The location, courtious and helpful staff and cleanlness
was a nice location, staff was very friendly and it was a good value for the money parking was a bit tough, hotel is still undergoing major construction, no windows to see outside of the hotel
It was close to the French Quarter and an easy walk. Our room was located close to the freight elevator and was very smoky smelling constantly, as was the computer room.
Comfortable rooms; well-located near French Quarter but not in Quarter (which means it was quiet!); excellent front desk staff Very few facilities; room cleaning staff were good but didn't start doing rooms until after noon;
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I prefer more modern; the rooms are worn and old; there was also a smell of bug spray; the non smoking room had ash trays and the smell of smoke.
The parking is horrible, you should have valet parking.
Close to all....
We wen to nola for voodoo, couldn't have had a better time. So close to Bourbon, it was awesome, be back next year!
Closeness to French Quarter
The beds were super comfortable. The staff was very friendly (Terri at front desk) and Bellhop was very helpful with Taxi's and our luggage. )Sorry I didn't get his name) There wasn't any menus for delivery in the rooms. Reccomend Cajon Mike's on Baronne
Absolutely fantastic!!! Will definitely come back. Beautiful old house, very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you Tom, Patricia and Michael!
The host, the breakfast and the overall atmosphere
Great people, incredible hospitality. Very good choice also for business traveller as an alternative to very boring big hotels.
This is an excellent B& B and Tom is the perfect host. His recommendations were all perfect. Breakfast was delicious every day and the wine, beer and cheese on Friday and Saturday evenings was very pleasant.
Very friendly and helpful
Relaxed atmosphere but highly professional. Hosts could not have been more hospitable.
Tom, the host was amazing. the place was beautiful and extremely convenient.
As soon as you walk in the door they treat you like family and also they hand you an adult beverage very nice to come off a long drive to such a relaxing place it feels just like home was an amazing bed and breakfast Nothing
simply superb, nice visual, great staff, very comfortable, nearby the points of interest. ...and a great summer deal for the rooms nothing...but the parking was a bit awkward, even with the valet. but not terrible
The helped helped secure my motorcycle in a safe place during my stay. It meant a lot to me!
The hotel felt very French, romantic, and quaint. It was in a perfect location and within walking distance to the wedding we were attending that night. The rooms were cozy and the balcony was nice. Somehow my reservation was saved under the name "Judith" (not sure if this was a mistake on Kayak's end, or the hotel's), and the staff treated me as if I had done something wrong. My name is not/has never been/isn't even close to Judith, so there's no way I accidentally gave them the wrong name. I entered the hotel to check in with the three friends who were also in the room, and they couldn't find the reservation and I had to ask "ok so what do I do?" and they told me to call whoever I booked the reservation through. The woman at the desk was rude and unhelpful overall, and finally, after we got the whole thing sorted out she noticed that the reservation had been made for two people instead of four (all four of us were standing at the desk) and she proceeded to charge us and additional $50 for the extra people. Of course, I was dishonest about the number of us in the room, but an extra $50 just seemed unnecessary seeing as we only planned to sleep there and not use an abundance towels, or even eat breakfast. The frustrating thing is that my emails from Kayak are addressed to me, with my real name, so I think the mistake was actually on the hotel's end and yet they were extremely unkind and did not apologize for anything. It was just bad business practice, but I suppose with a location as great as this one they'll continue to fill rooms no matter the customer service. Also the price for parking was just insane. I recommend looking for other places to park; a few of my other friends found a nearby lot for $15 overnight parking.
Staff and location are incredible. Hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was poor.
The hotel was old which isn't always a bad thing. Our door to our room fell off the hinges and we literally had to sleep with our door opened and unlocked. :( we called downstairs and no one answered. Very dissatisfied Just not comfy and dated. Front desk clerk did not make me happy with how she handled the door situation. She asked me "What do you want me to do?" I don't feel I should ask. I didn't have privacy in a room with females. You think they would bend over backwards to satisfy us. Not the case. Very disappointing.
The room was wonderful with a large king sized bed and beautiful declarations throughout. The included breakfast was a little "holiday inn" but I can't really complain for the price or the accommodation.
The location couldn't be better - right on Decatur in the French Quarter. And the price was great. If you're looking for an affordable place to crash after a hard night in the quarter, this is a good hotel. The parking is absolutely terrible - the spaces are so small I couldn't get out of the car. Afterwards I learned they have valet parking, but that didn't help me when I pulled in as there were no signs and no attendants outside. Besides, there's no way the valet can get in/out without hitting your door on the car next to you. The concierge was very rude. She insisted that I refer to my girlfriend as my wife - this is the French Quarter, I expect to not have to justify my life choices to the concierge. The pool is nice, but rather small, and when I visited it was very unclean. As guests we had access to the Hotel Monteleone rooftop pool 2 blocks away - but for just $25 more I could have booked my room at Monteleone anyway. The decor reminded me of my grandmother's guestroom, the elevator took a full minute to make it up one floor, the towels weren't soft - I could go on. If you're looking for a cheap place to crash in the quarter, I recommend this hotel. But otherwise I'd spend a little extra cash and stay at one of the much nicer hotels in the area.
Great hotel. Front desk clerk never told me there was going to be a charge for parking. I assume it was included. Wish I would of know instead of paying $35 per night. I felt like i was tricked into it.
Location and over-priced hotel in the Quarter. I was here for my 60th birthday. I chose this hotel because I had been here before and had a great experience. Hotel allowed me to change rooms after the ants were reported twice and after my patience had run out. Ant problem in one of three rooms reserved for my 60th birthday. Since I have been here before the system is the following: they give you a really crappy room (interior dungeon room with no windows or a small, crappy and smelly room) you inform the front desk that you are not happy, they respond by saying they cannot do anything until the next day even though the hotel seemed to be fairly empty and it was at check-in time and finally you are allowed to move yourself the following day. The rates are all over the place, they change on a day to day basis. I reserved one of the rooms at full price because I wanted to make sure my birthday accommodations were great and I received a very disappointing, smelly, cramped room with a tiny bathroom. Unhelpful front desk. Overall a sad experience.
very close to canal street and Bourbon street. Able to walk there. Great location for walking to these site attractions. The bed was very sqeaky anytime I moved. To go to bathroom you had to step up and I kept hitting my foot on the upstep to go in. So I kept reminding my mother to take a step up when she entered it so she wouldn't fall.
We waited over 30 minutes for our car
Location was fantastic. Staff was very friendly. The air conditioner in one of our rooms was not working properly, even after a maintenance person came to service it.
Perfect location, very nice rooms and beautiful pool area. Staff was incredible and probably the nicest pet friendly hotel I have ever stayed in. Very close to all the fun, Harrah's casino, Cafe du Monde, house of blues, Bourbon St. We walked everywhere had a blast and never even thought about a cab. Nothing, the hotel was great and New Orleans is one of my new favorite cities on the planet!
Location $40 for one night of parking
Welcoming staff, comfortable/clean room The construction smell but no complaints aside that tiny one.
Nothing and will never stay again service. i will never stay again the worst hotel i have ever stayed at in my life,,,,,,,
I liked the hotel suite rooms No maid service on weekends
It offered free internet service and free hot breakfast. The internet in my room was sporadic; although I talked with the internet provider, nothing was done to improve the service. Light bulbs were missing in the lamps. No one cleaned the room after my first night.
Liked the location, breakfast and comfortable bed!
Our room was like a spacious studio apartment with a nice layout. It was nice to have an icemaker. Also nice to have the sink and bathroom tucked around a corner. The mattress and pillows were super comfortable!
My family stayed here (3 rooms/2 nights) to attend my daughter's wedding. Rooms were great for the price compared to other hotels nearby. Very clean and comfortable. Parking issues. Perhaps hotel could give better information with regards parking options in the French Quarter area.
Friendly and attentive staff. Great location within easy walking distance to French Quarter, streetcars, Casino. Variety of items to choose from at the breakfast buffet. Nothing, no complaints or issues at all!
Great location and room was delightfully featured. The managers reception on Wednesday was a most welcome feed with drinks. It was a jolt in the wrong direction to have breakfast from stryrofoam bowls and plates with disposable cutlery. The food was good but it really dulled the otherwise upmarket feel of the establishment to be greeted with disposables though I guess it kept the price good.
The rooms were large
Free breakfast was served late. Requested 2 beds only got one.
rooms were spacious and well designed clean facility close to attractions the floor we stayed at did have an odd smell but the room was okay
Great location for Mardi Gras parade watching and partying on Bourbon St. Just blocks away from Canal St. and St. Charles street car lines. 10-15min walk to the French Quarter. The room and hotel was very clean and staff friendly. The free continental breakfast was good for saving a few bucks but it's not the best. Sofa sleeper was awful, mattress was very uncomfortable! King bed was nice and big but the mattress was nothing to brag about!
Our room was great! It was huge, clean and very comfortable! Staff was very friendly! Would stay there again! Great access to the French quarter!
The hotel does not look that inviting from the outside but the interior of the hotel is very modern, clean and well maintained. The hotel requires guests to use their room key to get to their rooms for added security. The customer service is excellent! I would stay in a Hampton Inn Hotel again. There wasn't anything about this hotel I did not like.
Room comfort and amenities in the room. Water pressure/shower only no tub in room Only 2 elevators were working at one point which was awful but eventually repaired. Poor lighting near full length mirror near entry door. No light there to use mirror.
bourbon street, shopping, gambling, dinning no complaints
The daily breakfast was well stocked and the hotel was clean. The water pressure in the shower was pretty poor I was staying near the top floor, so it is possible it is better on the lower floors. The elevators were poorly maintained and did not run very well. When I made my reservation over 3 months ago, I requested one king bed and when I checked in, they had no king beds available and we were given a room with 2 double beds. The walls are very thin and every morning we were woken up to our neighbors talking and getting ready for their day.
My husband,3 young kids and I spent the weekend here to do some fun Christmas activities over the weekend. Excellent location across the street from convention center and Riverwalk, near Fulton street and French Quarter. Staff was excellent, room was very nice and located in a very safe area of New Orleans. We'll definitely be staying at the Mariott again!
The staff was good, location was good, beds were comfortable. (However, we were put in a two-queen room when we asked for a king.) Starbucks in the hotel was convenient, however I was used to free coffee for guests at other Marriott franchises, so that was a little disappointing. I really wish that there had been more drawer space. It was inconvenient for staying a week, though I suppose most people staying are just there for a convention.
Offers valet parking only
The staff was extremely helpful and cordial. Only Double Beds available for my stay. We requested King bed for our stay. Also valet parking wasn't available for our stay.
Staff was very accommodating, the hotel was clean and excellent condition The pillows were feather pillow which was very uncomfortable, when I asked for foam pillows they were out, I guess other guest wanted foam pillows. WiFi was expensive I don't understand when you check into a cheaper hotel it is free, now days WiFi is just as used as TV and they don't charge for that.
Stayed Mardi Gras weekend. Staff is exceptional here!! Loved it all!
Our stay at the hotel was great. Enjoyed how close it was to Bourban Street and the staff was excellant. The only downside to the hotel was the beds. Where not the most comfortable.
The hotel is literally less than 1 block from Bourbon Street, the heart and sould of the French Quarter. Hotel was very quiet. View from our window was of the next roof top, don't expect to be able to see the street from your room. The beds were acceptable but would have liked a little better quality mattress.
Great location, staff and room. Always a joy!
VALET SERVICE AND ADJACENT RESTAURANT-FRIENDLY STAFF,CLEAN ROOM AND LINENS
The staff was very helpful. the location was good. Tv was old as hell.
Location was perfect, staff was friendly and helpful. Best prices.
1.) I broke my key in lock within first five minutes!! An assistant fixed my problem immediately. 2.) I left hanging clothes in room and was called after I checked out and was able to return and retrieve them. (Excellent)
Why wouldn't a hotel provide adequate wifi in this age?
Happy with hotel and staff. Will stay there again
The location great was able to walk to a lot of restaurants .the Bombay Club is a great spot for dinner drinks and a nice evening romantic weekend. There is also a cafe that has a good breakfast the beds very comfortable and staff very professional The hotel is a half block from bourbon st and every place l had to go l had to walk down bourbon. If you are not a bourbon st fan or don't what you children around that area this is not the hotel for you.
The room was beautiful; the hotel is beautiful; the staff was courteous. The elevator for the car garage broke and myself and many others were trapped there all day and I was not able to get my car out until 10pm. We had to convince the manager that he needed to pay for meals and drinks (even water) while we all waited and then he FINALLY offered hotel rooms elsewhere for the night to the ones who chose not to wait up late to get their cars out when it was fixed.
In general it was really nice. The court yard was really nice and clean
Great location... within a few blocks of historic/tourist locations and typical regional (cajun, seafood) and gourmet dining. Excellent value.
We could not have picked a better location to stay. We could walk out our door and be at Jackson Square. Great for walking and taking in the New Orleans culture!!!!
Clean and in a great location in the French Quarter Room was a little small but we are not stay in the room folks. We were out walking and site seeing.
Great location! Street noise.
location and parking No window in room. Breakfast was poor.
Loved the history of the buildings and the koi fountain and the courtyard were so beautiful and relaxing. Loved the central location. We were able to walk everywhere. The main thing I didn't like was that at 5 o'clock in the morning our first night there, workman started a LOT of banging and loud talking right outside our window (Rm. #201). It was really loud and I was really looking forward to sleeping in on my vacation and didn't get to and we were out late the night before. When I said something to the front desk clerk she just said 'Oh yeah they're doing some work out there'. I thought that was pretty inconsiderate and I was pretty mad that morning. Also we paid for a room with 2 double beds for my husband, I and our 21 year old son and then they charged us for having a third person. I guess I should have just gotten the cheaper 1 bed room and made them haul a cot up there. Didn't seem fair.
The location and the friendly staff.
The location was great as well as the morning staff Didnt care much for the night receptionist, gave a little bit of an attitude when we asked for extra towels. Oh and the pool was dirty all 3 days we were there. I thought my bathtub had a ring...geez.
Great location. The hotel was in the French Quarter of New Orleans located 1 block from Jackson Square and 2 blocks from Bourbon Street. We never had to use our vehicle during the stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel but the room was clean and quiet. I will definitely stay there again.
We did not have any problems. The room was adequate with good air conditioning, and the staff was friendly. We felt the hotel was a great value and the location was perfect. We were steps away from Jackson Square and a block and a half off Bourbon. The room was a little dark and outdated, but nothing I couldn't handle. They probably should renovate the bathroom sooner rather than later.
Room size and amenities were great. You could hear the rooms above and next to you.
Spacious, clean rooms, in a great location (very close to Emeril's/the WWII Museum/Harrah's and only a 15 minute walk to the French quarter), at a fantastic price. You could do a lot worse at this price point with not that much more upside. We didn't even take advantage of the gym or free breakfast. We liked it. We weren't expecting to be wowed upon arrival and we weren't. A lot of families stayed, and therefore there was some noise. Nothing unreasonable.
The room was great and better than described. Powerful AC/Heat Unit. The Kitchenette had cookware and dishes, a dishwasher, full size fridge, two stovetops, a large coffee maker, large sink, and table for two seperate of the living space. There was a decent sized pull out couch, coffee table, and large desk. Large Closet and fantastic shower pressure. Garden and pool are enclosed from street view. Basketball court and fitness center. Free Breakfast options that were beyond expectation in variety and quality. 4 short blocks on straight line from convention center. I was closer and paying less than most attendees. The employees were the best, though. They checked my bags since I got in for a conference at the Convention Center early, gave me free trolley tokens and advice for touring, easy to talk to, and met all of my needs. Only 4 blocks away Street-side hotel rooms in ANY part of downtown New Orleans can be loud on Friday and Saturdays, and my room was ground floor street side.
Breakfast is awesome and unlimited. They have special events in the evening as well offering the guests snacks.
My husband and I were only going to be in New Orleans for 1 night. We wanted to stay in a place with charm, and this was perfect! The hotel is in a really nice area, but not far from the French Quarter. We would definitely return.
Great location. Friendly staff. Bugs in the bathroom. Hotel claimed to be making "green efforts" but had inefficient shower heads, toilets, and faucets. Light bulbs are still incandescent!! We call their claims greenwashing...walk the talk.
Good value comfy beds clean rooms easy walking distance to canal street and river walk areas.
Employees were courteous and happy to answer any questions about the area. Room was emaculately clean and elegant. The restaurant/bar wasn't open, but it was the day after Christmas, so I undersatnd.
We had a very good stay, walking distance to convention center and great restaurants in the area. Make sure to call for valet, very slow to retrieve car. Street view side has very loud streetcar traffic.
Everything except the little water pressure in our bathroom sink. Little water pressure in lavatory
loved the convenience to everything in the garden district and magazine street our room and bathroom was clean and well made, however, the carpet had not been vaccumed-only on the left side of the bed and was still not vaccumed during our 3 night stay-even after requesting maid service-I just put down towels-carpet had grass and debris and king size bed had very worn spots were people had slept that had worn mattress down-Oh, there seemed to be only 2 tiny elevators that hardly fit you and your luggage-and housekeeping had to use same elevator-very inconvenient for them and guests.
The room accomidations Having to pay $40 a day to valet car with no prior notice!
It was a very nice hotel just a little far from walking anywhere. Staff was excellent.
Friendly, helpful staff
I reserved and paid for a suite two months in advance. When I arrived I was told that the hotel overbooked and was given the only room available. When I showed the confirmation to the clerk I was told," It is not available." The hotel had been paid for a suite and I was given a standard room. The manager gave me a free parking pass and a coupon to the bar as compensation for their mistake.
Very comfortable, staff was well versed in making my stay as easy as possible.
The staff was great, rooms were clean and neat. The poolside was nice clean and filtered. And the location was convenient nice view The price of valet was a lil expensive
Great location, neat charm and great breakfast. Watch out for the $40 valet upon arrival! Overpriced valet, somewhat shabby towels.
Staff and facility was great! The complimentary breakfast buffet was amazing! Didn't have enough time to fully enjoy all of the amenities....courtyard bar, etc. would stay at the Hampton Inn again and refer friends and family. Very nice facility, well maintained and staff was pleasant and friendly.
Convenient location; friendly/helpful staff, exceptionally clean rooms; lots of room to visit in lobby. Actually, nothing!
There were a few staff who served breakfast who were really terrific They were under construction and we were not advised prior to travel. The smell of paint was irritating to my allergeries when I brought that up to the staff I was brushed off and no a accommodation was offered.
We will be back N/a
Hotel room was beautiful. Loved our car was inside the courtyard, safe and close. Can't wait to go back.
2 blocks from bourbon
location price furnishings, maintenance level
Pool, beds, doorman and location Desk staff and the lose of free breakfast
My absolute favorite thing was the real shuddered Windows, floor to ceiling that actually opened up to the French quarter. Like you could hang out the window and watch the groups go by on the haunted New Orleans tours. The fact that they stopped in front of my hotel was only slightly nerve racking The room smelled a little like mold and my ears and throat itched all night. Also, the toilet seat was loose and threatened to throw you on the floor everyone you sat on it.
Staff is wonderful. Courtyards are perfect and the location is great! Would definitely stay here again.
Great service even though the hotel was booked solid for ballgames in town! Awesome doorman/concierge and continental Breakfast~ Breakfast dishes could be a little bit larger - and/or a tray to carry since we had to sit outside to dine~
At first I thought the location was good but at 3am a large group of bums would gather outside of our room fighting, singing, and yelling very loudly-so much that we were scared for our safety. They would not accept our travelocity reservations and tried to charge My credit card again, even though it was already paid for. We did not get the rooms we asked for with two queen beds. The restaurant was closed the entire time we were there too. For the price we paid the tiny room should have had a refrigerator or at least a coffee maker.
