Location is excellent and if you are lucky enogh to not meet Osphaldo (duty manager) you can have a good stay I have arrived late night after long travel to Premier Inn - London Euston 1 Dukes Road – I had a reservation done by bookings.com web page. Duty Manager (Osphaldo) was very strict and almost impolite. Hotel had no information form booking.com system with my additional room requirements. Also it appeared afterwards that Duty Manager was unable to issue an invoice other than default system receipt. My company data could not be located on the receipt. This means for me that I might not be reimbursed for my stay in Premier Inn Hotel. Duty Manager did want at all to helpful to solve problem of invoice/receipt. He even said “You are not the first and not the last person that have these kind of problems”.
Ease of payment and book-in, restaurant on site, helpful staff, safe environment. I likes everything.
clean, comfortable, friendly staff, nice breakfast, overall good price/quality ratio
just the price of parking
Baggage storage was very useful. Staff helpful and breakfast good. Very noisy on Friday night, party at pub opposite!
The staff were extremely helpful with travel information etc and even though busy always smiled and very courteous The restaurant was too small for breakfast time with all the people staying in the hotel wanting to be up and out at the same time
Close to euston anf kings cross. Nice breakfast. The staff were not sure how to deal with any sort of non-classical complaint. The smiles suddenly disappear and the tone changes.somehow the warmth seemed so artificial and short lived. You learn to just check in and go to your room and avoid any discussion and accept things. The idea of being locked out of your room with your luggage in it by cancelling your eletronic key as a subliminal message to alert you to pay your new night without any call or message to you is so weird and so un-british like.
Decent room, good breakfast, late bar.
We were very happy that there was a room where we could store our baggage once we had checked out, so that we didn't have to carry it around with us whilst we were sight-seeing. Breakfast was very good despite the fact that we hadn't previously booked one. The reception area could be more warm and welcoming , with a bigger reception desk and more staff on duty.
Easy to get to
close to St Pancras International & conference venue (BMA); relaxing and lovely dining room; laid back bar street noise bedroom on ground floor (room 95)
Our room was quiet and we had free bottles of water. 1.Bath was dangerous - no handle to get in and out by. 2.My friend was adressed as a man when going in for dinner on Sat night. On telling the young lady member of staff her error (my friend was actually a woman)she just giggled. We decided not to complain on this occasion.
Nothing We were informed on check in that we had been "upgraded". We were put into a smoking room, even though our booking stipulated a non smoking room. The reason we booked the hotel was to have a good nights sleep after a long flight. We did get any sleep as we could hardly sleep frojm tghe smell of smoke in the room. It was a complete waste of money.
The service from very friendly staff was excellent, room fittings comfortable and spacious. Room service and food excellent. Good breakfast. Hotel very convenient location. Room was on ground floor facing onto the hotel restaurant so no outside aspect. Made room feel very claustrophobic. Room was extremely hot and subsequently air conditioning needed to be on which was noisy.Resulted in poor sleep.
staff pleasant bedroom tiny, far too cramped for 2 people & didn't have fridge & safe as advertised on web site, hair dryer not working
Not enough TV chanels, Noisy room from street, very expensive internet
Clean hotel, fresh smelling, lovely balcony Very small room, not particularly good value for money, other similar hotels in area priced lower
The bathroom. My room was far too hot and stuffy. I needed a good night's sleep in advance of a meeting the next day and I woke up every two hours because it was so hot. At one point it was 25.5 degrees C. I tried adjusting the air conditioning and at 2am called down to reception for help and they sent up a fan. The window would only open a crack and that let in all the traffic noise rather than cooled down the room. The coolest it got was 23.5 degrees C. I was very disappointed as I'd expected a comfortable environment.
the staff was very helpful in providing assistance and directions for getting around the city and getting transportation set up for our convenience the furnace made a loud noise when it was coming on and made it difficult to get a good night sleep
The staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel was exceptionally clean.
We visited since we send clients from Asia and Europe to your group, grange. Just one night stay we stayed.I Shall report back to mr. barry wishart with whom I have liaised before. We are impressed with your townhouse hotel in Bloomsbury.I Particularly liked the view over the gardens at the back and the unique curtain division inthe room.It was pleasant and quiet as I had requested. thank you
Location was excellent - within walking distance of tube stations and shopping. Rooms, although small, were comfortable, clean and to a high standard
My room number is 006 which located in the LG floor.
Good service and helpful staff Good location The garden is very nice No minibar in the room Breakfast to expensive
The staff were very pleasant and the area is quite central. The room was slightly small and I had asked for a smoking room but was not told that I was given a non smoking room. The room was lower ground.
Convenience for my required location
Location is very near form Underground and British Museum. Staff is extremly helpful and friendly. Rooms are new refurbished and bathrooms are very clean. 1.Instead of Superior room (was booked) first night we were settled in small double which usually used as single - room was changed for Superior only next day without refund for the first night. Should be more careful with overbookings. 2. No enough hooks for towels in bathroom - very unconvinient. 3. No wi-fi in rooms, internet is expensive - 5 GBP/hour and no possibility to use less than 1 hour, you should pay 5 GBP even if used only 10 minutes
Nice atmosphere Internet far too expensive !!!
its location poor sound insulation - had to move to another hotel
The room we got vere spacious but very noisy because of the street trafic and windows without isolation. No aircondition. When we arrived we were told they only had a room in the basement! When we refused to have that they found out that they also had a room on the ground floor - noisy and very hot but large. With windows open you could not sleep because of noise, closed because of heat. Furthermore you have to pay in advance for your stay and not when you leave as normal.
Ive spent some time in hotels and is by far the best hotel for value, location. The room was more than sufficiant with excellent facilites.Room 102 if you would like to use as i cannot speak for others. Will be recommending to friends and family.
Rooms well designed and comfortable Useless staff on reception. When checking in forgot to ask me to sign credit card. Called the room and woke me at 7.30 next morning to tell me. Complained to manager who didn't have a clue how to deal with it.
It was very warm and cosy, i could have stayed there for a week. Thought the mini kitchen was very good No
Value for money on NYE's and great location. Also friendly staff and very clean.
Lovely friendly hotel very comfortable great location and atentive staff
room 1 which i slept in was very noisy. The nets were black.
Nice staff, wonderful room, very well located.
Very pleasant to have tea & coffee in the room. Thank you. Staff very pleasant & helpful (except for one point - see below). Only one point. The member of staff present on Thursday evening promised to give us an early call on Friday morning at about 6.00 am (we were going to queue early at the British Museum for tickets to the First Emperor exhibition) but we never received a call. Fortunately we also had an alarm clock, so it was OK, but if we'd been relying on the promised call we might not have been in time.
Room made up every day, clean towels, bed comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful Room decor needs updating!
Staff at the hotel were excellent and went out of their way to help us, they were polite ,courteous, and helpful the standard of the room and bathroom was poor
The location was pretty good. The staff were helpful. The wall next to my bed was damp with the wall paper peeling off. The bathroom was freezing!!
The location was excellent - a huge amount of attracttions can be accessed on foot. Close (10 - 15 mins walk) to lots of good restaurants and bars in Soho, Fitzrovia, Leicester Sq etc. Other than the over-priced breakfast which seems to be a feature of most chain hotels (the Starbucks next door was doing well each morning!) the only complaint was the old single-glazed windows in a room at the back of the hotel - noise wasn't an issue but in cold weather it meant the radiator was on full blast 24 hours a day especially as the en suite didn't have its own heater! In fairness though this isn't going to be a problem most days of the year in London just when the wind comes in from Siberia!
Conventient from the underground. needs refurbishing
Everything worked smoothly. No problem whatsoever. Breakfast was ok. As always in London. It feels like the people next door are in the same room. No voice isolation at all. The hotel was also under construction. Terrible smell in the hallway from paint.
Room was Excellent. Front desk employees were FANTASTIC. The outside appearance of the hotel does not look fresh (needs an outside makeover). The hotel needs a business office room with several computers and a printer to print out boarding passes and not have to intrude on the work of the front staff. All hotels have this. It's time for Thistle Bloomsbury Park.
The Bloomsbury Park was very close to Covent Garden and surrounding area. I thought the breakfast was to expensive, but other than that I was very pleased with the accommodation
The bed was very comfortable and spacious. The radiator in the bedroom was very noisy but we didn't realise it was the radiator until the following morning.
big bathroom and unique decoration of the room. there was no fridge and safe box in the room. there is no concierge most of the time. staff are not professional.
Hotel room was warm and comfortable, as the weekend weather was poor it was nice to get back to an inviting room. Delay in breakfast - although once we got fed it was great.
The hotel has an excellent location and a very nice atmosphere. I also enjoyed the restaurant recommendations made by the concierge. The room was a bit noísy (I lived on the second floor).
the athmosphere I had a double room which was evidently a converted single very small no easy chair, insufficient room for clothes and luggage
simply the way in which the staff treated us with so much respect, after we had a couple of problems with our room to start with, they showed alot of kindness, booked us into a different hotel for the first night, free of charge, and then upgraded us to a lovely room for our second night stay in london, we felt very well looked after.
Very nice Hotel. Easy access to public transport. Dealing of staff is very good. If i would visit London again, would definitely prefer to stay there.
The food was excellent, the staff most helpfull. The first room offered was very very poor ,we had to pay extra to get an half decent room
the three consierge gentlemen we spoke to were very helpful Staff maybe might smile. If applicable make sure you get your Harrods voucher. We had to ask even though it was included in our package.
The size of the Junior suite was wonderful! The room was a little old and had some cracks in the wall joints. They didn't have any pull in area if you arrive by car. We weren't aware of this from the descriptions and had to drive around the area to find a parking garage and then roll our luggage a few blocks to the hotel.
The very large bathroom & close proximity to tube station. Upon first arrival we were given very small room on smoking floor, so we changed.
The hotel is in a great location and is easy to find. The hotel is clean and the room was large and finished to a high standard for this money in London. The staff were efficient and helpful too. If I were being picky I'd say that the lack of a lift was a shame. It was also odd to have a shared toilet (although well fitted out and maintained) as there was plenty of space to have made the room en-suite.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is well situated and within a few blocks of Russell Square tube station. The room had high ceilings and was reasonably comfortable and appointed. Good continental-style buffet breakfast was available. Carpet in room was very worn and needed to be replaced. Shower was so-so. Light over wash-basin didn't work. There was a heavy, uncomfortable cover on the bed and nowhere to put it if you took it off the bed. Cold meat available at breakfast was left uncovered on buffet table--not good health practice!
Clean,well located ..freindly courteous service..good value. ?
I asked for a quiet room not overlooking the road - that's what we got. Very polite staff. Very comfortable bed, clean and well equipped room. My husband was unwell, and I asked if he could sleep for a few hours more on the day of checking out. I was told he could, at £15 per hour. Thought that was a bit steep and somewhat unsympathetic.
The floor is practically destroyed. It is highly dangerous to walk - anywhere in the hotel
Friendly, professional staff, good tv and nicely decorated. Comfortable bed (despite the size) No coffee in one room, no milk in other, vastly different room sizes, one very small with very small bed, the other was very large with very large bed. Additional charges for paying via debit card.
Location Noise, no toilet in the room, old windows that allow cold air through, size of bed, and overall value the money.
Its Location Small old fashioned rooms
Very Polite None
Staff was friendly and make me feel relax during my stay. And the whole place was so clean including my room. Before booking the place, I have compared with many places on the same price range. This one has got the best review and I was not disappointed. By the way, the search on google map will show that the hotel was Torrington place but it's actually on Gower Street. It's just at the corner from where the search take you so don't worry you won't get lost. I recommen you use street view and that will show you exactly where it is. -
A real treat, nice and clean, furnished very well, the staff were friendly and helpful. The downstairs lounge was a really nice place to sit, given that the room I had was a little small (fine for 1 night). A great example of how a budget hotel can be done really well. The room could not really be classified as a double room. It is a single room with a 4'6" bed pushed into a small space. You couldn't have had 2 adults with suitcases standing up at the same time in that room.
Efficient, convenient and spotlessly clean. Remarkably value for Central London. I particularly liked the free internet access in the lounge.
Location and staff were fantastic.
Man who checked me in Rushed out the hotel 20 minutes prior to leaving. Not being told the wifi password
Host was very nice, hotel was pleasant, free internet access was very useful. Room was clean and well-supplied. Room was very, very small, with a bed pushed up against the wall and no room to move around. Traffic noise was very loud. I got little sleep.
The hotel gives good value for your money. It is clean, well-maintained and has free Wi-fi. The staff is very friendly, courteous, professional and accommodating. The room and bathroom are quite small.
Wireless internet was not working during stay - one of the main reasons for booking this hotel.
Very friendly and easy going, like staying in a country B&B but in the city, loved it.
Very clean and tidy.Staff very helpful and efficient None
Location and stuff at the reception desk. Free luggage storage for early check-iners. Smoked fish in "English breakfast". 1 pound per day storage of your luggage AFTER check out. That was also convenient. However, expect to pay cash. Would I go back to this hotel? Very unlikely. Size of the rooms is very small. Yes, I am a spoiled American. Metal keys for rooms with huge metal sticks attached to them (so, you will not take it with you) - that was weird in 21st century. What I really did not like is the stuff in the breakfast area. The guys are from Middle East, not too adapted to the level of service in the Western world. Very rude. In the first day, I was seated at some table. I already got some food and then I was asked to move to another table, because my table was reserved. That did not feel very good. Also, who knew that there is a difference between "English breakfast" and "Continental breakfast"? Moreover, I supposed to read the list of items, which are attributed to each type of a breakfast and then go and pick those items. Really? I don't know who came up with that idea, but it's completely stupid from customer's satisfaction standpoint. By the way, "continental breakfast" includes only cereal and toasts with juice. That's it. If you take eggs and sausages, you supposed to pay extra, because they are part of "English breakfast".
Staff was helpful Room was small and a bit old fashioned
The staff, reception, and housecleaning were all very good, and my room was cleaned well. Excellent location. If you need to do anything with the University of London, it is a wonderful location and value, and there is free continental breakfast or a more traditional English breakfast for more money. Train (underground) goes straight to Russell Square from Heathrow and the hotel is a couple of blocks from that station. It's so conveniently located, and there are plenty of little markets and places to eat if you need water, snacks, an adapter, etc. Very tourist friendly location. I had an allergic reaction to their sheets and/or bed. I fear it was bed bugs because I did see a small seed like dark brown casing, but it could also be the detergent in the sheets, or dust. I had hives for three of the four nights I was there and only while in the bed. They changed my room immediately once I told them, but it persisted. I was fine and without hives while not in the room, but woke up with them everyday. It made me nervous about staying there again. It seems I had an allergic reaction to bed bugs and/or their sheets, and they didn't seem surprised when I called down about it, but I got a new room right away. Service was good otherwise.
The location is excellent for us (near the British Museum, U of London, Kings Cross, Euston, and St. Pancras stations. Rooms are comfortable, lighting is good, TV is good, we like the bar, it is near good food shops and walking distance to most other things we want to see or do. The breakfast is boring -- hasn't changed since the 1970s. Also, it is a good idea to use the hotel safe for money or valuables as the staff is large and ever-changing. We were robbed several years ago by one of the cleaning staff .But the positive features outweigh that one instance. In some rooms there are design issues with the bathroom - we had a faucet that shot water on the floor because it was too far from the sink. But given London prices, we still feel the Tavistock is a good deal.
Location Staff not very friendly or helpful (with the exception of the greeter at breakfast) Strange taps in the room that were reminiscent of those in a hospital so you couldn't wash your face in the sink without stabbing out your eyes Rooms looked very old and tired, in need of renovation The hotel itself was very hot and the rooms were hotter. We asked for a fan but it didn't help much The shower head was located at my thigh height. I am 6ft 4ins tall; but that's ridiculous... Very small and slow elevators No Internet connection in the rooms and the Internet connection in the reception area wasn't that good Did I say the staff were not very friendly
The location is amazing, 5-10 min walk fro st pancras intl and 5 min away from the underground. No toiletries (only soap, so BYO everything), continental breakfast is basically bread rolls, toast, tea and coffee, cornflakes and jam.
