perfect location in the heart of the French Quarter, very nice atmosphere, you feel like being in a different time. Of course, lack of internet connection and fancy entertainment set comes with that
Our room was very cozy and quiet. We felt very safe and would stay there again!
the room was to small and the tubin the bathroom was small for a child to fit in could not site in the tub was not long was a little tub and it keep runing water
location room size
all the workers were friendly had true southern hospitality , great location will definately be back.
Absolutely loved the people and their help with recommendations. Helped to get a bit more of the local feel versus the tourist attraction hot spots. Have stayed before, but still a great location to get anything you want to get to, both inside and outside of the Quarter. Melanie and Allen were superb and always available and willing to go above and beyond. Just had a couple of lights that were out, but was fine. Not much water pressure at ask, and would have been nice to have a little fridge, but no complaints.
thr room and the court yard pool
Great location, comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Walls and couch were filthy, light on street lit up entire room throughout the nights, breakfast always late, cold, and incorrect.
excellent location breafkast
Loved the fact that there was a balcony all alone the front of the rooms, it was a nice view and good spot to read the morning paper and wake up.
Location and friendly, very helpful staff, affordable
location room to be ready at checkin room to be at chateau not down the road. free parking 35$ extra? seriously
The location and the friendly staff Did not like the new decor at all! Air-conditioning was not working properly.
The staff was probably the best ive ever encountered. Very hospitable and friendly. Location was great! Drinks were bery good at the bar. And the best part was being able to relax outside in the pool area I pretty much liked everything. Just thought the beds could have been a little more comfortable. But overall great hotel. I would definitely stay here again
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. They were overbooked due to a wedding for the first night of our stay but they comped us at the Sheraton two blocks away. Then we returned for the rest of our trip, and everything was excellent. Very nice pool area with cabanas, trees, vines, and drink service! Location was also perfect.
Great facility, great courtyar, cute pool, nice modern layout
Wonderful courtyard and pool area. Romantic hideaway in New Orleans
All the above
Very close and convenient to Frenchman Street...choose enough to French Quarter area without being in the middle of it all Nice quiet area, loved having the secure parking lot right there
The lamothe house has an incredible location, we could walk and explore the French quarter very easily. The staff was super friendly, the pool Is beautiful, the room was clean and I loved that they used Aveda products in the hotel bathroom. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will most likely stay here my next trip to New Orleans.
It is close to everything in French Quarter. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Parking was nonexistent. Had to park blocks away for $20 per day. Loading and unloading was hassle since no parking and street was narrow.
In the Quarter. 3 blocks away from the party over at Bourbon. Comfortable beds. No windows in rooms, so very dark. and the sink was clogged everyday. no hotel life. no bar.
In the French Quarter, but far enough away from Bourbon Street so that you could get some sleep Beautiful courtyards Bed was very comfortable Bathroom was recently renovated and was a good size. Staff was very helpful Nothing really.
The amazing rooms, and the wonderfully sweet and amazing staff!!!! Definitely want to return one day!!! work there was a pool, but amazing place anyway
Great location on the edge of the French Quarter. Was a little noisy, but that is expected due to the location. The layout and design of the room was great. I particularly liked the separate living room and bedroom.
Great location, staff super nice, very nice place to stay. Not even noisy unless the idiots on the motorcycles act up No
The room was gorgeous and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Location, people were very nice, beautiful facility
Centrally located. Many amenities of home. Loud on weekend evenings/nights, but that is to be expected based on location.
The customer experience was wonderful, everyone was extremely helpful and very personal. Our flights were cancelled due to bad weather, Charmaine at the front desk made sure we were taken care of in a first class manner, I would highly recommend this hotel Nothing
staff members were very pleasant and accomidating rooms were dark and dreary. no opening windows.veiw of alley and hotel directly across were depressing.
Great value for the price. Location, security, quietness, cleanliness and friendly staff was worth more than the much higher priced hotels nearby. Enjoyed the sundecks in the mornings and the kitchenette for the awesome French Quarter left overs. The layout of the hallways was a little confusing the first day but we figured it out quickly.
It was cozy and a good location to the bars I wanted to be around. The staff was very friendly and had my room ready hours ahead of time. It was perfect so I was able to start my weekend vacation earlier than expected. The A/C unit was leaking water slowly throughout the night making a little noise, but wasn't a huge problem.
This hotel although updated has an old vibe to it. It was a great place to stay. It is not your Holiday Inn or Hilton, so if you find yourself looking for that sort of thing this is not your place. Every time someone comes back to the hotel or leaves the hotel you will hear it. Including the 5 am return from the bar. Truly it didn't really bother me because I was in New Orleans for crying out loud. I came to expect it. However, if you are someone that needs complete silence and would be bothered by people getting back at all hours of the day then you may want to reconsider Hotel Royal.
When i made the reservation I was NOT told that I would have to WALK UP 6 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS WITH NO HELP FROM THE STAFF TO CARRY LUGGAGE! Our wifi did not work..our keys did not work..there was a $150.00 deposit that was not told to us until we checked in..We were not expecting that...breakfast was extremely light which was fine but there was no where to eat beside the courtyard and most of the giests occupied that. The location was great..and it was quiet.
the position is very good just in the middle of the french quarter the room was without a window
Best location for the price in the Quarter. Although I would not suggest it for the fussy, those who want a real French Quarter experience will love it. On first impression room very small and ammenities I am use were missing. After my first walk around I realized what this hotel is really about. We loved it!
The only thing good about this hotel is that is located one block from Bourbon Street. My room was not cleaned even though I requested it. I had to practically beg for clean towels. There was no clock, coffee maker, or remote control for the TV. We were not even told where the included breakfast items would be in the mornings.
Beautiful hotel if not a bit difficult to find. A perfect French quarter inn on Royal. Phenomenal deal in mid sept.
The room was a little small but beautifully decorated
The location of the hotel was very good - one block from Bourbon Street and a short walk to most of the city attractions. The room facilities were tatty and in needs of an overhaul. The hotel could be very good - it has huge potential, but lots of little things let it down. The bed was not that comfy - in fact some of the slats under the bed had been broken, the bathroom facilities were dated (and in poor maintenance), the hanging space was a joke (a tatty wooden hole), the new blinds that had been fitted were also damaged and I even found an empty food carton under the bed. Not what I expected from a hotel in the USA.
Very comfortable and close to everything. Courtyard was beautiful. Not for elderly or people with problems walking up and down stairs, no evevators,
its in the inthe city of new orleans the rooms are to small. no elevators
Parking was almost 30 dollars a day!
Convience to it all. Parking and fast internet right in the middle of all the fun. Kind of a maze. Floor sloped down and so did the bed causing me to have to adjust throughout the night.
It's a charming hotel right in the French Quarter---my room was at the top of a little stairway at the back of the building. It had a tiny kitchenette and beautiful old wall-paper, high ceilings and shuttered windows overlooking a little patio. The bed had a lovely lacy bedspread and crisp sheets. The room was rather noisy, even though it was at the back of the building. There were several different air conditioners or generators, some from the very close neighboring buildings, that would kick on and off through the evening. The room was small but adequate for a slender single---a large person or somebody with lots of luggage might have had trouble navigating.
Perfect location to French quarter.clean friendly and great price. No parking, had to park away from room but it was still worth it
Location is good, rooms are big enough, walls are thin, AC works well. It was uncomfortable to hear the way the owners spoke to the staff. Harsh, short tempered and malevolent.
Staff was helpfull, good location Hotel was very dated. The old time style is nice, but not if the walpaper is peeling, and things have not been updated since 1973. From shower head to single light and mirror in bathroom that is old, hotel needs a renovation badly.
Intimate room setting. Great location...balconies overlook royal st.
kitchen and location, very convenient no office, just a person to let me in.
The hotel is located in the middle of the French quarter, yet it's a quiet area. You're close to the antique shops, Jackson square, Bourbon street - everything is walking distance. The room was spacious and clean. Good value for money. No reception desk, staff attentive but not very welcoming.
The staff was very friendly, including Leo. We have stayed in almost every hotel in the Quarter & 905 Royal has consistently been a pleasant place to stay. The hot water is very slow to get warm in the shower.
The balcony was the best feature of the hotel. We sat out there in the mornings and early evenings having coffee or a drink and watched a wedding parade and other interesting New Orleans events. The location was excellent, an easy walk for 50-60 somethings to the French market and Jackson Square. The room was a bit shabby.
