Location, facilities, foods Staff ignored basic requests, reserved a king room but instead ended up with a double queen and a half apology along with how can we make up for it... my response was please provide me with a room on a high floor; 3rd floor!
The location is great and it is a beautiful historical hotel. We were in the newer section this time that we did not like as well. We reserved a room with a king-size bed and but got a room with 2 double beds. They had several big events so I suspect that is why we got put in a smaller room with less amenities. The only lighting in the bathroom were heat lamps over the sink. Got hot at times.
This is a gorgeous hotel. The entrance is very grand with beautiful chandeliers. The staff was attentive and polite. We checked in quickly and were given a large room with a balcony - even a spacious bathroom. The metro is very close if you're heading to the monuments or museums. Also the zoo is about a half mile up Conn. Ave. which was convenient. Adams Morgan is nearby and there are lots of great restaurants in between. You can't beat this location anywhere in D.C. I've stayed at the Omni in New Orleans, New York, and Richmond over the years. They are all an excellent choice. Nothing.
I had to cancel my reservation due to an emergency, and was charged a full day at the hotel. I never stayed there. Very unfair.
Hotel is nice enough, clean and comfortable, polite staff, the normal positives from a hotel. Besides parking it was a very good experience. The only thing I would complain about is that parking in the area is incredibly difficult at best. The hotel has plenty of parking but it costs 50$ for overnight and there wasn't really any warning for this fact, if there was it would have been much less annoying.
Walls are somewhat thin. Could hear hallway noise and room next door.
Room was upgraded. Original room would have been very small.
The OMNI is a beautiful hotel with a lovely garden and nice pool and gym. Excellent location for conferences in the Wardman Center just across. Good connection to metro. I had booked a room 3 months in advance including 4 days on a conference rate. 5 days before the main meeting I received an email telling me I had to move to an airport hotel, 30 minutes drive away from the hotel and the conference I was going to attend for the Tuesday and Wednesday night of my Sunday to Saturday stay because of a 'technical error' in booking. I had a meeting at the OMNI the very Tuesday. When calling them management (Chris) was non-accommodating and impolite and the offer of a refund to find another accommodation is little help 4 days before a conference with 4000 attendants. They offered to cover one of the nights in the airport hotel. Overall friendliness in the hotel was not at the level usually encountered in places of this level and I had to call at 14:00 one day to get the room serviced.
The hotel is dated. The window air conditioner kept the room too cold and woke me up often
The large bathtub--one of the great things about older hotels Location close to the metro Friendly staff
Close to transportation and restaurants.
I liked the size of the rooms. The elevators fit maybe 4 people. One of the two broke and we waiting for about 15 before we took the stairs from the 8th floor. We had a group of friends staying on the east end. Someone was throwing and party and you could hear them when we got off the elevatorl. It was unacceptable how loud there were. An hour later security came and did nothing. I was glad my room was on the other side of the hotel.
Very little Terrible customer service
It's a great location. Near metro and plenty of great places to eat. Walls are paper thin. Had very noisy neighbors. Called staff but did not help.
workout facility, proximity to conference at Omni The first room they put me in was one of the worst in the hotel, on the first floor right next to a very busy, noisy street. The noise was so bad I got hardly any sleep. No one should be put anyone in a room like that, particularly when they are staying 4-5 nights. The next day I had to get pretty assertive with the staff at the front desk that I wasn't staying in the room another night, and needed to be switched. They claimed they didn't have any rooms available, but when I asked to see a manager, they were able to locate another room instantly. After two separate trips to the front desk, they finally moved my room.
Close to where I needed to be. Good amenities on site. Bed was comfortable, not luxurious, but fine for a night or two. Price was great, I assume marked down for slower holiday time while there was no business travel.
Great location adjacent to Georgetown and walking distance to several restaurants, grocery and drug stores. It borders neighborhoods and a good elevated view of the area. hotel parking is $35/day including tax.
Beds, size of rooms construction, noise, no front pull up, crowded lobby
Good value for money Wifi didn't work properly, breakfast is extremely expensive, restaurant was not that good and overpriced with bad service.
Staff was friendly, room was decent size, hotel was clean The shuttle service was unreliable and did not run during the hours advertised on their website - they ran shorter hours in the morning and evening which forced us to pay for cabs during times we anticipated having transportation. The location is on the far outskirts of Georgetown and other than a few offerings of the Glover Park neighborhood, there is not much within walking distance.
No room service and no in room movies.
Feel they should also have self parking and not only vslet
Only the bartender was the most friendly.foods R expensive. I will not grade this hotel to any star. The most uncomfortable stay of my DC stay & 30 plus years travel life. The beds are horrible. I still have shoulder pain. The curtain did not close at night keeping the outside light illuminating through the window. In my 30 years travel life I never experienced such a bad stay & sleepless night. I will never recommend any of my friend.
We had business at the Russian Embassy. The Savoy Suites hotel was perfect for us. The Russian Embassy is kitty-corner across the street. Traveling with a toddler, the kitchenette was helpful. The front of the hotel is under construction. Our room was in the back, and the construction was absolutely no factor for us. The description of the hotel listed "parking" as one of the features of the hotel. I assumed "parking" meant "free parking". I was wrong. A parking fee of $30/night was assessed. I do not appreciate negative surprises when traveling, and I felt like I was taken - not a feeling I enjoy.
Everything. Very enjoyable. Parking fee of $30. per. Especially when a comment on the website stated "free parking underneath". This fee would make me re-think staying again.
comfortable bed, clean bathroom hallways are old and worn in need of some refreshing
Inconvenient not have microwave and fridge in room. Had to pay extra for this.
The room was extremely clean as were the sheets and towels. The cleaning staff ensured that there were more than enough towels and wash cloths in the room. The front desk staff members were also very nice. The building overall seemed quite clean and it was relatively quiet. The location is perfect especially for the price. It was only 5 mins from the Van Ness Metro station which quite close to all the major sites. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room and most of the outlets were extremely loose. Also there was no continental breakfast. However, there was coffee and tea in the lobby.
The night I arrived at 130am. Hotel was overy booked. I had no room . Front staff did managed to get me room in another hotel 30 minutes away. I was very upset . Especially when I booked my room over a week ahead. This was terrible experience. I was not able to sleep the night. Terrible experience.
Close to AU City noise
Easy access to the metro. Restaurants nearby. 23 bucks for overnight parking. Friendly, helpful staff. NA
Location for touring Room was small with NO easy chair for relaxing watching TV
Close to Metro station and in quiet neighborhood with housekeeping daily and parking for a fee. Absolutely no amenities are available, except parking for a fee. There is no restaurant, no food and no water available for sale. Parking area is shared with a rental company.
Staff nice, comfort acceptable, room size acceptable, location great, price reasonable accept for parking upcharge No amenities, parking was an upcharge - though convenient. dated facility, slow elevators
Convenient Friendly staff Paid for room and had to pay for vehicle parking too, should be included with the room.
security, helpfulness of staff, comfortable shower curtain wouldn't stay closed on either end; window curtains did not block out sunlight because they wouldn't close on the ends; internet was terrible--I couldn't use it.
Its near the metro so you can get around town. The room I was supposed to have should have been room with a King Bed, but when I arrived it was a standard room.
Nice hotel. Very convenient for sight-seeing in D.C. due to the Metro stop. Also convienient was the pharmacy and Starbucks in the mall and the nearby restaurants. Biggest complaint is that the website says "on-site laundry facilities" - one washer and one dryer was not what we expected and was very inconvenient. People had to wait in line. Also, more variety at breakfast would be great. The same thing everyday got boring.
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was kept very clean and the facility is in a mall with restaurants, drug stores and specialty shops. There is a Metro Station (subway) in the basement of the mall, making it convenient to downtown and the historical district. Parking is well organized and convenient. The business center allowed us to easily check our e-mails. They had received damage from a storm a few weeks back, and no one told us this when we made our reservation. There was no change in the rate for the inconvenience.
Our family really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We took the metro to get around the area. It is conveniently located below the hotel and is only 20 minutes to D.C. The location of the hotel is within walking distance to nice restaurants and upscale stores. We felt very safe walking around the area both day and night. The breakfast offered a variety of choices. Our favorite was the omelet made-to-order. The manager's reception every evening was a great way to wind down the day before going out for dinner. Room was lovely and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We will definately stay at this hotel again when we come back to D.C.
Great room, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts were excellent. Location of the hotel was perfect.
Metro station at the hotel, good safety feature. Easy access to DC. Carpets a little shabby.
Location, friendly staff, great room Elevator broken so needed to take stairs or wait 15 minutes for an elevator. Room service slow. Food not bad/not great. NOt sure what service tax of 22% on room service was. Unsure whether to tip another 20%. We Did!
The staff was so helpful and friendly. Our server for the breakfast buffet, Riehard was wonderful. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy. the front desk staff was great as well.
I went there really stressed and left totally relaxed. And great breakfast bar! The parking is a little bit pricey.
Staff were wonderful everywhere, front desk, cleaning and in the restaurant....the breakfast crew were fantistac. The ventilation system. We stayed in suite 600 and it was so noisy and ancient we had to shut it off completely at night so we could sleep. The room had been remodelled and was lovely, but this was horrible.
Nice clean hotel in a nice location with great views Nothing
The location is spectacular as there are several restaurants in the building and cinemas just across the road as well as a variety of shopping stores & departments. There is so much to do if you enjoy shopping and it's very close to D.C. The Metro is literally below the building so easy to move around.
Everything Too many different elevators (transfers) to get to parking lot.
I frequently travel to Washington on business and tried this guest house. It is literally across the street from the Metro. It is very clean, very dignified, very quiet, very welcoming, and very relaxing. I will return. I liked everything. Two things that I liked, but others may not like:1) There are no TVs in the rooms or on the premises. There is wi-fi. 2) Room 114 is next to the kitchen. You smell coffee at 6:30, so if you are not a morning person take note.
comfort of bed, quality of bathroom, outstanding free breakfast, afternoon cookies and wine. Attitude of ALL staff. Quick, flexibility of owners. Opportunity to meet owners. Conversation in the morning and evening at the dining room table. Location
A/C, breakfast, very convenient location - near our daughter's apartment, National Zoo, busses and Metro, Starbucks; good restaurants within walking distance; nice patio to relax on Weird mattress - too bouncy/soft, towels too thin, carrying suitcases up to third floor, lack of electrical outlets
The staff was lovely and incredibly helpful. The room was clean and homey. The location was great right next to the zoo and the metro.
