Take Alaska Airlines - Clear was great to have at both airports, especially seattle where there was a large security line
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-STLJul 2025
Give yourself extra time. Love the self check in options.
KimberlyFlew with DeltaSEA-FLLJul 2025
Ask for headphones to watch screen movies as all of mine are bluetooth and that will not work. Bring own food and wait until plane moves before hooking up to Deltawifi.
Verified travelerFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesSEA-ONTJun 2025
Make sure to be there on time because the bag drop off can be a little complicated and it takes quite some time to get to the gate.
MichelleFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesSEA-BLIJun 2025
Flights in the late afternoon and evenings are often delayed, just be prepared for that.
Verified travelerFlew with Scandinavian AirlinesSEA-MFRJun 2025
Be prepared for a long layover. Direct flights to Medford are slim.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-MKEJun 2025
Order ahead or bring own meal on plane
Verified travelerFlew with FrontierSEA-PHXJun 2025
Wish I had known the seats were so uncomfortable. Wish I had known checked bags and carry on bags were 75 each. Wish I didn't have to wait so long in line with only one clerk working. Wish I had known we were going to have to take a bus from the gate to our airplane. Wish I had known the seat space is smaller than any other airline I have flown. I do not recommend Frontier.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-DENMar 2025
Alaska Air is very efficient & on-time so allow enough time to get luggage, go thru Customs & Immigration, & long security lines. Terminals in SEA are readily accessible by trains but more signage is needed. Fortunately, Information booths are everywhere & are manned by very helpful staff.
ShuraFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-BURApr 2025
Don’t . Delta has all the gates together for easy transfers and much more food and beverage selection
MichaelFlew with DeltaSEA-DENApr 2025
Train from Denver airport to downtown is easy to use.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-CLEMar 2025
If you have a rental car, give yourself time to catch the shuttle to the airport. Also be aware traffic is awful and will often be standstill on the way to the airport.
JanFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-ANCApr 2025
Again snacks unless you want to eat prior or order ahead of time for flight. Wear layers as usually warm or as my case a little cool.
SuzetteFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-IADMay 2025
Take a shower before arriving at airport and don't wear perfume at all! Pack bags tight, so boarding is smooth and quick.
AngelFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-ABQMar 2025
Fly into a different city with more options for departure times. Not to have a six hour layover.
DanielFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-IADMay 2025
Seatac has gnarly traffic right now, took 35min to get from highway exit to the terminal
AllieFlew with Alaska AirlinesGEG-BOIMay 2025
If you can, arrive at airport no sooner than 4 hours before flight.
RobertFlew with United AirlinesSEA-SFOMar 2025
If you’re picking up a rental car it’s not very clear that you have to take the train. Signage can be improved at SFO.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesGEG-PDXFeb 2025
My advise to customers is to make sure there’s at least 1 hour during layover as delays and gates can add to stressful circumstances as you rush to meet your connecting flight
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-PSPDec 2024
Be courteous of your fellow travelers. Remember the carry on baggage rules. Keep your jackets out of the storage bin on full flights. Don't move other people's luggage from one bin to another. Step out of the isle as quickly as you can. Be sure you're in the seat(s) assigned to you.
OksanaFlew with Alaska AirlinesGEG-SANFeb 2025
Arrive early, the registration kiosks may not work and registration will take more than an hour.
DanaFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-MKESep 2024
That was my first time flying Milwaukee to Seattle & vice versa. I think we choose a good airline. Seattle’s traffic & airport is busier than Milwaukee so get there at least 2 hours early. Download & keep an eye on the Alaska airline app for flight info updates.

SeaTac lets you make an appointment to get through security. SpotSaver. No cost. Online.
KimberleyFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-OGGNov 2024
Pack snacks and patience. Ear plugs or noise-cancelling headphones are a must!
SusFlew with DeltaGEG-ATLNov 2024
I wish that I had known how to connect with the wi-fi; I had set up an acct almost two years ago. Not information that I remembered. Bring healthy snacks if diabetic. Wear compression socks if needed as it is a long flight. If older and wearing pull-up depends be aware that it will set off TSA alarms as will foil packs of medications in your luggage! If experiencing any difficulty with walking or shortness of breath...ask for a wheelchair ...it made a world of difference in Atlanta!
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-MCIOct 2024
TSA lines in Seattle can get very long early in the day. Also, plan to return your rental car early since you have to take a shuttle bus to the terminal and those lines can get long early in the day, too. Currently there is construction in the North Terminal, so be prepared for moving around barriers. The day I flew out, the escalators were not working.
BarbFlew with DeltaSEA-MSPSep 2024
Try not to get to the airport too early. We came off of a cruise and had a 6 hour wait. Unlike MSP, SEATAC didn’t have free WiFi. But, McDonald’s did. And the three hours before the flight we used the Delta Lounge which is always amazing.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-HNLSep 2024
Bring your own food or eat before boarding. Get to that airport 3 hours early for a domestic flight, the TSC screening line was 45 minutes long and if you have to walk to the other side of the terminal you might have to run.
JoanFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-JFKNov 2024
SeaTac should add sand to the painted floor from the terminal to the light rail. It is VARY slippery when wet and the northwest (Seattle) is known for rain.
BrandonFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-INDOct 2024
Arrive to the Seattle airport much earlier than you would the Indianapolis airport. This might be obvious, but the Seattle airport is much larger than the Indianapolis one.

It’s a big airport ask where your gate is
ReidFlew with United AirlinesSEA-LAXOct 2024
SeaTac does not have a very good or equitable system for security lines. First class passengers don’t have a TSA precheck option, while there are only 2 TSA precheck lines on opposite sides of the terminal. Highly recommend getting TSA plus Clear, as the airport heavily favors this combination, with each section of the terminal having one of these options. I almost missed my flight because the only TSA precheck line was about 45 minutes long.
GregFlew with Alaska AirlinesBLI-SEANov 2024
Now that Southwest doesn't fly in and out of Bellingham Washington there are no good options to Seattle. You're best off driving or getting a shuttle, it's much more likely you'll get to Seattle near the time you think you will. Flying is just not a dependable option anymore.
BruceFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-LAXNov 2024
Tight interline connection at LAX - barely made the flight. Directions from AS arrival gate to separate AA commuter terminal for AS codeshare flight connecting to TUS would have been nice.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-BOSJul 2024
Generally Alaska Airlines have very friendly and helpful people in my experience. They don’t have TVs in all planes so make sure to download their app if you want entertainment on the plane.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-BNAJul 2024
Fill or buy a bottle with screw on cap with water for flight. If you have to get up and down it can be placed behind the seat in of you.

When going to Disneyland fly to this airport. Only 8 miles from Disneyland and super quick to check in and check out. Highly recommend this airport!

When flying from Seattle to Denver, be ready to take our any electronics and put them in separate bins when going through security. You will also most likely have to take off your jacket as well. During our flight back the flight randomly changed so be on the lookout in case that happens to you! It was by chance that I checked my ticket and saw that the gate changed last minute.
ElaineFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-PHLMay 2024
If you have any metal in your body (e.g., spinal fusion screws) make sure you get in the line for the TSA security screening booth that makes you stand on the yellow marks with your arms over your head. I wish I had known this before I wasted time in the alternate line with the walk-through detector.
BrentFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-BNAMay 2024
Seattle is a cluster, too. You have to enter at one end of the terminal to check bags, walk to the other end of the terminal for non-Pre-TSA security checks, then back again to the starting end fir the boarding gates.
PeggyFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-EWRMay 2024
Bring earbuds or head phones to watch movies on your electronic devices. The plane doesn’t have a screen for showing movies.
JayFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-JFKMay 2024

MelissaFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-HNLMay 2024
Bring your own snacks because they will not feed you any kind of a big meal and it’s five hours. It’s a long time to wait without food. You do get a pretzel bag and a cookie and two drinks but that’s not enough.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesPAE-HNLJan 2024
The noise level at Paine field is low so you can actually hear the announcements. Seating is comfortable and there is a small coffee/ snack area which I was not expecting. Flight on Alaska was pleasant except for a little turbulence. Not crowded!! It was a 5 plus hour trip but very relaxed
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-TPAFeb 2024
Alaska is a great airline and price is great, but be flexible on time. Pack a lunch and bring a water bottle to fill up beyond the check point…
LaurenFlew with DeltaSEA-LAXFeb 2024
If you have kids, bring your own screens. We were counting on the inflight entertainment and it was a definite letdown. Also, TSA Pre-check is only available at station 2, but wait times are posted at each station so you can see if it’s worth the walk.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-RNOJan 2024
have devices fully charged- no charging ports and no outlets gate check your bags because the compartments are SOOOO tiny and there is room for maybe 60% of the passengers to place items in these compartments
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesSEA-BOIFeb 2024
Keep an eye on boarding time. At SEATAC, if you are not sitting at your exact gate, you cannot hear boarding announcements.

Crew was very friendly. Our bags showed up at the carousel within 20 minutes of arrival.

Flight was delayed and hour due to tire issue. First flight of the day, this issue should have been discovered prior to boarding.

Both legs of the trip were delayed about an hour. Planes were new, liked the WiFi availability and entertainment available. Crew was very good. People were happy and helpful. Liked the pilots - they provided updates throughout the flights. Snacks were underwhelming. Drinks were good! Like the smaller sodas and they actually came through the cabin 2x which was great. In Seattle airport the construction caused much confusion for Alaska. Process of printing own tags, etc was chaotic for people who didn’t check in online prior to arrival which in turn caused issues for those who did. Plus airport gates were too small for the number of people flying.

We did have to wait an hour for the runway to be cleared but other than that it was fine.

My seat row didn’t have tray tables which made it pretty difficult to get comfortable on a four hour flight. Good experience outside of that, though.

There was no sitting place in Sea-Tac airport. Even airline didn’t provide any food or dinner. I will never take this airline in my future travel.

Crew was very rude and uncaring. When someone tried to place their bag in overhead bin and they asked for help, crew told them they could not assist. Crew member then told the customer if they couldn’t place into overhead bin on their own, they should have checked in bag. When other customer helped to place the bag in the overhead bin, they were given evil look by crew member and told to hurry back to their uncomfortable middle seat. This was despite the fact that the plane did not leave until 30 minutes later. The flight was ~80% full; when final people boarded, they were forced into middle seats with no room for comfort. There were a handful of emergency row seats unoccupied. When asked if any of the emergency row seats may be used, the crew said that they would cost extra. Normally if a flight is completely boarded and there are open seats, the crew at least gives thought to asking someone if they want to re-locate to the more comfortable seat, especially on a long flight.

I am always uncomfortable about the boarding process. I think every airlines has their own procedures for boarding but all of their procedures are inconvenient because it takes too much time to board. If you board people from back seat to front, I think you can reduce the time to boarding.

Our original fluffy was cancelled. Our substitute flight didn't fly. We lost out on our hotel and car rental. Had to fly out the next morning. Alaska didn't give us any meaningful information. The first flight was scheduled to leave at 4pm and the substitute flight at 9pm. We left the airport at midnight for a hotel. No weather. Beyond disappointed.

Good leg room, no problem with overhead storage and the staff was super helpful.

Delayed and took off even later than the scheduled delay time

For a 69 year old with health problems I had the worse experience, no wheelchair when I entered a lady told me to sit and wait while a gentleman told me I had to walk to the Delta station, which I did. I had a carry on and a bag, and I was traveling with my service dog, which was on his carrier and the lady charged me for my carry on luggage, beside all the waiting cause of the delay, I had to walk to get my luggage cause no wheelchair showed up, I am so disappointed. I will get in touch with the company. I got home at 3:00 am, not good for my health situation.

Great experience on Delta. Staff from baggage check to flight attendants were very courteous and professional. My only issue was a personal preference for pretzels instead of the chips and cookies that were offered.

There was no problems, just a little uncomfortable with seats that do not lay back a little

Always good but we must do something about people in rows ahead of you that don't put their seats back up when they are suppose to. And It's rough to not be able to even lean over to get something out of my purse.

Flight was delayed, 30+ bags had to be gate checked. Crew were very friendly!

Everything was good until we were boarding our connection flight in Atlanta, we were told to gate check our carry-on, but when we got inside the plane, there was plenty of room in the overhead.

Did not know my son and I had different seating arrangements. He was fine, but it was disappointing.

Flight was canceled, and no effort was made to help with rebooking, no hotel vouchers, no car transportation and minimal food voucher and most places for food were closed by the time the voucher was given. Waited for 3 hours for bags. Simply the worst travel experience I have ever had

Food was surprisingly good but the WiFi was not great

The crew was great! It was nice to have a pillow and blanket... It gets cold on those flights. I paid extra money to sit where I thought was extra comfort seating, but it wasn't,... So, I was mad a bit about that. I'm hoping our flight home will be better.

Check-in process at SEA was very difficult, e.g., how to check-in and finding where to go to check-in. Staff that helped me was friendly. Security process very disorganized. Stopped at gate C2A to try to get on an earlier flight and four staff didn’t acknowledge me, some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced at a gate counter.

Flight got delayed and it was very inconvenient . Had to come with another carrier. Had to spend one more night in San Francisco.

Logging into next flight was an issue as I never received a confirmation code

Alaska airlines is not what I expected Very disappointed Unfriendly Discouraging Very bad customer service, heartbroken trying to explain to them my situation.

I could not check in ahead of time. Kayak did not give me a proper confirmation number to check in.

I loved flying Hawaiian Air! We didn’t pay to sit together, but we were able to anyway. They had usb charging ports and even outlets in some seats. They served a hot sandwich that was not very good, but we were still pleasantly surprised. The staff was very nice. The seats really made my booty hurt but maybe I’m just not used to sitting so long. Also, the AC was really cold even though I was wearing pants, a hoodie, and a light blanket.

A second drink service on a 6 hour flight would have been helpful.

The steward staff was particularly friendly and helpful. They smiled a lot and seemed anxious to be sure we enjoyed the flight.

Everything was good for the price I paid. Crew was very nice.
