The best was the PH jacuzzi balcony
The location is excellent and the staff is very nice. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and spacius. If we come back to Miami we will probably repeat this hotel. We liked everything. It helped to have a great time in Miami.
Great hotel even though some facilities were not available due to refurbishment, we were given a free upgrade as compensation with a roof terrace with jacuzzi
very good location, confort big rooms, pritty hotel staff
Loved that they gave free breakfast and two free drinks during happy hour. Plus the beach was across the street. The room was very small and outdated. The a/c wall unit was very loud and would walk you up when it would turn off and on. Was hard the adjust the shower to a good temperature and every two minutes while talking a shower it would go from cold the very very hot real fast.
Excellent service. Nice and warm staff. Delicious food. Check in & check out fast and agile.
Location of the hotel is brilliant, bang in the middle of SoBe, the deco and names of the rooms are brilliant and innovative, love the fact that they leave next day's weather prediction and choclates on your pillow every evening Rooms are small
Excellent location. If you want to be in the middle of the action this is a great location Rooms could use some updating. Most of the street noise was filtered out but there was more guest noise than I would have expected. Décor is definitely eclectic. They had incense in the hallways which was very strong - gave us both headaches.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are too small.
Interesting and quirky decor. Very good shower, comfortable room, surprisingly quit given its location. Staff friendless. Breakfast surprisingly good Parking is a hassle, can get tiring walking through an aggressively marketed bar/restaurant to get to your room. But pretty much every hotel on the strip has those issues
Great hotel for the price. NO BUGS!!! Everything was great except the bed. The bed was really HARD!!
The room was nice and clean. N/A
The hotel was great; service was top notch; i would absolutley recommend this hotel to someone looking to stay on ocean ave...location is in the middle of everything there is no pool, however the hotel provides outstanding beach ammenities for free (great comfy chairs and towles) The valet service was the only bad part of my stay at the pelican. i was told to call for my car 20 minutes ahead of when i needed it. It took an hour on one occasion and 45 minutes on another. I recommend that if you have dinner reservations call an hour in advance for your car.
The staff extremely friendly. The hotel very clean. The decor of the room was tasteful. Beach front a plus, free towels to the beach and 2 chairs at the beaching waiting on you. Great experience and would recommend to friends. No pool in the hotel.
Very happy with the location, room service, food, staff. Nothing
Beach towels and chairs are included, the location was perfect and the restaurant, although expensive was excellent! Nothing
Not much. The room is super small and the location is about 20-30 mins away from the 'hot spots' of Miami Beach. Granted, the hotel is pretty expensive, I would rather book a place closer to the restaurants/beach. Also, I found stains on the sheets/pillow covers.
The staffs are very nice. Although they could not provide the double-bed room, they upgrade my room to suite with no more charges. The beds and toilets are very comfortable. The breakfast is more or less expensive.

The view from our hotel room was spectacular, right in front of the ocean Very long wait to check in AND out
I just like the view but i had to pay extra for it. Over charges, hotel fee, pool fee, beach fee. For everything they have a fee. One of the worst customer service. The sink was cloak and call for to fix, that happend the very first hour we got to the hotel, by check out the sink was not uncloak yet, and we last 3 days 2 nights.
This place has history and location. They have done some nice updates to furnishings and the rooms and common areas are spacious. Tiki bar was our favorite. Customer service was polite but seemed to be disorganzied and advantageous. We had issues both with check in and check out. We paid for a deluxe room and was given a less then standard room. The upgrades are minimal to the room and in need of new paint and trim. Room smelled musty. Bathroom counter was stained, the one blanket in the room was old and crusty feeling. Was very disappointed in lack of furnishings in our room, poor use of space. As well as the noise. Tweens and teens were running and laughing up and down the halls at all hours. We called security. Still no change. Had to turn on music as a distraction to sleep. Noise did not stop till almost 3am. Also there was a 3 inch space between our door and threshold and we could hear everything. Worst night sleep ever. I hope they get some money to become what they could be and all I am sure they want to be. Highly suggest they do some two tone painting on the main structure to create some depth to the architectural details around the window, a large mural on the wall to the farthest right of the pool. A concrete stain to the patio area would be a great upgrade as well.
The staff was awesome. We wanted a "street view". We got a nice view of the roof. A lot of broken glass & sludge to look at. In order to take a shower we had to lodge 1 of the complimentary shampoo bottles in the drain. We are only 5'5" in height & our feet hung off the bed while laying down. No blankets. Had to ask for them. The towels, bed sheets & the blankets didn't smell clean at all. The restrooms in the lobby smelled like someone cleaned with a dirty rag. Being a historical hotel, one would think it would be well taken care of.
I liked how close the beach was to the hotel I didn't like how when I arrived to the hotel, my boyfriend and I checked in and the room that was given to us was a double queen bedroom. On the site I booked the room from, it has the option on a double queen or single king bedroom and we weren't offered a choice. We ended up complaining to the front desk about it and they gave us a single King room.
The bed was comfortable\ I liked the indoor bar Waterview was good Shower was small and lacked basic amenities
It was conveniently close to stores and other bars. I love the music (jazz) station on one of the TV channels. This hotel has seen better days in its heyday and its living off of the legacy of what it used to be. There weren't any happy hours at the poolside bar. Towel station shuts down at 6 pm. Plus, a none refundable $25.00 resort fee per day. Guess what, I didn't use any of the amenities. This hotel needs a major overhaul and I'm not talking about a fresh coat of paint and a new conforter.
Right on the beach.. Big plus Misleading...extra charges for everything $19 for breakfast $30 each day for parking $25 a day for resort services.. Rooms very dirty.. Will never go there again and would not recommend it to my worst enemy..!!!
No blankets on beds, costs $30 per night to park your car off site. Rooms are very run down. Nothing is maintained like it should be. Don't waste your money here.
How the cleaning staff took my towel.
Perfect location, beautiful pool. No internet. Very hard mattress.
The hotel was close to the beach and had a cool pool area. We took their last reservation of the night at their nice restaurant and despite spending $150-200 on a bottle of wine and steaks, we were told to hurry up and order as soon as we got there because "the kitchen was closing". It wasn't very classy. Our statement at checkout also had some BS extra charges we had to dispute. More hassle than it was worth except for the nice location.
Beautiful pool, lobby, bar and restaurant. Perfectly decent, if slightly outdated, rooms. A very nice place to spend a weekend. Lots of fees and very expensive valet parking only, but I think that's true of all hotels in the area. Their website could be a little more informative.
Location is great. Short walk to beach and Raleigh has beach chairs towels there as part of resort fee. Pool is big - lounge chairs in pool which are cool. Good food in restaurant - a little expensive but worth it. Empanadas were excellent. Get breakfast at Rosetta Bakery which is close by instead of expensive breakfast at hotel. Had to pay $19 for umbrella at beach. Asked for early check-in. Arrived at 1:30 and had to wait until after 3 for room.
Nice "Old Miami" feel to it, pool area was nice with all the tropical palms surrounding It . Good coffee shop and pastries Out door bars should have some mounted fans for customers also not just the bartenders, felt outdoor lounges also could have been nicer with some color to them , white is boring, , a few small shelves in bathrooms would be nice to place your toiletries !! We stayed here and walked to the SLS a block south and sat at their bar everyday was a cool vibe, but I would stay here again !! We did order 2 glasses of wine in the Martini bar area asked for a glass of water also when we order but didn't get it, asked again but same bartender again forgot ??? Either has short term memory loss or just didn't want to do it??we even tipped addition to what is added
I have been staying at The Raleigh for years as it had always lived up to its self proclaimed title of the "grand dame" of south beach. Sadly if current management continues in the direction witnessed during my stay over the 4th, The Raleigh as we knew it is gone. Before this last nightare of a stay I would have described The Raleigh as romantic, beach/waterfront, boutique but now I would describe it as having poor service, poor management, poor cleanliness. The interesting part was that everyone working there knew it was awful, it seemed the upper level management/decision makers for the property were off site for the weekend or perhaps hiding as it was that bad. The Raleigh gave a promoter license to utilize the grounds for a two day fourth of July party however did not alert any guests of it. Had we and every other guest we encountered during our stay had known we would have booked elsewhere. It was a nightmare, there was no service for hotel guests, the pool was crammed and dirty/disgusting. There was a DJ with brain rattling base music blasting from morning to night.
The Raleigh captures the romantic appeal of a classic Miami beach-front hotel, with a welcoming lobby, luxurious pool and friendly staff. However, the guest rooms are tiny and cramped, with claustrophobic bathrooms (and ants in the sink drain) and no fridge or coffee maker. Also, the cost for valet parking ($39/night + tax) was exorbitant, but at least they didn't tack on a separate resort fee to our bill.
I loved the pool! The restaurant was also great the food was yummy and the service was great. I also liked the concierge he was really helpful. The staff in general were really friendly and helpful. The Art Deco feel threw me off a bit as I'm used to staying in hotels that are a bit more modern. I wished that the room had a little fridge to put my refreshments like they typically do at other hotels.
Nothing Unfriendly staff Small rooms Not worth it for the price
rooms, pool, service
Beautiful art deco hotel. Awesome pool, pool deck and access to the beach. Great for lap swimming and hanging out. Staff was helpful, really friendly, courteous and prompt. Close to great restaurants and clubs. Dulce, across the street in the Gale has excellent Italian food. Rooms and systems in serious need of updating. Although clean, rooms are fairly small and attention to detail was not great. Worst was the clanging pipes all night long. We had to turn on the fan to overcome the constant banging. We thought it was the elevator but other guests had the same problem. AC barely functioned on last night. The TV had so much static we could not use it and screen res was terrible.
What I liked about this hotel was that it was smack dab in between Miami Beach and and South Beach so it was close to the boardwalk if you wanted to walk to to the beaches or walk up or down Collins Ave, and the other thing I liked was that it was value for your money, only a block away there is a supermarket store on 27 and Collins and they also sell cuban meals which was very good and cheap....,I also liked the fact that when we came home at night from partying in south beach it was tranquil and a place of solace knowing you wouldn't have to deal with any noise pollution. Breakfast was okay it could be better.....
nice staff, nice environment. impossible to find a parking
Cool hostel with pool and bar right next to the beach
Only one thing was good: women from reception was very friendly and helpful Hotel is very very old, upper conditoner was leaking to our conditioner all the time (sometimes they tryed to fix this problem by puting a towel on it) and bathroom is really old and most things didnt worked well. breakfast musted to be untill 10.00 but at 09.20 usually was no coffee, restoran didnt work, pool bar also. the price for this hotel is too hight.
The lobby and pool area are great. Friendly staff. I stayed in a women's quad and a woman's 8 bunk dorm. Both very clean and orderly. Could use some minor upgrades for the seating. Since it's so humid in Florida I would suggest mildew, resistant chairs. The ones they have now trap moisture and smell a little. This hostel is located directly across the street from the bus stop, beach and boardwalk which is an easy bike ride or walk down famous Collins Ave (hotel district). The hostel rents bikes - the first 2 hours are FREE). The free daily breakfast is excellent. Fresh fruit, pastries, assortment teas, cereal and oatmeal. More than enough to fill your belly and take some for the road. There is a restaurant on site but I didn't eat there. If your budget is tight and you need a decent friendly hostel near to everything (especially if you are on foot), stay here. The bathrooms in the women's quad need UPGRADING! They have old-fashioned tubs that catch grime and the drains look gross. The toilets and sinks are older. I also stayed in an 8-bed room and the bathrooms were much nicer. The lines at the front desk can be long since there are typically only 2 staff, BUT they are friendly so don't argue!
I was impressed by the design of the hotels and its rooms as well as its restaurant.
Location, beach and municipal transport really good polystyrene cups for the morning coffee.
Best deal in Miami. Great staff, great pool, prime location. Broken Shaker is dope too.
Location near beach. Good breakfast. Rooms were well equipped, clean and beds were comfortable Noisy when bar is open Not so appropriate for family with small kids
Need more hearty breakfast
Nothing fancy but clean and the beds are very good. Neat design, the location isn't bad, and it has a pool and a nice garden. The drink prices are very high
Everything perfect. Bathroom in the room - clean - great breakfast - garden and nice area outside to have breakfast - swimming pool - team very nice Not so many stores around - no more coffee and/or tea after 10am
it is unique boutique not standard. nice touches -- homey yet clean beautiful grounds no

I love this hotel! The staff is excellent and the location is close to everything you want to see in Miami!
My wife really enjoyed the fact that our room had a stairs in it & we were only two blocks from the strip on South Beach. The entire experience was GREAT!! We got there pretty early & couldnt check-in early but that isnt the fault of the hotel. The hotel was nice enough to hold our bags until our room was ready.
Best location and great atmosphere!
Location was ideal, located just off the main strip. Easy walk to beach, shops, and restaurants. Boutique style hotel was perfect - had a great feel. No.
I like the location being really close to the beach They didn't have enough beach towns for everyone who stays there, you have to come down to the front desk early to ask for it, otherwise it will be gone by the afternoon. Room service is slow, by 3:30 pm after we came back from breakfast & walking around, our room wasn't clean yet. With the price that we paid, it would be nice to include breakfast on site and/or shuttle service to the airport.
Location was good as it's close to everything South Beach has to offer but that's about it. The hotel rooms are extremely small and cramped and they tried too hard to make it look trendy and there is no full wall or glass between the room and the bathroom so not only can you see the person in the bathroom using the toilet but you can also hear every air biscuit they let out, every wipe and smell it. I mean cmon, first you have tiny rooms that I would expect in a 3 star hotel in NYC but how can you put people in those tiny rooms and leave a completely open bathroom with no walls or privacy... smh. The service was also rough, I think the girl who checked us in said her computer crashed 4 times and we had to spend about 25 minutes checking in which should have taken about 5 minutes. The checking stations had older laptops, they got this whole hotel completely wrong and I would never go back.
Location, cleanliness, interior design, customer service and price.
Amazing. I loved the happy hour and the rooftop pool with the dj. The beds were amazing and comfortable. I did wake up with a couple bug bites on my leg which concerned me but that could have been anything. Also the bamboo area was nice :)
Nice staff Only reason why I gave lower stars is due to being kept up all night from the music coming from the club next to the building. This alone ruined the stay for me. Could not relax. Slept about 2.5 hours.
Watch out for hidden fees!
Almost everything! Pretty high resort fee, but this includes a happy hour from 7-8 where ALL drinks are free. And they don't mess around with the orders. Orders during happy hour are fulfilled quickly. Also there's a free airport shuttle, which takes kind of long (45 mins) so plan ahead! Pool looks okay, but we didn't use it. Just minutes away from the actual beach. Three nice buildings, clean rooms - just a little bit of smell probably due to the high humidity. AC had a control panel, but didn't change anything. Staff was really friendly. Resort fee was charged, even though our reservation already had them included. I sent an email about this, we'll see..
The hotel was in a good location and included beach chairs with the rooms. There was loud music playing at the restaurant next door 24 hours a day, the staff was disorganized and assigned us a room that already had people staying in it. The rooms keys NEVER worked, we had to get new keys at least 7 times during our stay. The rooms were tiny and the ac didn't seem to work. There wasn't a bathroom fan so it got muggy in the room after every shower. There is no easy way to get ice at all. It was just very disorganized and inconvenient.
Great location , nice rooms , great staff
The facilitiy was good, although bedroom was too dark, beds good comfortable. Location Amazing, customer service intermediate. Some employees were tough. The downstairs pool was great, but needs a bar. Overall good
Excellent service. Great staff and good restaurants. Pool bar on roof is great. This is by far the best deal for a boutique in south beach. Not too noisy not too quiet. Valet is $35 everywhere in south beach. I that's too much, walk up 17 street 500m to the city parking garage and park for 20/night. There's nothing cheaper within a mile. Is what it is. I read all the reviews and was shocked a what some people were saying. Yes the rooms are small but the buildings are from the 30's. It is not the ritz, it's a well priced boutique hotel easy walking to everything south beach is. I came here for 2 days, have now stayed a week. If you want new run of the mill marriott or Sheraton, enjoy paying $350 a night. When I decided to extend my stay the staff actually worked with me to navigate some of the many online apps to find the best deal. This hotel is more for the going out crowd or solo traveller or under 40's couples. Some posters griped about the reception being a different building, really???? It's all of 15 steps door to door. I've had longer walks in some airport hotels to the elevator. Drive up and down south beach and price other places then come here, it's the best deal in south beach collins hands down. It's what I expected. The staff is limited on what rates they can give you, it's up to you to shop around and make sure you're getting the best price. I'm a mid 30's oil and gas engineer and don't have 500$ a night for south beach. Having said that this is perfect. The hallways aren't new and the cleaning staff can seem loud because the doors don't seal out noise all that great. Parking everywhere here is a challenge, welcome to south beach. If you don't pay, you'll be hiking.
I liked that they keep you posted on the hottest clubs for the night and give you a great deal to attend. I didn't like that the beach package didn't not include an umbrella, had to pay for the umbrella separate which is a little costly just for an umbrella.
I appreciated how they let me check in early and check out late. I also liked how they upgraded my room when I mentioned the room I was first put in was a little bit loud. Some rooms are louder then others
The bell men and bar tenders were great for the most part. Only had on crabby out front guy.. The e-cart guys were wonderful and that was so nice...I would stay again just because of them! The drinks were outrageously priced! Our coffee was never replaced in the room and the fact it was only instant coffee and no complementary coffee in the lobby was sad...also no breakfast and not really a cheap place to get some nearby...that was not good
Central location, friendly staff, useful parking (10$) price a bit high but,...it's Miami Beach!!!!!!!!
Poor staff relationship, too noisy due to bars under the hotel, problem with bath sinks, not worth the money paid.
The location Very noisy. All night long and in the morning (garbage collection). They could have had double glazing and it would have been much better
there is only one towel per person/size as something between bath and face towel no hair dryer no shampoo no iron the rooms are smaller than how there look at the site review
The location -The room was advertised a a double budget. Got there it was only one bed. When i asked about it the front desk manager said he did not know what to tell me and no more rooms were available -Saw two or so small roaches in the room -There was a stain on the sheet when we first arrived -The room had a really old musty smell -Room was not cleaned everyday
The location! Hart from South Beach. Near gayscene.Great restaurants nearby. Big rooms. Cleaning off the bathroom could be better. Not a hotel if you want to go to bed early (noise off the restaurants outside). No WiFi at the room.
Location in the Spanish area and close to the beach. Our room had the cutest balcony overlooking restaurants. There was a guest laundry & kitchen. Bathroom, Towels and Bedding all clean. Staff helpful and organised a great tour of the Everglades for us. A long way from town, cost of cab from Amtrak to the Clay was horrendous.
This was nowhere in my kayak booking info. It was not optional, and it was in the middle of a neighborhood blocks from the beach. It was ostensibly to cover the continental breakfast and wifi. These things were advertised as free in the add. Dishonest advertising and not worthy of my business for any repeat visits.
The AC was nice and strong. Room was nice. Location was even closer to the beach than we expected and, although touristy, in a really fun area with lots of restaurants. Also enjoyed the discount offered at many of those restaurants. Enjoyed having a safe to use to put our minds at ease. Recently remodeled room. LOVED having beach chairs and umbrella to use on the beach! That made our trip! The continental breakfast was full of cheap, simple carbohydrates with little else. We went twice during our week long stay. Housekeeping did not always restock our room with amenities, i.e. coffee, soap, etc. Would have been nice to have a dresser to put our clothes and the room was pretty small.
Excellent value for the money. One of the most reasonably priced rooms in South Beach and one of the best locations.
The boutique Deco styling and its great location on a restaurant-filled walking street. No shampoo offered in the bath, limited towels, basic Euro amenities.
would stay their anytime im in town again.
the room was fairly clean and the cleaning crew was helpful. The front desk staff was rude and gave us attitude when we complained. When my husband called at 1am in the morning to say the music is so loud that our floors are vibrating, all the receptionist offered was ear plugs... Seriously. The pictures online are really updated because the lobby and the pool area were really old and dirty. The roof deck was not even open, the only place to hangout was pretty much the restaurant which was super expensive. Definitely not staying here EVER AGAIN.
Location was great! Breakfast was okay. Ocean 10, great Resturant service, connected to hotel. We tried getting beach towels twice, they were out. Didn't have more than one bath towel in the room, needed more before shower. They never came. 2 different service fees $22/day which really is $44/day.
In the middle of south beach. Great service, front desk was very helpful. Clean comfortable rooms. Not for older couples or families, this does not include me but it is a forewarning. I didn't know gratuity would be added automatically until I arrived at my first day. But I was advised on the first day. The cleaning ladies were on time and did a great job, so gratuity was worth it.
Location and staff. Place is dirty. Stayed there in the past around 2 years ago and had a great experience. Place Has not been kept up. Rugs dirty, bathroom wall stained with something I would rather not mention. When checked in was told we got upgraded to Penthouse at no charge. Penthouse was old, dirty, filthy rugs with hot tub that did not work. Really??? Not an upgrade but a way to get someone in that room no one else would take. Declined upgrade and demanded the room we booked. Great location and staff but dirty. Also toiletries not replaced daily. Bring your own supplies
The only thing I liked about this hotel was the location. It's across the street from the beach. On Kayak this looks like a beautiful luxury hotel, but quickly upon arriving you realize it only looks like that from a distance and they have an amazing photographer for their site photos. Kayak was great but Breakwater is a sleezy lemon. Upon our arrival at 1 am Saturday we were tired and eager to get to our room. The receptionist strongly persuaded us to upgrade to a much more expensive room for $180 + tax so it would be quiet. He then proceeded to charge my card but forgot the tax so asked me to give him my credit card again so he could charge the sales tax. He also informed us upon arrival there is a $22/day resort fee but this was not stated anywhere on Kayak. Also as we were dealing with check in another guest came up to the desk and asked for ear plugs because the club music outside the hotel was too loud. And YES it was VERY LOUD. We were in a room that was pretty quiet for what it was but on Sunday night, by boyfriend WHO IS A DJ wasn't even able to fall asleep until 4 am because it was so loud! The room itself had a nice view but it had a lot of issues from lazy upkeep. The bed sheets had stains on them, the bench at the foot of the bed had weird sticky dirt marks from removed tape stains, the bathroom tub was worn down cracked and stained (didn't use it unfortunately because it looked so gross), and the shower floor was cracked. Using the TV was also a mess. The remote didn't work and no channel guide. We tried multiple times to dial the front desk from the hotel phone to have these addressed but the line would disconnect every time we hit the front desk or 0 button. Not sure if they don't want to hear from you, the line is inundated with calls, or something was wrong with the phone. The staff has not been trained to be friendly and welcoming to their guests. They view us as a bother and just want a fast interaction so they can quickly move on to the next opportunity to make money. The waiters/waitresses at the front of the hotel in the morning were more concerned with snagging passersby (as every other restaurant on that street) for business than greeting their current guests eating breakfast. I said good morning to a few of them and received very cold and snobby responses. They didn't make eye contact with me and didn't offer any interaction. So rude! One day I was using a computer in the lobby and a manager was severely scolding a server right there in the lobby for doing something that wasn't appropriate. She was very nasty and mean to him, and the one way scolding went on for literally 10 minutes. It was so unpleasant and uncomfortable to witness that as a guest. The employees should have a private area they use for this kind of thing, not out in the public lobby! This hotel is appropriate for frat boys/college aged kids that want to party hard, trash rooms, and recover on the beach afterwards without making much effort in getting there. We were paying over $300/night for this room and it's evident the Breakwater heavily relies on their location to make visitors happy and turn over business quickly, but does not put in any other effort. Definitely won't be staying here again. :(
i loved the location it was in the heart of south beach, also loved the pool area and how lively the hotel was. i didnt care for how pricey everything was
Location was great and I was impressed with the renovations. Very nicely done. I could hear people walking above me. Their footsteps caused light fixture on my ceiling to rattle and both sounds were a bit annoying late at night. Breakfast was pretty bad. Everything was cold, in using the eggs, sausage and French toast. Also the total bill is a little more than what I thought I paid. The resort fee is included in the initial bill, without tax. The resort fee, with taxes, is actually charged at check out, which made my total about $8 more than expected.
For a hotel right on Miami Beach, the Riu was surprisingly quiet. The bathroom didn't really have a door, just a frosted glass window that didn't totally close. Even though it was just me and my wife, the lack of privacy was weird. The room was definitely a little grungy, and smelled musty.
Beautiful place Expensive parking, if you staying in the hotel the parking shouldn't be so expensive
The room was a lot larger than I thought it would be I did not like the incompetence of the hotel staff. Billing before I got to the hotel was a nightmare(I was overcharged by $600 which took over a week to be resolved), checking into the hotel was a nightmare(the individual overseeing check-in overcharged my friends and I), there were dead roaches in the hallway..etc. etc.
Service To noisy
Nice small hotel in the South Beach, just 2 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. Room was clean, with LCD TV and minibar.. Furniture in rooms was old and the room and bathroom looked tired. The hotel had its own smell, but it got better once I opened the window. Simple breakfast.
I stayed with 4 kids, very friendly staff, simple but very good value for money, very good in-house restaurant (European standard), public parking next door very convienent but prices 1 $/hour, very close to beaches and other facilities Rooms might need some refreshment, cleanliness of bathroom just ok
Good location, pleasant room, not too busy Breakfast
Only the location Rooms and Bathrooms needs to remould.. Old painting, Poor breakfast, oxidated shower and tap.
great location, free business centre (desktops with internet, gym etc.) in a nearby partner hotel, poor but free breakfast, cheap and secure car park (we paid $16 which for south beach is fairly cheap) staff could be nicer to the customers
Proximity to the beach Rooms very jaded, quilt cover damage, looked very tired
When we came to the hotel our room was disgusting so we asked if we could switch rooms. We both looked at a suite and one other room and they were just as dirty, even the suite was very dirty and had a huge stain on the sofa. The hallways were full of dust and dirt. When we asked to cancel based on that the photos online did not give the right look of the room we had to pay for one night (and they never fully refunded the rest of the payment that they had taken of our credit card). The hotel staff was rude and did not even try to help us to make our stay in Miami a pleasent stay after having this disgusting experiance. I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.
Great place and location for the money. Nothing luxurious but staff are all nice and its clean.
the design of the place and cool aesthetic thin walls, loud doors that slam shut
Miami beach has A LOT of hotels most of which are on the beach. The Standard isn't on the beach, it's on the bay and it's located off the main strip of tourist filled spring breakers. It's quiet serene and all around well worth every penny. It didn't matter we had to walk a little bit to get to the beach and everything else south beach has to offer. I won't stay anywhere else in Miami beach. The staff is unlike any place I've ever been to in Miami or anywhere else for that matter. The moment you get there you feel relaxed and when you go up to the spa...forget about it. Life will never be better. The only thing I didn't like was leaving. Also the restaurant lacks desserts.
It's a nice Hotel with young staff and were you feel good. Modern lounge but not too modern. An Hotel to go back
We enjoyed our time by the pool and the Spa facilities were nice. We enjoyed our yoga class as well. The staff was slow and not friendly. The pictures of the hotel accommodations are quite deceiving. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures. A private terrace is not at all private. This is nothing more than a glorified motel.
the spa and pool were great the rooms are way too small! much smaller that they make them out to be. it didn't feel like a luxury hotel. I would recommend getting a day pass and staying somewhere else if possible.
Very relaxing. Very, very, very disappointed that my car was filthy dirty when I used the valet parking. I was charged $37..00 per night and my car was disgusting. I paid $111.00 in parking and both cars I parked were disgusting. I will probably not choose to stay at your hotel because of this. I stay about 15 nights a year on the beach.
For a quick recharge, nothing is better. Hamam, pool, juice, perfect. The rooms are no frills. Still nice though.
The upgrade for the 2nd night. When we arrived to check in, the hotel informed us they had deleted our booking and therefore we had to spend the first night elsewhere. This was obviously a major inconvenience.
Nice trendy hotel. Well located. Extraordinary pool. No breakfast buffet anymore! I liked it!
Excellent surprise! Beautiful and extremely relaxing hotel. 5 minutes away from the chaos of Miami beach but an oasis of peace. Very little space for clothings (no closet)
Nice location to Miami beach, awesome roof top infinity pool but apparently anyone off the street can use it. Room floor was filthy, lots of dust balls around the edges and corners in the bathroom. Walk in Shower with no door has barely enough glass to keep water from splashing out to the rest of the bathroom floor. You get 2 complimentary bottles of water in the mini fridge, however the bottle cap seals were already broken, leading me to believe that they were refilled used bottles!
Loved the shower I would of liked to have drawers in the room.
Euro style, pleasing to the eye. Room was comfortable and we had everything we needed (except for one day when they failed to leave us bath towels). Food availability is a little lacking. We went up to the pool on the top level where we heard we might get lunch. Person shows up once in a while to take your order. Salads and sandwiches. Took a while for it to arrive. Breakfast buffet for $19 was fine. No restaurant in this hotel so you have to cast about the neighborhood for dinner. The bartender at the AC recommended an Italian place a block away that was very good: Cantina 27. And there are restaurants in the Miami Beach Edition hotel across the street. Can't speak to their quality/value. We did not use the TV so can't say anything about that.
