The price and the restaurant menu were great. I thought the mattresses were terrible. I just don't like sleeping on a futon-like mattress. It was very hard, no give.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly
Small rooms as though it was built for an aeroplane. Compact but with the essentials. FYI No fridge.
Ultra futuristic look, clean, efficient, fun No free parking, costs $60 for 24h
price and location. Men that checked us in and got cabs for us food service. Food great service horrible. Ate at hotel twice and service horrible both times.
The patio diner and bar was great! We could of used more purple lights and also Kleenex!
Wifi speed was decent at 10Mbps. There were literally no employees in the lobby so it took me a while to figure out there were kiosks for a self-serve check-in. Employees or better signage would have fixed that. Once in the room (tiny @ about 80 sq ft), the brochure mentioned that linens are changed every three days rather than with every check in which explains the pubic hair and the stains in the bed. It took housekeeping over an hour to come and change the bed. The bed was practically a fold out couch with a futon cushion that was not very comfortable. The toilet was covered in urine, the office chair in the room was missing wheels, the ice machine was broken, the carpet was filthy, and there appeared to be a transvestite rave going on at 4:30 in the afternoon.
I liked the view. Also the greeters at the first level were very curtious! No fridge. Also the 4th level desk person wasn't very nice! She seemed more like we were a burden on her than a guest.
Great place. Clean rooms that use space in the best ways possible. The shower had great water pressure and the beds were so comfortable! We even got our room upgraded. It really felt very futuristic to stay was a place we got to show off. Checking in was a bit difficult as the computer didn't recognize our reservation at first, but a staff member quickly helped us out. Checking out was a breeze though the staff member helping us check out bags into Yobot despite us not needing help imposed a forced tip.
The beds were super comfortable and the decor was amazing ! I live in New York and I felt like a tourist there . The lounge needs to stay open later . I wanted to enjoy it more .
Okay gym Clean, modern room No Restaraunt
Wonderfully supportive staff, friendly and helpful. Room was simple but hip and elegant, fresh and clean. And perfect location for my event at the Javits. I'll definitely book at the Cassa Times Square again in the future :)
The hotel is one of the best we've stayed in everything was clean nice and the bathroom was great along with the comfortable beds. Usually when we go to hotels I'm a little skeptical about the cleanliness of the room and bed and I cover the pillows with my own bedding but this place was awesome didn't have to do any of it. Would stay again and the noise level in time square wasn't bad at all. Paid 75 dollar deposit and the one refunded me 53.00 and couldn't really explain the charge.
The staff are awesome! It feels like a very contemporary and trendy hotel. From the "less is more" interior design, to the clean lines of the rooms, the high tech features in the bathroom, lighting fixtures, even the alarm clock is an iPad! How cool is that? All of these things add to what some might call a European look, or contemporary. I really felt at home there, being a professional photographer/graphic designer, it hit home with me on all kinds of levels. The location is great! just minutes from Times Square. We will be back! Are you ready for the negative? Ok, here it comes...the pens. The pens they use at the front desk just don't go with the rest of the decor. I think they either need something in brushed aluminum or mat black.
Spacious, modern rooms. Great location. Service was OK but not as professional as other hotels (e.g. housekeepers never said hello in the hallways, front doorman usually waved at us when we walked through the door, but rarely actually opened it for us. Was turned off by the front desk person telling us that they normally charge $150 (!!!) for early check-in. That's ridiculous. She waved it for us because her manager wasn't there, but I've never heard of such a thing before. The $75 deposit is also weird. It's understandable given the iPad in the room, but even that seems anachronistic these days. Who doesn't have a cell phone that provides the same functionality?
Great staff, very attentive
The rooms were spacious and very modern. the hotel was right by times square The hotel is not finished yet but when it is it will be even better
Luxurious amenities at a fraction of the cost of expensive hotels in Times Square, The Out NYC was a perfect stay for the single traveler. I stayed in their dormitory style rooms for no more than about $80 per night. Single, private rooms with a king bed were available for about $160 per night if you should need the privacy. The dormitory style rooms that are cheaper may very well be worth it for a solo traveler. I found it to be a nice way to make new friends while in the city and an inexpensive way to stay near Times Square at a very reasonable price. Of the many things I enjoyed about this hotel the Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were of my favorite amenities. Aside from that, the staff was overwhelmingly pleasant and made my stay a very personal experience. Big thanks to Terrance, Natalie, Steve, Roxy and Ro for their hospitality at this fantastic hotel. I will stay with them again upon return to NYC.
Location was excellent
Location Noisy in room heater.
Impossible to sleep depending where your located in the hotel. If your on the same side as the club good luck getting any sleep at all. I could here the music and the DJ better than I could hear our room TV. Had to keep AC and TV on in attempt to drown out the music.
Nothing The hotel was too expensive The room was very small It was dirty
I usually stay on the lower Eastside when I travel to New York for the restaurants and art galleries. I selected the out purely on the basis of economics and the desire to do something slightly different. Although there are no art galleries and only a handful of restaurants in this neighborhood it is walking distance to time square and the theater district. If shows are your game, this place is pretty awesome. However for 160 bucks a night with good sheets and a recently renovated modern bathroom I do not feel inconvenienced at all. You can easily take the blue line subway down to Chelsea or Greenwich Village and as long as the weather wasn't as terrible as it was during snowstorm Jonas during my stay you can easily walk east across to the Bowery once you have moved south a bit by train. There's a charming coffee and breakfast place right next-door to the hotel which was friendly and provided healthy food options. The staff at the hotel although not the most polished was extremely helpful during the storm. They were able to extend my stay since I was stranded with all flights canceled for 2 days without gouging me. I had a problem with my television remote which they expeditiously repaired and I appreciated the attentiveness and speed. The hotel restaurant was, meh, just fair, certainly not awesome as compared to most restaurants in New York, but they get points for being the only place open on the night of the storm. And again at bargain-basement prices for the room one as little right to complain.
Proximity to various NYC highlights is very nice. I understand parking in NYC is difficult, but a better alternative could be achieved.
A staff member member became rude with us in the hotub area. We were compted $50 in room service because of it. Other than that, the place was great!
The mini bar The maids
Good price and location AC unit was extremely loud, impossible to sleep well with it on, and it was humid hot summer in NYC. Major bummer. No towels in pool area had to call 3 times, there is barely any staff around ever. People seem to be here to crash for parties or work, not really a vacation hotel.
The outside seating area attached to our room and the internal attrium. Staff were very helpful. We booked a suite. Very small room with only a bar mounted above the credenza to hang clothes. I had to make a conference call the next down so went to a common seating area downstairs It was dirty with several chairs stained with spilled drinks. Very loud club which didn't close until 4:00am. Good for young folks less so if you are a little older.
Liked that 4 of us could have a room where we each had our own bed and tv and be fairly close to great destinations. The place is right beside a night club and the room we were given initially was right beside the club. You could feel and hear the music in the room all night. There was also an "emergency exit" door right outside our room that was used by service personnel. The door banged constantly with people coming and going. Seriously the bang was so loud it made us jump every single time - this was every 15 minutes or so the entire night. None of us slept (myself, my 63 year old mom and my 18 year old daughter). One of the Tv's didn't work at all and another had a bad picture - we asked for it to be looked at - never happened. No way to lock the door from the inside and no "do not disturb" sign. We complained about the room but of course they couldn't do anything other than move us for the 2nd night and offer free breakfast (which was actually brunch starting at 10 am which needs its own whole other review). Room was dirty - carpet, sheets...Then the second night we did have a quieter room. While we were getting ready for our show there was a knock on the door followed by a male employee walking right in - no waiting for us to let him in - just walked right in to fill soap in the shower??? What if we had been naked? So bad it was laughable. At least we all have a funny story to tell. A tv and 2 lights didn't work in this room either. Awful awful place. People were nice but didn't follow through on the service at all.
location and price room smelled like cigarette smoke
Location, price, cleanliness. Pool always closed, workout machines broke
The location was great. The staff was very friendly and the price can't be beat. The wifi was not free.
I love the location being blocks away from Times Square and even Central Park is within walking distance if you're up to it. The price is very reasonable for NYC and even though the hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant on site finding food is not a problem. I've stayed at Travel Inn before and will be back.
the location was great, 10 minutes to Times Square and easy walking to subway.and places to eat. Great swimming pool, which was needed because of the heat June/July
The fact that it is convienently located and has garage parking WiFi should be free. They should allow for pre-pays...This was a gift put on someone elses charge card and I had to pay for it myself.
Good loation, clean room
excellent location large TV Beds not comfortable. One light didn't work No safe. no hairdryer not a great value for price.
Great spacious room Amazing staff Cheap parking prices
Great hotel for the price. Great location, short walk to times square, two blocks from port authority were they have buses to all airports
Great location! Plug wouldn't be work in bathroom. Tub wouldn't drain while showering.
Love the price for the location and services! I have stayed here before and will again on my next visit to NYC!
Good value and a very clean room and facility
Staff were pleasant Confusion at registration desk both checking in and out.
Tempurpedic beds were nice Breakfast wasn't bad The price was great for the area The rooms are really tiny A couple of loud trains rolled right by the hotel at night No gym on site
Check in people and Breakfast Room Cleanness was terrible. Only one elevator for guest and employees
It is located within walking distance to Times Square, pretty good location. Staffs are friendly, and the room is clean which is the most important thing to me.
The staff was polite and helpful. That there were no vegetables on breakfast
Helping & caring staff. Excellent outside view from the room. Everything was excellent about the Best Western Convention Center.
Perfect location, walking distance from Port Authority, Times Square, Broadway theaters. Comfortable bed, perfect plumbing, friendly staff. Breakfast (which is included) was terrible. We've been staying at this hotel (originally Best Western) for 10 years, and breakfast was always pretty good. Sadly, under the new management, the food quality went down south to the point of unrecognizable. It should either be improved radically, or there should be no charge for it.
The staff is unfriendly, the rooms are very small and not clean, there is a lot of noise from the garage/body repair/ taxi service, next door. The location is in an area dangerous at night. The hotel has nothing to do with Best Western hotels chain, is just a very bad franchise. It's the worst hotel i have ever been. I would suggest to Best Western to cancel this franchise, otherwise they will ruin their image.
A minutes walk to Convention Center. That's it. In every aspects, inferior to the standard hotel. FedEx pick up service must be done by myself, for example. No coffee in daytime and night. No refregerator in room. Noisy at night due to 24 hour open taxi repair shop just in front of hotel.
I was expecting a much smaller room, so the size for the price I paid was excellent!
Customer service was excellent!
Hotel staff was extremely polite from check-in to check-out I accidentally took a peek behind the bed and lamp table, there were lots of whole foods there like pretzels and peanuts. Whoever cleaned the room did not do a great job.
The location was well within walking distance to the Javits Center Room really small with weird smell, room really small basic room. Checked in Saturday and checked out Monday. Only saw Housekeeping once on Sunday at 5 PM when knocked on door to give towels, and no wash clothes, and did not clean room.
Tiny room, but good enough for the price paid
Nothing at all. Void at all cost

proximity to times square & 8th Ave, lots to do and see We enjoyed everything, especially the free hot coffee
Staff is very friendly and willing to accomodate you in your stay. Hot water did not work for 2 nights and it was freezing that night. But staff, offered us a new room.
Not much to like, room falling apart and sketchy area do not recommend this horrible hotel. Dirty room, appliances falling apart and sketchy area! Bad experience!

Location and price. Walkable to Pennsylvania Station and Times Square. Street location is a bit seedy. The included breakfast was disappointing.I did not eat the powdered egg discs or mystery meat discs.Got by on the yogurt, cereal, muffins and juice. Bathroom could have been cleaner & room carpets definitely need replacing
Front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. N/A
Clean room that was very close to the convention center. Nice staff who were very good in helping us get around. The room is exceedingly small as is the hotel itself. Photos make it all look larger, but there are only 4-5 rooms per floor and the room was exceedingly cramped, especially for the money we paid. Bathroom was tiny, towels were small and there was no room to move around. If someone is sitting at the desk, you cannot get past them and the chair hits the bed.
It was convenient location in mid town and an outstanding value
The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Once I put my head down I slept like a baby NO
I felt it was not clean. And the fact that it did not offer breakfast was a disadvantage.
we had an event at the javits & it was 2 blocks away & an easy walk. the staff was very accommodating for holding our luggage during our pre-check-in & after we checked out so we wouldn't have to explore nyc all day with our luggage to carry. comfy bed, clean room & bathroom, the rooms are pretty small but that didn't bother us at all, but if you need space, it might be difficult. thank you!
It was close to the Javits Center, included wi-fi and broadcast television. There were vending machines in the building. With the heavy shade drawn, very little noise and light came into the room. The toilet clogged easily. There was a plunger nearby in the stair well, but I would have preferred a plunger in the bathroom. There is a "do not disturb" magnet (yes a magnet, not a sign hung from the door knob) that was either not in the room or was out of sight. The toilet paper hook (yes just a hook) made it easy for the roll to fly onto the floor, or into the shower. The spare roll was hidden in the dresser drawer on the other side of the hotel room. The television remote batteries were dead.
Nearby Time Square (15 minutes walk), Penn Station (5 minutes walk).Kindly and very helpfull personnel. Clean room with good facilities Very small room
Decent size room for NYC, and good value, free wireless is great. The room could have been cleaner, floors did not seem well cleaned.
location, friendly staff small roon even for space for luggage, room cleaning is not enough
Rooms are very, very small and dated, but very clean. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. The prices represent a decent value if you are only going to stay one night and not spend much time in the room. Convenient parking across the street. Lobby was very dated and a little dirty. The location is out of the way and there are really no amenities. It is probably a 2-star hotel, but it is clean.
Close to Times Square but far enough that you don't have to deal with the lights or noise. Early morning trash truck noise.
Not very clean No maid service On a very noisy corner On a very shabby block Very poor check-in process
Clean, good value for NYC
