This is the best location in London, steps from Covent Garden, an easy walk across the Waterloo Bridge, convenient to theaters. Thanks to recent renovations, rooms are contemporary and comfortable; staff is friendly and helpful. I have been staying here off and on for more than 25 years! The food continues to be marginal at best, and not a good value for the money. Fortunately, there are many good and reasonably-priced restaurants nearby.

The hotel was centrally located right near the Waterloo bridge, literally just steps away from the London Eye. Also conveniently located near the Covent Garden tube stop, making it very easy to travel between places throughout London and still be close to the hotel to recover. The room was nice, smaller than expected but still met my stay needs. Complementary prosecco wine and money to use at their restaurants is a bonus if booked directly with them. Take the £12 breakfast when you check in. It gets expensive if you feel like having breakfast at the hotel for several days at a time. The cost will cover you for your whole stay.
I liked the location, and the clean, bright room that had good bathroom space and a reasonable work surface. Similarly priced rooms in London are often very cramped and/or quite worn down. a really nice (and necessary, in our case) feature of the room is the sliding solid wood shutters that completely seal off outside light. This was my third or fourth stay at the sph. The weatherstripping around the windows was completely shot and ineffective, so if we had the shutters open, a powerful draft whipped through the room. There was a cold snap in London at the time, so the result was that we couldn't open the shutters and curtains to enjoy daylight. Also, as our room was over The Strand, it was very noisy at night. However, I would definitely stay again
Friendly courteous staff and very clean hotel. The walking area around the bed is a little tight.
This hotel is in the heart of London. If you stay here you are close to everything. I was only in London for 2 days and wanted a Hotel that I would spend minimal time on travel getting to London's main attractions. If you are on a budget this hotel is one of the best available. If is a bit dated but I was in London to see the sights so I did not need my hotel to be state of the art. If you are traveling in the summer be aware that this hotel has no air conditioning. At least the room I stayed in had none.
nothing very bad customer services ,rooms are very small,no air condition ,room was very hot ,this hotel not recommended at all ,i will never come back to this hotel at all .
Outstanding hotel in London. Service, room, amenities, restaurants and bars were all excellent. Beautiful view of the Thames. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to London. I can't say enough about our experience at the Mondrian. The only disappointment was one of the concierges seemed inexperienced. She booked us at a very mediocre tea service at a restaurant in London.

The room was fantastic with view over the Thames, Bed very good and quite and the Hotel is tucked out of the way but in easy access to all of London We did not get a warm welcome at reception, They tried to put us in 2 single beds when I had booked river view doudle. They would not take my word so I had to go back to the car to get our booking. It is also hard to get a cab from this hotel.
Good service Great location Breakfast buffet same everyday. Not much selection for 5 star luxury hotel. I stayed 13 nights and every morning same small selection of breakfast. There should be a lot more selection .
Everyone is polite and not overbearing. The room although we felt is was quite small it was peaceful and very clean. The only point was a dirty wet cloth left on the wardrobe shelve which was a little unpleasant,

Location is perfect for the theater district. Staff is very friendly and accommodating indeed. Hotel is very elegant, a bit formal. Could be intimidating for a tourist from the US west. Got a good room rate, but drinks, tea, and breakfast were as expensive as you'd expect from a 5 star central London hotel. We ended up changing our room twice -- the first time at the suggestion of the bellman, because it didn't have any view. The second room had a view but was way smaller than the other, and had no bath tub. We were moved a third time at our request and got a wonderful room (but without a river view). The staff made both moves very easy indeed.
The welcome and service of all the staff. Everyone especially the Hungarian gentleman bent over backwards to make an extra effort every single time I approached them. More likely they approached me quicker, to help with my pushchair and baby. They were polite and fantastic. Your real asset!! The towels had an awful smell (I have a sensitive nose). My room was no 847. When I enetered the room I could smell the pigeons in fact I looked at the window sill and sure enough there was pigeon poo - and the windows hadn't been cleaned in some time? There was no child quilt / blanket provided with the cot (and, although the cot was provided, I had to ask for this to be made). The staff could be taught level one english.

Overall stay was very comfortable except there was a very loud wedding party on Saturday night that didn't end till past 1:00am, but the hotel gave me a very generous discount for that night. Would also have liked more overhead lighting because the atmosphere in the room was rather dim!
Hotel is very well located - 50 meters to Embankment Tube, walking distance to Covent Garden, Taffalgar Square. Service was great. Room was very nice and comfortable with heated bathroom floors, but no views to speak of. Would definitely stay here again. Great deal at $250US pricepoint. Nothing.
The rooms were comfortable and we had a lovely view of the river and the lighted ferris wheel. The staff were courteous, professional, and responsive. The location is great. The concierge was quite helpful. Breakfast was great but if we had not obtained a good price including breakfast, the a la carte cost of adding on breakfast would not have been worth it. The hotel is lovely and we hope to stay there again. For about half of our stay the hotel telephone system was not working. The sink in one of our rooms was quite high and uncomfortable for our elder and short relative.

What's not to like! Everything was outstanding! The hotel staff couldn't be more friendly, anything you needed they got it for you! Just wish it wasn't so pricey otherwise we would go more often!
despite being over motor court, room was very quiet, everything was well designed, staff was extremely helpful, bathroom was tremendous, restaurant was great. Very little (if anything) to actually complain about. Top-notch. gym facilities were modest as was pool, but not a terribly big deal as most hotel gyms have a limited offer.
The Savoy stay was one of the most exceptional stays that I have had -- extraordinary from the moment the taxi door opened. I needed a rest and wanted to visit London, and the Savoy was worth every penny. Location is perfect. Food and service were outstanding -- didn't feel the need to leave for an outside restaurant. Breakfast, high tea and dinners were delicious. High Tea was conceivably the best I have every experienced. Room was like a cocoon, and their baths are legendary. Will be back soon for another break. I was disappointed that the spa and pool were closed for renovation.

A very modern hotel in a fantastic central location. The room was small but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Refused entry to the Light Bar because we hadn't booked - since when did you have to book to have a drink in a bar? This also meant we couldn't actually use the vouchers for the complimentary cocktails!

A different experience. The staff greeted me by my first name which I like a lot. Interior design is cool, I loved candles in the bathroom. Couldn't log on to the Internet with my iPad although I was charged the Internet service - which was advertised as free upon booking :-(

Everything was great, a bit expensive but that's central London. Nice Bar and pool. There was a cold draft coming from the old windows and the heat did not really heat the room. However, when we brought this to the attention of staff they came up within 5 minutes with an electric heater, and the next day called to make sure everything was OK. Breakfast could be included in the high cost of the room.
Staff were very helpful and the hotel was certainly central - paid for a mid range room which was really quite small with no view would hate to see the standard size Room size
It's location, being within short walking distance of most of the interesting places in London Arriving by car stopping at a bus stop in front of the hotel to get the luggage out of the car. The attendants were very prompt though.
The situation of the restaraunt above the bar made it a very noisy experience

Staff was friendly, professional, and responsive. Clean, quiet, and modern rooms with big screen TV. Beds are comfortable and relatively new. We were able to check in early for a reasonable fee. Bathroom had no ventilation and you have to prop open the door to clear the moisture after a shower.
Quality comfortable accomodation in central london at a fair price. The relationship between Club Quarters,The Grand and The Northumberland was a little confusing.
Location . Dislike. Booked non smoking big room with kitchen.Was given smoking room ( as if they just had held a smoking party).Eventually offered a non smoking room but much smaller and w/o kitchen . No reduction in rate ! This is truly a quarters but not hotel !
Beautiful hotel centrally located in the heart of London's biggest attractions. Loved the ability to walk everywhere without ever needing a taxi. Wonderful stay and would recommend to close friends and family.
Location is excellent, v close to Charing Cross and Embankment underground stations and walking distance to Leicester Square and Covent Garden. Bathroom small-ish and towels were old but functional. Shower was reasonably strong and water was hot.

Location. There is nothing to say about the hotel, is normal 4* hotel, nothing to complain but nothing to admire. Nice bar. I was staying alone in double room, for one it was ok. for two would be definately small.

Perfect location for us. Minimum fuss. Good room and bathroom with everything we needed. The card check-in system and the lift operated by card - not obvious which way to do it and everyone we met felt the same. Needs rethinking
Location is fabulous for tourists and the room seemed pretty clean. I did my own wipe-down with wipes and there wasn't much left behind. Maid didn't replace my washcloth even though I purposely left it on the floor to indicate that I wanted a new one. Room was small and the view from the window was nothing but a wall.
This hotel is "THE" place to stay. Location-Staff-Amenities-Location!!! Excellent location to walk around London en"Joy"ing the sites. Looking at the map you will immediately realize this is a premium place to anchor your rest area. A mere 100 yards from the Charing Cross tube station, this hotel offers a more quiet locale compared to the Piccadilly area (only 1 stop away on the tube). Before I was able to ask for an early check-in the front desk professional politely stated, "If you and your family would like, you may check-in now (at noon--3 hours early!!!). After flying on a 7 hour red-eye inbound these words golden to our bodies. This unexpected blessing let us rejuvenate with a 30 minute nap before we laced up our walking shoes. Without a doubt, this proved to be 'the most invaluable" act of kindness from the staff. According to our Fitbit we then walked over 20,000 steps and 10+ miles taking nearly 500 pictures and fondly did so with smiles--no way we could have done this without that early check-in and needed pre-rest I visited for a quick 24 hours trip (with 2 teenage kids) to gain intel for when rest of family comes so we'll be squared away. Fantastic experience! Please do yourself a favor and simply stay at the CQ Trafalgar Square. Now go to the next item on your travel checklist--the place to stay is solved. Lastly, remember that when writing and reading reviews, we cannot and should not evaluate others in their actions by using "our intentions" as the litmus test to criticize their performance. Translation: If I can only make porridge or PB&J's, I have no authority to critique one who "is" a chef but has different taste buds than my own. Enjoy your trip to this great city wherever you decide to stay and remember the reality of your trip--you are there for the city not the hotel. If anything is less than you believed prior to arrival, simply have a nicer dinner when you're out and bring the staff back a little sweet treat. Your act of kindness will be passed onto a future guest at the hotel. Be Well and Safe Travels :)) PS. Centrally located, luxury boutique hotel with excellent facilities. Housekeeping was fantastic. The rooms were spotless and always well stocked. Upgraded to a room which allowed us access to the Club Lounge. Lounge was a wonderful place to relax, unwind and grab a snack. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The staff was eager to help us any way they could. They even obtained tickets to a football game for us after we heard it was sold out. The rooms were spotless, the towels were luxuriously thick, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We WILL be back! I wish we could have had a regular top sheet and light blanket on our bed instead of a down quilt ( at the beginning of September!) -- just too hot for that time of year.

Location is excellent. Very clean with a kitchenette with microwave, stove, dishwasher, electric kettle. Very nice to be able to have breakfast and not have to change clothes. Very green with a toilet tank that is topped by a little sink where u wash your hands and it automatically fills the toilet tank; ingenious!! Little staffs also a a bit dark in the rooms but that's because they use energy saver lights do OK with me.
The location is perfect to see many sights and close to the underground. There are NO American Outlets anywhere, and I understand that yes I am in the UK and they don't have the same voltage as in the States, but EVERY hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Europe has had at least ONE American Outlet. The outlets are no where near mirrors. So even if you packed an outlet converter, you wouldn't be able to see yourself do your hair. CFL lighting instead of LED, which take a long time to warm up and are not as bright. Instead of having One Strong WIFI Network, they had over a dozen WEAK Ones. You had to constantly re-connet to Wifi because the signal would go out. We spent majority of the time reconnecting between 3 different Citadines Wifis. The bathtub/shower is so high off the ground, you have to physically climb into it, and careful not to fall out. I almost fell out completely one, but thankfully my boyfriend caught me in time. Our in room fridge creaked and moaned all hours of the night, and soon became part of our nightly sleep, Given the Opportunity, I would NOT stay here again.

Great location (just off Trafalgar Sq. and 2 mins walk from the tube station); room is big by London's standard and the price; reasonable facilities The room smelled a bit when I first moved in, especially the kitchenette, either it got better later or I got used to it. Linens were not changed during my stay (3 nights), but you sort of expect that with a serviced apartment. I would be better if we were told how often they change though.
The room had a kitchenette with cook-top, refrigerator, dishwasher and flatware/glassware. These amenities came in handy to prepare a meal or have snacks on-hand instead of purchasing every meal at a restaurant. The room was a good size for a in-town European location. The room and bathroom were clean and well-kept.
We liked the location as we were visiting art galleries and also had a trip to the theatre. It is in a very convenient spot. We found the room cold in the evening and could have done with another blanket or two, as the weather was very cold. The thermostat didn't appear to work. We woke up cold in the night.

generally efficient and good rooms not cleaned on regular basis. i was told it is once a week. at least the rooms can be cleaned more frequently even though linen need not be changed for a few days.
The location was perfect and many of the tourist sights were within walking distance so we saved quite a bit on travel and travel fares.On a weekend visit you do not spend much time in the hotel,but I would stay here again because of the location. I would advise people to avoid the £9 cost of breakfast and just walk round the corner to a small cafe and pay half the price.
The Grand lived up to it's name, with a quiet, posh feel. Very comfy bed, and the staff were above and beyond in helpfulness, politeness and friendliness. Breakfast, while costly, was exceptionally well varied and high quality. And the location was superb! Everything was walkable if you wanted. If not, access to taxis, London bus tours, and the subway system was also right at hand. Overall, a great choice!

location - in the heart of the city Comparing with other 4 star hotels at the same price the rooms are very small. I booked around 4-6 weeks in advanced asking for city view and all I got was an inner courtyard... I advice that this kind of requests to be processed early and not in the last day when there are no rooms available to choose from.

Called over to us as were leaving check in to give info. about facilities etc. Not very professional in approach. However check out very smooth and so above may just have been a one off at a busy spell.

hotel is centrally locatated in london, tube station just around the corner, walking distance from the beautiful covent garden. i loved the service the hotel provides where u can check out on a touch screen computer without having to go to reception. on checking in, we were going to be charged double what i agreed to pay on this web site. only for having my print off of the receipt i wonder would we have had any come back.. not a good start! i booked a studio kitchenette but only got a double room with sofa bed. to be honest we were so tired after coming back from a hard day of shopping we hadnt the energy to argue as long as our room was clean and slept 3 comfortably we didnt mind.
Fantasic offer of an upgrade to a junior suite for just £35 incl bottle of wine and a great room with lots of extra space. Made the stay even more enjoyable. Superb location, friendly staff 10/10 :)
The hotel was elegant without being pretentious. The entire staff, really everyone, were: friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, intelligent, observant and consistently went above expectations. They helped us feel so at home in a new city. The location at Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross was ideal, full access to the city and all of its charms. The room cooler had a weak seal and kept heating rather than cooling if the door wasn't carefully closed. There was minimal storage space for clothing...tiny closet and no drawer space.
The staff are friendly helpful and show a wide variation of knowledge of the city hotel is clean and the candles in the evening are a nice touch Xmas tree lovely.

Near many tourist attractions and two Tube stations, the hotel is in a great spot. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They even let me check into my room when I arrived from my early flight at 9am! The rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was great too.
The staff were very polite and friendly and the candles and decorations around the hotel were beautiful giving it a romantic atmosphere. The bed and room were very comfortable. Our room was next to a side street with trucks arriving very early with deliveries and it was noisy! And our phone rang every 30 minutes from around 8am (we were too tired to figure out why!) And the attendant walked into our room at around 9am even though we had locked the door and put the latch on.
The location is excellent, being right above Charring Cross Station and within walking distance to all the West End theatres. The hotel itself is very nice and our room was great. Breakfast was also nice, with gluten-free bread offered to my girlfriend. Upon arrival at 1.45 pm we were offered an upgrade to a junior suite for an extra 50 pounds. We accepted but wanted to check in straight away as we had a theatre show at 3.30 pm. Reception said the room would be ready in 10 mins. We finally got into the room at 2.45 - unacceptable! The bottle of wine that was offered upon the upgrade was also not delivered until later I asked about it. Given we were in a hurry to get ready and get to the show I didn't have time to make a big deal of it. When asked we were given a late checkout, 1pm instead of 12, which was something I guess. But I definitely got the impression the reception staff did not care at all about the customer and were merely chasing extra dollars from the customer.

The hotel had just the perfect location for us, situated as it was within a 10-minute walk of Leicester Square, Soho, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, St Martins-in-the-Field, Covent Garden, The Strand, and so much more. Our room was on the 3rd floor, directly above the entrance to Charing Cross Station and practically overlooking Trafalgar Square. Amazingly, we could hardly ever hear a sound from outside! The windows had great soundproofing, I guess. The only sounds that appeared to get through were when the street musicians played amplified guitars at night, and they seemed to stop at a decent hour so it wasn't all that disruptive. Staff were always friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable with all modern conveniences including a soothing rainwater shower with plenty of hot water. The complimentary minibar was a nice surprise, too.
Perfect location for shopping and theater in London. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful ballroom. Nice champagne bar for a drink before dinner. Some rooms are very small and hsave no heating in the bathroom.
We traveled in from Heathrow and the hotel was close to the underground stop. Easy walking distance to all major landmarks. Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was awesome. the 110 outlet in our room had a plug broken into it making it unusable.

Excellent location just off the Strand. Friendly and helpful staff, and great breakfast included in my stay. Rooms are a little small. Also not much of an open lounge area for waiting around or hanging out, but tight space is to be expected for the location.
Location is excellent - very convenient for Covent Garden and transport links. Most of our destinations were within a 10 minute walk. Our room was on the inner courtyard so quiet and peaceful. We had been concerned that the bathroom might prove a problem ( from reading earlier reviews) but although the door is frosted glass, it was not possible to view the occupant from the bed. We enjoyed a full breakfast on both mornings without any delay in service. All colleagues were keen to ensure that every detail ran smoothly. We did n't expect a bath in the bathroom( only a shower) so were delighted at the opportunity for a soak before our evening out. The umbrella came in handy for the unexpected shower on the first night out. We used the spa on the first evening- a little disappointed at the state of decoration. Nearly slipped on the floor when I stepped of the matting. Just to clarify that the spa is run by another company.
The wait time for everything was exceedingly slow. A food order could take over 90 min for delivery. The rooms were not sound proof you could here every person who walked by and what they were saying. The staff were not trained for a hotel of that price. The breakfast selection was mediocre and the same everyday for the 9 days I was there. The hotels decor is old and outdated. It was difficult to even have a bottle of water delivered. The food was less and average.
