I most of all liked the staff and the atmosphere all around. There wasn't any aspect that I found displeasing with my stay at Trump Sohi Tower.
l like service,l like my room,l like hotel very near to everywhere.a specially front desk people are very helpfull.;)) l had great time in this hotel l like everything in this hotel.only one thing l dont like some morning there was like upstairs rooms coustraction noise that make me not sleep well.
size of room and bathroom
Friendly, very welcoming and made me feel like home
Friendly staff My room was very used , paint scratched, furniture old. The room was super dirty. Very dusty. Spills in bath and entry floors not cleaned, etc. find another
Pleasantly surprised how helpful the staff was. I thought i was at a mandarin oriental leval of service. New building. Felt very safe. For the price the room is a bit small, although comfortable and well appointed. A few blocks down from main shopping.
The door guys were outstanding. They got a taxi in seconds. Had transportation at the door ready at a given time as I requested. The views from the upper floors are mouth opening and a mind bogle. Wonderful views of river, buildings and sunsets. The rooms are modern in decor, design and spotlessly clean. The Italian restraunt is not gourmet food. The service is very good. The food is disappointing ... very much so. Room service is unbelieveably good. The steak and veal chop were outstanding. Stay in the room and eat there.
Almost everything. From the comfort of the bed to the delicious hot tube. The room was clean and cosy. The restaurant was delicious and convenient for a rainy night. I asked for a body pillow to my wife and just got it hours later, after my third request. But I'm willing to consider this the result of some minor mistake.
Great staff nice rooms
Great location, clean, friendly staff. Concierge service was not all that great, loud guests late at night.
the service and the great atmosphre great rooms dormen were the best food in lobby pretty good too small room
The location is great. Thought the price was a little on the high side given the size of the room and amenities.
This hotel has been on my list of places to stay since it opened up so I was very excited to finally get here, albeit maybe 10 yrs later... The decor was beautiful and the staff were all excellent. This includes valet and maids that you pass in the halls. Unfortunately the state of our room was a little disappointing. We did check in early so it's possible they rushed to clean it. Our room was a roasting 78 degrees when we got there and the thermostat was clearly set to 80. The window barely opened so it did not provide much relief and switching over to AC only helped cool the room by the next morning. It was HOT and dry!!! Second disappointing thing was the used toilet paper still in the toilet. I also was challenged in my ability to flush it away, so I can see how it got left behind. Third thing was the random hair pins I kept finding throughout the room...
We spent a night in the city away from the kids for V day. The view was good. Great neighborhood. Lots of places to go to, great restaurants and shopping nearby.
Good location in the middle of SOHO near multiple businesses. Easily accessible via subway. Attractive interior with industrial accents. International guests and staff. Good food and drink in hotel bar and lounge. Room is well appointed including a bathrobe, various bathroom products, blow dryer, well stocked minibar fridge and snacks (costs extra). Solid wifi. The desk and chair in the room were uncomfortable. I spent the majority of my waking time in the room there on a business trip. That and there's no other space in the hotel to sit quietly. The downstairs lounge is not really a sit and linger sort of space. Plus at night the downstairs lounge and bar become a nightclub with DJ. Which is great for pleasure travelers, but is a pain for business traveling. Would stay again for fun, but not for business.
good room and great view and good vibe in bar area price of breakfast -just too expensive on top of an expensive room rate...
Room service was top notch! Every single staff member was extremely kind. The location is in the smack middle of everything wonderful and great. What is not to like in Soho? The one minus for us were the small bed, for 2 adults and a 5 year old. No king bed just queen if not a double. Overall, a great stay, we would request a rollaway in the definite future.
Every Associate we encountered was excellent; very warm, helpful and accommodating. Our 10th floor room was cozily decorated in darker tones and neutral accents. The furnishings were appealing, well built, and fitted to the room with adequate room to maneuver throughout. The bed was extremely comfortable and we left it each morning feeling rested and recharged. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in while traveling. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and was supplied as expected for this level of Accommodation. (I have managed hotels and know first hand that, even the appearance of clean, is impossible on white porcelain and ceramic tile. Exterior noise from inside the building went mostly unnoticed; city noise was acceptable without the a/c fan running but we set it to blow continuously and the city outside mostly faded away (A/C blew worked excellent). Amenities are as advertised; the lounge atmosphere and appearance brings to mind an image of a1920's / 30's sitting parlour - comfortable, elegant, and well suited for drinks, work, meeting a coworkers or friends. On the weekend we stayed, the lounge was fused with music of the runway, the city and SoHo. It was an excellent kickoff for our evening with friends. The location could not have been better for us; subway - entrance on same block; restaurants - all around; cabs - always; Minibar prices were beyond excessive (I wondered if I was staying in an Airport grab-n-go) Room services prices - also excessive - (see: Oatmeal) The Following Falls Under "...if that's all he can complain about...." (these were the only negatives I could remember; most likely because they were encountered repeatedly) : The drawer-pull's on the main chest of drawers were very difficult to get a hold of. If I had long nails, or carried traditional keys, I could have hooked these without a problem; alas, neither is the case. Although the stairs were our preferred method of "up and down"; we found it challenging to get from our floor (10th), to our friends floor (7th), via the elevator. The pass key security system didn't seem to allow exit onto a floor other than our own.
It's location was what I liked best. Room was slightly small for what you pay. Decor in rooms is not up to what you pay for. Staff are slight too laid back... But maybe that's just the "cool" vibe of Soho.
Front desk staff was great! Bathroom was spacious -- huge for NYC standards and the wall paper is beautiful! Bed was very comfortable!! Shower curtain smelled moldy. To be a dog friendly hotel, the dog bed provided was dirty, it stunk, had cigarette burns and ultimately, my dog refused to use it. The bell hops were very snobby and unfriendly.
Beautiful design, nice position, comfortable rooms, outstanding hall and cocktails The hotel staff seems helpful but not really interested to the customer
Bed was comfortable! Room was clean. Great location! Thanks for the complimentary bottle of champagne!
Housekeeping staff were very nice. I stay there because it's near my son. I would probably stay somewhere less expensive if it weren't around the corner from him. The breakfast are overpriced and the food not that great although the presentation is good.
The whole experience, the staff where very warm, welcoming and helpfull.
How peaceful it was
The Roxy is an indulgence in the best of ways. It's charming and comfortable. Well appointed and close to transit. The staff is friendly and attentive. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but it was delicious. We were sort of sad we went elsewhere for Sunday brunch... The spread is amazing. There are few negatives to the Roxy, honestly. Location is good, but not great- safety was not a concern. Just don't expect to walk out the door and be somewhere, you'll need to hop the train or a cab. The space is comfortable, but the pillows (like most hotels') were worthless.
Staff is really helpful and the hotel is beautiful. We loved the lobby bar at night and had an amazing brunch on Sunday Rooms are a little small
The room was very comfortable with light and modern decore (quite different than most NY hotels). It is a new hotel so the furniture and fixtures are still in good shape. The nearest subway station is around the corner and Soho is five minutes away by foot. Free Wi Fi internet service. The location is not as convenient as mid-town hotels for visiting the most popular museums, theatres and Central Park. Tribeca itself is not a very inspiring neighborhood. Most streets in the hotel's close vicinity contain warehouses and retail business, and therefore are not very attractive. The hotel's central space (where they serve breakfast) is dark and often cold.
Good location and good size hotel
staff is very friendly and attentive, big bathroom, big windows, good view hotel is quite dark, loud from the street
the check in and bellman were great--loved the champagne at ck in the furniture and rugs were tired--wouldn`t call this room delux
comfortable beds charging sales tax on the room rate---its outrageous
Everything their staff We need courtesy water bottles
The Ambiance was beautiful and the staff
Modern, extremely clean, chic, efficient use of space, great service, loved the late checkout.
Very clean, modern with good bed and linens. I appreciated having the charger and internet access. Well located for lower Manhattan and near public transportation. Friendly staff who truly try to be helpful. Unusually small, but perfectly adequate room. Good restaurant. No good place to hang bath towels to dry them so asked to have them changed each day. No magnifying mirror nor place to hang small personal laundry.
Like location and staff are so accommodating.
The hotel was very clean and quite stylish in a sort of modern-retro way. The minibar was the best I've seen in a moderately-priced hotel, and the room was quiet, comfortable, and elegant. The location is in a rather quiet corner of Manhattan, close to the core of SOHO, NOHO, etc., without being right in the middle of all the activity. When we first arrived we were told that our reservations were cancelled! The front desk staff were surprised to hear that I had not cancelled them, and calls had to be made before we were given a room. They apologized for the mistake, but the experience was alarming nevertheless. I recommend calling and confirming your reservation a day or two before arrival just to be sure you still have a room.
Very comfortable room. Roof bar & restaurant on the 1st floor. Great neighborhood for food and running along the Hudson. The slow elevator.
The king bed was great and the toiletries are tops. There is a gap of more than an inch between the door and the floor - which means I heard every conversation in the lobby / lift and every ding of the bell. I also had to put a towel against the door to block out the light and some of the noise.
Beautiful boutique hotel. The staff was excellent. Service was excellent. That is the most important to me. I will defintely return to this wonderful hotel and gladly recommend it to friends/colleagues/family! Believe it or not, in my room (56) the toilet paper holder is located in a very awkward location -- sort of gets in the way.
The staff, particularly concierge, were amazing. Not only were they efficient in making bookings for us but they suggested some fantastic restaurants for us to visit. The room was quite big for a NY hotel. The bed was fantastically comfortable and we loved the Kiehl's bathroom products. The location of the hotel was excellent - so convenient for site seeing and shopping. We also loved Kittichai - fantastic food. All in all, a fantastic stay. Thank you!!!
Great location in SoHo, cool modern decor and good sized room, friendly staff. Oh, and luxury soap. Lobby lacks charm and comfort - not the sort of place you want to hang out. Overly intrusive music.
Low key but helpful manner of staff. Location is excellent. Food & service at Kittichai Restarant excellent.
The location was excellent, close to Subway, great restaurants and shopping. Noise in room on 11th floor (119) coming from elevator (we think) was like someone using an industrial stapler in the early morning hours. Unfortunately I'm a light sleeper.
very clean. Staff is extremely hospitable. wonderful food. superb location fitness room is way too small
Great location. Great decor. The books everywhere gave it a cool and relaxing atmosphere. Loved housekeeping twice a day. Quiet. I really liked that they have no tub. Showers are so much cleaner and relaxing. No bar. No restaurant....yet. We should of been told of that when we booked.
We loved the location in Soho, lots of great restaurants and shopping nearby, and we found the room to be very comfortable. The subway was convenient, with rapid service to midtown. Although the bar scene was fun to watch until midnight or 1 AM, it got annoying when we did try to sleep. That was our only issue.
Shower Bed Large tv One of the dim able bedside lamps didn't dim
Location Not set up for the business traveller - no desk in room, poor electrical outlet access.
Excellent location, extremelly friendly and helpful staff, nice room, design details Due to the recent opening of the hotel the restaurant and other common areas were not available for guests. Small living/social area
This hotel has an excellent location and benefits from modern design. Due to a mistake by Booking . com my 16 yr old son had to sleep on the floor for our first two nights . No roll-away beds were available and none could be obtained . I specifically included that our party was a 3 and this information was not conveyed to the staff at The James so its was not their fault or responsibilty to correct. I was extremely disappointed by this fact. The hotel staff did provide a roll up bed when one became available but it shouldn't have come to this if Booking . com had provided all the information given by its guests to the administration staff at The James. I would advise any customer who is travelling as a party of 3 to contact the staff at The James directly to confirm that roll away beds are available
Friendly staff. Stylish. Perfect location for my needs. Would love to make this my destination hotel for my monthly trips, but only if the price were reasonable. Way over priced for the fact that it was not finished and booking.com did not make it clear that the hotel was not yet finished, which was misleading. Lift to ground floor not working so had to carry bags down 2 flights of stairs when door staff not around. No restaurant or room service - although refreshments were offered "free of charge" in the lobby, when this is instead of a full or half service hotel its slightly different - its not a perk, its a necessity!
The room, the staff, the restaurant, the green roof . The bar at the roof is a happening place and i had my young daughter!
It is a new design hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. Nice rooms ( not the small and ridiculous rooms we usually find in NY ) with graet light and huge windows. Best location impossible for whom going to have shopping and promenades. Really great.
Great interior and the employees were very sevice oriented
Second time staying here in 3 months. Love the location and quality. Able to check in early and check out late this trip, which really helped our itinerary (was rushing into town to go straight to my workshop, so it was nice to check in quickly and be able to put bags in room instead of leaving with concierge). Also was able to upgrade to a king bed since my boyfriend came down with me last minute. Staff was super accommodating. Close to 1/2/3 and C/E trains, as well as a couple blocks from 6/N/R/Q/W trains, so it was easy to get around to east or west side. I'm a light sleeper and find these rooms to be on the quieter side (we were facing the back of hotel, which faces downtown). No fridge in room. Definitely a business feel to hotel, but didn't really make a difference to me. In fact, I chose the Sheraton bc in NYC hotels can vary widely and I found that chain hotels give a good consistent experience no matter the location.
This hotel has an attitude of over pricing everything, adding on fees including tips (that frankly aren't deserved) and having a staff that doesn't do much. When I checked out the man at the desk was flat out lying to the woman he had on the phone and when he hung up I said "Well she's going to be disappointed" and he smiled and laughed. That's what you're going to get here.
Location is definitely a plus. Comfortable hotel overall
Very nice staff, clean hotel, type fancy and would recommend anyone to stay. Great area and very close to the train station.
Friendly staff Spacious bathroom Good location No turndown service Odd odor in the hallway, panels along floor were flaking, mid-renovation?
really quiet room did not get cleaned till 6
Very nice view. Very friendly environment. We asked for a late checkout and they were able to extend it up to 2pm. Thank you.
Front desk employees were awesome and so helpful! Very minor issues (light burning out) were addressed immediately. The restaurant attached to the hotel has no affiliation with Sheraton but we didn't like it- they were rude and took advantage of us.
Great location in soho. Staff was very helpful and parking easy. The room was clean and new. A great view with very clean sheets and duvet. A good mattress Bathroom was new and clean. Room was not big but neither was the price tag. Liked it much better than the soho grand that shows it's age
One of my best stay in New York (I work in nyc at least once a month).Awesome location (I adore Soho), the staff is super friendly and the rooms are awesome and nice size. The bathroom is huge and awesome. Please let me know when the Hampton Inn soho will be available again at the Booking.com.Regards, jlm.
Every morning about 05:30 it sounds like pipes are warming up-rattling and whinin pipes. This is my quiet time so it was distracting.
Perfect location for shopping in lower Manhattan. Nice, comfortable and clean rooms. Simple breakfast but it was there. More seating necessary. The staff could have been more friendly. However the concierge was really nice and helpful.
Location, spacious and clean rooms, and helpful staff It only has 2 elevators and must be shared with cleaning team.
I like the free breakfast and free internet, the Soho sights and the customer service.
I paid $150 for a single kind. Good sized room, clean hotel. Great location. Nice bar on the first floor. Nice view from the top floor. Skip the breakfast and eat out someplace else. Well priced and highly recommended if you don't want thrills and don't want a dump. I would classify as above average for the price in NYC. $30 parking looks like a scary location but they took care of my car.
The hotel is nicely renovated, good complementary breakfast and excellent free coffee/tea throughout the day. Rooms are average size for New York, which means small, but beds are comfortable and bathrooms are updated. GREAT location. From the hotel, we walked to World Trade Center, Greenwich Village, Williamsburg, etc.
very convenient location, good room size, free wireless connection, no noise. breakfast was served in a really small place, where everybody had almost to fight for a spot. No fresh juice.
This hotel is new. Wonderful staff very friendly and helpful! The hotel is on main rd to Holland tunnel. If you know that you have to park on w. Broadway it will save you time and aggrivation. The facility and staff over compensate for the trouble. 1 block from Soho Grand.
Good breakfast Staff a bit grumpy at checkin.
i like the breakfast getting up and not have to travel to a another place
Location and price Noise
the position of the hotel, and unlike many, an area to sit outside and perhaps have a coffee or read the papers.
The staff was amazing! They all deserve a raise! Location was great! The room was WAY too small and smelled of mold. The lobby bathroom was down in some disgusting basement and there was construction going on right next door.
Everything fine, great location & staff!! - No Minibar. Telephone rates too high for domestic US calls.
that staff was extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay very pleasent. Free wi-fi came in very useful too
I really loved the staff and location. I will stay here again
The front desk staff were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. It is rare that you can go to a hotel and find a entire front desk staff everyday and all shifts genuinely sincere in making every effort to make you have a wonderful stay. From the manager to the staff I cannot compliment the staff enough.
Bathroom was really good. Liked the complimentary water Location could have been a bit more central....There could be more division between the entrance & the outside seating
Very friendly and helpful staff. Location was fantastic. Value for money was not great - but probably in line with the cost of hotels in NYC.
Bed, linens, very clean overall. Very clean and well appointed room, though facing a shaft with absolutely no natural light. Great bed and linens, but otherwise nothing special, and our room was extremely noisy. Having traveled from Europe, what we wanted was a good night's sleep. However, our room suffered from some serious noise pollution. While we were able to turn off our air conditioning, there was no way to shut off noise coming in from other parts of the hotel. NB this was not noise coming from the street, but noice from inside the hotel, main airc onditioning unit or similar - all in all very odd. I was not able to sleep, so albeit the surroundings being neat and fine in general, this was one of the worst hotel stays ever. We did ask to change rooms during the night, once we realized that sleep would be minimal despite the tired state we were at. However, the hotel was full. All the staff could do was to give us extra points towards a preferred guest account.
Location was great, staff was friendly, room was quite comfortable. The accesses and the area of the vending machines and gym could be more appealing...
Very nice Hotel, nice staff, i would go there again ;) Good location. Would have been good to have a refrigerator in the room ;)
The location was really good, the bed was very confortable, excellent service, free starbucks coffee in the room and water.
The metro station direct in house.
Good location for shopping downtown & walking distance to Chinatown & Little Italy. Subway right there. Was on the fifth floor, very quiet. The doors to the rooms are very heavy, and difficult to open and close.
We like to stay in this hotel is clean and very friendly
My body was on west coast time and I tried to take a shower at 2am but there was no hot water. They also ding you an extra $5 for usable internet.
This is a newer hotel with friendly staff and large, clean rooms. The problem I encountered here were several odd features that made it very difficult to sleep; namely, 1- they dont have full curtains on the windows- only a thin gauze-like drape that allows all the lights from outside to stream into the windows all night. Unfortunately, I had several giant lights aimed almost directly into my 2nd floor room the entire night and I had to sleep with my back facing the window the whole night. And 2- their heater is a hot air fan that is practically as loud as a plane engine- even at the "low" setting. I was forced to turn off the heater and woke up freezing under the thin blankets. That said, the location is good, and it is attached to a decent pizza bar/restaurant and next to several subway lines. If I went here again, I'd bring an eye cover and extra blanket.
location was right on the subway line, cookies at night was nice, rooms where quite at night breakfast not included in price
easy to get everywhere
No help from doorman to flag taxis. Generally the hotel showed wear and rooms need refreshing.
Hotel is located near subway entrance, Soho, Chinatown. Everything is at the door step. Staff was very nice. I would for sure stay here again.
The price was right for this great hotel with big rooms for the city. The staff was great, the rooms were modern and large, coffee is always available in the lobby, and the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect. It is right next to a subway station and just blocks away from several cool spots. I would stay here again. I cannot say anything that I did not like.
Location near subway was extremely convenient. Rooms were spacious by New York standards; the bed was very high quality and firmness could be adjusted differently for the two sides. The hotel was located near many excellent restaurants encompassing a wide variety of cuisines and price ranges. Walls were a little thin, so one could hear everything going on in the hall outside and arguments in the next room.
Great location, friendly staff
