In the International Terminal past security in the departures area, there’s Plaza Premium Lounge that serves business class travelers from all airlines. Top tips for finding cheap flights to the Maldives

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Maldives flight deals.
  • Maldives has four major international airports. Velana International Airport (MLE) in Male is the busiest as it receives the majority of international flights. Maarafu International Airport (NMQ) is on Maarafu Island and is the second busiest. Gan International Airport (GAN) and Hanimaadhoo International Airport (HAQ) are two alternative major international airports in the Maldives that open the door for Maldives visitors from around the globe.
  • MLE sits on Hulhule Island close to Male, the capital of Maldives. Passengers flying to Maldives’ capital should consider using MLE since it’s situated in the capital. Thus, making it easier for Maldives travelers to move around the city center.
  • When flying to the Maldives and your destination is Addu Atoll, you should consider booking your flight to GAN. The airport is the major airport serving the island of Gan in Addu Atoll.
  • If you are flying to the Maldives, consider booking your flight to MLE. The airport serves as the primary gateway into the Maldives for visitors. The airport is well linked to major airports around the globe and receives multiple airlines flying from Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington D.C. (IAD), among other cities.
  • Do you need a place to stash your luggage? MLE offers luggage storage services at the baggage storage faculty close to MLE’s Terminal Help Counter. Luggage storage rates vary depending on the size of the baggage.
  • The Maldives is one of the world’s most exotic tourist destinations, consisting of 26 atolls in the Arabian Sea. Kaafu Atoll occupies space in the center of the archipelago and includes South Male Atoll and North Male Atoll. North Male Atoll is the main international hub for the country via Velana International Airport (MLE) or Male Airport.
  • In addition to the other Kaafu Atoll territories of South Male Atoll, Gaafaru and Kaashidhoo Islands, Male Airport should also be used to journey to more southern areas like Vaavu Atoll and Meemu Atoll as well as Lhaviyani Atoll to the north and Alifu Alifu Atoll to the west.
  • After your flight from the US to the Maldives, a trip to the northern reaches should start from Male Airport and end at Hanimaadhoo Airport (HAQ) in Haa Dhaalu Atoll. From here, you can discover the vistas and beaches of the surrounding areas like Haa Alifu Atoll to the north and Shaviyani Atoll to the south.
  • A connecting flight from Male Airport to Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV) in Baa Atoll is another option if you wish to visit Lhaiviyani Atoll. From there, you can hop to neighboring Raa Atoll and visit its capital Ungoofaaru to the north before heading east to Noonu Atoll and its main town Manadhoo.
  • If you’re spending time on Alifu Alifu Atoll, you can take some time exploring the areas to the south, including Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, then take a short flight from Villa Airport (VAM) in Maamigili over Faafu Atoll and Dhaalu Atoll towards Thaa Atoll where you can land at Thimarafushi Airport (TMF) to get a fresher perspective.

They bumped us up. They overbooked the flight and we hurried to the next flight. We are a family of 5 with 13, 10 , and 6 year olds kids. Everybody was running to the next flight. We never been exhausted in our flights hust like we have experienced this week. Mismanagement in scoot and kayak.

I was traveling with my 3 minor children, one leg I was seated two aisles behind them. On the longest leg I would have preferred sitting across the aisle from them, not behind. My youngest is 4yos. I understand airplane seating configurations are not the airlines problem but seating the one adult with a reservation apart from the minors was very difficult.

Awesome! Was impressed with the hospitality and the thoughtful services. The cabin attendants were superb.

Leg room and flight sound insulation is very bad. They broke 3 of my bags with bad handling

Crews were great but food not much selection just all tailored for Asian passengers.

I had a great experience with Singapore airlines as always. The partner airline, Scoot was fine except my bag was misplaced during the shuffle. Ultimately, my baggage arrived intact. Attempting to inquire about my baggage was impossible.

The Premium economy class is not the same as some other airlines because there are no economy seats on these planes. Basically you’re getting an economy seat that’s a little wider. The seats are not that much more comfortable. The service and food experience is similar to economy class on other Asian airlines. There aren’t enough toilets for the entire plane therefore we are forced to share the business class toilets that are closed off with curtains.

I commend the flight attendants on our SFO-SIN flight who went above and beyond to provide us with extra snacks and food. This type of service makes the flight experience personal and awesome.

It was a great flight Food was great Crew was spectacular

In general good, but the machine seems to be long in operation and some functions were restricted as e. g. Adjusting of seats.

We did not fly and our agent has been uncilling and uncooperative to help us rebook flight. We will never use Kayak ever again to book our flights, and we will let our network of friends know that using Kayak is equal to losing $$$$$.

The experience of the flight. The food options have definitely gone down

I am vegan. The food was balanced, tasty and enough. I enjoyed the ride. The crew was very friendly and went out of their way to please the passengers.

Food service must be faster and make vegetarian food in good quality

On time take off and early arrival, what else can one want

My last few flights with Emirates have always been delayed at least a half an hour. When my layover is only an hour and a half to two hours, 30 minutes makes a big difference. I’m going to check out other airlines.

we bought trip insurance from you and could not use it. 'underrated' only return 50 % of trip cost. my doctor told me i have stage 4 cancer and that I might not live till the end of the month..

Flight got canceled without any prior information and it caused lot of trouble

Staff were friendly, and provided great service. The food was plentiful and delicious. Food could have been hotter.

I was traveling business purposes and I only had one carry on and a personal computer back pack . My carry on was 8.5 kg little more than allowable. At jfk airport check in they did not let me carry it . I was little disappointed.

Check in desk people constrained by fear. Obvious typo on Uganda visa, even though approved, caused loss of flight. Something is definitely wrong with this system.

Between Air India and Qatar my luggage was lost for three days. I eventually found my own luggage location using the Apple Air Tag. Air India used a paper form to report my lost luggage. I could never get past getting past luggage personnel with my report number before they would hang up on me. Only after them specifically telling Air India at Chandigarh airport where my luggage was located which was right under their noses did they react. After three days I finally received my luggage. The Air India luggage folks didn’t seem proactive in finding the luggage’s rightful owner.

Besides the flight cancellation, everything else was prefect. Kudos to Malaysian Airlines.

Operated by American Airlines. Very chaotic and the crew was bit rough responding any enquiries. Restricted leg space.. Qatar would have been better

Qatar airways from Doha to guangzhau was excellent big bird Boeing 777 more room and smoothly flight, I Love it

It was good no problems made it on time for the next flight overseas!

The made us waiting and held our passports and boarding pass making us miss our flights

Not impressed. Only allowed one carry on on such a long flight.

The flight was good but my neighbor had the vent open full power for the whole flight and because the air was blowing from the side instead of from the top and I got very cold and ended up with a sore throat.

Bad experience with the delay n long wait time for connecting flight after missing the connection flight from Doha.

Awful. They cancelled my seats and demanded $1360 to rebook me

United failed me in cancelling flight to Chicago. Then put me on American Airlines standby to Miami for onward connection to RMO via IST. Standby failed. They looked me for Sunday morning 24 hours late at this point). Made it to Miami but Turkish airlines cancelled my seats and demanded $1360 to rebook the flights for the following day ! I went to United, spent two hours negotiating with Mr Ruis ? Who said he could do anything for me as he could fix problems that United caused in Miami. He suggested I call the 800 number. When I managed to.get through on my 6th call, I was on hold 2 hours and 30 minutes waiting for an agent when the call was cut off by United phone system. I went back to American. At last a lady , who had zero responsibility in this fiasco, helped me to find a replacement flight that night with Polish airlines to RMO through Warsaw at a cost of $968 including bag charge. I booked it with only a few hours to spare. The lady at American helped to recover and redirect my checked suitcase that had arrived in Miami a day earlier United customer service were awful. United partner Turkish airlines were horrendous and took zero responsibility. I ended up being late to my appointment overseas by 45 hours with zero compensation, no food vouchers, no replacement flights until I found one and paid for it myself. I reporting the entire fiasco to the secretary of state for Tennessee for law violations and refusal to remedy and compensate. I now need help to extend the trip by two days but United are not responding to communications

I was flying with Turkish Airlines from Tashkent to Dallas and from Dallas to Tashkent. In both directions the flights were late. I missed my connecting flight from Istanbul to Dallas in Istanbul airport because of that. That led to a no show case with a rental company in Dallas and I lost 460 US dollars. On the way from Dallas to Tashkent with a layover in Istanbul the plane was also late and I almost missed my connecting flight to Tashkent. Then my bag did not arrive with the same plane and only on the next morning flight from Istanbul. I was about to leave Tashkent the same day to Astana in Kazakhstan and then from there for work in Saudi Arabia. Luckily I had an excess in time before the next flight and I manage to get my bag back. Otherwise I would have missed 3 flights automatically because I couldn't travel for work without my bag and all valuables in it. So, overall, very bad experience with Turkish Airlines. Will never use these airlines again.

On my flight the menus showed different food and different was available. I think that was a miscommunication maybe. Other than that flight was wonderful.

Request for “strict vegan” as in the airlines meal selection was not strictly adhered to. My two travelling partners with their Asian vegetarian meals said that their meals were not Asian.

We waited 4 hours in the flight to take off but then the flight was cancelled.

It was ok. This flight was for my 80 year old grandparents and when they arrived to Beirut no wheelchair (as requested) was waiting for them. My grandpa had to pick up his own luggage, he got soooo tired. No one to help him as we submitted the request ahead of time

Terrible seats are very uncomfortable and narrow. Really hard time eating and painful buttons.. crew was very rud not allow anyone to stand not even to go to the toilets

Overnight flight in the old style Business class, but still very good.

I was in business class, without the business class amenities. Large seat with lots of legroom, but no TV or bed. Food was okay, but I did enjoy the Turkish red wine.

I arrived to LaGuardia Airport 50 minutes prior to my 6am flight but was told that I was too late and would have to flight standby to Dallas in order reach my final destination of Jackson, MS. Hundreds of people were in my situation but the agents chalked this up to being normal for any day. Had my been able to board my original flight I would have arrived at my destination by 10:30am. I didn’t arrive until 7:30pm which included a 30 minute wait on the tarmac. Strangely my luggage arrived at my final destination at 12:30pm of the same travel day. This was by far the worst travel experience I’ve ever had.

delayed multiple times. no resolution on anything from AA customer service. was put on hold in chat to talk to manager. was 6th in line to talk to manager for more than TWELVE HOURS - from sometime around 9AM until well after I had gone to bed that evening. no explanation, no attempt to make it right. just a five hour delay because of repeated maintenance claims

Very aggressive and unhelpful ground crew. Wanted to check my hand luggage for 3 flights. I had lots of delicate items and computer equipment. So the silly lady wanted to rebook 3 international flights because of a carry on. What nonsense. The baggage handler suggested I put it under my seat - so I did. And this was during the rebooking chaos of the Microsoft crash. She was the most arrogant annoying and aggressive ground staff member I’ve met in 20yrs. (AA flight out of Houston).

It was freezing in there. When I asked about it, the response is “we would have to tell them” and then she just walked away and continued to serve beverages. Everyone was cold and they didn’t care at all.

I did not enjoy continuously being lied to about the amount of time we would circle Chicago before deciding to redirect to Milwaukee. Then the amount of time we would sit on the ground in Milwaukee waiting for gas, or to take off again. Or the amount of time it would then take to get to Chicago again, or sit on the runway waiting for a gate. The whole time continuously hopefully we would make our connecting flight that kept getting delayed as well. Only to scramble and miss it. Enough with the BS. Tell me the truth. "Sorry, things are backed up and your probably not going to make your flight. You should rebook on the next flight now rather than wait." You'll never hear those words from an airline. Speaking of which. If the flight has been redirected and/or is seriously delayed, how about making the WiFi free for everyone so they get to rebooking and reserving hotel rooms while still in the air. You've inconvenienced me already and now you want me to pay $20 for Internet so I can try to make other plans. Absolutely disgusting!

The food was horrible compared to other airlines, there was no space for the overhead bins for carry-on luggage, and the seats were very uncomfortable.

The flight was quick which gave me more time to get to my other flight.

16 Hours delayed, NOT because of the cybersecurity Microsoft issue, but because we were one flight attendant short, then when the missing flight attendant showed up two hours later, the flying shift of our pilot had expired, so, now no pilot. American Airlines is the new Spirit Airlines, actually, that is not fair for Spirit, they are probably better.

Worst flight in terms of service and food. Attendants were inexperienced, no preflight drinks, did come and give us hot towels until well into the flight. The left the Curtin open between main cabin and everyone from the main cabin went to the fist class bathroom. Food was awful! Had the golden chicken and was too lemony and inedible. No offer of coffee after. Awful!

Excellent. Attendants served preflight drinks and were courteous and nice.
