convenient location for transport links and city more effective double glazing is needed to reduce traffic noise
Location - perfect for a London weekend Breakfast was outstanding US outlets Quiet
Very close to trains, tubes and some shops. Room clean and big. Would stay again. Staff very friendly and helpful. Booked a twin room but ended up with a king size bed not sure where booking mix-up happened, just watch for that.
Clean, comfortable, well organised.
Superb hotel for decor, great location for seeing and gettng around london due to its 2 min walk from the tube, would definately stay there again!
Location near Victoria Station. Nice and clean rooms. Modern and functional. Personell of the reception desk are nice and polite, but less effective and lack the entusiasm to follow up on problems. We bought the plaza plus package, but did not get a newspaper before asking twice. Never got comlementary chocolate in the room, only got on set of bath robe for a double room etc. Although staff promissed to correct these errors, it never happend. Finally we gave up and did not bother to ask again.
The hotel was literally a stones throw from the Apollo Theatre and Victoria station. Was clean and the staff were helpful.
they were very nice. gave us a room upgrade and breakfast. vey good value and the room was in good condition. much better than all other hotels I have stayed in in London except the dorchester which is correspondingly expensive!
Location. Comfort of bed. Good check in Not having the executive lounge facilities pointed out to me so i wasn't able to make use. Room carpet wasn't clean and bathroom could have been cleaner.
this is a fine hotel in a good location. the room i stayed in was massive, the bathroom was terrific....deffinitely recommend it to anyone the food, and health suite(massage etc) were quite expensive and beware the fridge, it is charged automatically once you remove anything from it....
they were very accommodating to our needs. we arrived before there was a room available and they took our luggage and stored it for us and then upgraded our room when we came back several hours later to officially check in. Extremely friendly hotel personnel. lovey décor and enjoyed the lobby bar and wait staff there. we thought our room was very clean and the linens and hygiene products first rate. also very upscale.
It was close to tourist attractions.
For the price, very good. The room was very small and the wifi signal was poor. Breakfast was okay. TV didnt work, bed uncomfortable, and breakfast was sparse.
Nothing others people underwear on my room, i hate this hotel
Nothing It was dirty, the service was very poor.
nothing everything didnt get cooked b/fast i payed extra for dirty old shabby horrible
Great location, good price, dining room. Good place for backpackers and everyone who needs a place to sleep and does not expect much more .The place we had was definitely not the one form the picture. Even though there were two working radiators it was freezing and we had to sleep in sweaters.
needs upgrading a lot more
friendly staff, breakfast no smoking rooms, no fridge in room
comfy beds nice and quite friendly staff
nothing the room was terrible - three persons in the room which has about 9m2, no wardrobe, no table, no chair, only 2 hangers after our complaint they for the next days gave us another room I never go to his hotel, I never recommend this hotel!!!
Good Locations for city holiday near Metro and bus stations. breakfast need little bit variations.
Much of what you read in these reviews is true: this is a pretty run-down place. But what shocked me was the price: 52 pound for a minuscule room with no comforts etc. etc. is really expensive!
I liked the bed, cleansheets etc,I liked the tea and offee The bathroom
Good location near the Victoria Station and a neighbourhood with some really nice pubs. The breakfast wasn't great and the room was small.
Location excelent, staff very nice, price/quality good, very cosy too many stairs
GREAT LOCATION NO ELEVATOR !! GOT PUT ON THE TOP FLOOR - HAD TO CLIMB 8 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS WITH ALL OUR LUGGAGE - UGGGH!
Great locations, wi-fi, value for money. Clean service, very poor. Breakfast average, a bit crowded.
Really close to Victoria Station! Hotel under construction, but that meant beautiful brand new bathrooms with 2 different shower heads)! Complimentary breakfast (cereal, meat, rolls, yogurt, cheese). Attentive staff. The day I checked in I found dark hair on the bathroom floor and they were quick to send somebody up to re-clean immediately. They let me store my luggage for a few hours on my last day with no charge! Yes there were no elevators, but I liked the old-world charm of the place. I stayed on the top floor, so my room had a slanted wall from the attic. It was a super cute room perfect for a solo traveler. Still going through construction/upgrades. At breakfast there was a woman who would just watch you eat. She'd leave every few minutes, but she was always hovering nearby. I'm sure she was there just to keep it clean or restock but it made feel uncomfortable. My only big complaint is that I told them on my first night that I didn't require room cleaning during the duration of my stay (3 nights), but every day there'd be a knock on my door...multiple times. The first day 2 different people tried to knock and come clean for a total of 6 times. On the second day, the third time someone came to clean they just let themselves in without knocking! Each time they would come by I would politely remind them that I did NOT want cleaning service, and yet they kept trying to come back throughout the day. I'm not comfortable having people in my room while I'm not there and so I felt uneasy leaving the room during cleaning hours.
Close to Victoria Coach Station. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff (E.G. looking after my bag while I was out). Very basic breakfast.
Location far from victoria station
Good value for money. Friendly staff. The room was cold.
Very good location and friendly staff. Too small a room without any space to hang your clothes or to move around.
Great shower, clean bathroom. Good breakfast. Spring broken in mattress. Window didn't stay open. Bedroom door wouldn't open all the way.
Staff are very sincere hardworking people who do everything they can to help you. Room is clean, freshly painted, new beds, clean carpet, clean tiled bathroom. Location near Victoria Street Station is excellent. As with all these Victorian houses, floors are made from wood so you hear some bonk-bonking from other guests when they walk the stairs/corridor. For me no problem, it felt a bit home-like!
The suite was exellent, the management and staff could not help us enough
central location. excelent shower room too small and tucked away at back of hotel
Friendly staff, clean and confortable Basement room, bathroom had no heating and was cold. Shower tray was not draining correctly
Great lobby with nice design and friendly staff. The fact that they first tried to put me in a room... in another building..... with a different hotel name.
Very nicely furnished, nice bathrooms. Basic amenities, overall very comfortable The beds were very uncomfortable, and the mattresses felt cheap.
Nice area. Boutique shops nearby and handy for Victoria Station Some staff very friendly others unhelpful.
It was warm and provided shelter Very poor room in the basement - it was dark and very basic.
The service and staff were excellent, the position of the hotel is great all in all a nice set up.
Booked a twin room, 2 weeks in advance. On arrival, was presented with room with only one double bed. After talking to reception, the best they could do was add a fold away cot for my 42 yr old daughter. Thus, room was too small for both beds. We were disappointed.
The room decor was contemporary and tasteful, flat screen tv and great bathroom adds to the luxury. We needed to be close to Victoria station and this hotels location was perfect, quiet at night to maximise a restful night but only five minutes walk from lots of good bars cafes and restaurants. We only met one member of reception staff who was very pleasant and helpful. There were no other reviews on the web for this hotel so we went in 'blind', I emailed the hotel before our arrival but got no reply. It wasn't a huge room but unless you want to pay a fortune that's par for the course in cities like London. There was no hot breakfast available but we were offered complimentary continental breakfast by way of compensation
Location to Victoria Station. Good for flying in/out London via Gatwick. the overall Decor was nice.Free wireless and wired internet. Staircases going up and down, depsite on the same floor. My room has a small narrow staircase going up to the bathroom. and difficult to drag luggage around to get to my room due to those up and down stairs on 1st floor. No blinds/curtains at one of my window. feel a bit insecure. One of the reception staff was a big grumpy looking although she can be helpful, but just not very friendly. Front desk service not quite a 4-5 stars level
The service was excellent. We never left the building or returned to our room without a staff member greeting us with a friendly smile and kind words. The room(s) were a great set-up for a family and allowed comfort and space for a reasonable price. The location was convenient for all site-seeing and public transportation.
Wonderful hotel in so many ways; location, expansive and luxurious accommodations, service. We booked a junior suite, but were graciously upgraded to a one bedroom suite. We had so much room! As for value, other 5 star hotels cost as much or more ,but only offered a small room. Don't hesitate to book this hotel for a unique and outstanding experience. No complaints at all. Excellent in all areas.
The design Extremely rude staff
The staffs personal attention to our needs during our stay. It made our stay very pleasent.
The staff and venue was beyond excellent!
It is very bad, noisy and old hotel it was same 2 star or B&B
Very comfortable , well equipped with excellent friendly and obliging staff.
5 star facilities, superb service. Spacious apartments. Extremely hospitable staff. Price is commensurate to 5-star status.
Staff, Quiet Room Complicated Payment procedure, inflexible invoicing, staff was not able to put the correct invoice adress.
the friendly professional staff. I was given an upgrade which I appreciated not that I needed a 2 bedroom suite as I was on my own. there was nothing that I didn't like.
Staff went out of their way to provide prompt and courteous service. The location is right across the street form a major train station and access to Circle and District subway lines. Rooms were modern and clean. Breakfast was ... expansive... the classic British breakfast. The restaurant and bar were comfortable. The concierge gave us a great tip to a nice Indian restaurant within easy walking distance. Frosted glass door on the bathroom means that if you turn on the bathroom light in middle of the night you wake up your partner as well.
Pleasant atmosphere with polite helpful staff, bright and pleasant reception area, room light and cheerful.
quick check in and rooms clean and with goodfacilities Could be noisy as adjacent to railway station
The location was very good for many local attractions A little noisy ouitside, but hey what can you expect next to a train station?
The location is excellent for speedy access to the main attractions in London. The room was a good size. When we arrived (at about 4pm) there were no quiet double rooms left unless we upgraded, which I thought was poor. The pillows were much too big for me. I tried ringing reception to see if there were alternatives; I held on for ages but the phone was never answered. In the end I phoned room service and they sorted me out. The room was far too warm and the air conditioning did not sufficiently cool it. At reception they told me that the weather had been unusually warm which had taken them by suprise, but in my view they should have been able to sort it out. The breakfast is good but extremenly expensive; I would have liked fresh brown bread.
Near Central London, and close to Chelsea and cadogan Hall (concert) The price - too expensive
nothing particullary the electricity plug for shaver was out of order
Clean room, pleasant attentive staff, extensive breakfast buffet. Crossing the street to get to the taxi stand can be hazardous
Excellent location which why we had booked again Very small room considering what we paid, we previously considered the hotel good value but not anymore, we even had breakfasts at Victoria as the prices for that were prohibitive.
Central location. Hotel looked great and the room was very clean, spacious and had lots of facilities- iron/tea/coffee/sports channels/trouser press/ shower and bath/fridge/air con apart from our fridge not working and we could not get our heating to work it was all great
Location, cleanliness, breakfast selection, room. wifi not included in rooms.
Sasha the bartender was great as were all the other staff that we met. Everyone was extremely friendly and made our stay very enjoyable.
we'll be back- fantaastic position- best London hotel we have stayed in. being asked to pay for internet access
Hotel staff was very friendly , checking in and out was very easy
Location, near tube station and yet accessable to Westminister, Buckingham Palace, London Eye and other tourist sights on foot.Room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom could do with updating. No complaints
Our room had a balcony overlooking the impressive courtyard and was well equipped and prepared. Check in and out was effortless and staff were friendly and well informed.
Central location, impressive lobby, excellent choice of breakfast items Room was small in size and the bathroom was impossible to navigate if there was more than one of you or if bigger than a size 18! It mcant have measured more than 1.5m x 1.5m and was only really handy if you needed to use the toilet and sink at the same time. The room 681 was miles away from the lifts and instead you had to cross the courtyard whenever you wanted to leave the hotel or go to reception - not ideal when it's raining.
Friendly, helpful staff. Pleasantly surprised by size of room
Hotel was serene and quite, received an upgrade to junior suite which was extremely spacious and comfortable. No hotel shuttle is available tom transport guests to Victoria station.
Nice and quiet, relaxed atmosphere Room very warn dispite air conditioning
They ask me to pay for internet acces, but the problem was solved.
Room appearance very poor, furniture needs replaced, bathroom sink cracked and dirty appearance, constant noise from announcements from station!
Excellent location especially if you know nothing about London. My 7th floor room was quiet and great for sleeping in. You can walk to many tourist locations. We had a great time. The breakfast was the exact same food every day
Location is very convenient. Hotel staff is good. The restaurant offer is quite large, good and inexpensive. The rooms (carpet, furniture, bathroom facilities) looked old and worn-out.
helpful and friendly staff
Excellent location. Room was very dated and basic.
Old-style luxury hotel with modern comfort Nothing to dislike
Checking in was very smooth. The mattress was very, very soft. So much so if you sat on the end of the bed you could quite easily have rolled off!
Location is great if you need a train to Gatwick. Also for acces to sights in London. Staff we helpful and it was a nice stay,
Convienence toilet facilities only just acceptable
Clean room and good hotel location
Low cost Internet system was out, satalite television was not functioning, and thin walls so very noisy.
The proximity to Victoria coach station and bus links. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. The toilet and washing facilities were cramped. The washing basin was chipped and spotty. Worst of all was the sound proof. We could hear people talking next door and tv noises. Our next door neighbours had the tv on until 3.30 in the morning and switched on again at 6.30 a.m.
The comfort of the beds, the showers, and the full English breakfast. No air-conditioning
The English Breakfast
it was conveninet to Victoria, breakfast satisfactory nearest toilet on floor below, nearest shower two floors above and it took 3 efforts to get correct directions to these facilites from staff, very poor facilities, hotel needing serious upgrade
service no fan in room
The location was excellent - very close to Victoria Station - easy walking distance even with baggage! Climbing the stairs with baggage was difficult.
location close to Victoria bus station
the location- very close to Victoria Coach Station and Subway no particular aspect
within walking distance to Victoria station, quiet road. Acceptable for one night. rooms are very small, difficult to adjust room temperature. Small breakfast buffet, choosing english breakfast is the better choice, although I have to admit that I had better ones.
The staff at reception was very helpful and kind. Has good attention to details. I was a lone traveller and and went for breakfast as it was included in the total price. However, I was not served by the staff and only had cereals. I did not go for breakfast again the next morning.
Room and en-suite comfort and cleanlines Public areas rather tired. difficult to get to by public transport.
Its indeed very clean and well ruled place, with excellent staff and good athmosphere. Good location - short walk from Victoria station - and not too noisy street.I really enjoyed my stay in compare to my previous experience with such kind of hotels in central London.Warmly suggested. Indeed - for my test and experience everything was just excellent for such kind of hotel, location and price.
Location, friendly staff
Located very near to Victoria Station. Very kind and profesional staff
Staff was always very courteous and helpful. I brought my laptop from overseas and the internet signals were too weak for me to work in my room. There was a public computer available, but it was in the dining area.
Surprisingly quiet during the night (slept with open window), good outfitted, updated and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff, business hotel with a family atmosphere, location very close to Victoria station (5 min walk) but away from the mass hotels at Belgrave Rd, nice neighborhood feel
Excellent service by the reception staff, very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast.
Hospitality of the staff
Nice hotel, well run and with friendly staff No lift! Had to haul our luggage up to our third floor room. Also, no minibar/fridge.
it is good no
Clean room We thought the shower area was very cramped.
Good value for money for a London hotel. The location is good and the rooms are small but clean. The rooms are small. The breakfast is basic. Nothing to catch the eye but it is good for the money you pay(London hotel??)
The location. Near Victoria Station. A street packed with coffe-shops and restaurants. The room for 85 pounds!!!!, The room was tiny and old. The beds, uncomfortable. It was not that clean either being so old and ill-mantained. Very noisy, too, due to old windows and thin walls.
location very basic
The location. Everything. It was a very run down and dirty hotel. The bedroom carpet was digusting, I didn't want to walk on it in bare feet. The shower "room" was like a pod with a curtain. Breakfast choice was very limited, basically cereal and toast (not continental). Wifi was supposed to be £1.00 per hour but turned out to be £8.00 per day.
Very good location, and friendly staff. Poor water pressure in shower
reception 24 hours fairly friendly (1) wifi didn't work well enough - very slow web browsing, not able to check emails (2) very thin walls - could help people running or walking fast, upstairs and outside, doors banging
Easy to get to location. Ensuite bathroom. n/a
When i arrived the sink in the bathroom was leaking and the staff had it fixed quickly, also 24hour reception so you could go out in the evening rooms were quite small and even with the window open it got quite hot, a fan or AC would be an idea
it was not in the centre of london but still close enough to all the theatres which is why we were in london the bathroom was like a tardis and my wife and myself are not exactly small. this needs to be highlighted. and the breakfast was awful, foe a hotel with such high standards it was a shame that they offered powdered scrambbled egg and tinned mushrooms
we enjoyed being able to come back and have a coffe or a beer at the little bar area. hours for the breakfast
The is about 5 minutes walking from victoria station! is near everything. The hotel was perfect
room was clean, beds were comfy, reception staff very helpful, good location. Room was next to service sfaff utilities, very noisy in the morning, breakfast chaos trying to get served and seated.
The hotel has been refurbished since i last stayed and the standard was amazing! i was thrilled with the high quality of the beds, and new furnishings throughout the hotel. The staff were great and my room was huge! I would definitely use again and recommend for value for money quality.
The room was nice! Breakfast was poor and had short opening hours.
Even though my room was next to alift and faced the main road I give this hotel 10/10. It was my first positive experience at staying in a London hotel and great value for the money...Would go back again. I did not stay longer?
It was value for money as for location, next to victoria, that was all.. The room I disagree as we had many issues with cleanliness of the room, peeling wallpaper, noise from outside which upset our sleeping with the very busy road and lack of double glazing which could solve the issue, the curtain was also dirty due to the window which was allowing in cold air. The noise from the neighbours was unbareable and we were awaken many times but this was a social problem. Lack of sky channels, we had one channel. The room size would be perfect for a single buisnessman, not two people on a short break.
location to victoria station very crammed room
Good location in a good area, within walking distance to major landmarks and transportation. Wifi was useless. Room and bathroom were very small for the price.
The hotel is located in a very central location, only a short walk from the Victoria station. I was able to walk to my business meeting, which was nice. Internet was included. The speed seemed variable. The bathroom was completely renovated, albeit small. The continental breakfast was good and the staff at breakfast were very friendly. As is the case with any budget London hotel, the room was very small. The bed extends right to the computer desk, so I had to sit on the desk to work on the computer. With my luggage in the room, there wasn't a lot space to move around. I had a room overlooking the street and it was fairly loud. I used ear plugs to be able to sleep and recommend them if you plan to stay here!
Friendly helpful staff at reception. A large clean well furnished room. Good value for money and at the price, one of the better ones I have stayed in this year. Room 109, although pleasant and clean and well furnished, was situated on street level and outside of the lift. There was cosiderable noise at times from other hotel guests using the lift and from public on the outside pavement. The reviews about the small bathroom/shower facilities were true to life but not an issue for me.
Our room was situated at the back of the hotel and was so quiet - no traffic noise at all. Room was very small
central position, cleanness very, very small room, everything had to remain in luggages :-(
Good location, not expensive. Good breakfast. Do not use the internet on lobby, it will only take your money and won't help with real surfing, just rubbish publicity.
good location - clean room plus small shower room stain on blanket - dirty towels outside room
Basic, clean and functional. The bathroom was not brilliant, an installed wet room with no lock on the door and the shower was not good. Hot water went off for a short period. I was told that this is usual if a lot of people in the hotel use the showers at the same time. In the Midlands this would classed as a Bed & Breakfast, not a hotel. The bathroom was far too basic considering the money paid for the room, even for London.
Nice location - near Victoria Station The bathroom was the smallest bathroom I've ever seen, no joke, like 3 foot by 3 foot; you were basically in the shower if you were on the toilet. There was just a curtain for the shower, not like an actual shower that you step into. But it was doable for the situation.
Good location. The room was clean but the window would not close properly, the bathroomwas not fit to be used by a family its size was tiny. The breakfast facilities were not big enough and turned into a joke when the toaster broke down and the fire alarm was activated.
I was given a quiet room at the back of the hotel with all that I needed. It was clean & comfortable. Breakfast good & plentiful. The breakfast room could have been larger and the servery very congested.
Good location for my visit and good value for London. Basic but quite adequate for what we wanted. Nothing.
the location of the hotel - near victoria station too many doors
Value for money, accessible location. Room was far too hot and too noisy
Clean rooms and really good location for sights seengs and to get anywhere. After 10pm it is imposiible to have a supper anywhere around. Some of stuff had "broken" english.
I like the staff and the service and clean rooms. I dont like the breakfast it was in a wery small room and it was dificult to find a place to sit.
The staff very efficient also friendly and very helpful. Although unavailable on my booking they did change my double room to a triple on the day without further cost. Rooms were good and I would probably use them again. No hot food available, no iron in room
We liked a lot. And I think that we ll come back next year. -
It was simple, but clean. Nice for one night.
Very clean rooms, kind staff, good breakfast and excellent service. nothing to say.
Closeness to Victoria Coach and Rail Stations, ideal location and good quality clean and friendly accommodation. Beds in particular excellent. This is only a small criticism and that is insufficient room at breakfast when hotel obviously full.
The hotel is very convenient for Victoria Station and is also very close to Buckingham Palace.
