I liked the size of the rooms. The elevators fit maybe 4 people. One of the two broke and we waiting for about 15 before we took the stairs from the 8th floor. We had a group of friends staying on the east end. Someone was throwing and party and you could hear them when we got off the elevatorl. It was unacceptable how loud there were. An hour later security came and did nothing. I was glad my room was on the other side of the hotel.
The gym was exceptional and housekeeping was nice for cleaning my two tee shirts for me the night before I had to leave free of charge. Everyone else that wasn't at the gym or cleaned my t for free wasn't very nice. I always smile and say thank you and please it isn't even hard to be nice to me. Just polite would be enough but most the staff was pretty confrontational for no reason it was a torture b/c i don't like confrontation at all. It's doesn't seem that hard to me to simply answer to a question without a frown. Makes me feel very bad. Hated that really. And they made me wait like 20 mins at the restaurant and didn't take my order. All I did was ask to sit next to the garden (smiled said please and even thank you).
I had to cancel my reservation due to an emergency, and was charged a full day at the hotel. I never stayed there. Very unfair.
Have stayed many times - the experience is always great
This is a gorgeous hotel. The entrance is very grand with beautiful chandeliers. The staff was attentive and polite. We checked in quickly and were given a large room with a balcony - even a spacious bathroom. The metro is very close if you're heading to the monuments or museums. Also the zoo is about a half mile up Conn. Ave. which was convenient. Adams Morgan is nearby and there are lots of great restaurants in between. You can't beat this location anywhere in D.C. I've stayed at the Omni in New Orleans, New York, and Richmond over the years. They are all an excellent choice. Nothing.
Close to transportation and restaurants.
The large bathtub--one of the great things about older hotels Location close to the metro Friendly staff
Hotel is nice enough, clean and comfortable, polite staff, the normal positives from a hotel. Besides parking it was a very good experience. The only thing I would complain about is that parking in the area is incredibly difficult at best. The hotel has plenty of parking but it costs 50$ for overnight and there wasn't really any warning for this fact, if there was it would have been much less annoying.
Walls are somewhat thin. Could hear hallway noise and room next door.
The hotel is dated. The window air conditioner kept the room too cold and woke me up often
The OMNI is a beautiful hotel with a lovely garden and nice pool and gym. Excellent location for conferences in the Wardman Center just across. Good connection to metro. I had booked a room 3 months in advance including 4 days on a conference rate. 5 days before the main meeting I received an email telling me I had to move to an airport hotel, 30 minutes drive away from the hotel and the conference I was going to attend for the Tuesday and Wednesday night of my Sunday to Saturday stay because of a 'technical error' in booking. I had a meeting at the OMNI the very Tuesday. When calling them management (Chris) was non-accommodating and impolite and the offer of a refund to find another accommodation is little help 4 days before a conference with 4000 attendants. They offered to cover one of the nights in the airport hotel. Overall friendliness in the hotel was not at the level usually encountered in places of this level and I had to call at 14:00 one day to get the room serviced.
A party on our floor was raging til 4am when it was finally ended due to police intervention despite many phone call to front desk beginning at 10pm. Got $50 off stay but should have been completely comped.
It's a great location. Near metro and plenty of great places to eat. Walls are paper thin. Had very noisy neighbors. Called staff but did not help.
Very little Terrible customer service
Close to where I needed to be. Good amenities on site. Bed was comfortable, not luxurious, but fine for a night or two. Price was great, I assume marked down for slower holiday time while there was no business travel.
The security of the facility, the price for a room that turned out to be a suite, the convenient location - near the metro and in a neighborhood with a choice of restaurants The hotel needs soundproofing or guests who can speak quietly in the hallways and better coffee and tea in the room
Convenient Friendly staff Paid for room and had to pay for vehicle parking too, should be included with the room.
Clean room with very good facility Nothing
Close to Metro station and in quiet neighborhood with housekeeping daily and parking for a fee. Absolutely no amenities are available, except parking for a fee. There is no restaurant, no food and no water available for sale. Parking area is shared with a rental company.
Close to subway station. Shower wasn't working properly. The other guest in room next door was listening to music almost whole night so we could not sleep. I wanted to switch the room but it was not possible.
Convient location for my business. Friendly staff. Attentive. Should have had a chair in the room besides the swivel desk chair. Wireless connection was usable but bad.
The free internet access Yes, the front desk staff was rude.
Comfortable bed, good wireless connection, closeness to Metro. No stoppers in lavatory or bathtub and no help from staff about obtaining one. Price was higher than I anticipated:I did not get rate my friends did.
Wi-fi access in the hotel room
Good room, near a metro station stop.
Only 1/2 mile from Metro station, which made it very convenient to get to everything we wanted to see. Housekeeping was inadequate - ice bucket and coffee maker not emptied and cleaned daily; iron and ironing board did not work well.
Location for touring Room was small with NO easy chair for relaxing watching TV
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was kept very clean and the facility is in a mall with restaurants, drug stores and specialty shops. There is a Metro Station (subway) in the basement of the mall, making it convenient to downtown and the historical district. Parking is well organized and convenient. The business center allowed us to easily check our e-mails. They had received damage from a storm a few weeks back, and no one told us this when we made our reservation. There was no change in the rate for the inconvenience.
Everything Too many different elevators (transfers) to get to parking lot.
Great room, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts were excellent. Location of the hotel was perfect.
The staff was so helpful and friendly. Our server for the breakfast buffet, Riehard was wonderful. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy. the front desk staff was great as well.
Staff were wonderful everywhere, front desk, cleaning and in the restaurant....the breakfast crew were fantistac. The ventilation system. We stayed in suite 600 and it was so noisy and ancient we had to shut it off completely at night so we could sleep. The room had been remodelled and was lovely, but this was horrible.
Metro station at the hotel, good safety feature. Easy access to DC. Carpets a little shabby.
I went there really stressed and left totally relaxed. And great breakfast bar! The parking is a little bit pricey.
Nice hotel. Very convenient for sight-seeing in D.C. due to the Metro stop. Also convienient was the pharmacy and Starbucks in the mall and the nearby restaurants. Biggest complaint is that the website says "on-site laundry facilities" - one washer and one dryer was not what we expected and was very inconvenient. People had to wait in line. Also, more variety at breakfast would be great. The same thing everyday got boring.
Nice clean hotel in a nice location with great views Nothing
Our family really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We took the metro to get around the area. It is conveniently located below the hotel and is only 20 minutes to D.C. The location of the hotel is within walking distance to nice restaurants and upscale stores. We felt very safe walking around the area both day and night. The breakfast offered a variety of choices. Our favorite was the omelet made-to-order. The manager's reception every evening was a great way to wind down the day before going out for dinner. Room was lovely and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We will definately stay at this hotel again when we come back to D.C.
The comfort, convenience and ambiance. Nice breakfast and cocktail service. Excellent location. There was nothing not to like about the hotel
Location, friendly staff, great room Elevator broken so needed to take stairs or wait 15 minutes for an elevator. Room service slow. Food not bad/not great. NOt sure what service tax of 22% on room service was. Unsure whether to tip another 20%. We Did!
The breakfast at Savoy Suites was wholesome and delicious. The rooms were spacious and the in room facilities were excellent.
Most of all I have to say that one of the employees at the reception , anonieta la saviero, I guess, was one the best person that I found in a hotel!! She went out of her way to help and she was formidable in dealing with one problem that I encountered with a ticket reservation!! Firm , yet polite, and never letting go, without proper answer! Sort of person that you would love to work for you ! The boys were not so helpful!!! Left a message for one of my friends arriving , and they only gave much later on, after telling me that she was not there. Even though she was in near by place!
onsite restaurant, hotel staff booked a suite but room was just a regular traditional room with 2 beds and an armchair. Expected a separate kitchen and living room sitting area
The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and spacious, and we had everything we needed. They charged us for breakfast that was supposed to be included.
The rooms were in need of redecorating, and curtains, bed throws Etc. were dirty. Several items did not work properly until we requested repairs.
The rooms were very spacious and it was a nice surprise to have breakfast included. None.
The location, we were on a business trip and getting to the office was easy.
Tempu pedic mattress was great
Quiet, clean, nicely appointed, comfortable. Breakfast not included.
no place in close proximity, read walking distance,to eat.many in a short drive
I frequently travel to Washington on business and tried this guest house. It is literally across the street from the Metro. It is very clean, very dignified, very quiet, very welcoming, and very relaxing. I will return. I liked everything. Two things that I liked, but others may not like:1) There are no TVs in the rooms or on the premises. There is wi-fi. 2) Room 114 is next to the kitchen. You smell coffee at 6:30, so if you are not a morning person take note.
comfort of bed, quality of bathroom, outstanding free breakfast, afternoon cookies and wine. Attitude of ALL staff. Quick, flexibility of owners. Opportunity to meet owners. Conversation in the morning and evening at the dining room table. Location
The staff was lovely and incredibly helpful. The room was clean and homey. The location was great right next to the zoo and the metro.
A/C, breakfast, very convenient location - near our daughter's apartment, National Zoo, busses and Metro, Starbucks; good restaurants within walking distance; nice patio to relax on Weird mattress - too bouncy/soft, towels too thin, carrying suitcases up to third floor, lack of electrical outlets
