Pros: The rental price for a small SUV
Cons: The Service light was on during my rental week, this light was on when I pick up the car. Cleaness of the interior of this SUV was very dusty. Windows where also not cleaned when vehicles was washed.

Cons: After making a reservation, 5 weeks prior to our trips, I was told they had no cars for me when I got to counter. They offered no alternatives options.

Pros: Pick up took nearly an hour and a half. The excuse that it's "spring break and everyone is busy" doesn't wash. Competitors next to us appeared to be moving customers through in 15 minutes or so. And I've flown in and out of that airport in March many many times in the past. The only difference was that I rented from Budget this time -- for the last time.

Rental beginning spring break
Pros: When we arrived at check-in we were warmly greeted (pun intended for Mainers coming to Florida!). We were offered a pretty awesome upgrade, but we didn't feel pressured after we declined. We were given a free upgrade anyways and were very impressed with our rental. A little frustration occurred when drop-off was only 3 hours in the middle of a Sunday, but it was very easy to extend the rental over the phone and the charges were minimal and I was very okay with it. Upon returning the car, I was congratulated on finding such a low fare at the beginning of spring break and told that I should have paid 3x the amount. Overall very happy with the experience.

Pros: Drop off was quick and easy
Cons: It was slow to get the car, 3 people I front of me in line took a while to get processed. . I was 3/4 of the way done with signing for the car when the customer service agent just walked away to attend to another customer who was having issues. i was left to stand there and wait for at least 5 minutes until the agent came back and printed my receipt. After a chaotic morning and delayed flight; waiting for a receipt put me over the edge a bit.

Pros: pick up went smoothly. agent explained all the options and responsibilities very clearly. the car was nice and clean, gas tank was full and the car ran well. When we returned it all went smoothly and efficiently.

Pros: Car was very new & clean.
Cons: Final cost was higher than when booked. Agent at desk implied that the insurance provided by Kayak (Allianz) was insufficient and I would need additional supplemental insurance during my rental--for an additional fee. I didn't appreciate the pushy sales tactic, and the check-in process took entirely too long, considering all my information was already on file.

Overall a good experience
Pros: Good rate, quick service,
Cons: With the cold weather, the low tire pressure light came on. When I mentioned it at the time of return, the agent did not seem to care and did not apologize.

Pros: The car and staff were good just like most rental companies. The reason I'm going to rent from budge again is the don't hide all kinds of charges and their fuel policy is worlds above the competition

Pros: It was just what we asked for. Great gas mileage.
Cons: Although it was physically clean, it smelled like a barn. Being my first time renting a car, the lady I had at the desk, explained almost nothing and I got most of my information from the person next to her, helping another couple. Also, a quick run through on features of the car would be helpful, for example when a car has no automatic headlights or a strategically place. It difficult to find gas door opener, very slow to accelerate also.

Car was full of fire ants
Cons: When we picked up our rental car we've noticed plenty of fire ants running on the outside of the vehicle. As soon as we opened the door we saw some on the floor and the seats. When we told the rental person, he told us that they are only on the outside. So we took the car due to our time limit. Soon enough, those insects started biting us, and they are also crawled into our luggages. So we took it back right away and we requested another car, or at least a full clean. We were told that there is no other minivan at their location and they are unable to clean the car. Since we didn't have any other option, we took it to the nearest car wash. When they cleaned the car, they told us that there were lots of food underneath the seats and they were covered with thousands of thousands of ants!!!!! We were not only upset about it, but our suitcases were ruined as well as we were covered with ant bites.... When we went back to the rental place to complain, we were told that both of the two people who rented us the car were fired over the weekend due to many complaints, but we were also advised to complain through email. We are very upset with Budget rental, so we aren't planning on renting from them again.

Communicated so No Surprises
Pros: They called as soon as we made our online reservation to tell us they did not have the class of car that we ordered so that we would not be disappointed. When we picked the car up, the class we had rented had been dropped off but not yet cleaned. We were give the option to take it or the lower class. Very good customer service!

Pros: Lot more features in the vehicle than expected. Great value. Great clean undamaged vehicle.
Cons: There were a lot of upgrades attempted. Usually when you rent a car you need to get where you're going, not haggle over additional costs and options.

Drop off craziness
Cons: My drop off location was at an unmarked office downtown Tampa by the convention center. I drove around in crazy traffic for half an hour looking for the drop off location. I eventually learned I had to go to the valet parking area of the Embassy Suites building. The city doesn't allow any signs or markings. THERE REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NOTE SOMEWHERE IN THE PAPERWORK.

Cons: I raced here to return my car in time to avoid charges and they were closed. I called customer service and they said I had to bring it back in the morning. I rented my car early and returned it within 24 hours and they still charged me the additional hours. I explained it to the attendant and he didn't care. He would not adjust the bill.

Cons: Car had stains in the seat and rips in the material.

Didn't get the size car I reserved
Pros: Easy to do.
Cons: Car had scratches on front bumper. I assumed that was documented, but found nothing in the paperwork I was given. I took time-and-date photos for my protection, but feel I should not have to do that.
