Pickup, drop off office overwhelmed by summer travelers
    Pros: Car great, inexpensive
Cons: Wait. Long long line to process pick up - crowd became vocal with one customer shouting out to manager about scamming us because 'they had no cars and we'd be forced to rent remaining luxury vehicles' (manager explained it wasn't true), surly employee snapped back - 'Hertz is 3 doors down to the left'. Additionally, argument approached physical altercation between customers accusing another of cutting the line after he returned from restroom (he did!) Drop off lot swamped with people dropping off cars. Long wait for shuttle to pick up car as well - made to seem worse as shuttles from all competitors passed by multiple times.

    Poor service, nice car
    Pros: The price was right
Cons: Customer service at thrifty was very poor, and it was disappointing that an additional driver was $13/day :(

Wrong car, no info and no signage.
Cons: When the shuttle dropped us off at the desk (late at night 1:00) there was no one at the Thrifty desk. There were no signs directing us to another counter etc. After waiting for a while I saw a clerk from another company and asked if anyone was working the thrift desk. He said "oh you have to go up to the 3rd floor". The 3rd floor emptied off into the garage. I found the Thrifty booth, where there was 1 employee. The car I reserved was a Suburban....they had nothing in it's class. Only small SUVs...which we finally settled on. We loaded the car and drove 5 feet and had to wait another 15 minutes until the clerk finished with the next customer to walk over and open the gate for us to exit. When we returned the car the thrifty lot was closed 1:30am (no signage...just a car parked in the path). We (along with a security guard) circled the garage for 20 minutes looking for some sign that gave direction...nothing. The security guard then stated that we could leave the vehicle with one at the hertz check in so we are hoping that we were not charged the extra day (We returned the same time it was rented). Midway needs signage with the Thrifty desk

Pros: The car was clean and in good condition. Except for the cruise control, it was working fine. Also, Thrifty was able to provide me with a car even though I had reserved one at the wrong airport.
Cons: The cruise control didn't work. But the main problem was that somehow I was able to get through the whole reservation process on the Kayak website without noticing that I was reserving a car at Chicago Midway, not Chicago O'Hare. Although Thrifty was able to provide me a car in spite of my mistake, the cost was more than double what I thought I would be paying.
