public areas look really well, staff very good and very convenient location I perbooked internet access but it did not work satisfactorily. When I reported it a new connection was brought up fairly quickly but I had been very inconvenienced overnight and in checking in online in time and on checkout the front desk staff did not appear able to handle a request that some deduction to the 24 hour rate be made.
Dinner was excellent
Excellent location Comfortable Good breakfast Doormen need to greet people
Handy for the Albert Hall and Kensington shopping
It was good returning to a hotel we knew where the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Staff were very helpful. Nice clean looking lobby. Good fire escape facilities. At check-in were trying to charge us for an extra baby cod (child < 2yrs) while in the initial advertisement baby cods were free of charge. After a short but crisp discussion showing them booking info on paper printed from the site, staff finally admitted the cod was indeed free of charge. Phone charges for local calls are ridiculously expensive, real robbery. Looking at the quality of the rooms, the general service facilities and costs, and comparing with other hotels, a 4-star classification is overrated.
There is not an adequate business center ...very bad for a "business" hotel....
Breakfast buffet was outstanding The outward appearance of building--it's much nicer than it appears
What I liked about this hotel was the close vicinity to Kensington gardens and the underground station we stayed at this hotel two times this trip, The first saty we checked in early, the only room available was at the mezzanine. though it was a non smoke room, the room smelled badly and the outlets for the laptop were hidden behind the refrigerator. The second time we upgraded to a better more expensive room , which was nicer but also showed some bad points, the exterior windows seals were partly gone, and the airconditioning which looked ancient was noisy. Overall my impression was that this was once a great hotel for its day but today is in dire need of maintenance and repairs. Also the exterior looks very dirty. The prices are very high compared to the room you get. Overall I don't think I would make use of this hotel again.
It was a very reasonably priced hotel especially for London. It is very self-contained, several restaurants and bars, that are open late. It also has a take it to go, snack and breakfast cafe. It is close to the tube. The air conditioning is not up to the task, especially when the temperature spikes in the summer. The hotel is dated, old look, old furniture, etc.
Location to underground. It is five minutes to the station and easy to use. Also, the breakfast is very good. The Chinese Bistro was good too. We were pleased with everything. The hotel however, gets quite busy.
Great location Rooms were a bit tiredlooking
Location was perfect. The hotel staff recommended some excellent restaurants and were extremely helpful.
The location to the Albert Hall. We were not pre-warned that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and therefore noise levels were very high.
the Tenth floor bar/restaurant is superb and has fantastic views throughout the day. the staff were fabulous the room was a bit dated and worn but still very nice.
The room was comfortable and spacious, whilst the staff were vwery attentive.
Great location on Kensington High Street. Pleasant view from room. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Excellent staff and good room for London
Friendly and helpful staff, good rooms and service level. Noisy street - room facing the road, not flexible check in/out hours despite that I informed the reception about early arrival and departure in advance.
The location was excellent and the staff were great ambassadors for the hotel from reception through to housekeeping
I liked the fact that it is located beside the Hyde Park which gives a nice view from your room and makes it easy to take a walk there and enjoy the fresh air. Didnt like the GYM.
Location And the room Gym can be better.
Great Location and great views of Kensington Palace, staff that spoke english were good. Room was small, price was high for room and some staff very poor.
Very good service, very intent concierges and porters. I didn't like your breakfast serviece. Early moning when I lived your hotel, there was not cold water in the tap, which is unacceptably for five-star hotel.
Iwas un happy all the stay my room was very bad Very old very expensive
everyhing outstanding... I strongly suggest this hotel
Location of the hotel, unobtrusive room service Couldn't find a shoe-shine set, failed to take cold shower.
Stuff cooperation Food
personalized service. Very friendly and courteous staff. The rooms are very dark due to colors, design and lighting. Bathrooms are very poor in safety. The barthtub is very slippery when taking a shower and the shower heads are very have very low perssure and flow. Bathroom tiles color, black, is not the best choice and makes the look of bathrooms very depressing.
Service and standard/condition of room . Service on arrival was less than disappointing. Room not ready ( arrived post 3.00pm) room very tired - bulbs out headboard stained general housekeeping unsatisfactory, reception staff not 5start trained.
Stylish decor. Excellent food; attentive service Service ar beakfast was charming but amateurish
Great location, very helpful staff and superb service Help from teh staff was excellent
The decoration is great and the personel very pleasant and helpfull. We had the luck to be upgraded in a junior suite and had the surprise of a very nice cake for my husband's birthday. Location on the park and near to the best areas.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had a room with a view at the park, which was great. When we got back to the room in the evening, housekeeping had been there and had laid back the blackets and lit a candle, which created a very 'at home' atmosfere. The first morning we had a late breakfast and the buffet was not very well stocked. However, they made that up the next day with one of the best breakfasts we ever had!
Welcoming staff if a bit over attentive! Nothing too much trouble. My friend joined us for drinks in the bar area early evening and was questioned extenisvely as to why she was entering the hotel! Very vigilant from a security point of view but our guest name should have re-assured the concierge staff she was on legitimate business ;this appeared not to be the case.
Beautiful room. Staff was incredible!
We don't have any complaints about the hotel or the staff whatsoever. Everything was arranged extremely well. Location opposite Hyde Park very nice. We will definitely we going back.
Very nice hotel, good staff, nice atmosphere May be a bit expensive, but worth it
Stellar service, charming decor, perfect location
All of it no
everything, every body was so friendly.
style and service
The attention to detail by all hotel staff, impeccable standard of the interior and most importantly of all the welcome and care towards our pet spaniel dog.
It was very comfortable, particularly for the price we paid. Nothing, really, except the heater was somewhat noisy (but that's what you get in an old building, even when it's been nicely updated).
The staff were amasing and very helpful. I stayed three nights and then returned for an additional night at the end of my trip because the place was perfect in location, comfort and staff. Very impressed. I came from Australia and intend to use this as a base for business in the future.
Clean, excellent accessability, comfortable
Nothing. No hot water supply and no one came to fix it at all. Poor service and management
We loved the decorations and furnishings in the hotel and how close it was to the tube station. Location was very convenient for getting around London and staying in Notting Hill made us feel like locals. There really wasnt't anything we didn't like.
When I found the accomodation the room was very modern well equiped and very clean.
Location Room cleaned once a week and not sufficient
the house and the room are beautiful, a great location near the underground, portobello road and its nice market. The fully furnished the kitchen is appreciable too for quick meals The shower was difficult to use,too hot!!! The internet was not working in the room or worked by 5 min periods and nobody to help. A light did not work and the coffee maker was out of order.
I have serious problems with overcharging. I stayed there from November the 15th to the 29th. I first booked through booking.com for a week (November the 15th to the 22nd) so the Notting Hill Suites charged the first week of booking. I asked to stay another week and the receptionist said it wasn't paid and charged me two weeks instead of the other one I was asking for. After I realised that the first week was already paid and asked for a refund. The receptionist said ok and pretended he did the refund but it wasn't so.Then I asked again and he finally did the refund. The problem is that they charged me again for another two weeks. So if you are going to stay there, be very careful about what you pay, double check if they are not overcharging you.
Staff was polite, location is great. Cleaning is at good standard. Value for money is well disproportioned, will not visit again. Terrible draft coming from the window next to the bed. Heating was not working so they fit a portable eating in the room. Shower facility very bad design, it gets overloaded and is not sufficient light on the bathroom.
Lovely views over Hyde Park and London. A bed in the family room for child not a sofa bed. Nice quiet hotel but close to tube and bus stops. Hyde Park just across the road. The water was off for a time because of building works, but bottle water was supplied for washing hands etc. Nothing else springs to mind.
The room was a little small but to a very good standard Nothing
The politness of the staff, the room, it's cleanliness, the wonderful firm matress ( especially important for people with back-problems!) the view, everything. Elevators a little bit slow, especailly in the morning when every body is in a hurry to go sightseeing.
very good it was under renovation so there was delay in services, and the minibar was empty
Convenient location, clean rooms, friendly staff
I found the staff very fiendly and helpful and the location good The bed was not very firm which was dissappointing as this is the most important factor to me apart from location
Great view over Hyde Park, good berakfast, very friendly and helful staff not all facilities described on website were in the room
Great location, very nice and helpful reception staff Breakfast was bland, not much choice and very expensive
convenient choice of food. There was nothing for children
Staff very friendly and helpful. Wonderful views over Kensington Palace Gardens from rooms at front of hotel. Well placed for West End Shops and theatres. Taxi rank right outside door. Bathrooms are very small and tired - sink cracked in our room however the hotel is undergoing renovation.
Functional. With excellent choices for breakfast. No dislikes.
Very close to Queensway. Shower was like dried up waterfall.
I really liked the location and the amenities. The Underground was close, along with a nice selection of restaurants and Hyde Park. It was very well decorated and attractive. Some of the wait staff and the housekeeping could have been more consistent in their service. The housekeeper may or may not get to some of the details of our room each day. The restaurant waitstaff had new people each day, so there was some confusion in the dining room. Overall though, the leadership was excellent and professional.
Very comfy beds, clean room and reception very accomodating my request for a park view The showers are very bad, really low pressure
Location, facilities incl. internet, all-round very good. None.
Too small bathroom
Please write at least 15 words
Hotel area, availability of the staff generally, however the restaurant service was not very good. The face that they offered us a room with baathroom handicap facilities in the first place, which we did not refuse (the room was nice, except the bathroom) as we understood the hotel was busy.
Just round the corner from Queensway tube station. Fire alarm at 8am on a Sunday morning but this couldn't be helped!
Friendly Staff, very nice ambience Room decor looked tired.
Basic services worked and stay was without any hitches Overall atmosphere, which lacked warmth both in terms of interiors n attention.
Evening meal not up to standard
Friendly staff, clean and tidy room Expensive parking, waiting over 3 hours to check in - arrived at 12pm
Blue Smoke restaurant and Lions Bar. Food was great. Building upgrade noises.
Location, comfortable beds, value for money @ £92 for twin room. Small rooms and renovations going on with no notice of it.
nothing far too small a room for a double, overlooking dirty unkempt roof, which offers little security. Cheap furnishings and faulty TV and Wifi. and $25 for a breakfast - appalling for a 4star..
Close to Imperial College where my son studies Constant smell of sewage, mildew and damp. Pompous, arrogant, unhelpful staff in the main. I had one small bar of soap that ended in a sliver but was not replaced - same with the Toilet roll that was not changed till the day before departure, and I stayed six nights. I have worked in been the Financial Controller in Five Star Hotels in both Knightsbridge and Dubai, and did not realise how tacky this Hotel was; they refused to give me a refund, so I had all my meals, and spent all my time at the Copthorne Tara Hotel next door, where the staff were great, as was the food, the ambience, and the smell.
The hotel is clean, amazingly located, the bed was large and comfortable and room was nice The service was actually horrendous and bordered rude on several occasions.
Location near the tube. Breakfast down the block at the Muffin Man. Hardly enough room to walk around the double bed.
The staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable. The food was good and it is close to rhe RAH The staff need a bit more help with their fire drill. The alarm went off at least three times around Midnight and we saw only about 2 staff and we only found out what to do by ringing the concierge.
Had minor problems with TV and telephone, but they were rectified in an expeditious manner.Breakfast was great. All staff were very good. Would definitely stay there again. Nothing
The breakfast was below my expectations
The locationm was excellent and the staff were outstanding in their knowledge of the London buses that would facilitate our return to Liverpool St Station during last monday's tube strike. Also very helpful in directions to the Westfield Shopping Centre. Applause all round! I could not find any yoghurt in the vicinity of the continental breakfast buffet bar and there was no staff member that I could ask for this item. It was advertised on the menu at teh entrance to the restaurant. The fire alarm went aff at approx midnight on Sunday night, but there was no announcement that we had to evacuate the building and plenty of us thought that the alarm was going off in another room rather that for the hotel in general. This misunderstanding could have proven lethal, thankfully, it didn't
Very nice and clean, fast check-in and out and very friendly staff Rooms are a bit small, but beautiful
Good rate, good standard, nice hotel Rooms far too small, shower did not work, no pressure.
we arrived at the hotel to find the boiler had broken and as such, would have to move hotel. To the hotels credit, they moved us to another 4 star hotel in a better location, the marlebone hotel just off bond street. So all was well after a shaky start. The grand royal did look a lovely hotel from the lobby, just a pity we didn't get to see the room.
Inexpensive, good location, modern fittings, quite stylish (until you looked closely), wonderful lobby, clean Plumbing was appalling - very poor hot water pressure, window wouldn't open and radiator was too powerful for size of room, v small room
Great location, quiet room, staff friendly, historic building Horribly, almost comically small room; breakfast overpriced; almost no water pressure in shower
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were nice and the location is perfect for those who want to see all of London. The room we were in was tiny. There was barely enough space for the bed, let alone for two big bags. The water pressure in the shower is very poor and during the last two days of our stay, there was no warm water in the hotel. The boiler was defect and couldn't be fixed in time. The hotel taxi charged more then the pre-agreed price, eventhough we repeated the address twice.
The hotel was right near all the underground stations so it was easy to get to and from Westminster abbey and downtown attractions Very over pricey, but I guess you can expect that being in London
The hotel has a comfy atmosphere. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent since it was close to Bayswater station (5 min walk) and Queensaway street with many international restaurants and convenience stores. The room and bathroom were extremely small. Barely enough room for one person to walk around. The corridors were narrow and claustrophobic, and the elevator was as small as a phone booth!
the room was great although very small there was no hot water at the hotel... in winter.... and I was only informed when I got there to check in.
the building is very impressive. Breakfast and reception staff very amiable and attentive. Room was quiet. nothing springs to mind
Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and conviently located near the underground Rooms were small and no nightlife around at night
Location. 1- room and toilet are too small. 2- the clib coffee lounge didnt have coffee. the clib lounge i normaly went to other hotels inclusive of free flowing drinks and snacks and with inclusive breakfast.
The location was great (next to the tube and on the other side of the street Kensington Park). Breakfast was also very good! Perfect place to stay for a city trip! Bathroom little old, everything works but it is a little bit old
The location and staff on check in were great Furnshings in our room were a bit dated.
Location was great! My room was very small over looking the AC units on the roof but I was on the 1st floor. Bathroom was also very small. I wouldn't choose to stay more then one night unless they have bigger rooms
Location is great, close to tube station and to many restaurants. Hotel is clean, staff is very nice, restaurant inside hotel is great. Room a bit small, phonic insulation is not that great, Wi-Fi did not have coverage in the room, disconnecting frequently.
The location was perfect for me. Two tube stops very close accessing the Circle, District, and Central lines. Ten minutes walk to Kensington Palace; both Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are across the road. There are many ethnic restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Nice Shopping Center 10 minutes walk. Very good ice cream shop next door! Nothing
This hotel does not have a fitness center and does not have access to one, so be prepared to run through Hyde Park.
proximity to tube station and hye park
Hotel was a ideal location for London with underground next door
It is not noisy, very quiet No every things good .
the staff were really helpful and friendly i found the room a little hot and didn't want to listen to air con all night (but this was just a small thing
The staff was very friendly. I arrived around 11:30 and my room was ready. The room was small by American standards, but expected size for London. It was well appointed with nice linens and a lovely bathroom. The window faced an interior roof space, and not Hyde Park, but this is pretty minor in the scheme of things.
Staff is helpful. Very close to tube. couple of pubs not far. Hyde Park across the street. !!! During a breakfast thieves stole a bag from a coupple in the !!! restaurant. Victims were foreigners. Lost all their money and !!! passports. Got a lot of troubles instead of having fun.
Looks nice, very good value for money, staff is very friendly Rooms should be refurbished, double bed shouldn't be made from two single beds
very good staff and location handy double room supplied to small and no storage no climate contol as in cool air if required
The location of the Hotel No Clear Policy for the extension of the stay for few hours ( 1 or 2 hours ) , the evening shift told me yes its possible they might charge 20 pounds , but the morning shift refused and ask for one day full payment :( and one more thing i didnt like in the hotel , they refuse to store the luggage for 2 hours :(
during our stay, we could actually hear the hotel guest in the next room snoring in the night as the walls are too thin. it was also quite noisy at night as our rooms were facing the street
The room was clean and not too small. Courteous staff even during a rush at check-in time. Location is good as it is close to a couple Underground lines and a 15 minute walk to Padington Station (where the Heathrow Express train ends). No Air Conditioning. Room was on the 3rd floor and the heat was almost stifling. Surprising given outside the temps were only in the mid 70's (F). They provided a fan, which made it bearable. They also limited the amount the window opened, making it very hard to get in fresh air. I would stay there again, but only when it is very cool out.
breakfast was not so good
Easily accessible from London Heathrow to Paddington (10 minute walk) and very good location for tubes into city centre or access to Kensington and Hyde parks. This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel. Bathroom slightly on the small side, and shower curtain leaked, but on the scale of things nothing major.
Nice tub, and was very accessible to the tube, nice bed and very comfortable stay. Some of the wires behind the bed were still jutting out and should have been covered. The bathtub needed some repair work.
City centre, close to London's main attractions. Nothing ... except the "key" always failed! Not a big problem though.
The non smoking restriction
The location of the hotel The staff were extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. I was very disappointed. We also had no hot water so could not have a shower which was absolutely horrible and for this there was no apology when I mentioned it. Our luggage was not held at the hotel, meaning we had to make a very long and tiring journey on the tube from Oxford Circus and back to place our luggage at St Pancras which cost us more money and wasted hours of the few hours that we had. We booked a room with a double bed and it was two single beds pushed together which was uncomfortable! I am 20 years of age and have stayed in many hotels around the world and CP was the worst experience.
The room was warm, very clean and comfortable. The shower had loads of hot water and again very clean.
Modern, sleek appearance of rooms...loved the art, although the rooms could have more items on the wall. Loved the self-serve breakfast with a multitude of food options. Biscuits for tea and coffee would have been a nice option for the tea tray in the room. Also, there was no flat sheet on the bed; however, there was a fitted sheet and a blanket, which was slightly disconcerting because hotels do not always launder their blankets. I wondered if I would be sleeping under a dirty blanket so my partner and I chose to sleep on top of the blanket for that reason.
Bathroon was clean and shower was lovely. Room service was very good. Clean towels and sheets every day even if we left the towels hanging up! Window did not open and no view due to being in the basement, window only looked onto surrounding walls. We like air in the room at night which we could'nt have due to not being able to open a window. Also our only way out to the exit was a lift, we were'nt shown any other way-what about if there was a fire?
There were no tables avaiable when we went down for breakfast, when we asked for a refund on breakfast (as we had to be someware)we were refused and told to complain to the maanger who conviently was not there at the time
Helpful staff Room clean, generous amounts of tea & coffee. Too mant scuff marks on wall remote was missing for TV outrageous prices for the mini bar
Good location, good size of the room, small kitchen in the room, hot water and good temperature in the room The room was in the ground flor and near to door and in the morning noice from door was too big
Excellent room with beautiful large bathroom. Really good breakfast Air-conditioning was not working when I arrived but this was quickly rectified
Impressively well run and clean You really should learn how to make tea. Tea-pots and boiling water are not too difficult to provide.
Modern hotel, central for sightseeing proposes Maintenance is poor
Comfortable hotel in a good location.
The location was OK, and that is the only good thing about this hotel. Queens Park Hotel is simply the worst Hotel that I have been to. When I checked in, they assigned me a room between 2 floors, where I could barely fit my carry on bag and a large bag. After a complaint, they gave me a somewhat larger room. However, everything in the room was old, it was stinky, and uncomfortable. Furthermore, it did not have A/C, which was needed. When I wanted to purchase the wifi service, they told me that it was not working. I would never recommend Queens Park Hotel to anybody.
It was close to Paddington and economical Beds not comfortable, rooms to hot and a bit run down, service a bit distant.
Close to underground stations, restaurants and shops. Room was in basement, very stuffy. Airconditioning was one speed, either your'e too cold or too hot. No instructions for lockable safe for valubles. There wasn't a phone directory next to the phone so you didn't know what number to call for anything. Noisy people in other rooms. Housekeeping forgot to provide clean towels one day after taking the dirty ones. Room key had to be reactivated everyday in order for it to work.
Dirty hotel. No air conditionned in our room. Only a little broken window. Our bedroom were in the basement, not very confortable.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night but for £1 we could leave our bag so we could shop the next day. They were very happy for us to sit in reception until it was time to get our train home as well.
The value for money and helpfulness of the staff along with the very convenient location for the Royal Albert Hall. Nothing
Staffs are very friendly, reasonable price, very close to tube, breakfast is good. Lifts are quite old and small.
position bed and breakfast
I liked the fact breakfast was included. Please change breakfast items, same thing daily. Ugh. No air conditioning in our room. Paid for wifi and had to use it in the lobby. Would not go back! Outdated, things falling apart.
The price and location were the best part of the 3 night experience. The inclusive buffet breakfast had all the bases covered. The room was overall well kept by the housekeeping staff. The room was tiny, and the window opened to the view of bricks and concrete. I didn't mind as I wasn't expecting anything else for the price. However, I did feel a lack of breathable air at night due to the room size. I'm average build and found it too small. Also, the walls need a lick of paint...
Location near the park Breakfast self service area was not clean, public areas worn and tired. Rooms very small. bathroom not big enough to get chnaged in
Fantastic value for money, room was decent, fantastic location, would definitely recommend to anyone on a budget.
