Cons: Checking In took over 40 minutes, one person working. Didn't have size car we reserved only had smaller. After all day flying and long wait get hadn't much choice. Car had horrible cigarette odor.

bait and switch
Pros: convenience was fine.
Cons: reservation price was $86, final bill was $289! Yes, we deserved additional fee for underage of $75 but we turned down insurance and were still charged, etc...

Pickup and Dropoff were Terrible
Cons: The counter person was extremely slow. Took 15 mins just to get keys, even though I already had a reservation. Pickup was terrible. Had to wait 15 mins just to get car in parking structure because it had to be shuttled from off-site location.

Cons: Care was dirty (inside and out). Had to drop it of at an off site location which almost made me miss my flight

Quick and easy
Pros: Service was fast, especially the return. They also switched me to a smaller car when I requested upon arrival.

Pros: Decent car.
Cons: They charged ($187.00) over double the estimate ( $80 ) No signage for returning the car and the attendant was rude. And I haven't received a copy of the bill yet. I will never rent from Payless again.

Cons: The agent in Jacksonville told me that the drop off location in Tampa would be at the Airport. That was incorrect. Fortunately I was given a physical address that I could put in my GPS.

Payless Car Rental, pros and cons
Pros: Nice customer service. Easy to get car after check-in - just went out to their garage and it was waiting. SUPER affordable rate. Nice clean car.
Cons: The only con was a loooong wait at the counter in the Jacksonville, FL airport, about 30 minutes. It seemed that they only had one person there - I guess that's why the rate was so low. But this person was very courteous and helpful. I'd still use them again.

Cons: Customer service was very poor.. No interaction. No communication,or update when car would be ready until I asked. Car was of poor quality.

Pros: It was easy to find and get to, fast to get the car, and easy to leave thr airport.
Cons: The car had scratches abd dents all over it already. I took anvideo before we left incase they try to blame me for then exsiting dmg

Bad customer service, no receipt, no answer
Pros: The car was nice and clean and had no problems.
Cons: The customer service was terrible. I was sent to Avis to pick up the vehicle, then back to Payless as I assume someone decided to work. The gentlemen also took forever in completing the transaction in front of me and didn't seem to care one way or another. I added insurance to the car and he never gave me a total before asking me to sign away. After dropping off the car, the gal said the agent who helped me did it all wrong and she couldn't even check in my car. Meanwhile they were closed (5am). She said he would email me a receipt which I haven't received but they are quick to charge my card twice for two difference charges above what was originally agreed upon. I don't even know what I'm being charged for now?? Location won't pickup the phone...

Out of control payless employee
Pros: Upon arriving in JAX there was a single clerk on duty for Payless. A number of people arrived at the Payless counter at about the same time so the line was becoming lengthy. While serving the customer immediately before myself, the clerk disappeared for a length of time to "call up a car." By the time the clerk returned, the line had become quite lengthy. On seeing the line the clerk verbally exploded; she was cursing and screaming about the number of customers she was being expected to serve. Others quickly escorted her into a back room and closed the door. After about 15 minutes others returned to assist the customers in line. I would suggest the employee be released, she is obviously not able to provide customer care and support.

Difficult drop off
Pros: Airport is not busy - therefore it's easy to navigate.
Cons: There isn't an official return area for Payless, you have to drop the vehicle off with another rental company. In order to get a paper receipt, you must go in to the terminal & wait for the one employee to get a receipt.

Confusing drop off
Cons: Drop off is not clearly marked. Couldnt figure out where to return. Attendants at drop off were nice but couldn't speak english when I stopped to ask if I was in the right place to drop off.

Jacksonville to Miami in Hyundai payless rental ca
Pros: Checkout Was fast and price was as quoted I reserved a economy but was given what I considered a upgrade a Hyundai elantra, I drove from Jacksonville to Miami and had no problems. I refused all insurances and kept the price down, as a side note in the Dashbox they have a liability insurance card so your all legal,
Cons: They have for sale ciggarette lighter cell phone chargers but the Hyundai elantra has a USB plug to charge my smartphone it was all good

Crappy car, great price
Pros: Very cheap
Cons: The require an electric bill or bank statement for duval residents. The car i had was high mileage and worn out at 30,000 miles.

Pros: NOTHING THEY DID NOT PROVIDE US A CAR AT ALL AND WE WERE LEFT STRANDED AT THE AIRPORT. HAD TO PAY SIX TIMES THE PAYLESS RENTAL FEE TO GET A CAR>
Cons: They were closed when we got there we could not even pick up the car we had reserved up. Had to a car at six times the amount we had reserved it for from another rental agency as a last resort.

Cons: Took too long to get service. Had to return the first rental car because of car problem. Second car still had some issues but kept it because did not want to keep going back to airport for exchange.

Payless should be renamed "Careless"
Cons: I arrived at the Jacksonville airport after a long day of travelling to find that Payless had given away all the cars. They said that I was supposed to pick up the car by noon, however, I understood that it had to be after noon, thus when my flight arrived in at 4pm, my car was gone and the only thing they could offer was a truck and having recently had a hip replacement, I knew I couldn't climb in and out of a truck, I was forced to go down the line of car rental agencies until I found another to whom I will be loyal for life because of their great customer service. I think I would have been less offended at Payless had the service attitude been even slightly better, however the attitude was "tough luck, you're on your own".

Couldn't get the car
Cons: Was not mentioned anywhere that I need a utility bill or bank statement to rent a car until the representative told me at the counter. Who keeps a paper statement in this modern age, when everything is online. That's s loss of my business.

Pros: Car was nice, clean. Price was great.
Cons: Pick up was a little slow. Drop off had an extra step having to take ticket to the counter inside.

Cons: They did not have the vehicle I requested nor did they have anything similar and when I asked about it this was the reply "why do you think we are called Payless". They vehicle we did get was dirty and had stains all over the seats and when I tried to have the vehicle replaced they told me that was the only car they had available but still charged me the same rate. I will never use them again.

Get get what you pay for at Payless
Cons: The poor woman behind the counter was alone and trying to help 15 groups get their cars for a very busy weekend in Jacksonville. After waiting an hour and only 3 customers getting through the long line ahead of us we went with a different rental company

No one at the counter - never rented the car
Cons: There was no one at the rental counter when we arrived. This was at 1pm, during business hours. No sign on the desk saying "out to lunch" or "be right back"

Pros: Rate was low and booking was easily made. That was the only good part about the rental experience.
Cons: Cannot use company card to pay for rental and no information was given as to how big of a deposit they needed up front. Created a huge hassle at time of pick-up and ended up not even using the rental car due to difficulties in working out a payment solution.
