Good location. Historic building with attractive public spaces. Good shower with adequate water pressure. Although my room charges were fully prepaid, the front desk clerk insistent on selling me breakfast, which I did not want, and in putting a 50 pound per day hold on my credit card, even though I said I was not going to use any of the hotel's restaurants. Difficult to get into the room because a large cupboard had been situated directly insider the door, almost blocking the passageway into and out of the room.
big bathroom and unique decoration of the room. there was no fridge and safe box in the room. there is no concierge most of the time. staff are not professional.
Central location, comfortable large room with large tub and shower, full breakfast, friendly helpful staff
The size of the Junior suite was wonderful! The room was a little old and had some cracks in the wall joints. They didn't have any pull in area if you arrive by car. We weren't aware of this from the descriptions and had to drive around the area to find a parking garage and then roll our luggage a few blocks to the hotel.
The food was excellent, the staff most helpfull. The first room offered was very very poor ,we had to pay extra to get an half decent room
the three consierge gentlemen we spoke to were very helpful Staff maybe might smile. If applicable make sure you get your Harrods voucher. We had to ask even though it was included in our package.
Old stile nice people, good food Very very small room, breakfast needs more item
Excellent location with easy access to both Russell Square and Holborn Tube stations. Lots of very good local pubs and eateries and only minutes away from the British Museum. My room was fairly large by English standards with a very nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. An excellent breakfast with a good selection of both cooked and cold items was available and included in the room rate. My stay was short so didn't note any problems whatsoever.
The hotel has an excellent location and a very nice atmosphere. I also enjoyed the restaurant recommendations made by the concierge. The room was a bit noísy (I lived on the second floor).
Hotel room was warm and comfortable, as the weekend weather was poor it was nice to get back to an inviting room. Delay in breakfast - although once we got fed it was great.
Excellent location, great staff
The location was excellent on Russell Square with a Cafe Nero and Pret a Manger next door. The breakfast was excellent and I would highly recommend adding that to your package. The bathrooms were some of the largest I have seen in Europe. The staff at Hotel Russell did not measure up to the overall customer service I experienced in England as a whole. They are less than accommodating to guests who booked through discount websites and treat guests who booked directly with them better. The interior is very dated and needs renovation. My friends room on the first night had a very strong cleaning chemical odor. It was unbearable for them because they have some sensitivities. The hotel was unable to move them to another room and we ended up switching rooms with them. The wifi at this hotel is spotty at best. I would not refuse to stay at this hotel again but I would probably avoid it.
Bar was nice Room was small and underwhelming consider g how much we paid.
Architecture and Services are Excellent. Food is great. Staff is A+. Elevators need a tune up. Bathrooms are slippery.
We loved the look of the place and everyone was so professional and friendly. We had a wonderful Christmas brunch and had fun going in the spa pool. We had a drink in the bar. I'd highly recommend it. It's just beautiful there.
hotel was a peaceful experience staff all very helpful especially the restaurant manager. I did leave behind some of my clothing and wanted to arrange these items be posted to my home address? 26 Glencoe, Whitburn West Lothian Scotland EH47 8AR Central location, cleanliness, up to date style & furniture.
Modern clean smart rooms with all amenities in an excellent location close to St Pancras and Kings Cross stations plus friendly staff. Nothing to not like
Lo recomiendo 100%
Only stayed one night to catch the train to Heathrow the next day. Great location in proximity to Kings Cross St Pancras. Trendy lobby with DJ playing on Friday night, not too loud though. Beds were great, showers were nice, all modern decor. Morning breakfast buffet in the restaurant is great. Overall it's a nice clean place to stay for a night or two. I'd be back.
Bed was amazingly comfortable with great sheets. Bathroom perfect, breakfast amazing. check out was a bit busy.
Very handy for Eurostar Toweld old and hard. Shower door didn't fit well
Staff was ready and willing to help at any time. Bed was very comfortable and room was spotless. Wonderful breakfast with many options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The location is central and the views from the top floors are stunning. There are many excellent restaurants nearby.
The location was ideal, transportation was near by. The staff was friendly The bed was hard!!
The Pullman St Pancras had nice, high-end finishes in the bathroom and the bedroom, as well as in the lobby. People have complained about the wifi, but we actually had a pretty good experience with it; we were able to make a call using their wifi. All in all, a pretty comfortable experience. This is in a pretty noisy part of London (Euston Rd), which means that there are a lot of pubs (which can get rowdy), cars honking horns, ambulance and police sirens, etc.; even though we were on the 12th floor, the noise from outside woke me up often during the night. Also, the bathroom door does not shut tightly; it leaves a gap between the leaves of the door, so any noises (etc.) from inside the bathroom are audible to your significant other in the rest of the room! Not particularly romantic! And the thermostat was difficult to program; quite a few times, it would show 22 degrees C and be programmed for 18, but would still put out warm air, which makes no sense.
The location of the hotel was fantastic and we had great views of the city from our room. We were given a room with disabled access which was fine. The only complaint I have about the 'wet room' is that the water did not drain away and the floor was a gigantic puddle and we had no way of getting the water out. Also, are 3 shower heads neccessary for one bathroom??
It is walking distance from the train station, great location. The staff is very helpful and very accommodating. The breakfast was the best I've had in Europe during my 3 month stay. The bathrooms are very modern and the whole hotel is very clean. The hotel is great, but the beds are a little firm. There was one lady at the front desk that was polite but cold. Other than that everything was great.
Excellent service. Great breakfast.
It was a business trip so only slept there but breakfast was lovely. Excellent location too!
Location is great and rooms are quite large and clean. Also quite reasonably priced. The rooms are a bit noisy. They need to replace the windows which do not close very well so you hear all the noise from outside. Staff could be more courteous.
Marena (server in the restaurant) really hustled and kept good cheer despite being very busy. Other staff offered very good service, as well. Breakfast buffet was well appointed and tasty. Very poor value for the money. The room was quite cramped, awkward layout, and noisy (even though the front desk said it was the quiet side of the hotel). Seating in the room and throughout the hotel common area is old and uncomfortable. I won't go back.
location was excellent, had an appointment at the uclh hospital. Service from staff at front desk, valet parking and room service was very good indeed. Negatives are although we arrived later than planned and had wanted to order hot food, when we called at 10.55pm we were told hot food was finished! The advertised finish time is 11.00pm in room service info, I know it is only five minutes but when you have travelled 5 hours and did order before the end time, bit frustrating. The stay to be honest was spoilt by very slow and unmotivated restaurant staff, No welcome from staff in restaurant, had to wait by a table whilst he took all the cutlery off a fully layed table next to our table, why not just seat us on the table that was already layed??!! Did not expect a hotel as this to be unprofessional at all.I expected better for breakfast than the experiance we had, being hoteliers ourselves.
The room was very tidy, and had everything we needed! The front desk was very helpful and the tube station (Warren) was right next door. I can't really think of anything at all. There was no fridge and my husband mistook the minibar so we were charged, but the front desk took off all the chargers.
conference hotel with tiny hallways, bad views. Did not feel luxurious. Overpriced
Fitness centre Breakfast Stuff
Excellent Breakfast buffet, right across the street from the Tube stop. Neat and clean. Room decent size. Towel warmer contributed to heat in room, but maintenance guy was quick to correct that for us. Air conditioning did not work properly and it was too warm in room at night. The hardest bed I have ever slept on! We had to take the comforter and place if under the thin mattress cover for any cushioning at all. Truly just a hard set of box springs with a cover, no mattress at all.
The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The TV was dated and had a very limited number of channels.
Check-in and check-out was easy and efficient 1) Bedroom sash window was loose fitting and so rattled in the wind. 2) Goods being received (or moved) below my window at 06:30. 3) Ancient 14in portable TV as far away from the bed or easy chair as it was possible to locate it.
Great location - and was very close to King's Cross which was a big reason for booking this last minute. Room is small but exactly the space needed. Beautiful space and very comfortable. Would be great if hotel could have USB outlets as a replacement for plugs and need for adapters in charging tech gadgets.
Friendly, polite and helpful staff, clean facility. Good location. Noisy room location above delivery dock, construction noise one night until 11 pm. Extremely poor acoustics in restaurant (am acoustic specialist in N. America) very hard surfaces, floor, walls, ceiling and other multiple reflective surfaces make for most unpleasant experience resulting in avoiding restaurant second time.
it was coveniently situated for Radisson Edwardian Hotel, which is where we needed to be that evening poor service in the bar, exorbitant charges for drinking water, spartan room and bathrom, noise in the morning from street and plumbing
The hotel provides a consistent level of frienliness, efficiency and comfort. it is well placed for shopping , sisgt seeing and business (city of London banks etc).
Hassle free check in and out. Very convenient to where I was working in Gordon Square, Bloomsbury and blessed by a 24 hour car park adjacent to the hotel itself and with shops very close. The room was without half of its secondary glazing which meant that it was particularly noisy due to the proximity of nearby pubs late at night into early morning. Reception acknowledged this aspect on departure but failed to offer an explanation for the absence of part of the system.
The hotel is very well located, close to tube stations. the room is small and facilities require renewing. some broken (faucet, door handle etc.). price is very high and is not a decent return for the money
The security arrangements were good - eg lift doesn't work to go to upper floors unless bedroom key card is inserted. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. I thought the bedrooms were rather small for a 4-star London hotel
Great room and food None
Room was clean and right next to the Russell square underground entrance. Room was small, wifi wasn't free and the room smelled, but in their defense we didn't ask to change rooms. Kind of pricy for a holiday inn.
Easy access of subway, restaurants&pubs and shopping center No fridge in the rooms so no possibility of drinking cold beverage
Proximity to underground and centre of London .yet quiet. This was a shopping trip so convenient for Oxford St and Marrlebone Road. Considering how small the room was, it was quiote well equipped. Double bed was so small. Asked if there was a room with larger bed, but told they were all the same size. Hotel was full so no option to change to two singles. Not good for anyone over 5ft 10 inches.
Excellent location Staff did not understand a small glass of wine and kept serving and charging for medium glasses
Great location for seeing the sights of central London. Quiet room, clean, good bathroom and friendly staff.
Perfect location for us: 5 minutes' walk from the function we were attending.
The staff were very efficient and friendly. The room was very fresh. The breakfast was reasonable, but the tea was awful!! Stewed!! Whatever happened to a fresh pot of tea for two??? Also, I don't know how it occurred, but my card was charged with amounts not applicable to me. I am waiting to find ouyt what happened,
Good location and parking easy given a smoking room as "standard" when clearly most people do not smoke and therefore non smoking should be "standard"
Can't say enough good things, from staff to room everything was great. Would and will stay there again. They will go out of there way to help you. Only downside if there is one is that the bathrooms are a bit small but I think that is a London thing. My son and his wife Stayed at a more expensive Boutique hotel and his bathroom was 1/3 the size. His room was half the size of ours.
None except location to meeting. Unhelpful staff and tried to fob me off with a single room when I booked a double, tv remotes held together with tape, grotty bathrooms, overpriced breakfast, faulty lifts and water leaks, very understaffed.
Location Completely overpriced for what you get. The room was small and felt poky. Windows placed so no real view. Can't open windows more than a small bit. Towels felt old. Room not made up till after 2 in the afternoon some days.
It was comfortable, conveniently located, and the staff were very welcoming. readingl ight was not the best I've ever seen: can be improved.
Good location,nice people,
still offer a room for Smokers which must be rare these days, room was good standard and in quiet location - no noisy traffic as can be experienced in the city.
Very good breakfast A bit pricey
Staff was great, location is great, and overall the place was clean and well-run. Professional. Wifi was terrible. I mean, really really bad. In 2016, it was pre-dial-up speeds. On this alone, I may consider another hotel next time.
Excellent location, not far from the tubes. Clean, comfortable and good value for central london. The gap in the curtains that let the light in at 6am!! but can't complain really...
Great location for my needs (arriving by train, leaving via Heathrow) Friendly competent staff. Clean comfortable rooom. Seems to be choice hotel for school tour groups. So I had to reprimand teens for socializing loudly in the hall.
Ability to leave early on Sunday morning Service, room size, steps to room, shower
I came for a quick overnight stay, conference related. Comfy bed, great access to tube, great bathroom and nice tub. Only thing: Ice machines for guests would be helpful
I chose it as I needed to be at St Pancras by 0800 the following morning, having had breakfast. Nearer B&Bs etc did not work. This was still too far away for me to walk with luggege (ineeded a taxi), but at least I had a breakfast.. See above. The dealy for a taxi was unacceptable. It was quicker to walk towards Euston. If there is a next time I shall plan accordingly.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is handy for getting out and about. It was quite noisy at times and the walls were 'thin' we could clearly hear the man next door using the telephone.
so near to the station
Excellent value for money. Stayed in a single room which was quite spacious (and could easily fit a full or queen bed). The hotel was recently renovated and the rooms as clean and modern, and the building is a stone throw away from Euston which makes it very conveniently located
Close to public transport Our room was located at the street side of the hotel on the first floor. Traffic sounds made it noisy and difficult to fall asleep.
it was freezing weather but the rooms were lovely and walm I didn't like the bed. We booked a double room but I think the bed was only 3/4 so for 2 large adults it was not comfortable. There was space to put a larger bed in the room if they did away with th coffee table which just got in the way.
The hotel is situated in an ideal position for easy access to Euston rail and tube station.
Nothing particular. Everything was not more than other normal hotels. Room was not cleaned when I came back in the evening. I had to wait long time in the reception. I felt total management was not working well. Room no58 only is located just next to service entrance and was cold.
Excellent location and very good buffet breakfast.
Very comfortable. Services and staff excellent Poor Tariff explanation. Also I specifically requested Non Smoking but on arrival was initially advised no such facility was available. The room was then upgraded to non smoking double- which was fine
The staff were polite and well turned out and the hotel looked great from the inside. Got the felling it was tips, tips tips. The food was not great, looked great but not nice.
The location and the comfort Some noise from other rooms
The rooms at executıve must be the best but not. The rooms were smelling dampness and bacteria.
Location and staff very good. Wifi was unreliable for business. Very bad
Coffe In the room Sistem was down when arrival Had to wait 1 hour.
The location of the Hotel against the underground lines. Take too long time to check in and out. To little staff at the main desk and not the correct attitude to customers.
We were welcomed from the beginning, we spent 4 days there and it was ideal for touring London. The staff was very helpful, especially Ryan and Vitail. Every thing was fine
entering the hotel.
they were able to hold our bags for us for 6 days while we traveled around Europe and then we came for back a final night there before heading out from Heathrow airport. We had booked 2 beds as we were 2 friends traveling together, upon check in, we were informed that there were only rooms with 1 bed available and that out reservation was just a "request" and not a guarantee. It was a king bed so we made it work. The rooms were tiny and stuffy. The A/C didn't work, and with the window open it was very noisy. They did bring up a fan for us and that helped.
Design, location Single room is very small
Convienent location. Very helpful staff. Decent value for money, recognizing that the pound is killing the dollar, making even the cheap hotels very expensive!
Ease of reach for meetings/business and entertainment
The continental breakfast was delicious, especially for London, the free wireless was convenient and the staff were truly looking after you. The room is too small. It is nearly dangerous to get into the bathtub while hoping over the toilet as they are so close together. Also, the water pressure varies thoughout your shower, as well as the temperature. That should get fixed!
Very comfortable bed and fabulous breakfast.
The hotel facilities were good.We had noty arranged our evening meal and ho[ped to get into the restaurant.Unfortunately we were not advised there was a private party. But there was great tapas on site:) I have nothihg to complain about.
Choice of mini bar/porridge We would have had a 2nd drink if the bar was more comfortable
Small room , expensive , not friendly staff they are looking for any chance to charge You for extra payments
The bar room staff were the most service oriented, offering suggestions on what they recommended to drink and eat. The cleaner walked in twice early in the morning around 7 am, once when I was in the bath, and then 1/2 later when I getting ready to go to breakfast.
I had booked a single room and was given a double room for the same rate. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great !
I liked being walking distance to soho, I liked the size of my room and I liked the library very much.
The hotel is just splendid, warm and aristocratic
The consierge were very helpful and found taxis and carried our bags. The rooms were spotless and newly reurbished.
The relaxed atmosphere, the quality of the surroundings and the attitude of the staff made it a very enjoyable stay I could find no obvious faults
Its location. 1 It took them ages to find my booking. I have forgotten to take with me the printout with my booking details. 2 The room I was given did not have airconditioning nor a safe despite the fact that in the profile of the hotel I found in the Bookings website these were specifically mentioned features. I had to upgrade and pay approx£20 plus vat per night more in order to get a room with these features.3 The way the staff dealt with my complaint as per 2 above was not very helpful at all nor did they accept that the information they provided your website was misleading.
In need of re decoration
Friendly service, excellent location, very quiet and clean room. An enjoyable stay, highly recommend it.
Staff very friendly. Based on the fact that sevceral of my colleagues stayed at the same hotel, price varied from £50 (including breakfast)up to over £70 which didn't include breakfast.
Hotel was clean and staff were good. Room was very hot - window was wide open when I arrived so i'm guessing this is a common problem, it remained open throughout my stay but with it being warm outside the room was very stuffy making sleep very difficult - Room desperately needs aircon
The 50% discount on the room rate made this a good experience for a short break, my expectations would've been different if i'd've paid the full rate. Silly price for breakfast, £17.50. Why do hotels do that. Save your money like me, by getting the same breakfast a few streets away for les than a third of the price.
Rooms were overly warm and street noise made it difficult to open windows. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and you wouldn't think you would need it after Nov. 1. Staff was reluctant to move us from our rooms and relocate us. We were there for 5 nights.
Ok location. Great for cooler months. NO AIR CONDITIONING.
excellent location for west end shows and exploring central london
Beds were very comfortable and the location unbeatable being walking distance from Oxford St, Covent Garden and theatres!
Location The hotel should provide till water everyday during guess visit
Location, very comfortable bed, nice view, nice room noise early in the morning, receotion staff not enough friendly, poor tourist i available at reception desk, no mini bar, poor room service menu
Very friendly helpful staff and central for shops, theatres places to eat, which all add up to a very relaxing break.
Great location. Mattress sank in the middle. Bad for lower back. WiFi was not free if reservation was not made directly with hotel. Why charge for this when customer has already paid a lot for the room?
Freindly staff and good location close to west end.
location great for restaurants difficult to black out room at night
Central location. Cleanliness Staff were a little unhelpful about an early checkin even though we had a reservation at a restaurant for lunch. We first arrived at 11:30am but no rooms were ready so we came back again at 1:20pm. They seemed very un sympathetic to our plight. We had to change in the toilets in the end (which they were aware of) rather than them make an effort to allow us get a room a little earlier.
It is very central for Theatres, Shops and restuarants. Our room 410 is in need of a re-furb---particularly the bathroom.
The service was beginning to end. Best free lemonade ever! good location with access to The Underground.
Close to all attractions, lovely and quiet, very clean, nice staff
The best affortable hotel in London in my opinion. Perfect location to visit and shop. Free wifi in the rooms. Rooms are small but so cosy.
EVERY member of the staff is incredibly warm, congenial and helpful. The location is excellent. It is a beautiful property. This was our second visit. Very predictable, no surprises. The recent redecorating erased much of the very English flavor. The addition of the Cigar Bar proves to be unpleasant as the smell reaches the drawing room near lobby and dining room.
This hotel was simply excellent!
Excellent location. Tiny but cozy room with a good noice reduction. Small size of rooms.
What a gem of a hotel a superb find. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed we felt special. The staff were outstanding, their eye for detail the friendliness. We own a group of companies employing many people and was well impressed with the high standard that was set.Needless to say we will return and recomend this hotel.well done staff Yes.We didnt stop for more than two nights
Quality of staff rooms too small
very friendly and helpful staff. room was very nicely decorated and excellent facilities
Excellent location: quiet street, but walking distance from British Museum, West-End Theatres, Soho, and even the City highlights. Staff are most friendly and customer-oriented! We experienced a nightly fire-alarm, which wasn't fun, but there was no fire in the end, and the staff handled this very well! Good restaurant, fine wine list. Rooms are nicely decorated, but small. Breakfast far too expensive!
We were upgraded to a really excellent room.
the rooms are well designed and very clean, the showers are hot & powerful and breakfast is fresh and satisfying. location is great for oxford street and soho nothing
The hotel is very convenient and well-located, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Free wireless internet is a big plus for me. The street is charming. The rooms are small and the whole place feels a bit run down. The carpets could really use a cleaning. The breakfast room is cramped and unpleasant. For North Americans travelers, it's a bit of a shock to see what you get for your money when it comes to London hotels.
Reception staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, rooms very clean tidy and comfortable, dining room for breakfast very clean, good choice of food and good service. Hotel was also in excellent location, easy access from Tube and close to many major attractions.
Location was perfect. Breakfast was great. Had been told in the beginning that rooms in UK were small so I wasn't disappointed. Also, being an old building/hotel, I thought the maintenance was fine. There was nothing I didn't 'like', it's more it was difficult to adjust to not being able to use hair dryers in the bathroom. Would have been nice if the place had an elevator too, especially taking luggage up/down a spiral staircase.
The airconditioning in the room the excellent bed the service of the staff nothing; back in London I wil stay there again
Location good, rooms tatsefull although attric room a litlle cramped. Hallways a little worn, breakfast service slighly rushed. Taffif rate inappropraite for style of hotel- discount rate aid was fine.
Location for city also tube stations, good restaurents, bars shops and theatres nearby We were staying on 3rd. floor only accessable by stairs no staff available to assist us with luggage
The location is very good; central but still quiet. Comfortable room and a good breakfast. Nothing.
The room was well maintained and comfortable. Good breakfast. The room was facing with Gower Street and the traffic noise was a little annoying.
No Hot Water until 1730 !
Location, Cleanliness, Friendliness No
Breakfast was good value.
Location -we were travelling from Euston station
The hotel is located very near to Euston Station which makes it ideal for business or city break. There's no free internet and you cannot use your BTOpenzone account there. However if you walk to the Thistle, 50m up the road, you can use BTOpenzone and it's fast.
Quiet room No hairdrier supplied in room. Shower gel empty
the proximity to the public transport services. The cleanness of the premises. The smiles on the staff's faces. a hairdryer in the bathroom will be convenient as well as a beberages dispenser machine at each floor.
Clean and functional Overheated room
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was excellent value for what we paid. The new shower room within the suite was amazing.
The bar and restaurant were a pleasant surprise in a low cost hotel We should have put out the sign asking not to be disturbed as house keeping staff knocked on the door at 8am and continued to knock every half hour/45 mins until we checked out - but it was our fault.
Clean, warm and self-contained, good television. Nothing really, but it would be great to have a shower cap in the bathroom!
the breakfast and the newspapers
