Overall help with taxis, dinner reservations, comfort of the room, location close to exciting parts of Paris, extremely helpful staff. Also, the size of the room, relative to other Paris hotels, is superior. A nice, professional, contemporary hotel with a first-class staff and great attention to detail.
There was no room for unpacking our clothes! stayed for one week and there was not a single drawer or shelf to store anything so after paying the rate of a 4 star hotel, we got the "confort" level of a 2 star hotel instead. The carpets were filthy and the matresses were soiled! The narrow hallways smelled and felt like a cheap cruiseship. We are very dissapointed with the quality of the rooms and the overall value of this hotel.
Well located in a lively part of Paris and close to shopping and restaurants.
We didn't like the third bed, was too small
The locxation is great for the cente of Paris, without being in any high traffic or people area. The Hotel facilities are good and the breakfast a splendid spread. Taxis are hard to come by, and the Chatalet station, whilst being very close, is a nightmare to understand (Not the Hotels problem)
Facilies were very nice and the location is very central. Very short walk to multiple train lines and metro. With one exception with an encounter with a bartender which was terrible, the staff was great. Most front door men are always hustling bags, giving directions and calling cabs. All spoke English. Family's be aware of one minor quirk. The bathroom and shower doors are clear glass with a dulling switch. It just doesn't get real dull. It's still very see through for all members to see. However the rooms were very modern and clean.
Service was excellent. All staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is conveniently located 5 min from the Louvre, restaurants and the metro. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
easy to visit shops and west bank area the shower cubical water flow was poor to non-existant. we complained to room supervisor but told it was normal on 5th floor
They should not advertise free internet as for four days I could not check my e-mails as two same people were occupying the two computers they have for hours every day.
The location was great very central The area looked abit dodgy at night but we had no trouble whatsoever!
Very convenient to RER. Great location! Quiet. Friendly staff.
Location. Nice rooms. Long waiting line at the breakfast
Location, size off apartment for 4 adults.Surrounded by nice restuarants and shops. servicing of room daily in rate would have been nice.
Very friendly staff, awesome free coffee and fruit anytime you like; the facilities are modern style and clean. I got the apartment, which is not too big, but is functional and ideal when traveling with family (4). Location was excellent, you are in the 1st. arrondisement in the heart of Paris, almost everything is within walking distance.
Hotel staff was very nice and helpful Rooms are old and need updating (including the furniture). Hotel could provide room cleaning and/or new towels during your stay. Supposed to have AC, but not turned on or useable. Had to keep windows open and this made it hard to sleep - due to noise from outside.
I have mentioned above No
Location Staff and not clean
Excellent location, very helpful staff.
Location, friendly staff, very reasonable rates, amazing rooms with tons of space and amenities - even better than advertised!
great location, perfect for all Maris shopping, cafes, nightlife and convient for all transportation Maid service is once a week
perfect location, good price the quality of the bed was poor
The location. You can walk to a lot; like the Louvre, Nôtre Dame, Centre Pompidou etc. Right outside the door, there were plenty of restaurants and cafés for every taste. Carpark indoors. The metro 10m from the hotel. The kitchen was wel equipped. The couch needed to be replaced long time ago, very dirty with cigarette holes. The carpet was dirty.
The location, only 1/2 block from the Seine and 1 block form Notre Dame on the left bank was superb!
I was very disappointed that the hotel had no working air conditioning. I had specifically wanted a room with air conditioning and the room was very hot. We were unable to sleep with the windows open as it was very noisy due to the location. A consequent to this was I had 2 very poor nights sleep. They did eventually give me a fan. The staff saw no urgency in sorting out the problem. The breakfast was a 'shelf' of food and you were only able to have 1 croissant each. This certainly didn't warrant the hotel being 4 star. It was a tiny room and the choice and selection of food was poor.
very small breakfast hall and very little choice of breakfast and impolite staff
Very nice location in the heart of Paris
The location was the best thing about the hotel, it was in an excellent area. The room was also very comfortable and clean. The breakfast dining area was cramped and the selection of food was quite small. For the price of 400 euros for two nights we thought the breakfast wasn't good value.
Perfect location, kind personnel. Elevator.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The location is excellent for shopping , transportation and eating out. Everything on your doorstep. The breakfast room is extremely small and uncomfortable. Breakfast for that room price should be much better.
Staff's help with forward flight bookings
Close proximity to Metro and several of the sites.
Location Nothing in particular
Location is great!!! Staff are very sexy and friendly!!! It's a bit expensive but it's Paris so....
Its Location I think that the rates at expensive for the size of the rooms and the facilities available
The decor and the central location The street outside is very noisy, so we couldn't open the window even though the room was too hot for comfortable sleep (20 degrees).
Staff of the hotel extremely frindly and helpful. Nice atmosphere in a nice area. Close to restuarants and metro. Rooms are too small.Only 1 elevator very small and slow. No internet free. Breakfast too expensive. Minbar too expensive.
The hotel was beautiful and the location was fantastic. There were many restaurants and shops in the area, and it was perfectly located for exploring all parts of the city. Also, many of the new, popular restaurants are within walking distance.
its central location i guess. it was very easy to move using the metro. generally, i think the staff should be more helpful and polite and their rates should be much more low.
Staff very helpful.
Excellent location, modern decor, friendly staff. A stone's throw from Notre Dame. Staff were extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and even late breakfast. Small room, but par for the course in Paris. They're doing renovations, but that has to happen sometime, so no big deal.
Excellent location in the centre of Paris. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of good restaurants nearby. I would definately stay here again. The room was fairly small, especially the bathroom. Having said that, the bed, furnishings etc. were top quality. Hotel rates were very pricey, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for in the centre of a capital city!
A very comfortable hotel in an ideal location for Paris and especially the Marais quarter. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms very well designed (quite small but this is normal for Paris) but the use of space was well appointed. A very good lounge / bar for relaxing and free WiFi
The central location, closeness to the subway system and the pleasant view from the window.
Excellent location. Comfortable rooms. Very nice breakfast. Very helpful staff. We had several problems with our room (safe not working, heating not working, toilet flush broke down while we were there). The staff available were as helpful as they could be and did their very best. I think we were just particularly unlucky anbd I have no reason to believe that other guests had similar problems. To compensate for all our problems we were offered free breakfast each morning and also got a half bottle of champagne. The most senior staff available most of the time was a receptionist and there was no manager on site.
Excellent location, excellent staff. Very comfortable room. Only slight niggles - I wasn't sure how the air conditioning worked (the room was a little warm at night) and the toilet was sometimes a little eccentric. To be fair, however, the concierge did offer to have a look at the toilet if we wanted and, again, I could have asked about the air conditioning. On the whole, we were delighted with the hotel and will definitely stay again and recommend it to others.
This hotel is very centralized near Notre Dame and the Hotel De Ville Metro. Thomas, the receptionist. I'm rating this briefly b/c I am a critic. My full review will be on another website and popular magazine. First, the room was filthy and tiny. Not worth the money. There were blood stains on the curtains. The chairs in the room had more stains than I could count, looking as if they have never been cleaned. The toilet ran all day and all night requiring maintenance. The fixture in the kitchenette was loose and after addressing it with management nothing was done. The vent in the bathroom had inadequate ventilation and had dirt fuzz hanging off of it. I had to clean it myself. It looked as if it had never been cleaned. The bathtub leaked from both sides when taking a shower requiring us to use half of the towels in the bathroom for each shower so we wouldn’t slip on the floor. The hotel cleaning staff never did an adequate job cleaning the bathroom and after discussing it with Thomas the receptionist, he explained that they were unreliable and often did not show up to work. Despite his excuses he was very nice and cordial. The mini-bar was in a cabinet with no vent creating a heat source from under the kitchenette. This made the room even hotter because the air conditioning did not work for our entire stay. The rude Chilean woman receptionist almost scolded me and my wife telling us not to touch the thermostat in the room. I heard other guest complaining about this issue also. It registered a constant 29 Celsius, or 85 Fahrenheit. Lastly, the wireless internet connection did not work. It required a cable from hotel management. The best thing about our stay at this hotel was the location and the service received by Thomas, though after finding out I was a critic he explained to me that there were much bugger and nicer rooms and offered to let me see them. I declined. We should have received a nicer room if it was available. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. It barely makes 3 in my book.
The room was very spacious, for a hotel in the centre of paris. It is really idealy located in the heart of the centre 30 meters away from the metro, in the lovely Marais area. We got a free upgrade to a superior room because we stayed there for 5 days, which was great. Staff was nice and spoke english (as well as french) really well. Another great thing was the rooms are all overlooking an atrium, so you do not hear any street noise. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in paris but this was by far the best one ! I would recommend this hotel to anyone ! PS we didn't have breakfast in the hotel, so i don't know how that was.
Delightful, friendly and helpful service from the concierge Loic. Good English spoken. Comfortable clean room. Public sitting area/reception was limited because of lace of space and because weather was bad and we could not sit in the pretty courtyard. However we were happy to return to our cosy room after a long day of sightseeing. Excellent for a short city break and good location for sightseeing in Paris and close to a metro station. No
Very good position next to bars, brasseries and metro Rooms are very nice but a bit small
the courtesey and the comfort, quietness
The location of the hotel is excellent. Very near the metro and in the heart of the Marais. Most of the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly Upon check-in the staff at the front desk were aloof, bordering on rude and one woman was particularly unengaged and rude.
great location, very helpful staff, comfortable, quiet room
Great location, nice room (although not very big), helpful staff who speak a number of languages and a lovely sitting room for chatting, reading or drinks. The decor is elegantly French. The bed was not as comfortable as it could have been and the breakfast was too expensive (although there are lots of nearby cafes).
The service was exceptional anmd the staff could not have been more helpful. N/A.
Wake up call 15 min. to late, and the receptionist was not that helfull in the last morning, and we could not get just a coffe 10 to 7 a.m.
Location and exterior of the hotel. The hotel does not qualify as a 4 star boutique hotel in my view. Carpets are worn and it is a bit shabby. It does not have the facilities you would expect of a 4 star hotel (reception area, bar, etc). Outrageous charge for internet usage (36 euros/day). Staff seemed inexperienced and not very competent (could not find our reservation). Overall, not up to 4 star boutique standard.
The location was perfect. The room was a nice size with good "storage" for putting away things. The staff was great and helpful. There is a nice "living room" area but the small bar closes at 10:00. When I returned from an evening activity, I would like liked to be able to have a drink. The lack of WiFi services was a major problem for me. In today's world, WiFi service must be standard.
Helpful, courteous staff. Great location. Pleasant common areas at street level. Room appeared worn - wallpaper, rug. Noisy in room next door, as well as sounds from above.
excellent location, very helpfull and friendly staff
The Hotel is very close to Is de Ville and Is de Louis and Notre Dame. There are some lovely quiet restaurants very close. The Hotel is beautiful. The standard room was small so we upgraded to a lovely sized room.
Kind staff. Excellent location. Tiny room. Bathroom floods when you shower. Beds not comfortable. Noisy. Needs urgent refurbishment. Carpets were very tired. We had to kill a spider on the carpet in our room! Bar closes at 10 PM. Air conditioning not working properly. Absolutely overpriced. In fact, a 2 star hotel.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the lounge areas comfortable and tasteful. Also perfectly located.
Great location, good sized room for a european hotel. High ceilings were nice touch. Staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke english. only negative is that wireless internet is a little slow, but thats probably a good thing.
The staff was so wonderful. Really made my stay special
Friendly staff, parking place, nice clean room , situation of the hotel in the centre of Paris, very friendly staff NO
I enjoyed our pleasant greeting by the gentleman at the desk and i enjoyed,of course , the view and the great room and breakfast. A noisy location but very fun!
The receptionists of the hotel were extremely nice and helpful. The location is perfect, just opposite the cite and Notre Dame. Awful condition of the toilet and sanitary, the toilet brush was so dirty that it was dangerous to touch it, lavatory has a distinct heavy smell. The towels did not smell fresh and definitely were used for long time while they were true grey color instead of white.
We travelled all over Europe this summer using TripAdvisor reviews to choose our hotels. All the other hotels were wonderful. This hotel was horrible. The only thing nice about it was the staff – they tried, but alas, they gave us constant mis-information. Positives: they arranged a nice tour to Giverny; they went to pick up my lost bag a nearby St. Severin restaurant where we breakfasted daily. The owner must pay someone to write good reviews, because they certainly don't spend any money on upkeep or cleaning. Our room was just plain dirty, despite our requests to have it cleaned. Our computer didn’t work in the room or in the lobby – and they kept telling us it should (it worked at every other hotel in Europe). Awful! Incredibly bad! Mystified why the other reviewers gave it glowing reviews! No one lifted a finger to help us with our luggage. The staff gave us constant mis-information: E.G. sent us on a wild goose chase to find a Seine cruise; gave us wrong museum opening times. The final coup was when they arranged for a (very dirty) car to take us to the airport for our flight home - and he dumped us and our luggage on the street in front of the wrong terminal and raced off!
Small and quiet hotel with a very good location. As expected, the room was small but still comfortable.
Very good place, romantic room, all was very nice. I will recommend.
We stayed for 4 nights in June, had room #9 facing the Seine and a great view from our window of Notre Dame. Staff was warm and helpful. Recommend this Hotel to all.The Kings, Canada
location room very small. overall good have been cleaner especially bathrooom
Nice, unusual room. Great location. Corridors & stairways were under renovation
great location near metro and RER - fast train stations, in the Latin district of Paris with plenty of bars and restaurants. Cosy and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. the person who served breakfast was not polite nor motivated. Became expensive when exibitions in Paris
I had a room on the 5th floor as I requested a balcony, which they met. It was small, but very clean and well decorated. The bathroom only had a shower not bath but it was brand new with a hot powerful shower, and plenty of room to store 2 people's toileteries. The bed was really comfy, and there was no noise from the street with the window shut, and as it had air conditioning, heat wasn't a problem. The hallway hadn't yet been decorated so looked a bit shabby, but how much time do you spend in the hallway?? The location is fantastic - so close to such a lovely area, loads of bars, restaurants, the Seine, the train, the metro, notre dame - can't beat it! The only down side was we lay in til really late one day (after being out til 4am the night before, and the maid came in the room whilst I was in the shower. I came out in just a towel, thinking she would apologise and leave but she stood and asked me when I was leaving so she could clean the room! She only spoke french, and I only speak a bit of french so told her I'd be gone in an hour, but she continued talking to me in french, and I eventually had to say I didn't understand - I was not very happy that she wouldn't leave as I was practically naked!!
Reception staff very friendly and helpful
Very nice staff, great location, very understanding when we wanted to leave early reception area and hallways (at least the 2nd floor) often had a scent of sewage; plastic cover under your bedsheets (apparently for bed-wetters) squeeks whenever you move and give off a cheap feeling; the towels were washed but one still had a visible blood stain; poorly isolated windows lead to cold wind blowing onto one side of the bed
Many sights and great restaurants are within walking distance. Metro station nearby is also convenient to get anywhere else in the city. Room was very small. 3.50€ for minibar bottle of water was a bit much (I should have known better).
The location was great, staff was friendly, room was clean and despite the noise outside the room was quiet.
Very helpful and courteous staff; Excellent central location; very new and clean bathrooms By "american" standards the room was small, but perfectly adequate and with a nice balcony overlooking the street.
Great staff, perfect location!
The staff was completely helpful and friendly. The location was extremely close to a metro/RER stop. Our room was really cute and well appointed. The price was absolutely unbeatable. Like many European hotels (when compared to the US mega-chains), it doesn't have fitness centers, business centers, etc. however, given the location and the raw size (or lack thereof) of most of the hotels in the mix, its hard to fault them for that. If you're looking for a more "business trip" type hotel, this one may not be for you.
The charge for wifi was quite reasonable, but during my stay, their modem broken down. In general, it was pretty comfortable.
