Signs at airport
Cons: The signs to find the Payless counter is terrible.

Quick pick up
Pros: Easy to get easy to drop off.
Cons: Don't want to own Ford Focus. Poor pickup but cheap price

Pros: The car was ready to go once we had our paperwork, and the return process was very smooth.
Cons: We had to wait for the employee working the counter to return - about 10 minutes while we stood there waiting for some help. When he came back (from lunch, it appeared) he didn't even acknowledge our wait for him. Even a quick 'sorry about the wait' would have been appreciated.

They would not Honor the Confirmation
Cons: I made reservation thru Kayak directly. When I arrived at the Bur airport....the guy did not show reservation on his system. I called the Payless 800# and they did show that I DID make the reservation. But the Guy refused to honor the reservation. BECAUSE HE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO MANUALLY TYPE IT IN. So after 30 mins of back and forth, I gave up and tried to get car from Budget. (DOUBLE THE PRICE for walk-in). The girl at Budget was nice to mention that she can help Payless moron to type in Manually. HE REFUSED TO TAKE HELP. I ended up paying double for incompetent person.

Pros: I recently had surgery and the gentlemen gave me a ride to the Burbank Terminal as it was a long walk. Excellent service from the time I rented the car until the return.

Pros: Everything ran rather smoothly.
Cons: One must remember that when running for a cheaper rental car place they don't have as many cars. When I arrived and I had chosen for the full-size before hand, they only have SUVs, and did not have any car is of any size for an entire week, and when I came back and they had other cars, they would not change the price even if I picked a smaller room full-size car even after the inconvenience of driving of SUV with terrible gas mileage which of course they said would be the same as the car (haha). So THAT was bad all around.

Burbank Airport car rentals
Cons: The new car rental facility is missing a shuttle from the garage to the gates. The walking distance is still for the elderly and infirm despite the moving walkways. The rental companies should share the cost of few 6 passenger, electric carts used in large terminals. It's a real schlepp at Burbank especially for those dragging/carrying luggage.

Pros: Claire in the Burbank location is the best!!!
Cons: No one to check out car with me...would be good to point out dings etc before driving away.

LA Burbank airport
Pros: the car drove well.
Cons: the terminal is very far away from the airport in spite of the fact that the ad says it is INSIDE the terminal. Be prepared to walk a long way. The inside of the car was stained with all kinds of something. Every seat had brown satins on it.

Pros: Everything was great until it began to rain and we had to use the windshield wipers. They didn't work and this made our driving experience very dangerous and scary. I called Payless the day after we returned the car to tell them the wipers needed to be replaced, and the person who helped me didnt even care enough to look up my name to find out which car I had rented. I hope the next person who rents the car doesn't have to use the wipers.

Pros: I had a great experience picking up, driving, and returning the rental with Payless, I was even upgraded! Even though the car was quite dirty and scratched up on the outside with bugs all over the front end and small scratches all aroynd the drivers handle, I was still very happy with the service. THANKS!
Cons: The condition of the outside of the car.

Great guys, long walk
Pros: From the guys in the garage to the guy at the front desk, everyone was helpful and polite.
Cons: I didn't like not knowing the garage was a half mile from the terminal. I would have given myself more time.

Pros: No lines, upgrade in car size
Cons: Car wasn't in great shape, lots of body damage that wasn't noted prior to checking out. I had the gate guard do another report. Also, company signage isn't very obvious and was a little confusing.

They ran out of cars
Pros: The staff was really nice! The car was what I had asked for.
Cons: Our flight got delayed which made us 6 hours late for my reservation pick up time. When we got to the car rental counter, they said "sorry we ran out of the eco car that you reserved" YOU ARE LATE. I reminded them that I called them and told them we were late and to make sure they held my car. Long story short. It was a day from hell flying, and at the end of the day, there was ONE eco car left that was from another booking agency and they let us have it! I'm so greatful that this day ended wonderful! Thank you Payless!

Pros: Cheap, quick service from Burbank.
Cons: Car was possibly the ugliest green color I have ever seen. I tried to take it back for another car, but that was the only one they had in that price range and I was too cheap to upgrade.

Cons: The long walk from the terminal to car rental pick ups. There needs to be a shuttle.

Pros: Close to my hotels
Cons: From the beginning, employees were relentless to uncharge. My internet price was $140, and I was quoted $158 upon arrival. My credit card was swiped before I saw the paperwork. Upon delivery of car at location different than rental, I had to present ORIGINAL paperwork, or be charged "damage" fees. Very nasty all around. Will not be using this rental company again.....very dissatisfied.!!!

No one at the counter - Burbank
Cons: Arrived at the Payless counter around 7:00PM local time and no one was available to help me. Called the local number and the phone rang at the front desk but no one answered. I went to Mid-way rental and got my car.

Cons: I rang ahead to check with Payless that they would accept my debit card as opposed to a credit card and they assured me they would. However when I turned up to collect my rental car they said they could not accept my debit card. I was left to find another company that would and had to pay a much higher rental rate for the convenience.

Pros: The lady who did all the paper work at the rentalnoffice deserves a BIG PLUS as a person, advisor, gibing information. She was way too friendly, smiling all the time & gave us a lit of confidence. Thanks to her & you. I'm nit sure if her name is Claire
