I wish all hotels were like Claridge's. The facility is lovely, the rooms are fabulous, and the staff are extremely helpful. Their response to a special request was 'no problem' which simpliflied my trip a great deal. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Appreciated hospitality of hotel staff except one Japanese staff at reception desk. If you are trying to improve the level of service provided to the Japanese clients, you'd better to leave the operation only to your excellent English staff. Due to double booking, we faced to transfer to the other rooms during our stay. We have not received an official apology from the manager nor any kind of compensation, In spite of this big problem, the attitude of Japanese staff was always very gruff and unkind. I regret to say that her attitude destroyed our good reputation of your hotel.
it was mentions that fair inclced berkfast and when i arrived they said its not
Efficient, friendly staff. Spacious accommodation Bar drink prices expensive
We liked everything about Claridge's except the price though still consider it to be good value for money.
Very nice room. Excelent location in Mayfair. Best for shopping.
Everything in this hotel was perfect: excellent service and very friendly personnel. We had a beautiful big room on the 7th floor with view over London.
Everything was very efficient and seamless
The attention to detail and the ability of the staff to be both unfailingly courteous and retain friendly good humour
attention to detail- complimentary champagne as we only married a week before
Confortable room and use of pool Didn't like the fact that even if you touched the fridge slightly you were charged for apparently drinking and eating the contents - had nothing to pay on credit card but still had to join a long queue whilst checking out as the bill put under my door was for £45 for drinks Id apparently had, so had to go to reception to get the bill sorted! It's a stupid process - you should only charge if drinks/food is consumed not if you open a door to a fridge- Ive never come across this before. When we were lining up at reception we were approached by a customer services representative of the hotel who asked whether we had any complaints. When I said yes, he immediately said to us would your complaint be about the fridge!!!!
The location of the hotel is great. It is close to two underground stations (Marble Arch and Edgware Road). However, i think that the rate of the hotel is quite expensive.
Comfortable and well located hotel Very expensive, and the rate noted on Booking.com did not include vat, which is generally unusual (but not for London, so beware).
near to the arabic shop very high rate
location high price
The location was very good. Staff were also very helpful and friendly. The room was of an excellent standard. It was extremely disappointing to come back from out night out to find the bar closed (1:00 am). This is supposed to be a quality hotel - we have stayed at far lesser hotels where these facilities are available!
We arrived earlier and didnt have any problem check in; the staff was lovely and very attentive. The bedroom was supper confortable and very clean( and I'm very fussy). When we asked what time the bar & restaurant close; the answer was "till the last customer"; just what you like to hear when spending a weekend in london. The instructions to get there are terrible, dont take the tube because the hotel its not located on the main street. Get a taxi; much easier.Very easy to walk to Oxford street and tube stations. The concierge service was great sorting out tickets for the Lion King saturday night show.We have our 10 y old boy with us and he loved all ; taxi at the hotel door at any time. The food was also great( I'm a chef). Will be back for sure
The location is good for leisure. The service isnt very good and the rooms are a bit too dark. And the passage to the rooms smells and looks like a hospital.
Everything (room, restaurant, bar, etc) was very clean. Staff was friendly and efficient Breakfast was excellent. with plenty of items to choose from Local market and restaurant scene was dominated by middle eastern cuisine which does not agree with my palate.
Club room ,Location and the staff was wonderfull,, Nothing really ..
I was due to meet my mother at the hotel, she arrived 30 minutes before me and was made to pay the full amount for the stay, even though she repeatedly informed them I was paying and they had my card details. After locating my room i was in a state of shock as to its cramped size and airless atmosphere (5* with 5* prices!). i then went back down to reception to find out the location of the pool and gym also to request a hotel information booklet and directory and a room service menu, (This never materialised durinng our stay. I was informed that the pool/spa/gym was not open yet as the hotel was still being built. Also the main restaurant was not open yet but we could eat in the bar if we wanted.
Excellent, friendly ervice Nothing major
Situated in the middle of London, yet absolutely quiet. Excellent service and facilities. Just a small detail: We didn't get the TV in our bathroom to work.
The proximity to Oxford Street and the West End The room and bed where surprisingly small for 2 grown ups with luggage. We didnt really have any space for our luggage or what we shopped. Needed to place shoes in bathroom.
Althoug the room size was a bit small, it has modern accommodation, functional, clean and the hotel is very well located, close to the Marble Arch. The bathroom is high standard with TV set, large bath tube and other minor things. The room location in the basement for long stay is a bit depressing. I was not expecting this when booked a "superior double room." Moreover, as a Brazilian visitor, I suggest that the available Brazilian TV channel should be changed for a better standard because the one available was a network of an evangelical church of low ratings and deplorable programming. It could be replaced for a GloboNews, BandNews or, at worst, a Globo TV broadcast.
The room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The front of house staff seemed disorganised, we checked in at 10am and left bags, got a call at 12.30pm asking when we would be arriving and had to explain had checked in and paid!!! Were advised that bags would then be in room when we returned, however, when we did get back only one of two bags was there. After calling reception eventually went down to find bag was still in the lobby not even locked away. Bar was not open due to staff being late and would have expected this to have been open all day for a 5 star hotel. Alll in all the front of house staff, with the exception of the doorman who was excellent, were definately not up to the standard of a 5 star property
Well kept and nice environment Hopeless service of refreshments in lounge, no service of wifi and utter neglect when this was brought to the attention of staff
Interior design, modern, location My double room was a bit tight
The location was fantastic for shopping with Selfridges at the bottom of the road.Breakfast was just what I needed, chef does only cook eggs but very well Room on 3rd floor which was alot of stairs, very small hotel photos deciving. Shower was blocked when we arrived but staff fixed that within 30mins,breakfast room very small and only seats 14 in a 18 roomed hotel with minimum of 36 residents. No where to have a drink in the eveningwhen we got back from thearte at 10.30pm.Apart from being very small it was a bed for the night
Nice position No tea/coffe facilities. Needs a general clean and brush up. Curtains ripped.
Room size was ok. Totally overpriced. Extremely poor service. There was no air condition, it was boiling hot in the room and in order to open the window you had to climb across the bed and lift two extremly heavy window frames and fix them with pillows from the bed. given the rates of about 120GBP it was an extremely disappointing experience. I experienced the whole downside of internet booking: You pay the entire price upfront and then you are stuck for four nights albeit desperate to leave after the first night.
Conveinient location, clean and tidy room, facilities were good but would have liked coffee facilities in room Other than the coffee nothing
just location very noisy hotel, paper walls.. dirty..
The location was very central. The photographs on the website give a poor indication of the actual reality of this hotel. It was not clean, the bathroom did not look as though it had been cleaned at all, there was still toothpaste in the sink from the previous users of the room. The bed was clean though, that was something at least.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much effort. a tall fan had been provided in the room. Good breakfast selection and chef was very helpful. Good tv and channel selection. The hotel was poorly maintained, eg. curtain was hanging off the window, the net curtain was black with dirt, cracks in the bathroom ceiling, stains on the carpet. No airconditioning which meant the room was very hot, even with the fan on full speed. It was too noisy to have the window open, so just had to melt. Rip off price of £5 (five pounds) for one cup of tea.
Much more impressive than we expected at the price for such a good location in London.
Location, and the feeling of being home away from home as we have been staying at Thistle Marble Arch once a year for the past four years.
Location Waited a long long time to get an elevator, we tried to use the stairs but it was alarmed at level 1. Why?
Convenient to the West End and very helpful staff. Very close to easy transport links.
Very central location. Close to tube station and Oxford street. Less than 10 pounds for cab to Paddington station. Room recently renovated. Nespresso in the room. Lots of storage (drawers, closet space). Very professional staff. Free printing so we could checkin for our departure flight. Comfortable bed and pillows. Renovations still ongoing. Construction was happening in the room next to us during the day on a weekday. No construction on weekends and it started at a reasonable hour on weekdays. Few amenities in hotel, but we weren't looking to use them. My wife didn't sleep as well as she needs a contour pillow and one wasn't available.
It was near Oxford street Very old furniture small size bathrooms no complimentary accessories
Location. Friendliness of staff. Concierage service. Ceiling low. Breakfast a bit expensive.
Please write at least 15 words Most of all I liked the location and the size of the room I did not like the entrance,a lot of walking to the room and too crowded
The queue when checking in was the biggest ever experienced at a hotel! Also the price charged for phonecalls is very expensive!
Comfort. Location. Hotel of this standard and at the rate we paid per night, very strange that there was a charge for internet??? Did not receive the newspaper a single day, although promised by Reception.
staff is generally young or new (which is fine with me) but lacks some experience.
Not enough choices of restaurents for a 5 star hotel
great Christmas decorations...but too many of them. rooms are dated...particularly bathrooms.
Check in & check out is very slow. Many staff seem to be trainees. Check in is poor for a high class hotel.
Great location!!!! With excellent staff, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had a lovely aperitif in the terrace overlooking the park ( I guess the only one on Park Lane) followed by a fabulous dinner in bord’ eaux restaurant, the meal served was really outstanding. My husband and I were delighted and overwhelmed with the hotel staff. We recommend to everyone
The location, the club lounge and the bed The room is very small for an executive room.
The renovation work is fantastic and reminds me of true english culture.
The room was particularly nice, very comfortable and homely.
walkin in the hyde park the receptionst telling me I had no booking. iI gave her my name twice.
Cleanliness Dvd equipment in room innoperable asked to be rectified staff could not repair.
Fantastic Hotel Experience! The room, lighting and British-ish decor of the room was just what we were looking for. Everyone in the hotel was friendly, the room luxurious and yet affordable compared to other 5 star hotels nearby (our stay was half the price of other 5 star hotels closer to Buckingham palace and with a kind bed). Centrally located, the Langham was only a 10 minute walk from public transportation and minutes away from a Starbucks. If traveling with an infant, you have access to a refrigerator and can request a crib. LOVED the club room w/ complementary breakfast (6:30-11am) and tea time (2-4pm) was a great treat! Access to two restaurants, a bar and cub room provided many food options. Morning and evening room service was very luxurious. Definitely coming back and recommending. Front entrance does not have a ramp BUT there is a side elevator (important if you have a stroller). The bed we had seemed old as there was a BIG dent from where most guests must've slept (to be fair, most hotels are this way). I know this hotel had a pool, but for some reason I didn't see a sign for it, or perhaps we never noticed it.
pool tiny rooms even with upgrade weird hotel layout
Nice staff, vibrant bar Noise as I wa allocated close to club lounge, another privacy door should be installed;
The Langham is an old fashioned 5 Star Hotel. In other words it deserves every one of the stars. Maybe it costs a bit more, but nothing is too much trouble and the staff are that great blend of friendliness and efficiency with not a hint of snobbery, which of course is a true sign of class. A great location and a real feel of opulence.
Everything. Its the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.
Everything about this Hotel is exceptional. The service and quality is always beyond any reproach. The location is also perfect. The price is high but you get much more than you pay for.
the whole thing hotel was lovely the rooms staff the decor everything was nice choice of food and drink was great cocktails were amazing we wil def be looking to stay again in near future. was our friends birhday and they went out of there way and made occassion special cant wait to visit again
The hotel is located close to restaurants, shops and is a short walking distance from excellent theatres. The hotel staff and facilities lived up to a five star experience you expect from the Langham reputation.
I loved the kingsize bed
Of course as always staff courtesy and the overall service is the main reason for us to stay at this hotel, despite the unpleasant experiences we had this "time only" with some of the reception staff upon our arrival which I will mention in the other Box. We are a regular customers and we know the level of services of this hotel however, we were totally shocked by the low service offered by your Supervisor at reception area Mr Sabestaian which was way below expectation. If he continues there he will certainly cause more damages to hotel reputation, Hotel mgt should consider giving him more lessons on customer service. Ms Suzana was of the same Category!. The rest of staff at the reception and other places were absoloutely all stars.
Staff was fantastic. My room was great, especially considering the rate, although wouldn't have been worth the "full" price....
The location and the high standard
Only neer from Oxford street Very small rooms - Receiving the guest very bad
The location, comfortable beds, nice ensuite shower. Room 22 was good, a friend was on the third floor and there it was quite hot. The breakfast, but I didn´t mind just went out and bought my own.
Friendly staff, breakfast basket is a really good alternative for a buffet breakfast. Noise from the hall, including front door buzzer, was clearly heard to the room. However, virtually no sounds from other rooms could be heard.
Location is excellence !! The bathroom is too small.
the hotel is near to the centre of London The staff
Location is excellent for shopping. Cleanliness of room, comfortable bed. Small rooms but cosy. Clean towels every day. Internet not free as advertised, only a few unsecured sites. But still cheaper than many I have stayed in. Internet not working most of the time. My room had problems with little hot water and water pressure. I was given another room for the remaining of my stay. Excellent water there.
near the tube
too much noise from others rooms.....
Room was lovely but bathroom crazily small
The room was unacceptable small and had it not been because of the special rate I would never have moved to another hotel. Also the room was extremely hot about 30C and impossible to get a proper nights rest
I was booked into a single room which met my needs but the room heating did not work - the staff were very quick to move me to another room - excellent service and greatly appreciated after a long day and late flight.
i liked the staff and their hospitality .The location was graet to those who want to shop from oxford street . the rooms are small and the the have only one left and it is too slow
I liked the beds very comfortable and the layout of room was lovely
location is wonderful. staff is extremely helpful and the service they provide is truly excellent. the room was rennovated and comfortable.
Great location, just a few steps away from Oxford Street and Marble Arch station. Reception staff always ready to help. Will be back
the quality of the Hotel in service, comfortable, and security.
I know the hotel well and stay there in business. I like to location, size and hospitality No
Great location, newly renovated, nice design, clean and confortable some rooms are very small, breakfast room can be overcrowded, only one elevator that takes too much time, depending on the days of the week, some room prices may be very high
Location of the hotel. The Lobby is to small and there no enough seats available. I arrived early morning at 8:00 while we got the room at 11:00.
outstanding service & food, wonderful swimming pool.best shopping location. you must pay quite a bit extra for a view (£100)
freindly and helpful staff
it is in the centre of London, very covenint to get any where you like to go Yes the room was not ready on my arrival ,I had to waite for at least 2 hours
The room is spacious considering that it's central London. Beds are very comfortable and the staffs are helpful. The location is excellent. I could Easily access to anywhere. The price is too high.
i like every thank at the hotel .it was comfort location very good ,and clean.
The room was spacious and very comfortable. We also thought the pool are was great. Be warned that any extras such as room service are not only a premium but they also add 12.5% service charge to quoted rates. I didn't realise this so I'd been tipping as well, so ended up paying nearly 25% gratuity!
the location is good
Have stayed here several times always pleased with standards and service.
The spacious room and cleanless ,staff great , We had a drink in the bar quite shocked as there was 2 prostituts in the bar ,one who was obvious as to what she was doing ,it did not bother us but all the same quite shocking .this did not affect our stay the hotel is fantastic .
people staff the design of the room, poor, sad and not in good condition.
The location was what drew us to this hotel, it is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, theatres and sightseeing. We encountered some problems with a miscommunication over the booking when checking in, the staff who helped sort this out (to our satisfaction) did so in a very cheerful, friendly and professional manner.
It was conveniently located for shopping and other things that would be wanted in the centre of London. The rooms appeared tired looking and too small.
Excellent location for West End Shopping Downside was that booking did not include breakfast in the price but was available to purchase separately, however, felt breakfast was quite expensive compared with local cafes/etc
good location, good breakfast not very accommodating in terms of early check-in (we arrived only an hour before designated time). Decor was a little dated. We would have liked to leave our luggage for a couple of hours to do some shopping but we finally had to give up waiting for the concierge.
Location there is no refrigerator in the room
The central location is ideal for a short city break in London. The hotel is really more of a tourist place than one suitable for business use. It is very overpriced for the quality of the facilities.
Excellent location, nice staff on reception Rooms were shabby and need to be renovated
Polite staff, good breakfast Overpriced
I do not like it al all. The worst hotel I 've even been.
The room was comfortable, the hotel facilities were good,in all we liked everything about the place No complaints
Quality of service and location
The pool, jacuzzi and sauna area was spot on. The bar was very modern with a relaxed atmosphere serving all the usual drinks and good range of cocktails. Breakfast was top, but did cost almost £20. Perfect location for a weekend in London with most places we visited being within 20 minutes whether by tube, foot or rikshaw. The rooms, depite being very modern and well presented, are a bit on the small side. Also, a cup of tea cost £9!!!
We loved the fact that the staff wanted to please and were interested in our stay, it made it an even more memorable experience.
Clean, modern design and very nicely furnished room Front desk understaffed so can be hard to get anyone to solve a problem (eg our heating was too high and phone just rang and rang at 2am when I called for help). Didn't get much sleep that night.
It was very comfortable, good bed, very good breakfast buffet and friendly staff. I would have preferred a bath tub instead of a shower :)
Friendly staff. Warm face towels on arrival at receiption was a nice touch. Modern, clean, everything in working order. Expensive breakfast
Firstly, the room we initially had, 553, was very small and cold. The first night the heater rattled constantly and wasn't functioning. The following morning, we contacted the Guest Relations manager, Barbara. She first sent up a maintenance man, who checked it and said 'That's as good as it gets. He was not understanding of the situation, but Barbara knew the heater was faulty and changed us to room 342. This room was much brighter. However, it was tiny, and we couldn't have breakfast in the room , as there was only one table, with no room for a 2nd tray. The very attentive waiter told me the hotel has no room service trolleys. Shameful. When we paid our bill, the receptionist took £150 off the total bill.. A very poor experience all round
Beautifully decorated room, amazing fitness facility, lovely staff None
The staff very kind and prepared. The new wing very confortable The only thing I didn't appreciate was that even if the hotel was generally very quiet the room door wasn't enough insulated and you can hear other room doors closing
Amazing level of service, sheer luxury and comfort, quiet and centrally situated, excellent breakfast, nothing is a problem. asked about computer to check in for flight and was provided with a laptop and printer in my room at no cost for the first 2.5 hours.
The service was excellent, the reception staff were excellent and in one particular case - superb! The fine dining was 1st class. The fact that we could only afford to stay one night and I didn't get to enjoy the spa!
Perfect hotel. Highly recommend.
bedroom, bathroom, service, facilities lack of enlargement mirror, lack of light
