Thank you for great advice on how to get to the airport, when to buy the ticket with no line, etc. Thank you for speaking French with me rather than assuming all Americans can only speak English.
overall okay + location expensive, but it is paris
The hotel room was on the small side but very well equipped for the price! We especially enjoyed the multi-room speaker system with headphone jack plug that we used with our iPhone to play music, the rain shower with great water pressure, the windows that overlooked the courtyard that opened all the way up with a great breeze, the big closet that fit all our bags and clothes for our long trip, the mostly friendly staff that understood English well. The proximity to the metro stations was nice but we found Rue Magenta to be very sketchy with a lot of vagrants, loiterers and gypsy beggars. We did not have a good experience with one of the night guards, we asked him to call us a taxi but when it was taking too long to arrive and we changed our minds he got very mad and almost began yelling at us. We had a dinner reservation to make on time and would have missed it if we waited for his cab to arrive. That's not the proper way to treat a guest at your hotel. Also the "spa" was disappointing, there was no privacy and other guests were walking in and out during our reservation time, including hotel staff interrupting the water bed massage midway asking if we had made an appointment. Yes we did make an appointment, please check your books instead of interrupting! So that experience was completely ruined.
absolutely nothing the staff, the cheap, tacky interior, the filthyness, the rude staff constantly smoking .. the loud noisy contruction all through the night, the paper thin walls to here the lowlifes staying in the area fight, the constant sounds of sirens and distress calls.. did i mention the rude staff. the bugs and spiders in the bathroom, the lazy housekeeping service.. the stink of musty furniture throughout the place. i wouldnt even consider the food after seeing the filthy environment
> Very convenient location to the Train Station and bus tours. > 30 min walking distance to the Pyramid/museum > Internet included > Reception is patient and very helpful > good restaurants within 5 min walking distance from hotel > Hotel is clean > I thought breakfast buffet -15 euro was expensive .. may be normal in Paris .. I brought my own cereal bars and took coffee outside
No parking. Overall cleanliness was horrible, certainly not four star worthy. Customer service was lacking, personnel seemed annoyed to help.
This was an incredibly well designed hotel, with all the charms of a french b&b but with the efficiency and attention of a boutique hotel.
Location, staff, cleaness, good soap and shampoo and fridge in the room. Air conditioning didn't cool down enough, hotel common areas need renovation. No privacy between room and bathroom.
This is a charming little hotel, with lots of character. Each room is different and our room was very tastefully presented. The lovely madamoiselle spoke perfect English and was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Great staff always offering help with a smile. Cosy and warm and very quiet hotel. Far from metro stations. Small but neat rooms.
Size of room was excellent compared to others in other hotels which were more expensive. Very clean and nicely furnished. Reception very helpful with request for extra pillows and also incidental information about the locality. The lift is very small!
*Clean the room *fix the sink so the water can drain *repair the curtains hanging like rags on the wall *Make sure the carpet is vacuumed *a decent breakfast instead of only croissants and jam I've never had such a dirty room and the whole hotel was hit or miss.
Hotel was clean. Staff was accommodating. The location was perfect for traveling in/out of Paris by train and the metro was also very close for traveling around Paris as well. Some sites are walkable. We found some great restaurants by walking around the area within 15-20 min. The hotel was under renovation which was not disclosed. The staff were loud when working/cleaning. The rooms were small, but this is to be expected in Paris and was really not an issue. Towels are small.
Value for the location - more than acceptable room and bathroom for the price, staff efficient and professional, everything worked. The hotel was under renovation which was not disclosed. The staff were loud when working/cleaning. The rooms were small, but this is to be expected in Paris and was really not an issue. Towels are small.
We had room 702, which was on the top floor of the hotel and had a small shared balcony. The room was tiny which is typical for Paris, but clean, with a fresh new bathroom and a very comfortable bed. There was a mini fridge and good air conditioning. Our room rate included a continental breakfast, which was served in the basement. Conveniently located a short walk to Gare du Nord and Gare du l'Est Maybe not the best neighbourhood, but there are restaurants and we never felt that it was unsafe when we were out for dinner in he evening. There are homeless people near the railway stations
Good location of hotel. Room was nice, but very small. Room wasn't clean, dust every where and a terrible smell. Propably not used for a long time
Clean, comfortable and convenient for Gare du Nord No complaints.
