The location. My wife and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera playing next door at the Cadillac Palace. I can't say enough about the convenience of having the hotel next door. no having to walk blocks to our vehicle. Walked down the sidewalk and into the hotel, was able to avoid the cold Chicago weather. The Room. We stayed in Room 405. Our view out of the 2 windows, the first was a brick wall, the second, an alley way. At about 2am, for some reason the windows decided they wanted to bang against the frame endlessly, not allowing neither my wife or I to sleep. The bed was definately not a King Bed, and for it being a Premier Room, I would have expected the bathroom to be bigger than the size of a closet. I can't say I wouldn't stay here again, but would want to see the room before check-in.

Great hotel, great service, great room. Couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Allegro The booking site Amoma.com gave me an invalid confirmation number, and since the hotel was already full for the second half of my stay, I ended up quite stressed out and dragging my luggage around for a full day until the hotel had a cancellation and I was able to stay. Amoma.com was very responsive and professional when they finally responded (I think they're based in Switzerland), and I think some third party was responsible for the booking problem, but regardless, my stay was more distressing than I had hoped for. If you have a choice, I would recommend booking with another agency for this location.
This review is not a negative review of the hotel. Rather it is a result of a horrible experience with kayak and their vendors. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was told at the front desk my reservation did not exist. After showing them several emails from kayaks vendors, they told me those confirmation numbers did not exist if that was the fifth person with the same issue booking through kayak that day. After several hours on the phone with no successful resolution with kayaks vendors, my partner was finally able to secure a room for us at another hotel. We are still trying to resolve this issue with. I will not be booking through kayak again.
Rooms were incredibly tiny. Elevators did not work.

The receptionist messed up my receipt.I used my company's card to stay and I am the only person who stay in the hotel.And when checking out,I just asked for the receipt but didn't check it.after coming back,I have to use the receipt to do my reinbursement,but found out that it is not under my name and the stay person wrote down two,which looks pretty bad on me!i called the hotel to change the receipt name,they refused it bc it is a past reservation! The most annoying thing is that when I checked out using the compan card,I asked them if it is ok to pay with a card not under my name.they didn't say anything.and the worst thing is that the receptionist change the name of my reservation in the system and didn't tell me about it.moreover,the receipt amount doesn't match my reservation amount which is also ridiculous!!!All in all, this experiment almost cost me to not be able to reinburse my stay. They r obviously not professional and it gives me a really bad memory here!
Luxurious hotel The room is much smaller than it seems in the photos. Walls are super thin which makes privacy very difficult. Expect to hear your neighbors.
I like the service at the front desk There were several employees at check in making sure no one is waiting. Rooms are excellent. They even upgraded me to a suite. Their executive lounge was extremely crowded and service was very poor there. Food was not getting replenished in time.

location was ok, although there are so many hotels downtown its not like you dont have choice way to expensive for what you get, i wouldnt stay here again for $220 night, i'm sure there is something better. rooms are typical 1994, boring patched up, siliconed but clean. if it was $120 a night then i might be ok. food at the restaurant was average but trying to be fancy, picture costco chicken parmesan all dressed up with wait staff in black trying to hard to be mod.
Clean room, quick check in/out. It was a little difficult to navigate building because front desk is on an upper floor.
Nothing Paid for standard room and was told that's a sleeper couch in a room that is really the living room for a suite. Room also smelled like cat urine, couldn't stay there, booked a room at Hotel Intercontinental on Michigan Ave and was treated to a nice room and free breakfast.

The location is good, slightly away from the bustle of Michigan Avenue, but not too far. Everything is within walking distance and in a nice area. Nice, friendly staff. It would have been great to have a mini refrigerator in the room and the room temperature was a bit colder than my comfort level.

I like the location the best. Breakfast was ok but maybe offer more choices. Room had a mold smell and door locks were very loud when closing.

I travel to Chicago several times a year and I have to stay this was the best hotel I've ever stayed at. It is modern, clean, quiet and very centrally located. The most impressive thing is the staff. Everyone (from the front desk, to the cleaning ladies, etc.) is extremely helpful, polite (always say "hi"), ... I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
I loved our stay. So chic with a cool, modern, vibe. My kinda place. As a city girl, I appreciated the slanted bathtub that fully covered my body. It was nice to take a bath. Being on the inside of the courtyard was perfect for light coverage and news coverage. The bed was super comfortable and the room, no small, was hip and wonderful. We stayed for New Years Eve and just walked to all the festivities. It was perfect.! If people were loud, or had more than 5 people in a room, you could hear them through the wall clearly. You can also hear clearly outside the door. Also, the plumbing makes for great water pressure, but the downside is that you can hear loud plumbing through the walls when someone runs a bath or shower above you.
1) Walls were so thin, we could hear neighbors talking on phone or to each other. 2) The sheets/bedding were like sand paper. I am not spoiled, so believe me when I say, that for a hotel of this price, they could have at least used a better quality of bedding. 3) The design of the hotel (rooms and common areas) is "tacky modern" -- Not sure who thought this looked work? 4) In short, spend your $250 else where and get a much better experience. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give this stay a 5.

Very posh, clean and pleasant stay. Will stay at this place again in the future. Being a very busy weekend during our stay, only a king bed was available instead of the double bed we requested. Reception was very nice and sent us a roll away bed without charge.

Everything was in working order, staff was super friendly & professional. From the valet to the concierge to the bartender, they all made us feel taken care of! They asked the reason for our stay & we said it was our friends bday. They sent up a bottle of wine & a dessert for the bday girl. I was asked whether I wanted my receipt printed or emailed and I said emailed. I haven't received it so idk what my bill is yet :-/
They gave me a bigger room when they found out it was my birthday. The room is nice. The lobby is spectacular. I could have spent a day relaxing in the Living Room. No problems really. Not much of a view.
It's in the financial district downtown, the only con is location, it's very close to wills tower, millennium park, etc Rooms are extremely small, you can barely move around the bed, the bathroom as close to no space for putting your makeup or curling iron etc. the noise level is bad, at 03:00am Sunday night early Monday morning some girl was screaming and shouting on the phone, telling her friend or family to come get her. Unacceptable this went on for at least 15 minutes, I wanted to call security on her.
Downtown location. Liked the Bliss toiletries. Modern touches to the room like the uplighting under the bed and illuminated art. Very cool lobby and bar. Very small sink. Dated room. View of a back alley from our room. Small bed, no coffee maker. Small room. Way over priced for the quality.
We enjoyed the location We didn't like the initial room. It smelled terrible and was tiny. The bathroom door was an inch from the toilet when it opened and there was no room to put our bags.
Beautiful hotel with a great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I expected more for the price. We were upgraded when we checked in, which gave us a larger room. The bar in the front lobby was extremely expensive, had it not been so overpriced we would have spent more time there.
Loved the modern room designs, layout, and furnishings. Very helpful, friendly staff. Great location to access downtown and the "L" to see the rest of Chicago. The bathroom didn't seem to have a fan to get rid of shower steam.
Stay here every time we are in Chicago. Nice having a balcony. Parking is $43 per night. Way too high when we walk everywhere we go.
Close to United Center, Greektown and Randolph St.restaurants. There was construction going on in the parking lot that you see in the picture above,therefore there was no parking on site and the noise from construction started at 7 AM. Way too loud to sleep.....and we requested a late check out so we could sleep in after a Blackhawks playoff game!!!LOL LOL LOL. Couldn't take it and left by 10:30.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was fantastic, love the balcony. Thank you for a hotel chain finally realizing that not all people are 5 foot 8 inches tall, it was nice to be able to shower without having to squat to wash my hair, kudos for the adjustable shower heads. Having to pay to park in the lot of the hotel i was already paying to stay in.
My family and me stated at your establishment for one night on Sept 15. Beautiful hotel, great accommodations and conveniently located. Really appreciate your wonderful service Couldn't stay longer

The entry was a bit confusing. You enter the building, travel up to the 4th floor, where you either go right or left. One way, you are in the Hampton Inn lobby. The other, you are in the Homewood Suites. After that, everything from arrival to checkout was smooth... ... except the toilet paper and facial tissue, which resembled (what I imagine) what they used in Eastern Europe before the fall of the Iron Curtain. Surely Hilton Worldwide could afford to spend a few more pennies on softer paper products.
Location near downtown and cta, room and bathroom cleaness. Hotel don't have lift. The climbing at 3rd floor after travel from Europe with 15 kg luggage only for full fit PEOPLE.The recception desk's worker was not interested how guest reach her/his room.

This is ok if you aren't too fussy and can go with the flow. It's a bed for the night and is warm but that's about it. The big plus is the common area - free internet and big plasma screen TV. You have to go into a resteraunt and ask for the owner to come down which can take some time and isn't ideal if you've been traveling for a while. They had no record of my booking and made me feel like they were put out to have me there. It seems they are still doing building work in the halls, there are no hair dryers and the toilet cubicles are tiny.
The breakfast was ok. No elevators, and the building is old and squeaky, very small, not enough showers, internet was slow, construction on building during stay

The sheets were clean and nice. We were not aware that the hotel was a hostel. Bathroom facilities down the hall. Room was bare. We had a room on the third floor with no elevator service. My husband had a soft cast on his foot and needed to walk with a cane. No staff to help us with luggage.

The room is very clean and comfortable...although the bathroom was the shared facility, the cleanness was beyond my expectation...the hotel is located in the Greektown, pubic transit is accessible within walking distance...the hotel staffs were nice, friendly and helpful...all in all it was very good value for money... The building has several stories and does not have a lift. So if you have a lot of bags, it could be quite some exercise taking them up to your room.
