Oakland Airport Pick Up Is a Nightmare!
Pros: Great car! Great drop-off!
Cons: Waited over 15 minutes in line. Only 1 person working. Hard sell on liability insurance and coverage!

Cons: Customer service in Oakland was awful. Not only did we have to wait for a car after our reserved pick up time, the representative did not process our paperwork and then overcharged us. Terrible experience.

Choosing the car
Pros: I like the way you can walk into the parking lot and pick your own car
Cons: When I walked into the parking lot there were not enough American cars there is always a shortage of American cars this is an American company should have more American cars then crappy Asian cars

Hidden Fees and Conditions
Pros: The customer service representative. Very kind and helped me explore others means to get home.
Cons: The require $300 they needed to have me put down to get the car. Struggling student salary....

Impressed by the service level at Dollar!
Pros: The woman assisting me at check in was efficient, friendly and helpful. I've never tried Dollar before but I would definitely recommend them.

Pros: Very easy to make my reservation online (and cheaper this way), easy check in, no hidden "fine print," easy and convenient dropoff.
Cons: I tried calling to get more information before I made my online reservation, and they did not answer the phone. I was on hold for over 10 minutes and had to call back several times before I spoke with a representative.

Beware of surcharges
Cons: I was OVERCHARGED $467.39 instead of the $202.71 in my contract RR657234454 because I returned the car at SFO instead of OAK airports. THESE IS PREDATORY CHARGES. I would accept a $25 to $50 surcharge for the burden of driving the car 30 mins north, but this is abusive. I would not recommend any of my friends go through this painful service.

My reservation wasn't accepted, and I was charged
Cons: didn't uphold reservation; charged extra $40

Pros: Good sized vehicle and trunk. Perfect power for our freeway driving over the weekend.
Cons: It didn't appear as if the inside was wiped down before we picked it up. No trash but there was sticky stuff on the steering wheel and around and in the cup holder.

Finally drove a Bug
Pros: The car was clean and performed well. I would rent from dollar again.

Affordable, quality service
Pros: Okay customer service -- there was an issue at first in which we had the press the customer service rep to assist us further as she tried to deny our rental at first, but everything worked out. Affordable, good quality vehicles, and timely service.

Easy Pick-up, 1 maintenance Issue
Pros: Comfortable, easy pick-up and check out.
Cons: Multiple scratches and one driving light was out.

Car was not the standard I reserved
Pros: Car was not the standard size I reserved and I would have had to pay significantly more despite the clarity of my email confirmation. Then I had to pay an extremely expensive fee just to use the easy pass (not talking about toll) which is bullshit. Horrible customer service and pickup.

Got ripped off for not having a credit card
Cons: The desk attendant would not rent to me because I didn't have a credit card. I was never told that using a debit card would be an issue. They then called in a very suspicious retail car company that charged me triple what I expected to pay and gave me a milage limit on my car. I will never use Dollar again and hope nobody else does I was blatantly taken advantage of. This was my first time booking through kayak and will never use this service again either. I knew my deal was to good to be true and payed in the end.

Tried to Raise Rate Twice
Pros: Both during check-in an check-out, Dollar tried to double the rental rate. Each time, I had to speak with a supervisor. I don't believe that this was an innocent mistake. BEWARE. Bait-and-Switch.
Cons: Nothing. It was a very negative experience.

Poor customer service
Pros: Once I got the car, the car was fine and drop off was easy.
Cons: The woman at the front desk tried to sell us upgrades, gas and insurance very insistently, then sent us up to the counter.After a 10 minute wait, we were directed to a group of cars to choose from. Other customers were looking at all but one of the cars, so we took that car, and drove it to the exit. The woman at the exit indicated that we could not take that car; that it was not available. We had to go back and then find another car.

Right on Time!!!
Pros: I was impress that the service was prompt for myself... The agent was very knowledgable and helpful for I did book a day later and was able to obtain the same rate... Excellent job!!!

Poor service and product. Never again
Cons: One clerk, do 30 min pick up. Cars not ready. Reserved mid size. Given compact for same price.

Cons: There was alot of aggressive up selling. The car class i was told I was getting was inaccurate.

Pros: Fairly easy pickup and drop off. Car was clean inside but not in the best shape on the outside.
Cons: I feel a bit cheated, I made a reservation for a compact car but I got a Toyota Yaris, which I'm pretty sure belongs in the economy category, which is below compact. There was not a good selection of cars to choose from.
