The location is amazing, the staff are beyond amazing. My only gripe with the place was the cleanliness around the windows which appeared to have black mold. This place is perfect if you don't mind a small room.
Staff friendly and helpful. Facility clean. Room cramped. Shower drain slow, shower pan filled with water while showing. Window air-conditioner effective but loud. Breakfast good but too few tables during morning rush. Staff friendly and helpful. Facility clean. Room cramped. Shower drain slow, shower pan filled with water while showing. The location was excellent and was walking distance to nice restaurants and stores in the Little Italy area. The room that we stayed in (a Double) was VERY small, with cement floors, so I found the online pictures to be deceiving. We also found hair on the bed sheets, which they replaced for us.
Nice area. Not too touristy. I had one of the more spacious rooms and it was the perfect size. Very nice staff.
This is a great hotel, in a great area (Little Italy), with amazing yummy breakfast and very helpful staff. The rooms are very clean, with microwave and a fridge. The value for the money is amazing. Our room was very small, and you couldn't open the window (the AC wasn't enough) and it was a little suffocating.
Loved the king bed it was very comfortable. The breakfast there was amazing! The bathroom is tiny and cable wasn't working.
The breakfast with the fruit salad was refreshing and the croissants yummy! Access to a printer, a computer and internet. Staff (Guy at The front desk) was very nice and helpful. He deserves a raise! No free parking even though I found a street parking. No hairdryer in the room, when I got the room it was hot in the room. In the morning I heard the people working on the building next door.
This is an excellent place to stay for those who are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. The rooms are small, but efficiently laid out and clean. Everything you need is availalble, and the wifi is adequate. The complimentary breakfast is very good and the coffee is excellent. No need for a Starbucks run in the morning. The staff is friendly and someone is always available. This hotel is not spacious, from the lobby to the rooms, everything is compact, so if you were planning on spending a lot of time in your hotel, or you equate space with comfort, this might not be the place for you. If your looking for a clean and modern place to stay that's quiet and well located, you can't find a better hotel, especially for the price. Parking would be difficult if you had a car. I did not have a car so it wasn't an issue. There is a construction project next door (new development), so if you were facing it, it might be loud. It never bothered me and I'm a light sleeper, but I did hear someone else mention it woke them up at 7am because their room was right next to it.
Very clean and friendly Bed and pillows a little hard. A/C on the loud side.
the television did not work. it did not had sign. There was a constant noise coming from the wall of my room - a snapp. Everything else was all right. I would come back there in despite this things.
Right around the corner from little Italy. Great food there. Short walk to the waterfront. Everything was a short drive away. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was just enough and presented nicely. Nice little clean BOUTIQUE hotel. It's right in the name. So it is not like a typical chain hotel. We would definitely stay again!
Little Italy is such a beautiful location. Plenty of restaurants which my boyfriend and I loved. The hotel has a comfortable atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. The rooms were well kept and great for taking a break from being out and about. I think this is a great spot for weekend getaways. There was small pastries, granola, yogurt, fruit and drinks in the morning which was nice. It wasn't enough to get me full but enough to hold me over until my next meal. Overall it was a cozy and relaxing place to stay for a weekend getaway. There was parking spots for the hotel but unfortunately they were all full. Not too big of a deal. I just had to leave my car in the next street over in public parking. Paid $12 for 24hours. Parking can be hard to find in this location because it is a hot spot. Other than that, I have no complaints.
The bed and pillows were great - + the ocean view nothing
pool and location on the beach
Great location on the Waterfront, good facilities, would recommend to all. Bit petty with charging for water in the room after the amount paid for the stay, slightly devalues the hotel.
Location to beach, restaurants, Starbucks was ideal. Only 15 mins from airport
The location: first the beache and ocean at your feet and second bike hire and excellent restaurants next door. The breakfast area and set-up needs improvement; these are relatively poor compared to comparable inns.
Great location and nicely remodeled rooms. We had an ocean front room on the third floor, which was perfect. The hallways reveal it's still an older hotel, but the carpet is nice. So do the doors, frames, and other small details (that add up).
Excellent staff customer service, clean rooms (carpet needs some stain removal in hall in places), run of the mill but tidily administered continental breakfast, amenities adequate as promised, obvious recent refurbishment of much of the premises, quiet inside the hotel. Nasty drunken hobos camped outside on ocean boardwalk with no security or police response. More so, no amelioration of loud, loud drunken after-bar partying by young people on said boardwalk beneath our window.
Right on the beach and very convenient to area restaurants and shopping.
Great location and amazing staff!
Enjoyed being so close to the boardwalk and ocean. Overall had a great time. The front desk staff was great, especially Mercades. She was so helpful and quite pleasant.
The view of the beach & ocean! The toilet was very short. only complaint.
Great place to stay with good local restaurants and shopping, and it's Pacific Beach!
Nice, updated, comfortable rooms with mini fridge and microwave. Great location on Pacific Beach. Great black-out curtains for sleep! The pool area is nice because you can stay there, sand free, and still enjoy seeing the ocean. Only complaint is that the "partial ocean view" really doesn't have an ocean view at all. I had to go out on my balcony...stand...and turn to the left to see ocean. If you're sitting you don't see anything. If you look straight ahead you have a lovely view of the public bathrooms.
People were so friendly and helpful, great location, great room, restaurant so close, no need to drive just walk. Everything was so close to hotel there was no need for car. Parking in February was easy but come summer it is a nightmare.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms and facilities were spotless. Bed was very comfortable. Our room fronted right on the boardwalk and beach. Fresh cookies and fruit available in lobby every afternoon. WiFi worked well and bathroom was nicely stocked. Small microwave, Keurig coffeemaker, and frig were appreciated. Pool was being worked - know it has to be done sometime.
The location is great, it is a beach front property. The staff from the cleaning crew to the front desk people are not friendly, they knock on your door at 9 to clean your room, you can only check in at or after 4. The beds are very uncomfortable and seems very old. There were cockroaches in the bathroom.
We came in about 12.00 am and they said our reserved room was already sold. They instantly upgraded our room...Loved being next to ocean...we had a great stay.. It would have been nice if the rooms where a little larger...also no light switch as you walk into room.
Location Always loud late into the night every time we stay here
Beachfront location is beautiful, staff is super friendly (front desk and cleaning), room was spotless, balcony view is great, area is safe. Everything you could ask for at a great price. Highly recommend! Parking was $20 a night (although cheaper than the nearby garage), younger teenagers were very loud in the halls and upstairs. All minimal compared to the positives of the hotel.
Liked that it was so close to the ocean and beach... I thought it was very overpriced for that hotel...
The ocean view.
Location on the beach is good, if that is what you want. A bit worn - noisy area, and much too expensive. you really pay a lot for that beachside location.
Rooms are very clean, comfortable, very convenient to everything you need to enjoy and relax during your vacation None, I like everything about this hotel
The staff and location were great. This is a great place to stay out in the Point Loma area, with a great view on either side of the complex and an exceptional staff.
Great bed...clean, close to entertainment. My "server" was in a strange mood. He ignored taking my order 10+ minutes. He didn't fulfill a simple request, place half my order in a box. A fellow server saw his lack of professionalism and actually did his job.
Close to the main SD's areas - the dock it's attached to the hotel I spent only one night...
Breakfast is good. Nice, quiet, clean rooms. Comfortable beds Parking should be included in rate - especially for self park.
Free cocktail hour & breakfast = awesome
The service was very good, and very friendly
Great breakfast, very confortable too expensive, extra services all paid (parking, Internet)
I really enjoyed the beautiful beach of la jolla. it was also convient to have utc shopping center just across the road The long queues for breakfast in the morning and having to be there by 9 which I think very early
Water and snacks included Sofa bed very incomfortable. I had two rooms so we took mattress from one room to place on the other sofa bed
The hotel staff were friendly and the complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails were great. The second day of our stay there was no maid service for our room. It was a disappointment.
Great staff and excellent breakfast, nice touch with the cookies. parking
Nice, solid, clean room
Very nice hall way
rooms were very clean and bed was very comfortable. fitness centre was good. it was well connected to the downtown. my flight was in the evening and i wanted to stay in the room till afternoon but i was not allowed to do the same.
The rooms were very spacious, clean and the beds comfortable. Staff were excellent, so helpful and friendly. Overall great value for money. I would definately stay there again and would highly reccomend.
The staff was polite and friendly. The rooms were above average, the price was just right. I will (and already have) recommended this hotel to other people. The time that the spa/pool was open was not very good. Needs to open earlier and stay open later.
Room I was given close to cleaning facilities and was a little loud at time but overall great place.
The room was lovely & clean. I appreciated that! I feared I left some items behind....called the hotel 3 times. Left messages to call me... no one ever did. Even if it's bad news, I believe those that call deserve a call back.
Price was good because it was tucked away in a not so nice area, but close to the freeway. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Very strong perfumy smell in lobby and in rooms. Also, several times we asked for a "firm pillow and only received feather down pillows. It's very difficult to sleep on those.
Very nice hotel with bery spacious rooms. There was a couple strip clubs right next door.
Renovated hotel. Very clean and modern. Good facilities with pool, spa and small gym. The location is in the middle of an industrial area but not bad if you stay on premises.
The room was clean and comfortable. The location for functions at he Convention Center is excellent.
I liked everything. Great location right in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter, friendly and helpful staff, downstairs bar, clean and spacious room, nice decor, free wifi, and the mobile check in via text was a cool feature. $40 valet is the only parking option offered by the hotel, and although I didn't have a problem with the service, a discount for hotel guests would be nice
Space, cleanliness and kitchen, will definitely recommend. Parking valet is $41, ouch !!!!
Overall great experience
Staff very helpful, they still had breakfast available in the last half hour. I'd like to see a guide for TV channels. TV was blurry and needs some improvements
Reasonable price, cheap place to stay in S D. Area around hotel not too bad, seems safe enough. Bathroom was clean and in good shape, bed was clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night. Would stay here again for the price Inside facilities showing it's age. Carpeting, furniture showing wear and tear. Small rooms w too much furniture in them. Driveway entrance, parking lot is a little tight space wise. Don't expect a nice view.
The price was right Close to a lot of good places No problems finding parking Clean Friendly staff Really good breakfast Small room (not that big of a deal though) Slightly weird smell Bed/pillows weren't that comfortable Remote control didn't work
It was very clean and well decorated; which gave it a modern feel.
I was a little bit skeptical about booking a Super 8, but it turned out to be the nicest motel I've ever stayed at. The room was small but I didn't care since we were just a couple and we just needed a place to sleep. I was definitely impressed by how clean the room was and how friendly the staff also was! I will definitely try to book here the next time I'm in San Diego.
It was an adequate place to sleep while exploring SD
The room was small but had a mini-refrigerator and a microwave + coffee maker. The location is convenient to all area highways, very easy to get anywhere. The staff is nice and the room service s doing their best considering how badly the rooms need repairs Getting in and out of the property is super-awkward, the driveway is tiny and very easy to miss. The elevator looks like the one in the public parking garage. The rooms are tiny and the walls are paper-thin, you will hear each word your neighbours (or their TV) say. Light switches in the bathroom were half broken and the fan sounded like a jet on takeoff.
Easy access to where we needed to be. Breakfast room extremely crowded. Our room had a distinct order as if something was sprayed in room to mask an unclean room. Air conditioner needed a thorough cleaning.
We got there, slept, and left. It was really good for sleeping in and leaving from. The TV didn't have an HDMI port so we couldn't Chromecast movie musicals to it. It made me cry almost as hard as the movie musicals would have.
There was cable and it was close to the gas lamp district/convention center Very dirty rooms. Carpet had not been vacuumed. My BF walked around the carpet after a shower and his feet were turning a black color like he had been walking outside. Comforter had stains, white stains (don't even want to know) and weird gray stains. Tub had hair inside and other small debris. The inside of the coffee machine was dirty as well. When I opened the ice bucket, a fly flew out and it bugged us all evening cuz we couldn't catch it. The tv didn't work when we just got in and the guy who fixed it barely said a word to us. After leaving the room for a few hours to get dinner and coming back and deciding it was too dirty to stay in, the people at the front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. No room change or discount/refund (it was over 200$ for a one night stay). will not be staying again
The room was clean; no complaints about service. Parking is extremely limited at night.
The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was a nice way to start the day. Friendly, helpful staff. I always stay at Super 8 - consistent in quality.
Close to shopping, restaurants and local attractions. The hotel is located between Seaworld, Old Town & down town.
Located across the street from 2 strip clubs in a questionable part of town with questionable people roaming the streets is not my idea of an advertisement of being located close to a family establishment such as seaworld.
Location was ok, you can have a smoke really easy just by going out, but thats it. We found a roach walking around the handwasher, where our toothbrushes were, so I had to go to a close by store and purchase new toothbrushes, the front desk lady wouldnt help us with that, only gave me the phone number for the manager whom "was never available to take the phone call"(cause I tried for a week after our visit), and with all that trouble, the hotel still charged the deposit for leaving later than anticipated due to this incident of having to go outside before leaving. We had the king size bed which could've been comfortable but it had some kind of plastic beneath the sheets and it was really hard to take off so it was noisy and really sweaty in the night even when the weather was great. Carpet was really stained This was the second time I stayed at this hotel, our first visit was good but never again, it seems they just stopped trying.
The room looked updated and clean. No issues with cleanliness whatsoever. The room had everything we needed. Parking is free!! Even though it gets packed with cars every night, I was still always able to find a couple available spots. They also have an underground parking section with plenty of spaces I case the lot above is full. The house keeper forgot to restock our toilet paper one day.
Well located for San Diego Marathon Distinct smell of cigarette smoke in our "non-smoking" room
Seaworld, zoo, safari park, downtown are 10-25 mins drive. If you are looking for visiting places, and do not care much about luxurious stay, want to save some money, this is the right hotel. Overall stay was fine, only problem was the washbasin would not drain water. We had complained about it to staff, but it was not repaired.
It was close to the airport as well as not far from where my friend lived. She was able to stay over with me at the beginning and end of my visit. She picked me up from the airport and we toured around, stayed over the first night and then went to her home. On the last night we toured around near the airport and stayed over again so I could get an early morning flight the next day. She took me to the airport for the flight as there was no other way to get there. I didn't like the smell of cigarette smoke and not feeling secure. The first night on arriving at our room and trying to use the card to open the door we found that there was not only someone in the room but it was likely a homeless person and his bicycle!! None of the staff seemed perturbed by that! On the second stay the room, a non smoking room, stunk of cigarette smoke. We were kept awake by loud voices in the room next door. My friend heard a loud argument that sounded like it might turn violent when she awoke in the night. I was glad that I wasn't there alone! Not a safe place for a woman to stay alone!!
Comfortable remodeled clean room on 3rd floor. Nice staff! Coffee in lobby. Toiletries and nice towels. Flat screen tv. A lot of comfy pillows. Free parking. Good value for location and comfort. Close to sports arena and beaches. Hair dryer worked well. Air conditioner worked. Front desk called and asked if we needed anything and hoped we enjoy our stay. NOISE and area. Strip clubs right around the corner. Highway noise is loud. No coffee maker or microwave in room. No breakfast was available.
Jamal, the evening desk clerk was very helpful and kind. Creepy area with strip clubs on the corner.
When we checked in, we were hoping for a non-smoking room, but were placed in a room that had obviously been used by a smoker. I almost never complain, but had to. My kids were coughing and complaining about the "gross" smell. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our request right away. The second room was the polar opposite: very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. We were within 100 yards of two different "nude review" establishments. The hotel was a very basic, bare-bones facility in an industrial neighborhood. It is central to a lot of San Diego's attractions, but not the most pleasant, family-friendly place I've stayed. During the day I felt fairly safe, but when the sun set, I had a general feeling of being unsafe and on high alert.
Everything was clean nice Friendly
Great view of downtown SD skyline The service was sub-par. Since they don't have electrical kettles in the room, we ordered some hot water for tea. After 30 minutes and several more phone calls, nothing showed up, even the operator told us she called house keeping several times. We had to give up and find a cafe nearby. The room was not as clean as the Sheraton we stayed at previous night. There are old coffee stains on the carpet, rust marks in the shower. The hot water actually ran out when I took a shower, first time ever at a 4-star hotel. The front desk wasn't that helpful either, keep referring to a printout when asked for recommendations, not exactly concierge level of knowledge of the city as one would expect at a nice hotel.
Very clean stylish room, flexible check-in and friendly staff, good hotel room amenities and facilities, great location, wonderful cleaning staff, lots of nearby restaurants and shopping, decent gym and a small pool. No bath robes.
The ambiance was very nice! The parking was very expensive 45.00 a day.
The staff remembered the guests and were very helpful. Some nights they sent dessert to my room which was a treat. I loved the in room expresso machine - yummy!
The people were very nice. The free coffee was awesome. The hotel did not have my reservation. Said it was lost. Also, since the rooms are over a club, it is loud. Their showers offer no privacy.
The room Very noisy! breakfast sold as continental, is in reality a paper bag...
The check in was quilt and friendly. Room was beautiful and modern. I love the old with the new. Perfect blend. The curtain between the room and bathroom was the only downside. It made taking showers cold all the time. That is my only complaint. Everything else was great. The curtain between the room and the bathroom.
I stayed at The Keating last year when I was in San Diego for the same event. I returned because I liked the location, the hotel atmosphere, value, etc. The bed is wonderful. The second night I was there, I was awakened during the night by loud bangs, crashes, thumps on the floor, and found I was unable to sleep. This continued from 1-4 am. After I brought it to the attention of the hotel staff in the morning, they indicated that there had been other complaints. I felt, however, they did not act quickly enough to correct the problem.
Gas lamp district. Lots of history. Close to many restaurants and clubs.
service, staff are helpful This is a tricky hotel - open shower. Be aware what you are going for.
I liked the modern decor, totally not what you would expect from looking at the building from the outside. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I would definitly come back (without my lil one) I didn't know the room would be so intimate =)
The room was large and nicely furnished. There was a high ceiling and windows letting in lots of light there was an overhead waterfall shower. There were high-quality stereo speakers. The people at the desk were responsive, providing advice about restaurants and other places to go and arranging cab rides and restaurant reservations. All in all a very pleasant experience. We would definitely go back. The hotel is in the middle of the crowded gaslamp district, which resulted in some noise in the evening. I scarcely noticed it however my wife was more aware of it. It did not interfere with our sleeping.
Room was very comfortable and very well equipped. The hotel is located in the centre of Gaslamp quarter which is very noisy area on Friday and Saturday overnight.
Location was ideal for staying in the Gaslamp district. Parking situation was not ideal. Had to park elsewhere for the whole trip.
From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The deluxe double room was amazing - very big (bed was huge!) and kitted out with all the mod cons one can ask for - we really were impressed and felt settled straight away. The location is brilliant - a few steps from the Gaslamp District full of restaurants, bars and some shops - great atmosphere during the day and especially at night time. The hotel was excellently decorated - so modern and luxurious for a 4 star hotel. There was noting we didnt like, but the breakfast was a little basic - a breakfast bag served to your room each morning consisting of a cereal bar, yoghurt and juice. Whilst a cooked/continental breakfast in their restaurant, adjacent to the hotel, would have been nicer, the bag was always delivered at the time requested which was a nice touch. And lastly, a small note re the deluxe double room e on Pent House Level - the shower is a walk in one, situated in the room, so if you are travelling with anyone other than your partner, it may not be the most practical room!!
- All hotel personnel were professional and very nice - Hotel was clean - Wi-Fi was free and relatively fast - No surprises or disappointments - Room and hotel decor was just OK
Breakfast was fresh and good.
Location was good. The breakfast was very good. We were given a handicap room, which we did not need. There was a wall outside our window so we had no view. There was no tub. The shower drained into the middle of the bathroom floor.
The staff was excellent, our room was comfortable, the jacuzzi was perfect, and breakfast was great!
Everyone who worked there was nice. And the room was very clean and plenty of space We were not told that was going to be a $75.00 extra charge for our pets which was not cool after I called and said that there will be pets coming with me prior to me showing up.
Great location for visiting UCSD. Breakfast was good and service great. Beds and bathroom were very good. Free cookies and beverages in lobby. Easy walk to Chili's restaurant. Reasonable price for all. Desk person at check-in could have been more "welcoming", acted more like he was just waiting for his shift to end. Hallway decor looks surprisingly dated compared to exterior.
there was a bad smell in the room and sound of air conditioning system in the hole was very high.
It was convenient to use their business center, service was great, staff was friendly, beds were extremely comfortable. Room was clean and had modern decor. Would definitely stay again, although comparing this to other city and beach hotels in this range, pricing for this room should be less, especially if parking is $10/nt.
Location was very convenient with easy access to freeways and close to all the sites. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly and the beds are comfortable.
having to pay $20 per night for parking was not a nice surprise at check out
Staff was polite They gave me a room near the elevator on 2nd floor despite my advance request for upper floor. Had a view of a wall & roof! No safety box for my laptop. Pipe noise occasionally. It was priced well but I'd rather pay slightly more for better place next time
The toilet doesn't work well, and the bathroom is a bit horrible. My first time to live this kind of hotel, but also would be last time...
Nice facility and it was Clean Entire Building was stuffy. We stayed on presidents weekend( also Valentine's Day) and staffing was not adequate to serve many many guests.
They did NOT have the room available when I arrived for check in. This was an AWFUL experience as I was traveling with children and an elderly person with no bed for them.....
I didn't like that I had to pay for parking. I mean I'm spending good money already just by staying there. Why do I also have to pay to park my car in the hotel.
Right of the freeway so it was easy find and close to restaurants.. $20 per night charge for parking, no microwave in room, the room we had was very small and near the stairway so we could hear the foot traffic thought it the night. TV control had a significant lag. One set of elevators was old and dirty.
Positives are the location, location, location & accessibility to Gaslamp district. Staff was courteous (enough). Breakfast was decent. 10 years ago, the Hampton was worthy of being in the Hilton family. The staff person didn't bother to tell me about the amenities or location of anything, but noted that he did that for another customer. My smoke free room reeked of smoke and the only thing they had available (they said) was the handicapped access room on the 2nd floor. The elevators are stuff and hot. Parking is cramped and nightly fee is a tad high. I needed to iron my clothes for a party and the iron was broken. When I returned the iron, the staff person was snippy and acted like I was incoveniencing her. I did not feel I was demanding and was very polite. another cust. complained that the AC was not adequate.
The train was not even a problem!! Nothing!
Staff Paying for parking
Visibility is very limited in both directions when exiting the parking garage. Pedestrians can't see cars approaching the exit and vice versa. I almost collided with a group of pedestrians. Maybe some signs or flashing lights to alert drivers and pedestrians? You just can't see oncoming traffic on the highway without almost putting your bumper at the edge of the street.
Great location, friendly staff and nice breakfast. I specifically picked this hotel because it was the best deal and had an airport shuttle. I was bummed when my flight arrived at 1030pm to find out the shuttle stops at 10pm. It would have been nice to know that beforehand.
comfortable bed included breakfast with some healthy options wifi worked well airport shuttle, but does not pick up after 10 pm thin walls, can hear conversation through them my room was over the dumpsters (5 am trash collection) greeted one morning by a cockroach crawling out of the shower drain
It was clean ,quiet and located in just an ideal location for a great walking vacation. nothing.
The location was great. But that's about it. Shower head broken! Tile cracked and falling apart. And most of all the bed was uncomfortable. The main reason why we love to stay at the hamptons is because we love the beds! Unfortunalty this was not the case.
The location was perfect for gas lamp district and petco park, just a quick trolley ride away. Walking distance to the trolley and to little Italy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfy and had an enjoyable trip. The beds were too soft for my liking. My fiancé prefers cool showers and the water only came out warm/hot.
It had everything you would expect, the original lady at check in was a bit rude. I asked if it were possible to check in early and she actually rolled her eyes at me. Breakfast was below mediocre.
Mattress had a huge blood stain and other bodily fluids on it. Do not recommend (you get what you pay for--cheap = cheap).
The Rooms were very clean and beds were nice. Over all the location could not be any better. just taking harbor drive for about 10 minutes and your are down town. The traffic on harbor drive is light at night time no its pretty quiet. One of the other best parts is having Jimmy's right across the street to grab a drink and some food.
The location was great for me but... The first room they checked me into was not cleaned from the last guest. The desk clerk fixed this right away and was very apologetic. Also, if you are looking for a hardy breakfast this is not the place. Overall the place needs to be remodeled, it's getting old and a bit run down.
Good location Some channels on the TV were fuzzy.. Also very noisey construction was very tired and we didn't get much sleep due to the construction right outside of our balconey
View was nice and breakfast was good. Shower curtain was torn and because of street construction cars driving by were a bit noisy at night.
Friendly staff with shuttle service from the airport No issues
Rooms were nice and so was the staff The way it looked on the outside it looks like a Motel 6
Close to Airport. Comfortable beds. Internet/wifi access. Shower head is the best one I've ever used. n/a
Room was clean and smelled nice. Train seemed to go by every 30 minutes which was very close to my room and the train always sounded it's horn. Bed was very uncomfortable. The mini-fridge did not work. TV was an old CRT.
Good price, clean room, easy parking, close to everything we wanted to do friendly staff. A room marked as non-smoking smelled so badly of smoke, I could hardly breathe. Also there were old cigarette burns everywhere. No hairdryer.
Really liked the price and location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had a laundry mat on site. Easy access to public transportation and freeway ,places to eat , stores, attractions. The bed was a bit hard.
Mike at front desk was awesome carpet was sopping wet had to stuff on floor so our wouldn't get wet
AC and the shower worked well. Underneath a freeway. Pretty sleezy, also had a lot of people smoking and making out in cars, etc. Refrigerator wasn't working. Had a cigarette burn on the counter in a non smoking room. Said freewifi but is 5.00 a day. Lady told us we need to come out by 12pm then the front desk said it was 11pm when she called at 12. ?????
I did not realize that I had booked a room at the salvation army's homeless dormatory. Most of the other guest seemed to be homeless backpackers. The bed was good.
Price -The bed quality was awfull. I didn't sleep well on it. My back hurt me when I wake up the morning. - The front desk was impolite with me. - I booked a room for 2 days, and they cancelled the second day in the morning without warning me because the hotel was already fully booked. This is unacceptable ! I had to find another hotel all the day
Staff was rude/acted as if we were putting them out. Neighborhood is surrounded by homeless people living on the street unless you drive a smart car or motorcycle parking is joke. Nothing like to pictures.
Gave me an upgraded hotel for same price They were overbooked and got no warning. And the upgrade hotel was not much better weird smell
the second floor we stayed was nice. the male in the front desk the older dark male was rude to me and others waiting in line.
said there was free wifi, but there was no free wifi
This motel isn't in the best location, because it's right under the freeway overpass and right next to the train. But I'm not gonna lie this motel was so clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. And if you don't want to spend so much on a nicer motel I recommend you just stay here.
Way too high for a mediocre place. Place just seemed run down. It was loud too. Place is just serviceable and I chose it for convenience sake. For what I paid, I expected much better.
Nice staff, great location, nice rooms, clean hotel in general. Good breakfast area and selection. Worlds slowest elevator. Tv's in rooms not HD.
The price was great, the rooms were super clean, the shower had the best water pressure of all the places we stayed on our trip. The bed was comfortable and clean. The person who checked us in helped us find a place to park, was very polite and pleasant to work with. Overall, great experience. The only inconvenience we had was there is limited designated hotel parking available. That being said, we easily found parking on a safe street right around the corner, less than 500 feet away.
The location was great! It was in the center of a lot of San Diego hotspots. My fiance and I were staying here for spring break to visit Sea World and Balboa Park; it only took us ~15 minutes to get to both places from here. For what we paid for and for just a one night stay, the room was sufficient. It was very clean, especially the bathroom; and it seems like they just revamped the place recently. The bed was quite comfortable. Other reviewers complained about the noise level since it's on a busy main street, but our room was facing the street, and we were able to still sleep well and spend the night without being bothered. Overall, an excellent place to stay and well worth the money. I would definitely stay here again next time we visit San Diego. Parking was difficult because there were only 6 spots first-come, first-park in front.
The room was was quite new and very clean. Bed was firm but supportive and sheets were upscale. Overall very comfortable room. There are only 6 parking spots for 18 rooms otherwise you have to park on the street. No ice machine, no pen or paper in room and no lamps on the end tables next to bed.
Appreciated the modern rooms. Very quiet and simple. Bathrooms were clean! No hairs found in the drains or corners. Absolutely no early check in. Even though house keeping is there at 9am, they will not give you a room till 2pm. There is no phone in the room. So you can't call to ask for anything. TV was very small.
Immaculate and Pefectly decorated. Free wifi. No ice and limited off street parking. But owner offered to help us find a spot if we had trouble. No microwave, or refrigerator but we knew that.
The rooms were clean. The fact that it was in the middle of everything was very convenient. There wasn't enough parking for everyone there. I had to park on the street both nights I was there. There wasn't an ice or vending machine of any kind.
Loved the hotel. Just there weren't any restaurants around that stayed open past 10:30
The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was very good The main entrance and lobby area is under construction this includes the proper restaurant and bar area. We were not aware of this when booking. This made navigating around the place a bit of a challenge, the make shift restaurant bar was in a banquet room. Construction noise carried on even on the Sunday
Everything! We were expecting such an amazing stay. As soon as we walked in, we were in awe with the modern, yet contemporary feel. The front desk host was also nice as can be. NA
