Water bottle and madeleine drop off in the evening. Breakfast is delicious with a huge variety of food. Pastries are good - too good! And the staff. Seriously, the sweetest, most thoughtful, kind, and accommodating people. To the managers, you are lucky to have such great people representing your hotel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all at the front desk, evening shift, and housekeeping. Merci beaucoup.

Cons: No kettle in the room! Yes, there is coffee (for purchase at breakfast-time) in the lobby. But some of us need caffeine to prepare to get to the lobby in the morning! The bathroom pipes could be loud when other guests are showering. But otherwise the soundproofing seemed fine.

Wish we had gone to Paris for a longer stay - next trip we'll book this hotel again. The location was perfect and right by a major metro line. Cons: We ordered two taxis to take me to the airport and my friends to gare de lyon. I left in my taxi and my friends were waiting for theirs and it never came. The front desk told them it wasnt coming and to take a bus. They walked to the main road and found a taxi an hour later than they originally had scheduled and nearly missed their train. This is a huge problem when a strike is going on. How knows when they would have gotten a train back to Switzerland had they missed the one they were booked on. Not good!

Pros: The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty. We had a balcony on the fourth floor which was a nice touch. Also the shower is big for a European hotel.
Cons: The light switches are a complicated puzzle consisting of two main switches that must be turned on at all times in order for any other night and a couple of plugs to work. We found one of the main switches on the first night. Unfortunately, on the last night we returned from dinner to discover none of our lights would turn on. When we requested help from the front desk, a guy came up, tried a few switches and basically told us "sorry about your luck."
The next day I addressed the situation with the front desk and that's when we discovered the OTHER main switch that has to be turned on at all times. So when I asked the lady at the desk why the man from last night didn't fix it, her response was "well, he's new." Not a great answer. We didn't even recieve an apology. Pros: For the price, I was impressed. Definitely a budget hotel, so don't expect luxury. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom has a lot of mirrors which was nice. The employees at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. TV in the room was nice to have in the evening.
Cons: The elevator was extremely slow and left me waiting for a long time and the street below my window was kind of noisy in the morning. The hotel location is not near the major Paris attractions so you have to spend a lot of time on the metro.

Pros: We stayed at the Hotel Mercure for our anniversary and were delighted with the accomodations. The hotel was beautiful and the room was clean, comfortable, modern and well appointed. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always going the extra mile to provide outstanding service. The Hotel Mercure has larger rooms than we have seen in Paris and even has several dedicated accessible rooms for differently abled guests.
For travelers from out of town, the hotel is very conveniently located, close to two different metro lines and the bus. Within three blocks there are several fine restaurants and brasseries, three grocery stores, and a wide variety of shops, bakeries and boutiques. Most of the hotel staff speak very good English if you are still working on learning French. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Paris.

Pros: The room was clean and hotel staffs were friendly and really helpful. The location of the hotel was great, within a 5 minutes walk from multiple public transport stations. The neighbourhood was safe to roam around any time of the day.
Cons: The speed of the service. Calls to operator and room service were mostly unanswered. I had to come down to the lobby to put in request to the room. On the plus note, hotel staffs were attentive and offered great service.

Pros: The location, the comfortable beds, the breakfast.
Cons: Invisible reception - no notice, no desk turned out to be a girl in jeans on her computer. Seating area with all the charm of a poor quality second hand shop. The whole set-up made us feel uncomfortable and out of place. Standard room with a bath too small to use and dangerous - no hand holds and not even the possibility of using the edge of the bath to get up, because of the fixed shower screen. Dangerous as a shower because you have to step over the bath edge onto a wet slope, because of the fixed shower screen. So 2 health and safety violations in one unit. No towel rails and no hot radiator and yet the fatuous notice about reusing towels. How do you dry them? No hooks for wet coats. Just 1 hook for a dressing gown. Room let for 2 but only 1 comfortable chair. No toiletries in the bathroom, not even soap. We were moved to a Prestige room because of the dangerous shower. This so-called Prestige room had less storage than the Standard and a toilet in the bathroom whereas the Standard room had better storage and a separate toilet. The Prestige room had a Nespresso machine but the coffee and paper cups were not replaced because the maid didn't have any replacements. Dressing gowns and slippers only in Prestige rooms - and this in a hotel that believes it is 4 star. The bedside tables were tiny round tables, too small and without storage. The only other table was also small and round and inadequate. I pity anyone who has to work or eat on the table. Every sign of poor management and of no attempt to think of what a couple need for comfort or utility. The designer should never be used in another hotel. Altogether a very badly thought-out and run hotel. Avoid.

Pros: Friendly and speedy check in procedure. The room was ideal for our family of four while on our short trip to Paris. The location was great with lots of restaurants and shops and a supermarket nearby. The family room we were in had bunks for the kids and a door separating the main room from where the kids were sleeping which was a nice surprise. Great public transport links. Cons: Fairly noisy due to the adjacent place de Catalogne. Not the most exciting location in terms of restaurants and bars, but not too far away either. The room was generally quite clean, except that somehow they never bothered to clean around some of the light switches or outlets, which had consequently built up a gross layer of sticky dust.

Pros: The beds in this hotel were very comfortable and some of the best we have ever had in Europe. The black out curtains were awesome, especially if you are suffering with jet lag. This room was very clean and it was very quiet.
Cons: This was our first trip to Paris and we weren't familiar with the city. This Hotel was a little out of the way but it made up for it because we slept so good because it was quieter not being in the middle of all of the city noise.

Cons: The bathroom. Unless you are quite short, your knees will hit the radiator in front of the seat, have to seat at an angle not fitting well, in a natural position for the business

Cons: The room was very very small and the bathroom looked pretty old and dirty. In the bathroom, there is one product, which is a shampoo and shower gel at the same time. The view from the room was on the wall of the house. During check-in, you have to fill in the questionnaire on a tablet about you, which is quite long. I do not understand why it is not possible to send you a questionnaire before check-in.

Cons: There were so many issues. I booked two bedrooms to treat my friends to a nice time in Paris. Their bathroom had ants crawling on the floor, and our bathroom had a potent sewage/sulfur smell! Completely disappointed. The rooms were cramped as well.

Pros: Pleasantly Parisian from the outside and in the communal areas but while the rooms are perfectly acceptable they do have a corporate Travelodge feel to them rather than being intrinsically French. The location opposite the Gare Montparnasse was exactly what I needed to continue by TGV next day to the South West, and the proximity to central Paris took 20-30 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower and on to Notre Dame.

Cons: There was construction which is understandable buttt there was no help from the front desk as to getting out to find the other entrance. Nor any assistance with even holding the door with my 2 carryon baggage. I asked where to get the bus to the airport and was only directed to the train station (which is across the street) but no info as to which side to get the bus!

Cons: Ohh boy, let's go for a ride ! Ok so like I'm hoping this hotels get renovated pretty soon. All the standard were wrong. The bathroom is too tiny and I'm not really buff but I couldn't stand between the hairdryer and the shower, shower so tiny I kept hitting the glass door, couldn't spread my legs sitting on the toilet. No smoke detector in the room, no outlets close from the bed. No air-conditioning in the room there was a fan. Now the staff I left the do not disturb during my stay and once someone from the housekeeping came into the room ? Luckily I was inside otherwise don't know what could have happened... When I arrived in the room only one towel, I ask the receptionist in charge and 1hour later I get it, like it take 1 hour to climb 3 floors ?? When I checked-in, the receptionist didn't explain anything about the hotel or the area. The night audit during the weeks didn't even bother to ask my room number when I came back after midnight, could have been just a random from the street and try my luck. Felt safe ! And cherry on the top, one of the creamer for the coffee was outdated, could have been sick !
