The way the room door was so crowded it was hard to even get the suitcases in the room; the bathroom door seemed to open the wrong way, and overall the room felt very cramped, in need of a design overhaul.
Readonable price, but you will have to pay 22 extra gor parking each night Parking fee, no continental breakfast
There were spiders behind the curtains in the room. They don't tell you when you purchase the room that the only available parking is Valet, then hit you with a $30 valet fee.
Good all around. Reasonable price, nice bed and bath. Easy Uber ride from LAX.
clean beds and generally fairly priced compared to most hotels The staff and managers are horrible. they keys contantly did not work , if you ask the staff for anything they give a stuck on stupid look on their face as if they are being inconvenience for you asking for any type of service. they are certainly not in the service business but pack check. the managers do not try to resolve situations or act as if they care about the guest concerns. Lacking major resolution and communication skills. the location is not convenient
parking options are sketchy
The staff was extremely rude probably the rudest I've ever encountered at a hotel front desk. Hotel was very plain and the decorations look terrible to overall very bland would not go back ever
not much just about everything. I have stayed in better Motel 6s
Nice lobby Small room, reminiscent of a hostel, shower was nearly useless, no water pressure and shower head broken, not to mention sized for a 5'6" person...
Comfertable there is no noise of room servise Two things i didnt like towels was very bad quality and brightness inside room they should change all towels and but stronger curtain
Very very questionable place to stay... Hotel policy, Canceled one night refused a refund even though the booking service was ok to issue a refund. Reception is a joke - takes forever to check-in.
Breakfast Everything but breakfast
I didn't get a chance to try anything. I had to cancel yet was still charged the full amount. They have lost my business for life
The ladies restroom on the main floor is way too dark! I could hardly see!
Bathroom has no mirror; bed is dirty, I have to wear my cloth while sleeping; floor worn out, smell bad.
Hotel staff are great people. The Swingers Cleanliness of bathroom could be improved.
Beverly Laurel is my go to place whenever I'm in LA. The rooms are clean and spacious. The customer service is exceptional, and the staff is more than accomodating! There's a restaurant named Singers 5 feet from the hotel. The food is delish, and I've spotted a celebrity or two whIle eating there. Definitely the hotel to book if you're looking for style and great location.
Enjoyed my stay in a well designed and highly stylized room. It was comfortable and had every amenity I needed.
The rooms had potential They are doing full on construction & demo while still renting rooms. Loud demo started at 7am & continued throughout the day. All day! Super noisey I'm surprised they are allowed to book rooms! Awful the manager gave us a discount
Location Location Location!!!! Right where you need to be! I stay here every time I'm in LA .. The room I had this time wasnt as new/renovated like the other rooms I've stayed in previously. I was a little disappointed but still enjoyed my stay non the less and will definitely return.
The only thing I liked was the location. It is near everything. The room was really dirty and with no manteinance at all. We were awake by the hotel staff at 8 am to see if the could clean the room! 8 am!!! incredible. During our trip to USA we stayed in 3 hotels and this one was the most expensive, ugly and dirty.
Really liked the idea of the hotel, but really under construction. The room was clean, but very minimalist. Staff were helpful. The location was great, though. Very noisy. Construction workers moving around right outside our door. And temporary access entrance door was open all the time, so it felt a little unsafe.
Walking distance to 3rd St with a lot of restaurants and shops. Also a 10 min walk to the Grove. It can get very noisy, particularly on weekends when partiers are arriving at 3am and are loud and obnoxious. The management doesn't seem to do anything about the noise.
Very clean, quiet, and friendly staff. Love the Swingers diner attached where you can get breakfast/lunch/dinner anytime. This hotel was convenient to everything we wanted to see in Hollywood/Beverly Hills. We walked to the Star Line hop on-hop off bus tour and were able to go everywhere we wanted. I highly recommend this hotel!
This is a well-located hotel, with good value for money. Our family of four stayed in a single room which had two beds, a huge shower and was quite clean. Bathroom has a separate W/C so more than one person could be in there. TV set up offers bluetooth/VGA/HDMI connectivity, so bring a cable. There are no decent toiletries provided, just soap and a combo shampoo/conditioner. We expected this, so it was fine. Room was very bright, so had to use shades and close bathroom door. We also had foam pillows, which are a little hard.
classic 50's/60's style noisy, hear people talking in the hallway
The hotel staff was very helpful, and the restaurants on the 1st floor were good options to get inexpensive food. The room we stayed in was very spacious having a full kitchen and living room. A big plus was USB charging ports just about everywhere you could imagine. The only negative was that we found candy bar wrappers in the bedside tables in the bedroom. Other than that everything was clean.
Loved the scenery in the room
Wifi No breakfast included
The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room was exceptionally clean. I could tell the staff pays close attention to details. Simply beautiful facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great computer/scanner/Wi-Fi. The parking. We chose not to have valet parking due to the cost. The parking structure next door had a bit of a walk to get back to the hotel and signage was missing but we found our way. Narrow and steep driving in the parking garage. The breakfast was $23.00 which for us was high. I think it should have been in the $10.00 range. For the cost, it would have been nice to have a free continental breakfast. There was no microwave in the room. They have now closed the spa.
The rooms needed more light.
Convenient location to little Tokyo shops and restaurants. Thick walls (we partied hard and had no complaints from our neighbors.) Japanese toilets, Spa inside hotel, fast elevators. Not very spacious rooms, the spa was pretty expensive. For the price I paid I didn't get the kind of service I expected. We requested a spacious room, but our friends room was much larger.
I traveled with my 3 teenage boys and we had enough space and room to feel comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check in early and supplied extra bedding within a few minutes of requesting it. A taxi was arranged for our travel to the airport and the front staff allowed my son to heat up some food. I was very impressed.
Great location in Little Tokyo with lots of good restaurants and stores nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room is a bit dated with a musty smell. There was a panel separated from the wall.
The location in the heart of Little Tokyo is ideal for a week's worth of adventures! The AC in the rooms kicks on very fast, and they also feature bidet-style restrooms. The executive suites are pretty large and accommodating. The public parking facility is also basically "connected" to the hotel, and is half the price and four times the size of Miyako's garage. Staff is very friendly, and if you are nice and courteous, you will find that they will go the extra mile for you! The walls were so thin that I heard my neighbor sneeze very clearly. I could also hear full-on conversations from other neighbors (not eavesdropping, just extremely audible). I felt badly for those around me because if I heard a solitary sneeze during the hustle and bustle of mid-day, I can only imagine what my coughing must have sounded like during some parts of the previous night. I should also note that the beds were extremely stiff and unforgiving, this may be a pro for some sleepers, however, depending on preference. Also, the actual walk from the public parking garage to the lobby with bags is sort of, "sucky," for lack of a better word. Especially if you're a girl in heels :( ... There lacks signage on the best/quickest route to Miyako from the garage, and the route is somewhat sketchy at night (again, especially for a woman in heels ... alone). Overall, if there is room, park in the hotel garage and pay the extra fee for safety and convenience.
Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Comfy beds. Nice deli and shop. Perfect location. FREE shuttle to E3!
Was able to get an early check-in. My friend left an item in the room and the hotel called to let me know they had it. Location is perfect as there are many restaurants nearby. Plus they have bidets! Enough said! Overnight parking is $30 but that's probably the going rate for hotels in that area so what can you do?
The hotel itself is okay. It was clean and convenient. We had an unpleasant experience with the parking attendant and the front desk person. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that parking is full. The parking attendant told us directions to park our car. As we followed his instructions, we realized that the lot is a public parking lot. He didn't tell us about this. We asked the parking attendant how much the public lot will cost and he said he doesnt know. So he directed us to park at this parking lot without knowing how much it will cost. Then we went to the front desk to ask, and the front desk person is unsure either...why would you tell your guest to park at that parking lot of you don't know how much it will cost them?! And the cause was because the hotel's parking lot was full when we arrived and we arrived at 6pm which is not terribly late. Never coming back again due to horrible service.
The Miyako hotel is a comfortable, clean and well-run establishment. The spa offered excellent massages, as well as hot tubs and wet and dry saunas. The staff were impeccable. The location is around the corner from tourist destinations live the Geffen Contemporary and the Japanese-American museum, and the neighborhood is brimming with excellent Japanese food and shops. It's easy to uber anywhere from here. Downtown LA may shock some, with the numbers of homeless and the mix of sophisticated and gritty all together. That said, it's great to be in a neighborhood with culture and community.
Handy to lots of activities in Little Tokyo. Refused to give us an extra room key.
Our neighbors were fighting and extremely noisy, yet nobody came to take care of the issue.
Really a great location. Room was nice. Staff was fantastic. Shower and bathroom was awful.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was good, particularly as you could walk to local restaurants. Swimming pool was tiny. Rooms very small.
location,and i thought everything was 5 star!!!!
Customer service clean friendly staff and hotel is definitely a 4-star Hilton in bed was very comfortable Did not have a fridge in my room
The staff was very pleasant. It was a lovely hotel and I enjoyed my stay there very much.
The rooms are virtually soundproof; very comfortable sleeping environment with European-style bed linens and lots of fluffy towels. The hotel staff isn't up to date on transportation options or what's nearby. They seemed to be confused most of the time.
the hotel was very nice loved the staying the safe deposit located in the lobby insteed of the room they should have safe in the room
Cleaniness, TV size Location of hair dryer hanging in a pouch on the wall very odd and not correct.Difficult to take out and replace
Super expensive breakfast even if we had a "free" continental one included
I liked everything about my stay at the hotel.
Great location. Walking distance to lots of downtown attractions. Staff was awesome and very accommodating. Rooms are nice but small. No vending and no mini-store (Water, soda, snacks, beer, etc.) Closest store is 3-4 blocks.
The staff, the comfy beds, location Funny smells, noisy electronics/shower, parking price. The place is good but could use an update
Staff was great, location to other attractions The parking garage was pricey considering I paid 200.00 a night should get a discount when staying. The elevators were all not in service. Breakfast was too expensive for a weeks stay. I couldn't find a salon inside for service.
Close to Universal Studios The outside hallway carpet was greasy and muddy. Even after having them clean it, we continued to bring grease and grime and dirt into our hotel room. Our entry walkway was pretty disgusting because of it.
Staff and less than 10 minutes walking distance to Universal studio Wait for elevator and parking was pricey
Best place to stay when going to Universal Studios, and I go a lot. There's a free shuttle that takes you to the entrance of City Walk or you can walk there in less than 10 minutes via the pedestrian bridge.
The room was spacious...good pillows. Good gym, nice pool. Two elevators were out (and have been for 3 years!), making trips up and down sometimes very lengthy. You can call the operator each time you go to the elevator asking to be picked up, but how ridiculous for a hotel of this caliber. Restaurant food was boring. All three places to eat at the hotel had the same menu, with tiny differences. The first meal or two it is fine, you can find alternate foods to eat, but after a few days, a change is necessary. It cost $18 for a so-called, all you can eat 'continental breakfast'...yogurt, fruit, cereal, muffins and coffee! This Hilton is near the Universal City Walk, all franchise restaurants so no good food nearby for real foodies...if you like buffets with all you can eat, this is your place.
Everything was perfect
The pool, corner room & breakfast. The parking situation upon arrival.
Walking distance to universal and reasonable droving distance to many LA locations. Cost of parking.
Very reasonable priced. Although the room was fine, the overall hotel (hallways and elevators) are run down. The neighborhood is also pretty iffy.
excellent breakfasts and room (just been renovated), fantastic shower, good swimming pool. Gym closed for renovation but we didn't mind the location wasn't great (just felt a bit uneasy). But then in LA the only good location is probably Beverly Hills !!!
Managerial staff lack manners and common civility, they dont care. Worst Hotel we have ever stayed in. Its a fire hazard and I intend to report it as such to the appropiate authority. Everything, no bar, poor breakfast, inadequate restaurant ie none. Blackouts caused by Hotel power room/switch board, antiquated breakers and old, lack of maintenance. Fire doors dont work, faulty batteries on door locks for escape routs. It is a very dangerous poorly maintained place. I think the recesion and profiteering has taken its toll.
Nice hotel, handy for the underground
location, close to metro, surprisingly big, comfortable room, nice breakfast buffet, very nice and helpful staff, clean, issues fixed real quick, low price, upgraded without asking! small gym
Proximity to Metro Rail system. Lack of coordination between Front Desk and House Keeping resulting in bad service!
Plenty of parking spaces, parking lot well lit, I felt secure and safe staying here, staff was helpful and friendly
Nice breakfast - central location The hotel tried to charge double the price, we had booked it for - and did not apologize at all.
Wireless internet service in the room was great support. Breakfast buffet could be better, there was no fruits or vegetables at all, during the season
What a great hotel, we got early check in, late check out and the breakfast was lovely.
The environment was relaxing and flowers are beautiful. Staff very friendly and attentive.
This was a wonderful hotel. I'll be staying here on all my future trips to la. It was clean, in a great location, and the staff was very friendly.
the rooms were well presented and very comfortable and the breakfast was great
It was fine
Location The rooms are a bit small and in the one we got we had a shared door (locked) with the next room which made us somewhat uncomfortable
Excellent quality facility
location it's not as clean as it should be
The parking No pet policy
Good location for tourists, nice pool, parking only $12 per day (cheap compared to some other hotels). Staff were pleasant and helpful. Small breakfast room, not enough seating for all guests at busy times. Two rooms were booked using booking.com, but only one room reserved. This was quickly sorted by the person at reception.
Seriously the best hotel you will find in L.A. for the price and location! Very, very nice hotel... Great people, Great price, really great location... You can not beat this. This is located on the Sunset Strip. We loved this hotel!
Really cosy feel in a busy city setting
Very good room, excellent beakfast.
The room was very comfortable - I liked the two rooms. The breakfast was just great!! I liked the big flat panel screen in one room and the second tv in the bedroom. The staff was very frienly and helpful. If you ask me if there was anything I did not like about the Hotel, that is a complaint. Not everyone has the time to file a complaint with the hotel while traveling - you should realize that. 1. only one of the two tv remotes worked. 2. The sink in the main bathroom backdup immediatly when used. Hotel management needs to insure those items are checked for usability every day.
Good local bus for $3.00 round trip going to Manhatten Beach area with shopping and restaurants if you want to kill a day waiting for a night flight home.
The hotel was spacious, clean, well located. Staff were wonderful and facilities great. Amazing shopping a short taxi ride away. Convenient small shop right across the road for basic supplies as well as food, drinks and wine. An easy, enjoyable stay, and great location for getting to LAX early in the morning for our flight. Perfect stay!
It was clean, comfortable and I felt safe there. would have liked some bacon with breakfast. The shuttle was a little late. I thought I was going to miss my flight out. But I made it.
Good facilities, excellent breakfast, good Managers Reception every night, very good value for money.
I really slepted comfortably in the beds. And the morning breakfast was awesome!! I didn't like the fact that the couch was broken, so therefore uncomfortable.
The room was gorgeous! I did not expect the look of an indoor lobby that almost look outdoors! Very cool. Breakfast was delicious and my stay with my boyfriend was fantastic. Thank you!
Breakfast buffet and evening snacks always appreciated and valued Sometimes too much roominess and little time to use it all in the spacious suites... But definitely a valued benefit
The hotel staff were great. Resturant food great....the rooms are a bit tired and in need of freshening up.....smelt stale....very dark and gloomy.. The towles had holes in them not impressed at all.
Checked in within 10min. of arrival, one person ahead of me. Room was great, clean, and comfortable. Great selection for room service. Food arrived within 20min., hot! Food tasted great, I had the pork slider, flatbread pizza, and porkchop. Drinks were cold. Although the food tasted great, it cost me $83! Little pricey. My room was in a corner, next to a storage room, #316. I felt like I was different.
the staff was very accommodating No hot water for my morning shower. The heating function of the wall unit didn't work. I used the extra blankets provided.
The hotel common areas and in room amenities and decor were very slick, modern and meticulously planned. Patio was great for reading. This is one of the feel good hotels with great courteous and friendly staff. Morning breakfast was very good as well.
The location is great. The manager, is very accommodating. Hotel restuarant, in the restaurant, is also wonderful. The outdoor area is very relaxing and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. One of the employees was rude and said disparaging remarks about the guests. The hotel manager smoothed things over. There was lipstick on the glass in the room that was wrapped in plastic (like it had been cleaned).
location noisy, poor service
The hotel staff was excelent, specially the general manager, very concern about his guests confort and about the guests could be doing better in the city. He recommended great places and restourants in the city! They had computers for the guests without one to access the internet. Charges for the parking.
good location .. in the midle of every thing old hotel .. it should be 3 stars not 4 stars
The hotel was convenient budget wise. The staff weren't very friendly and didn't help much especially when not using the hotel services i.e. hotel car, tours..etc. The best thing was that the bus stop was close to the venue. They need to do a better job in house keeping too.
good location needs refurbihing ,rooms look very old
The hotel was clean but soooo old it really needs renovation and fortunately enough we didn't have to use the AC as it had a very annoying sound
Wireless internet service is useless.
Very enjoyable stay.
the hotel is old and need renovation, the hot water stoped for more than two hours
Massive room, very clean, nice bed, staff were very helpful and polite plus had a fantastic view of the hollywood sign None
Price, friendliness of staff and location No elevator or continental breakfast.
Nice clean hotel. Helpful staff. Good value for money. Good location, nice view from the window. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms, although not very fast. Intense traffic make the rooms not very quiet. Awful coffee from the machine. Slow internet.
It was wonderfull, very good location, free parking space, great choice. Our room has a great view to Hollywood sign, but this side is a bit noisy.
price and location The location is convenient and the price is affordable but the room was smelly and the sheets were dirty. This is certainly not a place for couples or families.
the stuff was very friendly and really helpful with everything we wanted. Free parking. Clean room. the internet didn't work in the room but only in the corridor. The neighborhood didn't seem safe and nice at all although it is on a central avenue. there is not much to do around the hotel in the evenings. you have got to take the bus first in order to go to a subway station, but the bus stop is close to the hotel (5 min walk)
Location and price It was a non smoking room but the room smelt like a smoking room. My clothes smelled like cig smoke when I unpacked at home. I was around no other smokers during my trip and my suitcase was in the room and in the car only.
Centrally located Stale smoke smell
Friendly staff N/a
Loved the way they had updated the hotel; it was comfortable and pretty without being generic or "sterile." Be warned: there are NO cable channels, or movies or anything to watch really, though the rooms have giant TVs. Also, overnight parking is $29 and there is no room service or restaurant (yet) or even a vending machine!
Cleanliness and simplicity. Very retro which was a throw back touch you cannot duplicate. Loved Cassell's! Nothing.
Last minute reservations led me to this hotel. I was at a wedding and the celebration was extended and we needed a place to crash. Price is decent, parking is not what I was expecting. Even if you stay you get charged 32.00 bucks to leave your car in the premises. Parking like the rest of the hotels around the area is ridiculous. 30 something bucks for parking in a hotel you are staying... This charge should be shown in the cost of all the websites where the reservations are made. Hey... the room is 158.00 with 26 bucks of taxes and services and 32.00 parking fee... there you have it. the fees do creep on you.
I liked that it was pretty quiet for an area that was really busy during the day and night. Other than that I'd recommend this place even for an over night trip. The staff was super nice and welcoming. One of the nice ladies in the front complemented me on my fresh tattoo and I really appreciated it cos it was important to me. I guess I didn't like the valet situation, but what ya gonna do about it.
The feel, atmosphere, and decor of the hotel were very interesting, and the staff was nice. The restaurant next door had incredible desserts and breakfast! The only parking option was $32/day vallet. The hotel was very sparse in amenities (e.g. the lobby is pretty much decorative, no breakfast, no coffee). There wasn't a lot of space for us to eat our take out. Where do you throw our baby'd dirty diapers away?!
For-- a night it was horrible
Nice daytime staff Very poor soundproofing. Thin wood floors and thinner walls. Sleep impossible with a snorer in next room - sounded as though he was in your bed!
Trendy modern style, however the concrete floors made the room noisy
