9.1 Excellent
Pros: The location was wonderful. Right on the beach, along the Strand, walking distance to many good restaurants. No complaints about the actual facility at all.
Cons: When we booked our stay, the staff neglected to mention, or even allude to, the fact that there would be a beach volleyball tournament mere steps away from the hotel. This meant loudspeakers and crowds right outside our window starting early in the morning, and crowded restaurants to boot. Also, don't bother with the room service, as they get their food from the restaurants around the hotel. If it's worth it to you to pay $5 plus 18% extra to have a restaurant's food delivered to your room instead of just taking a five-minute walk in a beautiful area, have at it, but otherwise, save your money and just pick it up yourself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms, great free breakfast, right on beach!! Quiet.. Close to everything - walk to beach, restaurants and shops.
Cons: Nothing!
9.7 Excellent

5.7 Okay
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Horrible service. Basic hotel. Location is great. Could really do a lot with this place to be top notch.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Right on the beach, good breakfast- all cold food. Clean rooms
Cons: No swimming pool
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The room and location were excellent. Everything in the room was great and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: I liked everything, but the breakfast area was overcrowded and the food options were limited. But it was good quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hermosa Beach is a great area, great beach--and the Hermosa Beach House is in the sweet spot and seems to be the best beachfront hotel. Clean with wall switched gas fireplace in our room...great big bathrooms.
Cons: We booked an Oceanfront room and ours was catty-corner--we could see the beach at a 45-degree angle from our balcony but I consider beachfront to be facing the beach and actually on the Strand. Still had fun and the hotel was excellent.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Great view of the ocean/beach. Nice balcony. Spacious room with a fireplace. Solid continental breakfast.
Cons: No late checkout option. Slightly overpriced for the room quality.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming, great location, interesting architecture, right amount of funk, very helpful staff, good breakfast.
Cons: door knobs were a problem, but it is a real problem for an old house where you are trying to keep it authentic. Half the rooms have a shared bath—not a problem, but good to know about.

Pros: Comfortable and homey!
Cons:
The Culver Hotel - Culver City - Building
4
9.1 Excellent (424 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The upscale Culver Hotel is a charming historic property in the heart of trendy downtown Culver City. It is famous for housing extras during the filming of the Wizard of Oz in 1938, and plenty of Hollywood stars have called the hotel home over the years. The general atmosphere is upbeat and friendly and appeals to all travelers. Located in downtown Culver City, on the west side of Los Angeles, The Culver Hotel is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, theaters, film studios, and galleries, plus it provides easy access to Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and LAX. While there is plenty of foot traffic, the area and the hotel are not overwhelming. The amenities at the hotel are slim, only featuring a small fitness and business center, but the dining options make up for the lack of physical activities. Meals are served around the clock at the hotel and guests can dine at the communal table in the Crystal dining room, in the lobby in front of the cozy fireplace, or alfresco on the patio. A free continental breakfast buffet, daily happy hour tea, and nightly live music are all popular with guests. Accommodations at the hotel are elegant and unique with a vintage and modern design and look. Pillow-top mattresses, marbled desks, mini-fridges, and snack trays are in-room amenities. Rooms vary in size and shape because of the historic nature of the building but all were renovated in 2013 and feature up-to-date amenities. When the rich and the famous have maintained part-time residences within the hotel, and the hotel has appeared in movies such as The Little Rascals; the destination is a must-see.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a warm welcome from the moment we drove up. The staff is very is personable. The hotel decor is lovely our room was so nice and comfy. Very shabby chic. Food was incredible! Great location too! I can't wait to come back!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, decor was lovely and very interesting, very active night life scene with live music in the lobby. It was clear that most of the people at the hotel for the night life were not hotel guests. Location was excellent with many restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful ambience. Very "homey", with a gracious and polite staff.
Cons: The room was relatively small, with an overhead and noisy air conditioner. The "Velvet Room" at the hotel appeared charming, but despite the fact that the hotel manager recommended going there on a Thursday night, we could not get served there at around 9:50pm because they were "shutting down". Ironically, we had tried to order drinks at the Velvet Room bar 10 minutes earlier, but there were too many people at the bar to get our order in, and by the time we located a table in the bar, which was about 80% occupied, we were told that management had instructed the bartenders to "shut things down". Needless to say, we were miffed that the hotel manager had highlighted the speakeasy as a charming amenity of the hotel at the morning breakfast , only to be shut out from the premises prior to 10:00pm on the very same evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is ADORABLE! So much charm!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: High Tea was the best!

4.5 Okay
Pros: The building and decoration is great. The furniture, excluding the bed and television and bath, are nice.
Cons: The previous occupiers dirty linens were in the living room on checkin (6pm). The staff were apologetic though and it did assure me that the sheets were changed so that is nice. The bathroom wasn’t clean. There was a bunch of hair around from a previous occupier. The bed was all springs and no padding. Television didn’t work. Breakfast in room was oatmeal and a waffle for $35. It was cold and sad when it got to me. I wouldn’t stay again.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The look of the hotel is very cool. The rooms were spacious and clean with a nice bathroom area.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Huge rooms deigned and furnished lavishly.
Cons: A bit too far from any touristy attractions. Not a walking hotel b
9.7 Excellent
Pros: It was a peaceful getaway for me and my wife. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
Cons: Room service was magnificent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was ready and clean! The staff were friendly and attentive. We were only there overnight but it was very nice, quiet enough and clean (which to me is the most important feature)!
Cons: Nothing, it was all good
6.8 Good
Pros: Terrific location, amazing staff: Lincoln & Jack could not be nicer. Well appointed rooms and facilities
Cons: The card key system is a CONSTANT irritation. It won’t open your room door consistently and you need to go back to the front desk. The parking gates that use the same key never worked right. Replace the key system and you’d rate close to a 10.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice decor and great location
Cons: Charge for parking which is ridiculous. Girl who checked me in was a bit rude
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All
Cons: Pay for parking my car

10.0 Excellent
Pros: They had a nice breakfast, clean rooms, good internet. Easy check in and out. Airport shuttle

9.1 Excellent
Pros: Location, modern decor, gym open 24/7, Nespresso machine in room, knowledgeable concierge
Cons: Dress code for dinner at penthouse restaurant. Would have liked to enjoy the view but not up to getting dressed up after long day of sightseeing / biking along beach. No self park, valet only
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Nice smell in lobby
Cons: No complimentary water bottles
5.1 Okay
Pros: - There was one really fantastic bellhop - Near enough to my personal gym (Equinox) - Near enough to shopping, etc
Cons: - None of the rooms have an actual full ocean view - Rude/weird reception staff - The second room I was moved to disgusting i.e. someone else's hair shavings in the shower, what looked like dried vomit on the blinds in the bathroom - Literally heard a family on the elevator say "I'm so ready to get out of this place" - Restaurant is overcrowded with the LA "wannabe" set, not a great scene, actually a really weird scene - "Luxury" is a stretch here. This hotel would make sense in Vegas
7.7 Good
Pros: Decor was nice, staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Small room, valet parking was expensive, no free wifi or breakfast.
The Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey - Marina del Rey - Building
10
8.9 Excellent (1,322 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Built in 1991, The Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey sits on one of the largest human-made harbors in the country. With a waterfront location on a harbor, business travelers and boating enthusiasts are the main clientele at the hotel. The Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey is located in Marina Del Rey, on the water but not the beach. Just a short drive to Santa Monica and Venice and a painless drive to the Los Angeles International Airport, the hotel attracts business travelers who enjoy the upscale chain's rewards program and its consistent luxury. However, a 10-to-20-minute drive will take sightseeing guests to public beaches, shopping malls, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood Boulevard. Most of the clientele are there for events ranging from business meetings to bar mitzvahs to weddings, and the hotel offers ample facilities to accommodate them with more than 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, including a beautiful wedding gazebo. There is also a lovely pool, nice spa, fitness center, two tennis courts, and a free business center. A delicious restaurant is on-site offering New American cuisine, and a poolside restaurant and bar also caters to guests. Accommodations at the Ritz are spacious and feature standard rooms with good sleeping options and features like Frette linens, featherbeds, and Bulgari toiletries. The Ritz brand is not known for its striking style, and the rooms at this hotel are highly nautically themed. While staying at The Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey, guests can wake up and walk out the back door to the water. However, the water only features docks and boats, perfect for boaters and business travelers needing a fresh start to the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't begin to find words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Marina del Rey Ritz Carlton! We arrived on a Wednesday morning with a sick child. The staff immediately took charge helping to get us situated with a room and going so far above and beyond ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. From the person who greeted us to take our luggage, to the valet, to the front desk staff to the wait staff in the restaurant and the gift shop (which opened up for us to get us meds in the middle of the night) to the manager who followed up even after we had left their hotel, every layer was kind, attentive and fantastic! They honestly made us feel like we were at home with family who was concerned about us. What a fantastic experience! T
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked that the hotel was near the water, close to a concert I was attending.
Cons: I booked this hotel because they had balconies and it was near the water. The balcony was closed due to renovations. The bath tub was small , hotel was a little outdated. Not as special as a experience as I was hoping for
7.4 Good
Pros: Staff is great, and generally a very nice hotel.
Cons: Doesn't live up to our expectations based on previous experiences at other Ritz hotels. It feels tired, not as luxurious as others, and is starting to show some age without upkeep. A simple example would be the pool has cracked tiles and feels rundown.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff was outstanding; from valet, front desk & concierge all the way through to pool attendants, room service and bell desk.
6.0 Good
Pros: I like the avalibiliy of the staff
Cons: For a younger crowd in there 25-30 age it's not an appeasing hotel it's more for older crowd like 50-60 so for me being a pro Olympic athlete and being 23 yrs old I didn't enjoy it that much
6.2 Good
Pros: Nice place, but not worth the Ritz premium. I would stay at the JW Marriott in Santa Monica next time I'm in the area.
5.4 Okay

Cons: Totality , needs upgraded , bathrooms , amenities , need more restaurants .
5.4 Okay

8.5 Excellent
Pros: For the price, the hotel was excellent. Rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. It was walking distance to the main attractions in Hermosa beach which was nice. The rooftop pool was great and the view of the sunset was awesome.
Cons: I feel like the hotel nickel and dimed the guests for everything. The bathroom products were cheap and left my skin and hair extremely dry. There were bike rentals, but they were 20-30$ for the day. Parking was 30$/night. I generally felt like the staff was overwhelmed as well.
5.4 Okay
Pros: View
Cons: Could not change reservation when plans changed. Awful
7.4 Good
Pros: House keeping staff are friendly and quick at preparing the room. Check in staff was friendly and it was a quick process. Clean room with a lot of space and giant mirror, balcony and fridge.
Cons: The fitness center is a small room with mainly cardio machines. Please add some free weights. The elevators, vending machine and ice are located in just one area of the hotel; my room was literally 88 rooms away from them. The bathroom next door had a pipe issue that would make a huge noise every time the guest was using it and woke me up several times at night and in the morning. At check out, the front desk lady was in a hurry and unfriendly (I didn't catch her name but she was red headed with eyeglasses).
6.5 Good
Pros: Liked the room. View was beautiful.
Cons: Didn't like paying for parking and getting a 100 fee that they say is mandatory after paying 170 for a room that was very pricy,

Cons: I can't think of anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were FANTASTIC! (The even helped us find a pizza place open late to get a late snack). Everything was in walking distance, we didn't take our car out of the garage once!
Cons: N/A
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I loved the all around look and feel of the hotel. It was clean, the staff was hospitable, and the room was amazing.
Cons: Parking in the parking garage was an additional $125 for the 5 nights I stayed and was not disclosed when booking the hotel.
7.7 Good
Pros: Nice staff.
Cons: Some rooms can be quite an extended walk from the elevators.
6.0 Good
Pros: Room service and housekeeping had the best customer service at of whole hotel!
Cons: It looks like a hospital. No one greets you or shows that they want to be of service. I was looking forward to a bath after long conference and when turning on the water a huge clump of hair came out of drain and killed it for me.
9.4 Excellent
Cons: Coffee machine in room but no ceramic coffee cups provided to use it. Told per IHG platinum member could not use club room with free breakfast because rewarded with bonus points.
4.2 Okay
Cons: I didn't get the room I reserved, I paid for ocean view room and I got a street view room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very nice stay and will return in the future. Our son and family were also there and we all found the hotel to be helpful and attentive to our needs. The location is great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the staff to be very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy. 5 stars.
Cons: We also did NOT like the parking fees, but with that the only negative it's not such a big deal.

4.5 Okay
Cons: The air conditioner broke during the hotel visit and when I was served at the restaurant the cook came out with the food and handed it to me. He called out the dish because he did not know who ordered it and I was served in a large bowl instead of a plate.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Ambiance was great from the beachy/sea vibe in the lobby with the "flying" seagull sculptures hanging from the ceiling a wonderful scent machine in the lobby that makes you feel like you are at the beach. Very romantic setting at the outside bar complete with couches and fire pits. Beds were super comfortable.
Cons: $30/day for valet parking is a bit steep when there is plenty of parking around the hotel. Give an option for people to park their own cars, even if you have to charge a fee.
6.5 Good
Pros: The remodel is first class.
Cons: The front desk service was fine. The dining was terrible. Slow inattentive service, overdone steak, raw salmon, overpriced.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I had a fabulous stay at the Marina del Rey Hotel. Our room had a amazing view of the marina, was very well appointed and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to that part of LA.

Cons: Couldn't get the DVD player to work. No safe
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are huge and in great shape. Refrigerator and microwave in each room. Good breakfast and the hotel is being updated / refreshed.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: It was 10-15 mins from the beach waterfront. The customer service was friendly.
Cons: The room we stayed in had no phone signal connection and it was on the first floor. The rooms were outside of the main building and the lower level is where we had no signal and had to step around to get a connection
2.2 Mediocre
Pros: It was convenient to where I was working.
Cons: The room was dark and the lighting poor. I had a view out of my window of a wall. It was clean enough to my liking. No one bothered to ask how my stay was when I left. Parking was
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location to beach and restaurants. Also great staff and very clean and comfortable rooms !
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, decent breakfast, and near a number of good restaurants.
Cons: Gym is limited - few machines, no free weights.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, price, breakfast, cleanliness, staff.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: N/A
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really nice, one of the best continental breakfasts I've had at a hotel - everything you could possibly want including hot dishes that tasted freshly made. Always very clean and breakfast room staff were very polite. The pool area was nice, unfortunately it was just too cold when we were there to enjoy it. Located close to the beach and a number of nearby restaurants and other shopping.
Cons: The room we were in was supposedly a Queen with a sofa bed, but it was more like a Full with a sofa bed. My 3-year old didn't care about the comfort of the sofa bed, but an older kid might have been pretty uncomfortable on the thin mattress. Also, we had a few ants in the bathroom - might be a hard thing to control with 1st floor rooms in a warm climate?
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The BWP was extremely clean and felt comfortable. I enjoyed the layout of the room and the furnishings. The breakfast that was included was worth it. Not to mention the front desk was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The pool was so small and the weight room wasn't very big at all. But this wasn't a big deal at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was very impressed with this hotel. I rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed that I thought about writing one while I was still there! The pool was nice and clean and I wished that I'd had more time to enjoy it. So too was the spa. The breakfast was a complete breakfast that I could last all day on! Everything in the room was also nice, clean, and comfortable, and there was so much more I didn't get to take advantage of. Also it is in walking distance to the beach. The business center was well equipped and in good working order. The staff was nice and friendly.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: The price of almost 200/night got me motel 6 like accommodations.

Pros: Good location close to everything
Cons: Beds were horrible so hard and the blankets were more like curtains. Loud construction and noisey neighbors

Pros: The price is an amazing bargain! To get the same quality in the area, you can expect twice and three times the rate. Charming management, excellent maintenance, and location on Artesia with great places to eat for all budgets. Directly across from a Starbuck's! LAX-bound buses stop down the street. Very easy to get signed in and leave quickly.. a boon to the busy traveler.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to airport, beach areas, quiet hotel, not a high end but clean, comfortable, friendly staff, excellent value
Cons: Parking is in short supply, but very manageable. Area feels safe to park on the street.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Clean, newly remodeled, great price, close to the beach
Cons: Tight parking
8.5 Excellent
Pros: We had the big unit, which had a living rm, bedrm with 2 beds, and kitchen. Very affordable, CLEAN, friendly staff and across the street from starbucks.
Cons: The beds were a little hard, but that is personal preference.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The price was pretty great for how close it was to the beach. It was in a very nice part of California. The room was very clean and up to date. It was about 5 to 10 minutes away from the beach and very close to a lot of shops and stores. The staff was great also, the main guy when you check in offered to move our car Tuesday morning because of the street cleaning, that way he didn't have to wake you up at 6 in the morning.
Cons: The only thing slightly wrong was the bed was uncomfortable, but definitely not bad enough for me to not come back.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean tastefully decorated, nothing fancy but all the basics, and well maintained, people friendly, what local motels used to be, will, stay again
Cons: Coffee pot would be nice but does add significant cost in daily operation, Starbucks across the street, opens early, towels could be upgraded, but what is there is fresh, clean and acceptable,

5.1 Okay
Pros: breakfast was good
Cons: I didnt check in until after 1:00am, I flew in from Miami. Requested a late check out, the front desk clerk told me 1pm. I was woken up by knocking at the door at 11:30 then again at 12:30. Not sure why that happened, wasn't cool.

Pros: Comfortable beds. Clean room and shower.
