No Comment Not my Kind of Hotel and false advertising on the internet/
Stuff was ok, bed was comfortable, shower was working properly, hot water all the time, well positioned very near gare du nord and that made easy coming from charles de gaulle airport because i did not need to go into metro with suitcasses. poissoniere metro station a few steps away will take you diretctly to louvre and centre. room in the basement with no daylight at all, so next time i will ask for the room in the floor. recommend for budget travelers with no luxury needs.
Very conveniently located near to Gare du Nord, and the Metro system. The reception staff (especially the female) were extremely pleasant and helpful. Very small TV in bedroom, and we would have liked to have at least one TV chanel in English. There was no shower curtain. There was a tremendous amount of traffic noise - Air conditioning would have been much appreciated, so we could then have kept the windows shut.
A bit dark inside of the room, and the bathroom's airconditioner didn't properly work
really friendly staff, good location
Cleaniness of the room, nice staff. Good location. no cold water in washer in suit, not repaired during out stay ( 4 nights).
The location was great, there was a lot of restaurants around. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. They even have a lift.
Friendly, helpful staff. Very good breakfast (for Parisian standards). The room was very clean. Nice neighborhood, lot's of restaurants nearby. Good value for your money. The room was a bit small. The bathroom was small, and not practical (loose shower head and wobbly shower screen).
Nice staff. They did not hesitate to give me a double room the first night because there was something wrong in mine. Helpful, understanding and nice staff. Clean and comfortable room. Non.
The staff is friendly. The cleanliness is not good in the bathroom. There are hair in the walls (not mine) and the sit cover of sanitary vase was dirty.
The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. I arrived early in the morning from an overnight flight from Africa and was very tired. The receptionist allowed me to check in early so I could rest. This made all the difference in my weekend in Paris. Very nice!
The staff at the Reception were extremly helpfull. The shower is too small, an average or petite person can hardly manage getting in and out of the shower.
Location, very close to railway and subway stations. Free internet access. Good breakfest.
the hotel was fine, but once again I was disappointed with booking.com, which failed to pass on my special request to the hotel.
Location directly by the train station we were using Missing bathtub
The location. We booked this hotel because we were flying out the next day and could walk to Gare Nord where we caught the rer to the airport. The reception staff were quite efficient, and offered to store our luggage when our rooms were not ready. The staff also were very gracious when I complained about our very noisy neighbours in the next room. I believe that they phoned our neighbours because the noise did diminish at 11 pm. Rather than cotton sheets, they were rubber lined synthetic sheets. This made for a warm, uncomfortable sleep. The walls were thin and we could hear our very talkative neighbours. Selection at breakfast was great, but the croissants were not up to par as they were not really crispy. We did not really like the location of the hotel in terms of restaurants and walking around in the evening and at night.
N/A Nothing it was a very loud hotel not relaxing at all and I did not feel safe there. I also did not like the fact that the lights in the hall ways were not on all the time. I was traveling alone and it made it hard to see when it was dark. Room was very very small from what was described on your website, not at all worth 129E
Near railway stations
Closeness to facilities both restrauants & subway / trains
The staff were very friendly
the cleanliness of the room the bed was small
location very small rooms, very old hotel, hardly two star, it took 4 hours to fix the heating system in the room, shower was broken, noise from workers around the hotel. very tiny elevator. the hotel could not book a taxi for us even though we asked one hour in advance !!
The location. The breakfast wasn't as I expected, and also the lavatory pan had dicky-diddle.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful considering we spoke hardly any French. Also we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the bathroom
I first stayed in this hotel in December 2007 and choose it again for my stay in Paris now in November. All good, no complains. Fair hotel for a fair price considering that it is Paris. Staff very helpful and good breakfast. Room is very small but this is usual in Europe. So the hotel is all good and I do recommend.
Good location I got bitten several times whilst in bed. This was during November, so I have to question the cleanlyness of the hotel.
Location Breakfast was till 9:30 only
It was handy to Gare du Nord and a Metro Station to link to the rest of the city. Reecption personnel were obliging. during a poorly organised window renovation programme which meant 3 room changes. The rooms were very small. Breakfast, presided over by customer unfriendly staff, was poor, with bad coffee and without museli (a European standard .. even in Poland, the Ukraine and England) on offer. Lift is totally inadequate for 2 people and large bags, especially when cleaning staff have left their equipment in it. Decore is jaded .. worn carpets and wall coverings, bathroom tiles missing. A badly co-ordinated window renovation programme was in progress making our initial room offering unavailable until after 5pm. We should have read the previous guests comments in full before booking.
Staff very helpful and situated near Gar de Nord.
The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was, perhaps, a bit small for two people but was adequate for a two-night stay
The hotel is located right next to a metro station, which is a plus. The room was small but clean. Sheets were changed daily. We stayed on the 4th floor and it was very quiet. There was no elevator. The staff was not really friendly.
It is close to the metro station. No place in the bathroom to put the things on. They didn't aspirate
One minute walk from metro No lift but that did not bother me.Not a place I would take my girlfriend because of the area, but as i was alone and booking.com had a good rate I was satisfied, It is only good value with the price booking.com had for a single person..49 euros
Cleanliness of room and friendliness of staff. The entrance, the noise of building work in an adjacent building and noisy corridors and stairs due to being uncarpeted. You would have to be fit as there is no elevator and the stairs are steep and narrow. We were on the 5th floor and it was an effort. It would be a shame not to recommend it but there are the previously noted disadvantages to consider.
Despite the off-putting exterior, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is three blocks from Gare du Nord, an area not pleasing to the eye but very convenient for a Eurostar user. The exterior, lobby and dining room are ugly. The hotel has six floors but no lift.
Closeness to Gare du Nord. There is no elevator. The quality of the rooms is poor. You need state clearly that there are 6 floors with no elevator. The prices should be cheaper for the quality you receive. This is a step above a hostel.
No lift, no air con or fans, noisy
the location was good and the staff were polite I was disgusted by the dirty towels which I could not bring myself to use.
As we were 4 days in Paris and spent a lot of time in the city, the hotel was in perfect position to metro and comfortable enough to have a rest after whole day walking. Clean-up services
The basket of fruit was a very pleasant surprise, as were the friendly staff. The location is very good, in the heart of the liveliest part of Paris. I was disappointed that there was no facility for making hot drinks in the room.
The customer services was good, breakfast and room service were good but the rooms were a bit small, staff were very helpful with the travelling information. l would go back again or recommend it to my family and friends. the rooms and elevator are small
The location. metro stations are close to the hotel and the neighbourhood seemed quiet enough. Having booked a triple room over a month earlier we were surprised to know, by the time we got there, that there wasn’t any available and that we had to stay in separated rooms. as a result, and because of the fact that we carried only one suitcase for the three of us, we had to come and go from one room to the other to get our stuff. both the rooms were tiny, had no refridgerator and the heating was so unbearable that we had to sleep leaving the balcony door opened during the night. one of the beds was so squeaky that we were awaken each time we turned around and the worst was that hair was found on the bed linen. the flush of one of the bathrooms was broken and so was the shower rail of the other bathroom. the breakfast was poor, cheap and of low quality. in fact, in the second morning it consisted of what was left from the previews morning. bad value for money. note that we were asked to pay just when we arrived! Not recommended it at all.
the bed the shower was broken
Good location, close to Montmartre (especially the Sacre Coeur). It is a very basic hotel but good value for the money.
Free wifi. Location is ok, only 1 station away from Gard du Nord. 2 supermarkets around open till late at night. Mcdonalds' just 30 sec walk. The bathroom floor was full of water all the time in my room. The bath probably leaks and after shower it is like flooding in the bathroom. I picked the 3 beds room. It is probably a normal 2 beds room with one extra bed squeezed in. Very difficult to walk freely in the room because there is no space.
Reasonable value in a convenient location. Breakfast staff were off-hand.
Very cheap, good location near metro station + Sacre Coeur. Bathroom smelled bad when I arrived and not cleaned to very high standards.
Promised me for early check-in but finally cannot. And needs to pay 5euro for luggage keeping...
nothing much good location, close to sacre c, tube ,shops etc, room very small...staff friendly, but hotel not great value for money, could not believe another 8euros for a small breakfast...after a few days moved out to another hotel which was in same location and nearly half the price...with a larger room....all in all this comfort inn too expensive for what you get.
It was pleasant stay, excellent location for short stay, close to Montmartre attractions and metro station to explore Paris. Hotel located walking distance to Gare du Nord railway station, easy to find.
The only redeeming quality of this hotel is it's location in proximity to Gare du Nord. Other than that, it should be torn down! Do not stay here!!! Unless you like rooms that smell of sewerage (a problem we got told was absolutely nothing to do with them even though it quite clearly imminated from the drains in the bathroom), rude unhelpful staff, small cramped rooms right on the street filled with drunken revellers all hours of the morning and a breakfast that consists of bread, bread and more bread. I'm used to rubbish Paris accomodation but not on this level and at this price. Stay away!!!
well it was not far from the metro station and quite neat to montmartre it was cold, the heating didn't work at all, the curtain wouldn/t close, the bathroom was uncomfortable
Staff was great and helpfull, very good location
Receptionist is very kind and helpful, it was a pleasure to arrive to this hotel. Room just renovated and with a good taste, lovely room. The area where the hotel is located is not that nice, but felt safe. It is not close to centre, but Metro station is near.
Clean, stylish, efficient hotel in a central location. Minimalist and without frills but everything you need. Slightly intimidating location for a stranger to walk through late at night. Breakfast stopped at 9 - too early for me.
Staff is polite and friendly. A room is clean, with Wi-Fi, not too small but enough space for a single traveller. Neighborhood area at night made me feel insecure, for single woman traveller. But there was no problem in the morning.
very nice staff, very comfortable for the price i paid, i would defenetely go back there. the noise from the street
The staff is very friendly The street where the hotel is located
Good location. Wifi, clean Poor lighting in the room, breakfast with no value for money, no charme at all
close proximity to metro quite scruffy
the room clean and comfort for me to take a rest too far from the centre of paris and the location not save , no place for parking car around there..
Daily room service. Shower pressure. Location very downmarket.
The warm room and the cellar where breakfast was served The area
The location was excellent - just one minute walk from the metro station. Breakfast was very good for the price of 8 euro. Staff was very nice. The rooms need to be renovated and the floor has to be fixed urgently!
Good, clean room. Just in front of Gare de Elst. Balcony in the room. Very small lift, only one person can fit.
The location of the hotel is very good. One minute walk to Metro. Rooms are clean. Breakfust is fair for the price. The floor is not flat. The rooms need serious renovation. The elevator is really small. Prepare to go by stairs.
Location, friendly staff, good value for money
Location Unpolite staff !!!! Everytime when my friend came to visit me in the Hotel (She was leaving nearby) hotelstaff was saying that there is nobody in the room (imitating telephone call to the room, although telephone didn't work and was in the room as decoration), we did an attempt to resolve this problem and ask girl on the reception not to lie to the guests, but she said directly that she doesnt understand english, although she spoke perfectly one day ago! She spoke unpolitely and said that its not her problems!
Very convenient for the Gare de l'Est Past its best - needs a good makeover - bit grubby - but that's Paris!
Room and bathroom shabby - shower fitting broken so had to hold to shower. Heating did not have individual control - very hot. Do not like to complain.
near the 2 train stations we opted for the breakfast and it was not worth it
Nice warm friendly clean hotel great location value for money
The Hotel is newly build and has a stylish design. It lays quietly and at the same time close to the Gare de Nord Station. The Rooms are extremely tight. The door to the Bathroom has less than 55 cm - quite difficult just to get in and out. The WLAN did not work in the rooms, a solutions was found only a day later in the reception. Prices for the breakfast are outrageous, but there are many little bars around where you can get a nice coffee with a croissant.
The wifi did not work in the room as promised., it would only pick up the signal in the hall, and that was one of the main reasons l chose the hotel was for it's ammenities and location near the Gare du Nord, also the safe did not work in the room, and the staff would not transfer us to another room because we had "walked into the room"!
The rooms were excellent, very swish, very comfortable, and great location even though Gare du Nord isn't seen that way traditionally. Reception staff seemed to have been trained by Basil Fawlty. I left a letter with management lamenting rude and negative receptionists contrasted with great rooms and good overall managers. Had a stand up row with final check out receptionist who insisted my card didn't work. (Never had a prob with card elsewhere before or since.) Very very unpleasant experience. Shame for hotel trying so hard.
Great location, huge bed :-) Air con not very good, breakfast extremely expensive.
clean, good decor. window overlooked small courtyard and so was a bit airless and dark
This is a horrible hotel that is able to totally spoil your experience of the romantic city of Paris. everything is bed - rooms uncomfortable, really tiny, smelly and not soundproof. The personnel is unfriendly and rude, they may shout at you just because you took the hotel key with you and didnt leave it with them (stupid rule). They charge you upon check-in etc etc etc. The location is very poor too, don't be tempted by the small distance to Gare du Nord, - you will really be surrounded by homeless people, alchoholics and drug dealers at night. It makes mych more sense to take a taxi from the station for just 10 euro, - while for the price of the room you can find a decent hotel in the downtown.
Friendly staff and comfortable room. Our room was quiet and clean. We thought the breakfast was a bit too expensive at 13 euros each.
quick availability when booking, reasonable price, necessary facilities available, secure small rooms, small elevator, no kettle in the room
the room was very clean, soundproof and the bathrom was big and clean. The hotel seams to have been recently renovated. The staf was nice, they speak english.the acess to centre of paris and cdg airport is very convinient ( gare du nord is very close)..... there was a small bailler and ingridients to make cofe and tea in your room for free the rooms are small, but its like that in most hotels in paris. in the region gare du nord there are a lot of sex shops and many immigrands that drink in the streets.... it is not good for women and families.
location, tidy and clean our room size is very small
location very small room and the toilet
Convenient location between the two stations
Closeness to Gare du Nord, restaurants and local to an open top bus stop. Small rooms but adequate for our stay. There is nothing that we did not like.
good shower and bathroom facilities, rooms are small as expected, but comfortable nonetheless TV and channels are rubbish, not one in english! very cramped lift, and for some reason the lights in the hallways are always off and you have to switch them on everytime to see where you are walking as there are no windows in the hallway.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. A very nice room for an overnight stay. Location was excellent for metro.
ease of access from the Gare d'Est as mentioned the room was tiny and we should have been made aware of this. Also, the lift, which is right beside our bedrrom door, made noise
The friendly staff, clean sheets, double bed for a single. The nice weather and the U2-concert at Stade de France. Only one toilet for both men and women in the cellar.
The approach of the staff was not very professional, neither friendly; poor choice for breakfast, tiny rooms.
Location is perfect - close to north and east train stations Room was cold, heating started at 8pm and ended during night. They did not have a printer on reception - I needed it to print my boarding pass.
good position, near Metro and railway station
My room at the Alane was very clean and comfortable, and was a great value for a hotel so close to the station. The staff spoke many languages and were able to help me with everything I needed.
Perfect for short busienss travel Woudl like more TV Channels and stronger lighting in the room
Location to Eurostar
The staff, the size of the room and the cleanliness of the bathroom No air conditioning and the uncleanliness of the duvet.
Location, Calm Provided what can be expected for the price
good location, best breakfest
Location , all we needed was there , quiet hotel and street ( most of the time ) The breakfast was sufficient . The ensuite in our room was ready for a makeover , but clean ...the ensuite our friends had was much better.
The location was great, the room very clean and quiet. Some trouble with the whole checking in process that caused more stress than it was worth but eventually sorted itself out.
Convenient location near Gare Est and Nord train stations. Relatively quiet street location. Lots of nearby restaurants and store. Easy access to Metro. Hotel is under renovation, so new bathrooms. Beds are simple foam matresses, which are actually very comfortable and much better than sagging springs. This is a two star hotel, so set your expectations accordingly. When renovations are complete, it will be nicer, with new carpets etc. (still underway in mid Aug 2007). No AC so occassionally noisy with windows open in summer. No exhaust fans in bathroom. No wireless Internet, but some open networks nearby...
The Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Gard Du Nord Station and 15 minutes walk into the centre - perfect if you are coming to Paris on Eurostar. The room was a very good size and the buffet breakfast pretty good for a 2** Hotel. The staff were helpful and the free wi-fi in the lobby area was useful.
We stayed in rooms 211 and 212 Oct 2010 - both bedroom floors were filthy! and the rooms were generally tatty. While staying at the hotel we were biten by fleas and we've carried them home! Bathrooms were immaculate, shame about the bedroom floors. If you are allocated either of these rooms do not stay in them! I will not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend the hotel to anyone. I have complained to hotel but have not had a reply to date.
Hotel staff were friendly (the majority) and willing to assist with questions of left luggage until departing on the Eurostar. The rooms were basic but clean and the beds comfortable with soap and toilet paper, clean towels in the bathroom. I have recommended this hotel to several people. The only drawback is the safety of the area at nights if alone. It is advisable to use a taxi at nights if alone. If you have to have the window open over the street, it is very noisy as there is an all-night restaurant directly opposite and the voices/traffic from the street is loud.
