The staff was very friendly. From the maids to the doorman to the concierge everyone was concerned with trying to help us have the best time possible while we stayed there. Loved using the free loaner bikes to get around the wharf.

The staff was friendly. Concierge restaurant recommendations on the money. The location was excellent. Rained the entire weekend-but no matter the hotels had huge umbrellas for their quests. Lighting could have been better when you entered the room (outside bathroom.) Prefer bathroom sink outside of bath/shower area. Allows two people to get ready at same time.

Big positives: cleanliness and size of room, very cheery staff, newer hotel. Somewhat kitschy decor that was also endearing . Cool rough hewn wood beams in room. As a former San Franciscan touristy Fisherman's Wharf wouldn't be my first choice but appreciated quietness of area. Far cleaner, quiet than Union Square or SOMA. Better value than Union Square, much nicer than motels on Lombard. Heard some guests making noise in hall in middle of night.

The room has a very hip vibe that is a hit with my kids ages 12-17. They love it! The hotel is just a block away from the cable car when we came back from a night at the downtown area. No hassle when we went around SF downtown and back. It is also within the activities from the pier. It is far enough from the main noise but near enough for a few minutes walk. Very accessible to all the great restaurants and activities around the area. None

Our stay at the Fairmont Heritage was extremely relaxing. The kitchen, laundry in the unit, and the overall decor were perfect for our needs. The hotel staff were friendly and always willing to help make our experience pleasant.

It was really close to all the attractions to Fisherman's Wharf The room we were in had a lot of guest traffic within the building such as people walking up and down the stairs and doors slamming. (room 241)

Location, availability of Uber drivers, value. Near enough to family in SF to get together with a short Uber. My purpose for the trip was to help a family member and I was not at the hotel much except for sleeping. My room this time was on the Main Street in the Wharf Building and the Marriott hotel across the street had trash pickup at 3 am which was very noisy and lasted over an hour including loud talking and clinging of metal containers. Lost some sleep due to this. Otherwise hotel was quiet. Will specify room location next time!
Proximity to the wharf 1. Found a man's underwear in the drawer. 2. I was never informed I would be charged an additional$100 on the day of our check-in. I saw the charge on my online visa statement and told only after my inquiry. Since there were no damages to the room, I should expect a refund in a few days. My experience has been that possilbe extra charges are done after check-out and NOT on the day of check-in. 3. A few ants coming out of the heater. 4. A $51 charge for underground parking because of the high rate of car break-ins so I parked there, only to find they also have overnight parking in the gated registration lot but told the price is the same???? Likely or another way to charge more???? No transparency.
The hotel is very 2 blocks away from any event or attraction I found 2 spiders in my bed . I just killed them .
We walked into our room and decided to check the beds before we went to sleep because we heard of bed bugs at this hotel. And to our surprise we found a condom! We called the front desk and they sent up a security guard (not a manager, which was weird). They switched our room but offered no other accommodations. After we called to complain they said they couldn't do anything more than they did...they also mentioned they would call us back and never did. Not a good experience.... I can understand a messy room, maybe a cigarette but an open condom on the bed is unacceptable.
The view of our room wasn't great but we checked in late at night and leaving early in the morning,so we didn't care. It was clean ok but behind the drawers and the TV stand wasn't for a long time, lots of dust and coweds..The parking was very expensive, $57.00 total. The other hotel we had stayed a week ago 2 blocks away it was $26.00....Unbeleivable priced! The wrapped sandwich that we had from the "snack booth " restaurant (it was closed), it was very good and priced fair. Garage parking price, $57.00 total...too expensive...

It's just a block away from the main street. In close proximity to bars and restaurants . The staff at the front desk was very helpful. We didn't go to the bar at the hotel but it looked inviting and we would have if we had more time. The hotel is a little older but nicely maintained.
Lots of food choices around the area including Starbucks. Looks clean. Nobody asked when we came in if we need help in our luggage. The bed creeks, make some noises when you move while sleeping. Parking is not included. You need to pay 50 bucks per night.

Nice looking pool & deck but rained so didn't get to use pool. Breakfast included with cereal, waffles, yogurt & pastries. Hotel was walking distance from a lot of locations we wanted to visit. Hotel was clean and bathroom was better than pictures shown. We had a problem with our booking. Hotel staff/manager did not seem like they wanted to fix issue that they created. We requested a specific room(golden gate view) weeks in advance and they denied our request stating they were out of rooms. After I called multiple times to confirm reservation. Later that night I go to the lobby and Over heard a convo between staff and another guest, saying they were going to upgrade him to another room (golden gate view). really?!?! That's not good customer service at all!
On the fifth floor people can have a sneak peak of the Golden Gate Bridge if the sky is clear. Experienced bed bugs in the accessible hotel room.
The staff were extremely nice and helpful. We came in pretty late and they advised places that we could go and eat that were near by. They held our bags the next day while we explored San Francisco. Our flight didn't leave until 10pm. I would stay here again. The rooms had a musty smell. But I think it's just the building
I am very upset with this hotel. We booked this hotel for our mini honeymoon in San Francisco. We booked and were guaranteed a king bed. Upon arrival we were told that we had Queens. I showed them my reservation that clearly stated that we booked a king. The front desk clerks were very rude. They didn't seem to care that our reservation said king. They said they gave our room away. Thanks for ruining our honeymoon. After a while they offered us free parking which was nice... but it was after I threatened to leave. The hotel is gross and not like the photos. Our bathroom was filthy and the toilet paper was on the floor. The bed was actually decent- but NOT A KING. I will definitely be spreading the word that you should not waste your money on this hotel. Perhaps if they would have showed some sympathy to our situation I'd feel different.

Big room, lots of space Because of the architecture of the building, in order to get to my 5th floor room, I had to go to the 4th floor, walk around the building, and take a different elevator to the 5th floor.
We stayed here for one night, it was perfectly located and the staff were all very friendly. I really loved that they had normal sized towels, not the typical little ones that great elsewhere. The breakfast was also well served, some bacon would have been nice but hardly problematic that is wasn't there. I think every hotel now days should have a USB charging hub but at the very minimum somewhere convenient to plug in your phone, Ipad and computer. This place only had one visible spare plug which was in the middle of a wall a nowhere near the desk. It also was very lose so that it was hard to get the plug to stay in the wall. Sadly though, this is more typical everywhere you stay.

The hotel staff was very helpful! Everyday Edward had suggestions for us. The room was very clean and was in a great location. Only a block from the dock, food, shopping, and tour buses. Street was a little noisy. But obviously, not the hotels fault.

I loved the comfortable bed, the cleanliness, and the friendliness of the staff. We had stayed at another location the night before which was so terrible, that I was online looking for a hotel and fortunately found the Marriott. They were able to accommodate us and turned our potentially awful weekend into a great success. I wish we would have found Marriott earlier. Could hear some people late at night but they settled down quickly enough.
The price point and location were great. The staff was always kind and greated us. It was nice and clean. So was the general location of the hotel. Some other "high end" hotels in the financial district for instance suffer from ridiculous pricing ,and you get to watch homeless at close range. The beds were terrible ,imagine the Grand Canyon combined with the Marianas trench. Rooms very spartan and bland.

Cheap, good location. No bedbugs! While I was there, a car got broken into in the parking garage- right next to my car. Their window was broken and someone stole their expensive luggage.
Quick cab to union square, had cute diners and deli's right across the street. Great hotel if you're looking for something affordable but clean and near the heart of the city. We were only there one night and barely in the room so we weren't looking for luxury. Breakfast was just a few items, but didn't affect us at all.
Location close to Muni and decent value for the money. Internet connection and speed could have been better and faster. Too many disconnection and slow at times. It will be nice to have dedicated area for free breakfast, instead of to go and have it in your own room.

Thin walls, could hear neighboring rooms conversations clearly. 2. cockroach in bathroom. 3. when my travelling partner tried to return to the room after visiting with friends the key card did not work. I was not there but the friend walked him to the hotel. This was 9 hours after checking in. The attendant was rude and refused to rekey the card without an argument then a scolding after. Ridiculous.
The hotel accommodated free guest parking for every guest. Compared to other hotels the price was lower,. San Francisco is expensive though. Many guests smoking in front of their rooms. One person even had laundry hanging by their door.

Really great location if you're going to go to Fisherman's Wharf or Ghirardelli Square. Room was pretty good-sized. The woman at the front desk lied to us when we checked in and told us she couldn't take our travel visa because it was against company policy. When we checked out in the morning, another woman told us that she couldn't take it because our bank would overcharge us and she was just protecting us (which was not even close to the story the woman told us the night before). She insisted on taking another card, even after we tried to explain that the reason we had the travel card was to protect ourselves and keep from getting charged ridiculous fees by our bank. Also, when we were getting ready in the morning a woman from housekeeping started banging on the door, and then tried to open it. When she saw us in the room (a full two hours before check-out) she said "Oh, you're still in here. Well, when are you leaving?" Not "Gosh, I'm so sorry!" For the outrageous cost of this room I expected better service. Since my partner and I had to pay a bunch of ridiculous fees because they wouldn't accept our bank-issued travel credit card, and because they both lied and were completely rude about it, there is absolutely no way I will ever be staying there again.
Comfort Inn By the Bay was close enough to the things that we were looking for that we were able to walk from place to place for much of our trip. The staff was very friendly and the hotel felt safe and cozy. Even after we checked out, there was a place for us to safely leave our luggage until we actually left the city.
The room was clean, good view (we could see the Golden Gate Bridge from our 6th floor room). The staff was very friendly. Parking garage spaces were tight but adequate and a good value at $26 per overnight parking. If you are a light sleeper, this place probably won't work for you. It was very noisy, outside and inside. We could hear traffic, sirens, and even people talking outside on the street at all hours. Two homeless people on the sidewalk had a loud argument at 5 a.m. regarding a space they wanted to claim for the day to solicit donations and we could hear them quite well. In the room next to us we could overhear their conversations even though they weren't talking loudly. The walls must be rather thin!

Price was reasonable. room was clean. The room was not big like some of the reviews indicate but OK. Breakfast was included even though its nothing special but give everyone a good start in the morning. it's quite far away from all the actions are. About 20 min. walk from the Fisherman's Wharf. Not far away if by car or not hilly but it's SF, hills are everywhere! We stayed on the 3rd floor, every morning shortly before 7, we could hear chairs moving around, you couldn't really sleep in if you wanted to. The noise was from the breakfast room on the 1/F. It was very annoying!

It is a very clean and bright hotel, nicely decorated for Christmas. Sound proof walls. Cozy room. Good free breakfast. One of the cheapest decent 3 star hotels in SF. Free WiFi. The parking garage experience was AWFUL. very narrow and low ceilings, with many poles in the way that made it very hard to maneuver. I drove a friend's Ford Explorer which ended up getting multiple dents and scratches from hitting the poles to avoid hitting other cars. If you have a van or truck, DO NOT sTAY HERE. The extra money I saved by staying here ended up costing $500+ in damage repairs. Also, the night staff at the hotel was rude and unhelpful.

Considering everything around the area is expensive this place wasn't too bad. If all you need is a room in something that looks halfway ok, it will do the job. Nothing flashy but I do give them credit for at least serving sausage, eggs and waffles with the breakfast. Nothing too bad to say except the front desk people being a bit disengaged but they got the job done. No cool extras like gym, pool, etc. Im sure that's to be expected in a crowded city.

I thought the location and closeness to fishermans wharf and easyness to the other transport was great i thought that the price was a bit excessive for what we got but the location made up for some of that. We had a lot of trouble with the Wi-Fi.
Easy to find on a major street with free underground parking. Easy walk to local attractions like Fisherman's Wharf and Union Street with bus service to go farther. Plain and simple, small so no crowd issues. Beds new and very comfortable. Needed some better maintenance in bathroom and common areas. The rooftop terrace is minimal and could be a real asset with some decor and character touches as it offers excellent views.
Location: the motel is within 20 min walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Parking: Limited, but available on premises. Beds: comfortable -Cleanliness: booger on the lamp on the night stand; partially torn shower curtain; hair on the bath tub drain; mold on the lower end of the bath tub's handicap handle. -Noise: very noisy heater/cooler. -Furniture: dated worn-out pieces from my grandmother's attic. -Detail: discolored bath tub ceiling (2 brush strokes of paint could have gotten it back to perfect condition); rust/mold on the shower's rod (could be removed in 5 minutes with bleach); electric outlet's plate on the side of the bed loose and outlet not working; TV's wires all loose and coming out of a hole in the wall; one of the first night's towels was worn out with side threads hanging out. -Parking: this is a family motel and guests return early. So when I returned back late, there was no parking. Since Sat and Sun parking is allowed in front of the motel, I parked outside. -Breakfast: served in the lobby with only 8 to 10 seats available. If all taken, they ask you to take a tray back to your room. -Staff #1: I left the room in the morning and placed the "please clean" sign on the door. When I returned in the afternoon, a manager (??) knocked on the door and gave me an authoritative lesson saying that I should not have left the sign outside, since I did not need anything (was always under the impression that the maid, once done with the room, places the sign back on the door handle's inside the room. -Staff #2: When checked out, my friend accidentally left a phone charger plugged in an outlet. I called the same day and asked for them to find it and mail it back. Their first response was to tell me that there were going to charge my credit card! I asked them if charging my credit card 45 cents was worth it and could not cover it in the name of good customer service, since I stayed in the motel for 3 nights (and overpaid). They said NO, and promised to call me back once the charger was found. Still waiting for the call! -I travel nationally and internationally and have never encountered such horrible customer service. No American or American-raised owner or manager would ever run this kind of business with such bad customer service. -Sorry, but I would not stay there again. Tons of other places would love to have my business and they will.

Nice Location for walking to attractions, handy with the parking (although a little tight but we liked the challenge!). Breakfast was terrible - cakes and muffins do not a breakfast make! Hotel needs an update and seemed a little on the expensive side for what it was.
It was very important to me the parking car, and the location where the hotel is. It is near of almost all places I want to visit. I don't like the carpet.

The staff were really helpful. They let us checkin early and didn't charge us. They were good value for money. However the room was basic and did the job. You would have to eat out as the are no kitchen facilities.
Location is very good, close to Fisherman's Wharf and easy access to Cable Car and Streetcar. Neighboring street, Polk Street, has a wide variety of nice restaurants. Good value for the money in central San Francisco. Sound insulation relatively light.
The staff was frinedly and helpful There were no in room movies and now swimming pool. The continental breakfast could have been expanded with fruit.

I was allowed to check in early. Great value for the room. Located within walking distance to several bus stops. Good restaurants nearby. Glad it didn't have shared bathrooms either. No A/C. I had to open the windows to cool my room down, and then the traffic was too loud to enjoy watching television.
The Marina Inn staff were exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. Our deluxe queen was spacious, clean and very pretty. The location is excellent- close to the water, many reasonably priced delicious restaurants, and boutique shopping. I highly recommend the Marina Inn The included breakfast was very basic. There was sandwich bread (next to a toaster), hard boiled eggs, yogurt, a few bananas and orange juice.
Great location. The hotel is right off the 30 bus line. Nice and friendly staff. Good small free breakfast. Great value for the money. Not the warmest blankets they had a few holes in them, but everything was clean and smelled nice.
Only the location. They say that there is internet connection throughout the hotel, but in fact, you can use it only on the 2nd floor. If you are on 3 or 4th floor, you should go to the 2nd to be able to connect the internet. Also, unbelievably, they do not have parking..

The room was pretty nice overall. The bed was nice, and the area was pretty beautiful. a walking distance (for those who like to wonder around the city), to many cool places. When I got to the room, the carpet was a little wet, so I guess it might had a problem in a rainy day.
Convenient location near SF places of interest. Good value and very helpful staff. Rooms comfortable, with enough space to get organised. The continental breakfast was unusual for the British taste. Some of the rooms could be noisy, being close to a busy road but this is a subjective view.
The location is fairly good, nearby food and shops and 45 min walk to pier 39. The quality is bad. The bed was horrible, i was glad it was time to get up in the morning because the bed made my back hurt. My wife had the same. The shower made alot noise, same for all other showers which we heard in the morning. Our promised breakfast was nothing more then milk and pre-packaged muffins. We decided to go out for breakfast in the end. For $65 this was not good enough. I think most reviews here are based on the hotel years ago. However it clearly aged without maintenance.
Front desk quite helpful & friendly The location is great, and is very close to Chestnut Street with the Muni bus system. Overall I will stay here again, now that I know how things work. Did get good rate ($80/nite) Cold: no heat & only 1 thin blanket Lukewarm shower - will get hot one if the water is run about 10 minutes or so, per front desk - but didn't know this for the first morning:( Not enough towels (no washcloths/bath towels) Solutions: Front desk was great about giving me everything I needed. Got initially second blanket -almost slept well and then W/3rd blanket slept better. Wall heater nonfunctional. Whoever cleans the room does not replace the towels - just takes the used ones away. Continental breakfast: ok, didn't see the hard boiled eggs first day as the are on shelf below eye level.
The room was relatively clean. The carpet in the hallway was about 2000 years old. It was extremely dirty that I wanted to throw up. There was no ironing board or iron in the room so if you're here for a meeting that will be a problem. There was no parking so if you rent a car, you will have to drive around and around to find parking. There are other motels and inn within couple blocks and those have parking. There was no thermostat in the room so you can't control temperature in your room. I would go somewhere else if I has known how it was before I came.

The place is in a convenient spot, near to almost everything in SF downtown area. The staff was nice and helpful The bed and carpet were damp and had weird smell. Theres a guy sleeping on the stairs, which iscreepy. The price was a little expensive but we had no other choice due to last minute decision
