Top tips for finding cheap flights to Canada

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Canada flight deals.
  • Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is the largest and busiest airport in Canada, due to the fact that it’s situated in Canada’s capital city. It receives most of the flights from the U.S.
  • If you are looking to experience the western heritage and culture of Canada, consider flying to Calgary International Airport (YYC). It is near the Calgary city center, which hosts special cultural events such as the Calgary Stampede.
  • The temperatures at the YYZ run from mild to very cold. You are advised to consider carrying a blanket or even a sleeping bag for those who will sleep at the airport, to keep yourself warm. A hoodie provides extra warmth if the terminals at the airport get even colder.
  • Flying to Calgary International Airport should be considered by those who are looking to visit a place that is away from busy towns. YYC has two terminals and five concourses. The airport also features warehouses for cargo handling and other infrastructure.
  • Most of the airlines flying from the U.S. to Canada fly nonstop. Some of the airlines that offer nonstop flights are Air Canada, WestJet, and United Airlines.
  • US citizens need nothing more than a valid passport, credit card and email address in order to enter Canada. Foreign nationals of the British Commonwealth may also not require a visa but all others intending to take a flight from the US to Canada should check whether or not one is required.
  • The Canadian province of Ontario shares more boundary with its southern neighbor than any other and has four international airports accepting flights from the United States. One of them is in the Canadian capital Ottawa (Macdonald-Cartier Airport -YOW) and three are in Toronto: Toronto Hamilton (YHM), Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Toronto Island (YTZ).
  • British Columbia marks the Pacific coast of mainland Canada and its main international airport, Vancouver Airport (YVR), is the major point of entry to the province as well as the Yukon region to the north. It is also the hub for all US flights from Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Seattle (SEA).
  • Calgary Airport (YYC) serves the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan to the east and there are nonstop flights from Denver Airport (DEN) via Frontier Airways. If you’re planning on visiting the Northwest Territories to the north, then its best to get a connecting flight to Fort McMurray Airport (YMM) or Yellowknife Airport (YZF).
  • Quebec is the largest province on the Canadian east coast. If you fly into Ottawa Airport, then you are a short drive from the major cities of Montreal and Quebec City, which in turn open up the provinces of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, the eastern boundaries of Canada.

Flight was 3 hours late so only had an OK experience

It was very cold because the air conditioner was on high power, and my son got sick.

3 hours late and all they have is was a $12 meal voucher. That’s not even enough to cover fast food.

Among the poorest flights I’ve had with Delta in a while. Entertainment system failed completely on a 7.5 hr flight. Crew seemed distracted and not the normal friendly crew. Flight overbooked it seemed… very crowded.

If I can, I always fly Delta. I’ve found their service to always be reliable and pleasant.

You could have not cancelled the flight (AA, which I will be flying from now on) left for BOS despite the fictitious weather issues (that no one in my Boston family could see). You could have rebooked my direct flight to another direct flight instead of sending me though JFK, the worst US airport after O’Hara You could have rebooked me on a Main Cabin seat (like the one I paid for in my original ticket instead of putting me a the last row on JFK->BOS leg, pocketing the difference in ticket price But I do not really care whether you will ever do that in a future because in a future neither I nor anyone from my company (unless they pay out of pocket) nor an of my clients and partners (if they heed my advice) will ever be caught dead on any of Delta flights

Really bad baggage handling. Had my Rimowa bag badly damaged at the latches.

It was pretty good I was worried with the short Layover that I might not catch my connection but the gate was there

It was good until there was a 3 hour delay because there was not any pilots to fly the plane.

There was plenty of overhead room but half of the passengers were told they had to check their carryon bags. My partner and I checked in as early as possible and our seats were split across the aisle.

Wish we had music during take off and landing like the last flight

First time with Porter and I can say this is best airline company in Canada. Great service, free WiFi, free snack and drinks (including beer and wine). Seats were super comfy on the Embraer jet and I appreciated the folding try table too. Staff were excellent both legs of the trip.

Crew is ok. They offered food n drinks. Had difficulty connecting to wifi on board.

Tight transfer in Montreal. (15 min) However, we made it, as did my luggage.

Great. Porter is very efficient, welcoming, and organized. I fly Porter often.

Flight was smooth and comfortable. The crew were exceptional. Amanda, Nichole and Hershel were attentive to our every need. So friendly. My daughter and I were surprised at quality of service. Loved the double row seating. Snacks were delicious. We would definitely fly with Porter again. Flight PD 670 SFO to YYZ Thank you so much for the best flight experience we have had

The E195-E2 is a great aircraft! Leather seats, lots of legroom and SO quiet! The flight crew is terrific!

Check in was slow because of passenger ahead in Reserve line. Seats were somewhat uncomfortable.

Delayed by 2.5 hours. This happened previously on my flight from YOW to YVR on Dec. 26.2023. This is a terrible airline. The reason was there was lack of ground crew. This is a known event. AVOID PORTER AIRLINES IF YOU CAN. There is a reason half the plane was empty.

Flight delayed 6 hr. Looking for compensation and will claim for it.allow US people to fix to avoid huge delay having a canadian tech to fix it.

Flight was on time… crew normal experience… captain was informative. Boarding at the gate had a bit chaotic ,but overall, it was an enjoyable full flight and I thank you as it was my first time flying Westjet and I will do it again. Regards

Generally poor experience with excessive luggage fees. Plane seats were very uncomfortable. Flight did not take off on time, however arrived on time. Boarding seems very inefficient.

They lost our luggage and didn’t return it until 15 days AFTER we got back.

food worker strike caused lack of service. I know, not your fault but a bit of a inconvenience.

The staff on the WestJet flight were friendly and helpful. The flight was smooth and we arrived 30 minutes ahead of time.

The on time performance and the ease of boarding are great. The crew were cordial. During landing the pilot made a hard landing with some swerve that was a bit rough but other than that everything else is as smooth as it can be.

Horrible, flight on the way to Vegas was delayed significantly and then on my way back my second flight was cancelled

If they have a tv for movie or map during 5h flight could be better and the food can purchase on flight are ok with that.

We requested 2 wheel chairs upon arrival. On board an attendant told us to remain in our seats until everyone was off the plane. we were in row 11 and thought we would be off early. After all were off, a different attendant said we should leave, and that the chairs were gone. One was available for my friend who had just spent 9 days in hospital but I had to walk quite some distance. Eventually a cart arrived to take us the rest of the way. This was over an hour after our arrival. The staff at the terminal did their best to help us but if we had been allowed off with the other passengers, our ride home would have been an hour earlier.

Our flight experience was great! Flight staff was funny and offered great service. Made record flying time coming home from Vegas after having to wait for planes on the tarmac because of high winds

Was 4 1/2 hours delayed. No food options, poor entertainment and cramped seats made worse by people in front reclining while we could not as in back row.

The baggage handlers broke the handle on my bag that they put under the plane that I checked on the jetway. They traded it out for a less quality bag in Tulsa. But, they said they would try to fix it. Bologna! There was no fixing that bag handle. Someone didn’t care how they treated the bag.

Frankfurt airport is the worst. Passengers are forced to use stairs to get to the terminal or catch a shuttle. Very inconvenient for passengers who are ambulatory challenged or have physical handicaps.

The entertainment wasn’t playing in the app or online.

Lady was a bit rude during boarding and I was being nice to her.

Why does it have to be painful to fly long distances?

It is a modern tragedy that any airline expects you to travel for 14 hours in such discomfort and that the only way to add comfort is exorbitant prices. I was in pain by the time we landed. Shameful.

Original plane sidelined. Had to wait an hour for replacement.

Crew was very cooperative and professional. Passenger's first checked in bag should be free.

No real agent onsite helping you for missing luggage there. Not like the other airline next to UA desk, they have staff attending in their desk assisting answer/helping luggage issue, even after midnight.

I was at Chicago early and I should have been able to check in when I got there instead of having to wait 8 hours later to check in. I don’t like air Canada

I was unaware I was booking the basic economy flight and had to spend an extra $125 for baggage plus $100 for seat selection. There was also no opportunity to upgrade into a different ticket type. The seats were very cramped and mine wouldn’t stay reclined

We did not take this trip !! I told Air Canada months ago to cancel this reservation . But , since they offered no rebate or a way to save credits everything was a loss . Why they continued to contact me about check in , etc . I will never understand!!

There wasn't even a screen on the seat for An almost 4 hours flight and they gave us water.....that's it. And for the record, it wasn't cheap

Not great tremendous delays instead of arriving at 8:15 pm arrived at 2:30 am next day no food gate changes. Etc

There was a mistake with the first name we only discovered at security. Air canada was unable to correct it to match then passport since it was booked through an agency. The agency could not correct it either since they need at least two hours to do that. We could not fly and lost a bunch of money. Learned my lesson about kayak.

My flight got canceled. Then AC rebooked me to a next day flight. No compensation no apology. It almost messed up my entire trip and schedule. However, all the unexpepected seems routine and ordinary to AC, so customers need to get used to.

The food was horrible the flying attendance hardly made any checks and the seats were very tied ..

I love air Canada. The staff is so helpful and friendly and attentive. I paid for extra room but chose a ser near a person who took up a lot of space which gave me less space than regular economy, I was sad I did that!

For such a long flight they should offer tea or coffee in between two meals.
