Air Canada provides direct flights to 60 destinations in the U.S., servicing, among others, LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark (EWR) in the New York area, as well as 5 destinations in both California and Florida. Many low-cost carriers such as Porter Airlines and WestJet also offer direct flights between the two countries.
Canadian citizens do not require a visa to enter the United States and are generally granted a stay of up to 6 months upon arrival. However, you need to provide a valid passport when entering the U.S. by air, which has to be valid until your intended departure date.
The most convenient airport to fly into if touring the Rocky Mountains is Denver International Airport (DEN). It is located about 145 km southeast of the east entrance of the park, and is serviced by many national carriers and low-cost airlines. You can either rent a car at the airport or take the Estes Park Shuttle which takes you to the park's entrance in about 2h and costs $45 (approximately C$ 60).

They could either have us get a later flight (not to arrive on the same day) or refund us and have us find another airline. We asked that they take care of our flights themselves - even with other airlines. They politely but categorically refused. We got our money back and flew with Westjet, and will likely never fly with or recommend Porter again."

One on leg I made the connection, the gate was still open, the screen said "final boarding call" and at the gate the lady said "sorry we gave away your seats". The lady handling all of the Porter affairs did not have a reasonable response for giving away our seats she just said "we didn't think you would make the flight", but apparently we did make the flight. Horribly unprofessional in every way. She did compensate us with a 15.00 dollar food voucher, but I would much rather have been on the flight I actually made, instead of having my seat given away."

Finding power plug outlets for laptops in your Toronto lounge is a challenge. Elderly people have to bend down, peer under chairs, if they're lucky to see an outlet. I was escorted to their waiting zone, where I spent 1.5 hours waiting in limbo trying to figure out what I could do. Thank goodness the flight was delayed 80 minutes, because I was finally able to make the flight with 2 minutes to spare after running to the gates. The flight time, 65 minutes. I find it hard to believe the flight got delayed an entire flight. To couple that, when the plane landed in LGA (where I am as I write this), we're stranded on the runway because we don't have clearance to pull into our taxi area."

My original flight to Miami was non-stop, instead I had to take a flight that connected in Miami. That flight was two hours late! This was the worst experience I ever had!"

The staff at Atlanta's airport were great from the curbside checkin agents to the wheelchair attendant and gate agents so that they 45 minute delay due to air traffic in New York was hardly noticeable. The flight attendants were pleasant and friendly and the food was delicious. We actually arrived ahead of our adjusted ETA, after a very smooth flight."
Cons: "Upon arrival in New York, the 3 of us who needed wheelchair assistance waited and waited for them to come. Finally, the gate agents rounded up some wheelchairs that were sitting around nearby just to get us off the plane and to the gate area. After waiting about 15 minutes, while hearing the gate agents being told repeatedly by the wheelchair dispatcher on the radios that they were coming and were passing through security, 2 female attendants finally arrived and they took the two elderly ladies and off they went, leaving me there waiting. I continued to wait, and wait, and wait for ANOTHER 25 MINUTES, total of 40 minutes after arrival at the gate. The same dispatcher lady continued to say that my attendant was on the way, passing through security for the entire 25 minutes. He asked me to change wheelchairs because he liked his better. He didn't offer to take my laptop bag and put it behind. He took off down the concourse before my feet were even on the footrests, with me holding my legs out in front of me because the footrests were up. After 20 or 30 feet, I got him to stop and let me get my feet down. I told him our luggage was supposed to be at carousel E, so he took me to "A". He asked me if any of the bags there were mine, and I said, "Why would they be here? I told you we were on Carousel E!" So then he wheeled me to Carousel E, and since it had now been almost an hour, it was empty. He asked an attendant where my bag would be, and was told to check at the office, which was back over by Carousel A. Upon finally checking with the personnel in the office, he came out rolling my bags and stood them by me for me to deal with while he just pushed the wheelchair. I had told him I was taking Uber, so he deposited me curbside near the taxi stand, which was not anywhere near where Uber could pick me up and was gone. FINALLY, after arriving earlier than expected at 3:25, at 4:43 I was finally picked up by Uber to go on home. What a nightmare! I thought the wheelchairs were supposed to be waiting upon arrival????"
