We stay here everytime we come to New Orleans. We love the location and the service has yet to disappoint. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
Lovely hotel, very pretty. Restaurant is great as well. Nothing
Clean, modern amenities. Comfortable beds. Lots of young adults stayed during the weekend and they were up and loud at all hours if the night. Hanging out in the hallways and keeping us up.
staff was great, decor was very nice, great bed and linens... the shower/tub combo wasn't bad, but it would be really nice if it were an upgraded glass door shower. not a complaint... but that's something i do look for in a hotel where i pay this much. thanks!
My friend and I were staying here for a conference (at a nearby hotel). It was a beautiful hotel very chic and stylish. It was well placed to walk to the French Quarter and many other points of interest. Staff was very kind, hospitable and helpful, especially Michael. We would definitely stay there again! No cold water from the tap in our room.
A very hip, cool vibe, in a great location and at an even better price point. The rooms were extremely loud at night, and the staff was not helpful in solving the problem.
Employees were generally happy and gladly answered any questions. Hotel is groovy and quaint, as are the rooms.
convience of location the TV stations, the bed, and the AC
The Staff was great very helpful
Old fashion style was cool Rooms smelt "old" and muggy, check-in was extremely late (4 PM) and apparently "ungarunteed" (some people waited 2 hours), parking was $42 a night (extremely unreasonabled to other hotels), no bell hop even though rooms were split between streets
don't like add on cost. Telephone ect.
Very stylish and confortable rooms. The menu at the kitchen tried to be a bit too artisinal. There was one waitress who seemed pretty bogged down.
Parking lot behind the hotel was very convenient. Comfortable rooms. Closet to everything but still off the major streets Staff wasn't knowledgable when asked what highlights a touris couple should see. Wasn't friendly during check in or check out
Convience to the downtown area and central location to restaurants and entertainment. Parking was very easy and convient. Coffee pot in room was not cleaned.
Good quality decor good location. Very rude staff on front desk.
the hotel was close to everything, and it was nice. the heater didnt work and theres 2 buildings and you had to go to the main building for everything.
The beds were Awesome! Very comfortable. Wet spot on the floor of the room. Bathtub a little dated.
The location was perfect for us. Not too much congestion, but close enough to walk to the French Quarter and other shops. I also like the decor of the hotel and the beds are very comfortable. No fault of the hotel, but at wee hours in the morning, our drunk neighbors were very very loud in the halls and in their rooms. More sound proofing would be greatly appreciated.
friendly, Luxe, design
Very classy and great location. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bed was super comfortable! Little expensive
I liked how clean and modern it was. It was very expensive for what we got. The only parking they had was valet and it was 47$ a night. After paying 415 for the room seems really steep. We were also really crunched for time Sunday am and had to wait about 20 minutes to get our car which was frustrating. When they tell you to call ten minutes ahead to have your car ready for you.
Contemporary look, friendly staff, comfort Lack of food options and different times of the day
decore style, great location- most things in walking distance, safe, good value. No exhaust fans in bathroom, pool is deceiving from pics, much smaller in person.
Nice interiors and free bottled water. They have good beds though, that was a plus. Very poor facilities, in this day and age, no free wifi is just not OK, its a dealbreaker. Its not like they are not charging enough for the room, plus wifi does not cost a lot anyways! And whats with the $45 valet per night? Do they wash your car and paint it?? We thought it was fleecing as they knew that parking is an issue around that neighborhood. Overall just OK place, not worth the effort to stay here.
Location was superb, room were clean, and staff were excellent. Pillows were a bit hard to make comfortable.
I was extremely disappointed in my stay at the W. I will never stay at another W again. It was not worth the 200 I paid per night.
This trip was my first time to the south, and the staff at Le Meridien were very polite and professional. Everywhere from the bell hop during the day, to the bartender at night, to the front desk reception. The in-room service was excellent, the food and wine hit the spot. The location was a bit farther from the convention center then I anticipated but it was nice to have a little stroll to and from the conference to the hotel. I really like the decor at Le Meridien. The pool and gym were fantastic! I did not like how expensive the in-room service fee is. I was charged $4 fee plus another $10 fee, both labeled as in-room service fee's to order dinner up to my room.
One of the best staff and facilites I have ever stayed at. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I was blown away by the service. If I had to pick something, I didn't like the pillows. Too hard, but that's just me.
The staff went out of their way to take care of us. The rooms are nice and well kept. Overall it was a wonderful stay.
Ran out of eggs and bacon during breckfast one day.
Location in French Quarter No bathroom exhaust fans. Very difficult to get in and out of a king sized bed crammed in such a small room. Breakfast was very cramped, unorganized, poor tasting food, and had rude staff. For the price, this hotel sucks. I don't plan on returning.
Coffee & breakfast was disappointing compared to other free breakfasts
The rooms and common areas are beautiful. The staff was very attentive. Great breakfast. You can't open the window. so the only ventilation is the heating/cooling system.
The morning breakfast is the best we have had in a hotel that features "free breakfast" our room had no window and one night we were inundated with cigarette smoke from unknown sources
Hotel was in walking distance to museums, French Quarter and other attractions. Courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. A large variety of items were available for breakfast. Rooms were clean and attractive.
Breakfast good, comfy beds Maid didn't leave shampoo, etc in our room , but in our othet parties room she did.
Location and staff were awesome. Lobby area very appealing and interesting. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Breakfast was crowded and could have used more staff to keep things clean and stocked . Noise from lobby echoes throughout entire building.
Like that it was walking distance from French quarter but far enough to stay out of the riff raft. Free breakfast left us wanting more.
Good proximity for walking or riding bus or trolley to most attractions. Friendly and courteous staff. Breakfast each morning saved us restaurant money. Room was small but adequate. King mattress was very comfortable. I asked to have the toilet seat tightened (upon arrival it was very loosely attached and sliding back and forth). It was not done. Bathroom floor always felt a bit sticky. No exhaust fan in bathroom (or not working?). Carpet looked and felt a bit worn.
It was perfectly located and thr workers were all very helpful and friendly.
Nice remodeled old hotel within the French quarter. Modern decor with spacious rooms. Close to streetcar stop on Canal. Early check in through kayak Employee at cash register in hotel breakfast restaurant was very rood. Carpets in hallways need replacing or at least cleaning. They were very dirty
Normally i do not do reviews however this hotel was exceptional. Great friendly helpful staff. Unpon arrival was given an upgraded room. Extremely convenient location to everything. Spacious room. Thank you for an enjoyable stay, will be back The bathroom was the only downfall. Could of had a larger vanity sink countertop area and a ceiling exhaust fan. Otherwise ideal room
Great location, clean and lovely
Could walk anywhere
Location High parking fees
Loved all the staff! We had a room with a great balcony and we really enjoyed the restaurants/lounge in the hotel. Honestly we were satisfied completely.
The customer service was amazing!
We stayed for 3 nights. We were able to walk out the door and be right in the French Quarter. We were traveling with a small child and everyone was very accommodating. they were able to put us in an area removed from most of the rooms, so we didn't have to worry about the baby disturbing other patrons. Restaurant on sight was perfect for a quick breakfast and facility was very clean. Rooms are good size and we had a great view of Canal St. Canal St. side of hotel is very noisy at night.
We were upgraded as Ambassador members, and the suite was lovely, and ever better than a certain other nearby favorite 5 star hotel in NO. Staff was welcoming and the bedding and bathroom superb. We also like the self parking in the adjacent Pan American parking garage--a NO bargain.
Beautiful hotel with extremely close beds and quiet area Not exactly in the French quarter but definitely close
Hotel was clean and close to everything. Across the street from Luke. Great Oysters 1/2 price Happy Hour 3-5
The hotel is newly renovated and totally updated and modern from its previously 80s styling. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it was nice before but amazing now. Try a balcony room and go down to one of the bars for a signature New Orleans cocktail. It's 2 blocks from Canal and 3 blocks from Famous Bourbon Street. It's also perfectly located for catching games and events at the super dome. Bout 3-5 blocks. Not a bad walk at all. It's where I stay when I go to watch the Saints
Very nice hotel Valet parking $45 a day
Intercontinental is supposed to be IHG's flagship hotel. During my stay I killed three spiders in the bed. The duvet cover was torn and tattered in multiple places. The carpets were not vacuumed. Someone else's dry-cleaning tags were left on the floor (2). The drinking glass in the bathroom had dried toothpaste stains from someone previously before me. For three days in a row I turned the same drinking glass up thinking that it would be washed and would return to my hotel room to find that it had just been flipped over, uncleaned. The best yet was the last night that I stayed the cleaning staff had left a dust in my room by the door. I guess since they werent cleaning they decided to leave the tools for me do their work. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned about the cleanliness and too busy to give it much thought. Valet also higher than any other hotel in area. Will go back to the Holiday Inn Chateau LeMoyne north of the quarter, always clean in 5+ stays there.
The location was great. The rooms were very nice and clean. The Staff was very helpful. The bartenders at the hotel bar were rude.
We really loved the room bed and service. The pool was small and dark no sunlight and it was a outside pool that had freezing water. The restaurant connected to the hotel was ok but some of the waitress were really rude and slow we saw 5 family leave during our wait for our drinks. Meanwhile when we got the menus we didn't see anything we wanted so we told the waitress we needed the check. She left and never came back! We had to track her down and talk to her manager to get a check !!!!
I loved everything about this hotel. Extremely close to everything and the staff was excellent
The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom and shower was great especially for New Orleans. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was not included with our room. When my wife called the front desk, they left her with the impression that breakfast was included. We were surprised that it was $27 per person. What a rip off!
Very nice room with comfortable beds. Great value as we stayed on a monday night...perfect location at christmas time to visit for the night...not much happening in the restaurant and lounge..parking a bit high but parked in pay lot next door which allowed us to park at other lots around downtown for the 24 hour period
Not much A/ c didn't work had to sweat all night an the price we paid was a rip off
The staff was excellent. Very friendly and accommodating.
no free parking
Room service food was not satisfactory, and would not recommend anyone order from there.
Great place to stay
People were very friendly and knew how to get someone around the city. Room was very nice. Our room was very hot. We had to get a fan and that didn't help much and I am cold natured. Vent in bathroom did not work and tv controller did not work.
good location, friendly staff! They could not locate our reservation even though we had an email confirmation. We had requested a king sized bed and received two doubles. Disappointing considering it was my 45th birthday.
Great value for a nice hotel. Very clean, nice lobby, good cafe downstairs and nice but small roof top pool. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very convenient to restaurants & bars and a 10 minute walk to the French Quarter.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean. The hotel is just outside of the french quarter so it's a bit quieter, but still within in walking distance. The window in our room looked out into the center of the hotel which was a bit odd.
Wonderful staff/customer service...good food in restaurant Nothing
The front desk staff was so nice! The night we were there - there was a fashion show in the attached art gallery. The vibe of the place is very cool and hip.
Clean lobby. Room came with only 2 towels even though we indicated that we would have four people in the room. We had to ask sever times for towels. When we arrived at the room, there was trash in the waste baskets from a previous guest. On the day of our departure, housekeeping rang the doorbell at 8 am to see if we were checking out. The concierge had very few suggestions for rainy day activities.
I loved the location - only a block from Harrah's/Poydras, nearby lots of great bars and restaurants. The hotel was really nice and I loved all of the artwork. The room was also very nice. The bellhop broke a $50 bottle of Baileys, so I had to walk about 10 blocks in the heat to purchase another bottle, then had to walk another 10 blocks to my car to get the receipt from the first bottle, then walk all the way back to the hotel. They reimbursed me for both bottles, but it would have been nice if they would have taken care of this in another way. A free meal at Legacy would have made up for their mistake.
Location. Great staff. The restaurant was very good. The decor was very appealing and pleasant. Internet was pricey and was subpar. A hotel like this should be offering complimentary high-speed internet for the price of the rooms.
Everyone was very helpful. The staff offered advice on local restaurants, places to run, and places to grab a drink. The artwork is beautiful, it's very clean and has worry free parking.
Friendly. Great Art. Clean. Bar closed at 11.
Bed was very comfortable. Amenity spaces were clean, large and designed well. Roof top pool!!!! Staff was rude. Having a rooftop pool in itself is amazing, but the area could use some modernization
Very clean property Small room, tiny bathroom, charged extra for everything!! (Gift shop was way overpriced in an area where no convenience store exist), they wanted $13 a day for wifi!!!
Rooms are not large, but they are cozy and the beds are quite comfortable. Complimentary coffee and fruit in the lobby each morning. There was no restaurant or room service available during our stay (they were "between kitchens").
The International House was centrally located to everything. The concierge was helpful upon arrival in giving information about what we were interested in visiting. The room was clean and we were even offered an upgrade.
The bar and the lobby where very nicely set up. They have happy hour and the drinks were great! The drive from the airport was about 20 mins, but the location is great. Almost everything is walking distance. Third time in Nola and this has been the worst. There was a strong deodorizer smell as soon as you opened the hotel doors. We tried to check in early but they didn't have any rooms available yet. They let us check in our bags so no big deal. The front desk said we would get a text once our room was ready. Never received a text. Called around 2pm and didn't get an answer. We were trying to be patient and went and grabbed a drink called back at 3:30pm (after normal check in time) and they said they didnt have anything available yet. I informed them we had to be somewhere at 5:30pm and were hoping to have access to our room. They put me on hold and finally were able to get us a room. Check in was pretty normal. Went up to our floor and the deodorizer smell was even worse on our floor. We got to our room and it was TINY. Can't even say small. Not bad if you're traveling alone but we literally kept bumping into each other. We will not be staying here again. There are too many other great hotels in the area for a better price.
Location, comfort and stylish are the words to describe our stay at the International house. The staff were extra helpful too.
Very nice hotel, very stylish, centrally located Elevator takes forever and gym is really small no vending machine
Great location just outside the French Quarter. Small rooms but still nice. Would like more if it had a restaurant.
From the front desk to valet to bartenders to bellhops, every staff member was delightful! It's an old building but has been updated and is very modern. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and shower is huge. I will stay there on future trips and I highly recommend to others! Limited number of wall plugs
It's close enough to the French Quarter without being at the French Quarter. The hotel decor is nice and on first glance, looks luxurious. The staff were mostly friendly. The bed was comfortable. The room (3rd floor) was loud due to outside street noises and the rather loud AC. Although the decor was nice, the bathroom had broken/damaged bathroom fixtures and dry wall. The tub also drained very slowly.
Loved the bar and atmosphere of the hotel Parking was a mess, waited in lobby for 20 minutes then was told to walk down two and half blocks with bags and then was told to wait at a corner for my car to arrive. 20 minutes later the car came
The staff was great
I love the distinguished vibe of the hotel. It is unique and inspired with a subtle romantic touch. It is conveniently located near the French quarter (we walked everywhere with no problem) and the staff is gracious if you need directions or transport arranged. There was an art display in the lobby, live music in the bar, and picturesque ambiance everywhere. We opted for a room with a window but almost accidentally booked one without so do be cautious if you have strong feelings about such things. Perfect for a trip with a loved one.
Beautiful lobby and bar. Guests were a mix of music industry types, couples but didn't look like tacky tourists found at many mid level chain hotels Room only had double beds; some Light food and dessert offerings in the lobby would have been nice
restaurant room cleanliness nothing
LOCATION Asked for wash rags twice. Even went down to front deak in person. Never got them.
Loved this hotel! Wish we would've booked all 4 nights here! The only reason we stayed here Saturday night was because the Sheraton on Bourbon didn't have a room available. We had booked the Sheraton sun through weds and then decided we were going to New Orleans Saturday also. Needless to say, will stay here anytime I go to New Orleans! AWESOME hotel! Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was huge! And this hotel is well within walking distance of the French Quarter! Staff is very friendly!
Delay in getting towels when calling Response time was greater than 30 minutes
Good location. Close enough to walk to the French Quarter but far enough away to get out of the craziness and noise. Right on St. Charles streetcar line- very convenient. Very large room and bathroom. Very clean. Great bed. Good towels. Would definitely stay here again! Expensive but then it is New Orleans! Price was pretty much on par with other hotels of the same type. Huge bathroom but almost nowhere to hang towels. Another towel rack or a few more hooks would have been nice and there was plenty of room for them.
It was close to every event I was attending that weekend. The staff was very friendly. Check-in and out was also great no long waits.
Location, beds were very comfortable, clean rooms Had no hot water in the shower and the staff was not very helpful to remedy the issue. Hallways were very noisy and it seemed like a door was always slamming. Parking was expensive (40/night)
The staff was great at the doubletree. We arrived about 12:15pm and check in was at 3pm, but they accomadated us right away! The bell men and valet staff were wonderful with helping the bags and calling cabs right away. The Wow cafe served great food and the customer service there was wondeful as well.Rooms were clean and comfortable.Overall if you want great customer service I recommend this hotel! When I visit New Orleans again I will definetly be staying at this hotel.
Good Location, nice room and comfortable bed. Friendly staff. I'd stay there again!
Location was convenient, it is walking distance to the French quarter. Staff was friendly, room was clean. Parking is pricey. It is across the street and it is $25 for 24hrs. Beds were really small. Bathroom was also small.
The room was spacious (we chose space over views) and the beds were comfortable. Very clean and the maid service was excellent - my colleague's wallet fell out of her bag inside the room as we rushed out to dinner and the maid put it on the center of the bed so we could see it immediately when we got back. The room was quiet (on the top floor) and the location is an easy walk to the French Quarter. Tried to order room service and couldn't get through to either the number in the menu or the number on the phone (which were different). After half an hour, called the front desk and told them the issue; they said they would call the restaurant manager and have her call my room directly. That took another half an hour and then the order I got was wrong. Didn't have time to call and correct it, so I paid $35 for the wrong breakfast and went outside the hotel the rest of the trip. Should have realized when there wasn't a pre-order form to place on the door that ordering breakfast in might not be a regular routine? When checking out, I asked for a copy of the bill showing the total paid with a zero remaining balance, which I need for travel reimbursements at work. Was told I would need to get that through the booking service (I used Kayak, which I find dependable). I was able to convince the person checking me out that I needed a hotel bill that showed I do not owe any balance, but this shouldn't require so much time and explanation - don't people stay here frequently enough for business that staff understand the standard documentation process? As a frequent traveler, I haven't had this issue anywhere else with a rating above 3 stars.
Close to French Quarter. Very expensive for the quality of the room, our windows were facing a wall, the room was located on the third floor. The front desk had poor customer service.
The hotel was beautiful with very friendly staff! Great location! We were right on the edge of Bourbon St. and Canal St., but also close to the Superdome where we attended the US Women's' soccer game! We were able to check in an hour early and when we were leaving the doormen called for us a cab. Very nice experience and would stay again in the future! Definitely take a cab to/from hotel! It was a $36 flat rate and well worth it because they pick you up and drop you off exactly where you need.
the rooms were very modern and very clean... We had problems with the ice maker but the staff helped us out.. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. I enjoyed the room the location and the stay.
Room and location The wait staff was slow and unprofessional but the rooms are so nice the 15 minute wait for valet is worth it
Good location and the Hotel was clean. Upon check into the room, we did not have all the amenities in the room as per the booking it was to be double room with a sofa bed. There was no sofa bed. Also the toilet did not operate at all in the room. Also I was charged for 4 days valet parking when we only stayed 2 days.
Room was comfy, location great not in the Quarter, but not too far. Staff was awesome. We'd definitely stay there again.
I really liked the location, I felt safe throughout my whole time spent here and the service at the front counter was superb! I plan to stay here again! I do not have one bad thing to say about my experiece!
Well located Very small room. They day that was the one because i booked via a 3rd party (kayak)
I like the room and the shower. The bed was very comfortable. The doors need some DW40. They made some noise.
Only complaint was that room was not cleaned on two occasions
Location. Good size room and a comfy bed. Bathroom was spacious, burcouldvr benefitted from more counter space and a soap holder in the shower. They did not follow their own green towel policy and I was given fresh, new towels each day despite having hung mine and not left them on the floor. Lame 'pool'.
Annie at the front desk was so helpful and nice, She went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and even gave us an umbrella on a wet afternoon. The infused water in the lobby is great! Some people might think the location is depending on what you want to go see but I liked it because we were in the middle of canal st and harrahs casino.
Location Clean Staff
Excellent location, can walk to the quarter and streetcars in minutes, can take longer walk to garden district, tons of high quality restaurants nearby. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Make sure you bring drinks for if you get thirsty while in the room. They put out a nice fruit infused water pitcher during the day, but overnight there's no water to be found, just ice machines on alternating floors and a $6 bottle of acqua panna in the room.
The staff at the hotel were incredible. The only problem was that I requested a standard room and was given the option to request a standard double bed room. It was not ideal but the hotel staff made up for it. Just make sure if you book through a 3rd party vendor to make sure what you are getting Don't go through a 3rd party
Overall this hotel was fantastic. The staff was as friendly and helpful as you could ask for. My husband and I were traveling with four children (ages 8,7,6, and 2) and the value was amazing. I never review anything online but the experience was so good I felt it necessary this time. The fact that there were drinks and popcorn in the lobby the entire time was awesome especially with kids. Breakfast was awesome and offered SO much more than normal hotels do. Plus the "kickback" at 5:30 was our dinner each night. I know for some it might not be their ideal dinner if they are on vacation but traveling with the kids we didn't want to have to go out and the "kickback" offered enough options for everyone to have a full meal. We don't really drink but if you add breakfast, dinner, popcorn as a snack, unlimited soft drinks, and the 3 free "alcoholic beverages" up the value was amazing. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. The rooms were clean and comfortable also. Just a great stay all around. The only complaint I had was that we had pre-paid for the room and when we got there they asked for the card we had used to book the room so they could swipe it. Then when we were checking out I went to check out and pay for the valet ($25 a day and the only option so budget for that as well) and they said it had already been charged to my card. I had no intention of paying for the valet on that card so it bothered me that they charged it and hadn't told us that they were doing it. I do believe that it was a simple misunderstanding though and not dishonest or anything.
Perfect! We moved here from another hotel down re street that was proved double and we couldn't be happier. This place is so nice, breakfast and dinner, great location, rooms and staff! Will definitely stay again.
Location Free drinks and food This was perfect for a quick night away. Location was good and staff was friendly. Paying for parking Bar closed early
The staff was great and all and all the property was beautiful. Our room 221 was dark and dingy feeling. No windows and the only curtain on the door wasn't operable.
We were super close to Bourbon St but never heard it- which was great! We had an interior room with no windows which I was a little apprehensive about booking at first but it proved to be the best idea ever! After getting in to town early in the morning and wandering around a lot, it was great to ha e a quiet, dark room for an afternoon nap. New Orleans is always busy and there are always people out on the streets at all hours- I highly recommend the windowless rooms for peace and quiet when it's time to get away:)
The hotel is right at the base of the French Quarter. If you plan to stay in the Quarter, this is a great option. Noise and parking. During a busy time, self park will be almost impossible. We valeted in order to avoid searching for a space.
Staff and accommodations Nothing
I wanted an authentic New Orleans French market experience and that's exactly what I got at the French market inn. Everything was perfect. It was historical, right across the street from the Riverwalk, two blocks down from Bourbon Street, Clean, safe, right across the street from Cafe Du Monde. We decided that we would stay here every time we came to New Orleans. It was nothing that I didn't like. I'm used to stay and four star hotels so I had to adjust to the boutique feel of the room, but I bet it was comfortable and the atmosphere was authentic and great.
Close proximity to must see locations, restaurants and activities; staff was friendly & accomodating
The location was absolutely perfect: within a few short blocks to all the fun. But the location also provided much needed quiet at night. The facilities were clean and absolutely beautiful. I will absolutely stay here again and will tell everyone about this gem!
For the price, the inn provides access to the French Quarter, into which I went for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and nightlife. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable about the area, and eager to help. The room and inn have that French Quarter feel (e.g., courtyard, exposed brick, tall windows). The room was comfortable except for one point. The shower was glass, not a curtain, and was nice for such an inexpensive room. My friends who stayed at the same conference were jealous that I was staying in classier accommodations than they for the same or less! My room on the first floor had no weather strip on the bottom of the door and suffered a draft. Once plugged with a spare blanket, however, the room was cozy. Also, the electrical cords for the television were rather lazily slung over the TV itself. It looked shabby.
Location Had to pay for parking. No complementary toothpaste or bottled water.
Great location and next to everything. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful
The hotel was amazing. I went through Kayak and found this hotel with great reviews and $100 under our budget! When we walked in, the lobby was cute, perfectly decorated, and had the New Orleans feel we were looking for *cough*we're tourist*cough*. We were greeted by Lonny the bellman, who wouldn't let us lift a finger with our bags. He even gave us some free wine vouchers for a near by café. Check in was standard with no wait time and a friendly front desk staff. There is a small pool and patio area if you wanted to take a quick dip (by small pool, it is incredibly small, but still nice to have as an option). This hotel is cute, clean, and has the New Orleans experience with just a quick walk to Bourbon St, Café Du Monde, amazing shops in the French Quarter. Since we were driving from across country, we had an entire SUV packed with professional camera equipment, expensive camping gear, and pretty healthy supply of clothes etc. We were concerned about street parking and were told that if we valet our car with the hotel, it would be in a garage, 24 hour surveillance, and returned to us in the exact same condition we left it in. We thought "it's only $15 more than parking across the street, and we will have piece of mind" so we went with the valet. We remove our luggage for the night, brought in the camera gear (thank god) and carried on with our New Orleans experience as they drove our car off to the garage. Being a typical girl, I realized I left something in the car and asked the front desk if I could either walk to the car or have it brought around. She gave me quick directions and I headed to the parking garage. When I approached the booth in the garage, the gentlemen working pointed to the pay lot across the street, and handed me the keys. I was confused because it was just a $20 over night pay lot that we could have easily used instead of paying $15 more for the "garage" we were told our car would be in. I grabbed my items, double checked all the doors were locked, and took the keys back to the employees in the booth. When I got back to the hotel, I told my boyfriend about the differences in what we were told we were getting and what we actually got as far as parking went. We both agreed that there must be some reason for it and that the garage was full or they would move the car at some point. 8AM: Our hotel phone rings. The supervisor of the parking garage was calling to let us know he was ready to take our car to the shop to have the windows replaced. You can imagine our confusion, seeing as we had gone to bed late and had partaken in what New Orleans had to offer, IE we were hung over and had no idea what was going on. We get dressed and head down to meet with the garage supervisor who informed us that between 3-5am the driver's and passenger side windows had been broken and it looked like items were removed from the car. We head over and look over everything. Sure enough, it was in the same spot it had been the night before, sans two windows. It only looked like some center console change and our GPS had been taken(which was in a locked glove box). The parking garage paid for everything to be replaced that had been taken, and replaced the windows. Our plan was to leave at 12pm after some beignets from Café Du Monde, but ended up having to stay until 6pm waiting for the car to be fixed. Of course our room and valet charges were comped, and the staff acted accordingly, it was just an unfortunate situation that could have been avoided if the front desk had the real information regarding where their guests' vehicles were actually parked. Take what you will from this. Be it, sh*t happens and you move on, or it was a nice stay, something bad happened, and the hotel did the best they could.
