The room we had on our second night was very nice. It was as we had booked - a Classic room. I don't understand. If you don't want us to write about a bad experience - which we had - why ask?
Every single member of staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was in a perfect location, between all the main sights to see. The foyer was a little plain and not very welcoming.
Location Room service was rude, the bathroom smelled really bad and it stunk up the bedroom. breakfast was not good nor tasty. The bed was not king or queen size, it was two single beds put togather, very uncomfortable
Design and location food
Perfect location for side seeing and museums, especially Louvre as well as for shopping There is no real lobby and reception desk - instead rather ridiculous two stands for staff
Design and Decoration Broken Lift more than 1 Day (If Compare with this Level)
Everything was excellent. Staff are very helpful & facilities great. The location is superb, close to Louvre, Pont Neuf and Metro but very quiet in rooms.
Hotels name is not visible from the street
The staff were very nice and helpful and spoke good english. The breakfasts were very good, we also liked the nice linen used and the comfortable bed. The hotel reception area is not very welcoming. There is only an old couch and 2 very small reception desks with poor quality music playing. My first impression of the hotel was not good, they could have made the reception area much more inviting - get rid of the couch!! We also didnt like the shower as it was hand held! - makes it hard to wash your hair, thats if there is any hot water as on 2 occasions in the morning there was no hot water, especially annoying on the morning of departure before a 24 hour flight home!
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional. They did everything within their power to make your stay more enjoyable and to assist you in any matter.
Very clean dust free environment due to no rugs on the floor. Excellent staff service. Small hotel, with very personal service. Very quiet room. Excellent location. At 400 a night, it seemed pricey but I don't visit Paris enough to know the going rates. I walked into another 4 star and asked about rates and they were 25 to 30 % cheaper. The quality of the service at L'Empire is so good though that it was worth the extra money. Also, their web site on Hotels.com listed shuttle service which they didn't have, although to their credit, they found me a shuttle service, although in the end I chose to take a car to the airport.
There was no room for unpacking our clothes! stayed for one week and there was not a single drawer or shelf to store anything so after paying the rate of a 4 star hotel, we got the "confort" level of a 2 star hotel instead. The carpets were filthy and the matresses were soiled! The narrow hallways smelled and felt like a cheap cruiseship. We are very dissapointed with the quality of the rooms and the overall value of this hotel.
Service was excellent. All staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is conveniently located 5 min from the Louvre, restaurants and the metro. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Overall help with taxis, dinner reservations, comfort of the room, location close to exciting parts of Paris, extremely helpful staff. Also, the size of the room, relative to other Paris hotels, is superior. A nice, professional, contemporary hotel with a first-class staff and great attention to detail.
Very convenient to RER. Great location! Quiet. Friendly staff.
We didn't like the third bed, was too small
Location. Nice rooms. Long waiting line at the breakfast
The locxation is great for the cente of Paris, without being in any high traffic or people area. The Hotel facilities are good and the breakfast a splendid spread. Taxis are hard to come by, and the Chatalet station, whilst being very close, is a nightmare to understand (Not the Hotels problem)
They should not advertise free internet as for four days I could not check my e-mails as two same people were occupying the two computers they have for hours every day.
easy to visit shops and west bank area the shower cubical water flow was poor to non-existant. we complained to room supervisor but told it was normal on 5th floor
Well located in a lively part of Paris and close to shopping and restaurants.
Facilies were very nice and the location is very central. Very short walk to multiple train lines and metro. With one exception with an encounter with a bartender which was terrible, the staff was great. Most front door men are always hustling bags, giving directions and calling cabs. All spoke English. Family's be aware of one minor quirk. The bathroom and shower doors are clear glass with a dulling switch. It just doesn't get real dull. It's still very see through for all members to see. However the rooms were very modern and clean.
The location was great very central The area looked abit dodgy at night but we had no trouble whatsoever!
The position Frankly more or less everything! In serious need of modernisation!! Air cond not functioning in a great number of rooms, carpets hardly clean in common areas, state of the building itself, in the garden show the lack of maintenance. An overpriced, and way overrated hotel.
The location was awesome! The noise and lack of an outlet in the bathroom, The room was also dated and could see years of wear and tear.
location of hotel was amazing, staff was great, concierge was great. everything was fine
Concierge was extremely helpful with planning day trips and use of metro. We travelled with subway and bus without any trouble as they give you maps and great instructions. Rooms were clean and had fresh crisp white linens. Housecoat and slippers to use spa. Courtyard lovely to sit in while waiting for wife to get ready. We had a two level suite on mainfloor over looking a very French courtyard/garden.
great hotel no complaints
My boyfriend and I stayed here on our first trip to Paris. The location is amazing - a metro stop across the street, as well as the Louvre and Tuilleries gardens. The bed was large and comfortable, and our room was cleaned no matter how late in the day. The restaurant had a beautiful courtyard and good food (breakfast is not included). The room was a little dark, but the common areas of the hotel felt luxurious. Couldn't have asked for a better location, especially at the price we got. The room was a little dark - could have used more lamps and another mirror. A few nights there was noise from people either closing doors or shutters in the hotel. For some reason the front desk took about an hour to deliver us our bags despite multiple calls, but that was the only time we had an issue with service.
Very comfortable, affordable Hotel with the luxury of the Spa. After long days of walking it was great to relax in the pool and spa! The room was very big as is the American way! Location was perfect.
Great location, excellent base for touring and exploring from. Park right across the street and metro station at front door. Staff very friendly - concierge service was excellent helping with decisions and arrangements. Enjoyed the bar in the evenings. Would likely stay there on any return trip.
Overall was a great place but its ally was given a room that was approximently 250 sq feet. Enough place for one but NOT two. To change rooms it cost an extra $50.00/ day. And while we were there the room was rented out again with the same result occurring to another couple. So while it made have great qualities the hotel still scams the customer.
Quiet and cozy room. Spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful at check in and the few times I requested suggestions for dining.
I had a great stay. Staff was very polite and helpful. Location was perfect, breakfast was delicious. Will come back again
Location ... Location ... Location The courtyards are just gorgeous and what better place to enjoy breakfast or coffee or a drink. We loved our room, # 210. it had a loft with a bed. and a view of the courtyard. Breakfast was not included. I think the room price should include it !
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They also spoke excellent English. Brilliant location for the Louvre.
Extreme helpfulness of most staff. Reference to 'Hot breakfast' Abscence of coffee/tea facilities in room (Neither of these important).
fantastic location and friendliness of desk staff the mini elevator, but I think this is common thoughout hotels in France
Small, clean, kind service, central Better acces to internet and printeracess
Compact hotel with attentive staff. Space at a premium but efficiently designed with modern baths.
Excellent Rooms, excellent location
the location was good to get to marais and to st germain as well as of course the louvre so easy. room was quiet, clean large enough in paris terms. so was happy and will stay again. that breakfast is extra. but that is typical of france. also dont like that you have to take your bags by yourself. im too old for that nonsense.
Location Breakfasts is very poor. Staff in bufett one of the shifts is rude staff
Very friendly personell. The Hotel is unbeatable due to its location near the Luvre. Typical view out of the window onto the inner walls to the oposite building. But therefore very quiet.
Very helpful staff, very calm street (no street noise at all), good breakfast Bath tub very old, it was not so pleasant to use it
It's just so expensive and the rooms are super small, the elevator is as tiny as it can be. It's just not very comfortable. For the price i was expecting something better
There is nothing to like Dirty , nasty, could not use bathrooms because they where nasty ... Mold grown everywhere .. Floors unvacumed ... Hunks of human hair on carpet ... I asked the manager if she would let her family stay there , she said no ... Had to find a new hotel
We had an exccellent value for money, were up-graded in a large and classy room with large bathroom (rare in paris). Very central and calm side street Not really
Beautiful, cosy room
The hotel is very well situated for all principle sightseeing and is quite. Staff are very friendly and for Paris the room was large and lighting was very good. Only complaint was the high cost of the buffet breakfast. You were only allowed either 1 coissant OR 1 piece of bread with the express breakfast, but you did get fruit juice, yogurt and coffee as well.
Very conveneient location, staff was helpful Rooms were quite small
location the room
Great location walking distance to the Louvre and Notre Dome and easy access to subways. The staff were kind and helpful and the building is what you'd expect in the 1st district of Paris (hint the elevators are extremely small). I would definitely stay again when back in Paris.
Staff is very kind; location is perfect for visiting Paris; the access to the public transport is also very good. On Saturday evening, the street is very noisy due to the restaurants that are open till the next morning. The rooms could be cleaned overall, on the window sill, under the desk,...
the location was the best. I would only stay in this area when traveling to Paris. I rooms are small but clean. their breakfast was not worth the money. there are a lot of great restaurants surrounding the hotel
Great location, at the heart of Saint Germain!! The room is too small, we can't fit 1 small size and 1 mid size luggages in the room. :-(
Location was excellent - room was clean and staff were friendly Price of Hotel was expensive for 2 nights
The location. I thought the room was a bit basic considering how much it cost.
The location was very convenient - both for shopping and dining. Many good shops and restaurants nearby. I did not think the room quality warranted the rate they charged. I was expecting more quality for the type of rate they were charging.
Asked for non smoking room, but had to spend first night in smoky room before being able to move
This was a weekend break for a wedding anniversary. A perfect location for walking to the river, Notre Dame, Le Louvre and the nearby streets of art galleries, boutiques and ubiquitous Parisienne cafes. Particularly vibrant were Rue de Buci & Rue St Andre des Arts. Although bustling and lively, it did not feel 'touristy' and we enjoyed mingling with local people who in this particular area seemed very elegant and fashionable! We chose the 'superior' room, which was fine for the two of us- compact, but not cramped, with clean, modern furnishings & a stylish en suite bathroom with no plumbing issues! We were on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet at night.Staff were v friendly, helpful & happy to speak english if required! Highly recommended!
superb location. will recommend to friendss
Friendly and helpful staff, clean and reasonably spacious (for Paris) room, excellent location. No
I loved the quiet elegance of the hotel that was an escape from the hustle and bustle of Paris. There were so many unexpected ammenities that added to the luxury. The hotel staff was incredible - they were attentive as well as discrete. I loved it.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Louvre with ready acccess to tour excursion buses and within walking distance of key toursit sites.
Great location, clean rooms , very polite staff. The room and the furniture could use a bit of renovation
Location was superb. Room was large by Paris standards. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a little boring and quite expensive.
hotel location, staff behaviour
The location is fabulous right next to the Louvre, Eiffel tower, and the latin quarter as well as plenty of high end shopping areas. the lift is a bit small and breakfast was a little pricey but with so many cafes and restaurants around that was not really an issue
Location and friendly staff
We stayed in a room on the 6th floor which was (by Paris standards) rather big. The bed (double) could have been bigger. Location of the hotel is really superbe as it is situated within walking distance of Le Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Underground parking nearby (Parking "Les Pyramides"). Very friendly staff !
The location was great--right near the Jardin de Tuilerie and with easy access to a boulangerie, a coffee shop, a grocery store, the metro, and parking. Did not particularly like dealing with one of the three desk clerks encountered.
The location was excellent and the room was very nice. We liked the balcony and laarge bathroom. Staff was quite helpful. breakfast not very good for the cost.
The place was very clean and cosy, we have really been surprised by the quality of the service. Location is perferct for a city trip
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly efficient staff. Lovely room. Very central
The location was excellent lack of a proper shower
The location is great, surrounded by historic cafés, galleries, restaurants and shops. Subway very close too. Service was very efficient noise isolation
Lovely staff narrow steps to the top floor
The hotel was very clean. The room was very quiet aNd of a reasonable size. The staff were xtremely friendly and helpful. a perfect stay!
The location, and price given the location. Helpful staff. Paris is expensive, and the 6th is particularly expensive. I prefer to stay in other parts of the city, but had no choice on this trip, so it felt like I was overpaying, but I know I wasn't given what my friends were paying nearby.
very good value for the location. very nice staff.
nice quiet area dining area very noisy at breakfast time due to staff clearing and washing dishes. Mould on bathroom ceiling
The hotel was clean and the staff helpful. The beds were comfortable and the location was outstanding. The rooms were billed as air conditioned, but the weather was nice so we didn't get to test the A/C. The lighting over was bathroom sink was very weak. I practically had to kiss the mirror in order to adequately light my face to shave. The beds made a crunchy sound when we moved around, but it wasn't a major problem. There was mold on the shower ceiling a base.
Great traditional typical parisian 4* hotel. Excellent location. Wanted 100 euros to stay until 1:00pm for check-out. Offered me 12 noon free.
O.K., I know its owned by Hyatt but It still felt boutiquey and small with a personal touch (as if not owned by Hyatt). The staff focused on attentive service, from the front desk, to room service, etc. Its clearly part of the staff culture. There is an intimate feel as if they all know each other--and everything about you. When I spoke to one front desk person they know a discussion I had with another the day before. The Concierge was amazing and made recommendations and the actual reservations and when things were not available made good judgments on his own for changes. We felt like they know us and were watching out for us. It is not that big really which helps in this case. The rooms felt well maintained with a terrific balance of old world and new. Highly Recommended!!!!
Location and comfort.
The worst hotel Old smelly rooms , bad carpet dirty, wood very bad
Concierge services are exceptional - special thanks to Eric, Remy, Magaly.
The welcoming and very helpful staff, cleanliness of rooms, and above all, the excellent location. The room service was poor. We had a baby and we used to order warm milk twice a day. They gave us hot milk one day, watered down the other, cold another, and so on, even though every day we asked for a glass of warm milk. I guess it all depends on who is on the shift.
Excellent location, helpful staff, clean rooms, large and light bathrooms, really french atmosphere, close to most of the sightseeings and fashion boutiques. The decoration of rooms is a bit tired, but this is a problem of the most of the hotels in the centre of Paris.
Great location ......just a short walk from some fantastic places of great interest. Buzzing cafe night life right on the doorstep too....good atmosphere in the hotel... It seemed expensive and the quality failed to match the expense....certainly for a pound based UK visitor. There was a shortage of helpful welcoming staff....particularly at reception where you face an unacceptable wait. Irritating.
Location, nice atmosphere On the expensive side
The best about hte hotel is its location - just next to the Louvre, between two squares, walking distance to everything I wanted to visit (never took a taxi or any other kind of transport). The receptionists were English-speaking and nice and helpful. The room was spacey (stayed in a junior suit), as well as the bathroom, cosy and clean. In fact, everything in the room, as well as the service, could be compared to a 5* hotel (including the cosmetics in the bathroom). Plus, the free WiFi is a nice addition to all. The hall and the corridors need renewing - the first impression of the hotel lowers ones expectations because of the old and a bit dirty common spaces in the hotel. Another thing, is that the air-conditioning was poorly working and it was a bit hot, but I just turned it off and opened the windows from time to time. Also, unpleasant surprice was the thinnes of the walls - I could hear every slam of a door and footsteps, however, no one really made noise, so I slept like a baby. One more thing about noise is that the windows of my room overlooked an inner yard and when opening the window there was a bussying sound from the air-conditioning or other machines. Overall, these were quite minor problems and didn't spoil my stay in the least!
it was next to the metro station
The quality of the rooms, decoration, and space are far far less than shown in the pictures and indicated in the hotel desciption.
Location fantastic Would have been nice to have a bar in the hotel
Location - near the Louvre and short walk to the Arch de Triumph. Outside view from our room was to an interior courtyard - no view.
During the daytime it was good to be so central to major sightseeing areas. At night we felt a bit more isolated, with many of the shops etc closed.
Hotel Brighton is extremely elegant and stylish. It is the ultimate address for a short, comfortable and realistically priced stay in Paris.
The location overlooking the Tuilleries on Rue de Rivoli was excellent. The lounge was cosy. The person handling the Reception much of the time was consistently unpleasant, unhelpful and almost rude. One person handling the luggage would not reply or confirm that the Hotel would keep the luggage for sometime after check out.
Location was wonderful- right next to Louvre and Tuileries. Comfortable walking distance to all attractions. Front desk manager was quite rude and unobliging.
Location to major tourist sites very good Free internet access spacious room Poor reception area ,lack of assistance on arrival, room furniture in poor conditionlack of cleaning to room ie not vacumned & dirty glasses not replaced or cleaned
Very friendly staff especially the evening that we arrived. All spoke very good english and were very helpful and very friendly with my children Unfortunately there was no hot water in our apartment and the shower door had come off its hinges, which was not immediately apparent on our arrival. However, the staff resolved this by giving us access to the bathroom in the room next door. Not ideal but it worked out for us
Location, location, location.
The hotel is located central to many things to do in Paris. The building is quaint and pretty. It was warm weather for October and we were told there is no A.C. and no fans. The staff at the desk was unfriendly the maids and bellman helpful and friendly. Our room was extremely hot and located on floor one so if you opened the window for air you had the option of car exhaust, very noisey traffic or a pigeon joining you. I was confined in this room on 2nd day of trip with a broken pelvis from a fall on the sidewalk in Paris.I was very glad to be able to leave this very uncomfortable room and bathroom that smelled like a urinal. Despite many concerned calls from my husband to make arrangements for a car to take us to airport, the evening before no one knew anything about it and was irrated at our inquiries.
The ambient and style, great position
Everything about the hotel (location, room, staff, cleanliness) is recommended, with the exception of the breakfast. The breakfast consisted of a piece of ham, a roll and a few (not very fresh) pastries - not worth 13 Euros each
Staff at the reception were remarkably friendly and helpful. The location is just excellent. Bathroom was nice and clean. Rooms are small and the air conditioning was not working properly allegedly due to the seasonal transition (change from central heating to central air conditioning). Instead of having breakfast at the hotel, it's a good idea to take advantage of the hotel's location and walk to any of the near by cafes, with tables on the sidewalk.
Bed is comfy. No kettle in room.
central location was best thing about hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful not really availability of terrace could have been made clearer
The mood and the location is great. no
location in the heart of Paris, in a quiet street, could have been worse price a bit high, no tea or coffee facilities in the room, room a little small
Convenient location No internet--had to walk about 6 blocks for an internet cafe
Good location, nice rooms not possible to put luggage under the bed to get more space in the room.
Great location. Cool decor.
Room was clean and well maintained. Staff did not want to assist with possible change in my reservation. For any change in dates they directed me to deal with booking.com and did not want to meet my request for a shorter stay.
Very clean and location
Location Size of the room/bed (small) and no reception staff
Great location, ended up getting a fairly good price only to find others got better. Quiet, hasw some charm, near to lots of funky eateries, 300 meters to Louvre, 3 blocks to opera bus lines tour buses etc. The manager is a complete a**hole!! Staff is typically French, meaning that if they have time they will help, if not, go fly a kite. They charge $us30 a day to use the wifi..how cheap can you get?? What an insult. No amenities in the room (coffee, cheap shampoo, lousy towels, typically small Euro rooms, old mattresses in need of replacement,
Staff is very kind and helpful, facilities in the room are a real add-on. Price is in line with the position of the Hotel in the city, which is perfect.
Excellent location, friendly staff, big room and bathroom, good breakfast, cleanness. Nothing
Small room with very tiny bath. Wifi didn't function on the first day of my stay.
Friendly staff and cozy environment, clean compared to other Paris hotels. Room too cramped for that price.
Helpful staff who were patient with my basic french language skills! Nothing flash about the room but clean and comfortable. Very close to the Louvre and other places Very small ensuite - especially the shower box. A large person would have had problems.
Great position, very good to have a lift for luggage and the staff were very friendly and helpful It was great until the last day when some people left early around 5 am and the walls were a little thin which made the sound travel and was a bit disturbing
Free wireless was good, staff was helpful. Excellent location. Note that all twin rooms arre facing the street so it was a bit noisy. Pillows were small and uncomfortable, no hairdrier in the bathroom but for a 2 star hotel it is rather good...
Good location, friendly staff, free lockup if you plan on staying later in the day of your departure.
The location is good. The space of the bathroom is too small.
The location is convenient. the metro station is juat about 5 min. walk. and the wifi signal is good. the room is kind of small and the facility seems old. The light in the washroom will be off if automatically if it's turned on for sometime. The lock of the room door cannot function well. The ketle in our room was too dirty to use.
The staff were excellent as was the location. An extra 10€ is a lot for breakfast. We opted to get our own.
The location Dirty room, dirty towels noise from the plumbing
for Paris it was a decent size and comfortable the bed was hard but not any different from the other european hotels I stayed at
Fairly handy to Louvre, etc. Clean, quiet, nice breakfast, helpful staff. Would be nice to have shower curtain in bathroom.
The location of the hotel is excellent. All the shoppings are in walking distance. The staff at the reception desk is extremely polite and helpful. The only negative thing was the rudeness of the cleaning lady. The cleaning staff should be more professional and polite with basic courtesy to the customers.
Convenient location for my needs. Breakfast and breakfast service were good and a fair value. Poor lighting, including missing lightbulb. Drapes and drapery hardware were in poor repair. The toilet is in an extremely cramped location. Towels removed by room maid were not replaced for several days.
Nothing, we had to move. Like being in a closet. This hotel is rated a 3 star and is far from it. You had to step over your luggage to get around the bed in the room. You can not turn in either direction in the shower. We moved after telling them the evening that we checked in that we would be moving and they told us that it would be no problem. We'll guess what, just got home and checked my charges and they charged for the extra day...
Clean, friendly, helpful.
Style of the room, comfort, wi-fi, reasonable size (so-called "luxury" upgrade). Also the excellent proximity to everywhere we wanted to go. Noise from the street, but in this part of Paris it's difficult to get away from the traffic noise
Ease of access to local area. Very clean. Nighttime concierge always bad tempered. Room was very small even though we did order a standard room it was possible to turn the TV off with your toe from the bed.
The location is perfect, the staff very helpful
The night concierge was extremely helpful. The size of the room and the bathroom. The location and choice of excellent restaurants, and of course the Left Bank. The Jr. Suites are quite nice. The lack of extra pillows with cases. Sometime felt like a self-service hotel.
Location is excellent and the staff is very friendly
