Location was great, rooms very clean and quite spacious for city centre hotel. Very very hot in rooms, hence planty of fans available. But was just a little overwhelming
The staff were cheerful and friendly, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was fine. There was a computer in the breakfast room that guests could use to access the web. The hotel was located on a quiet street. The room we were in had its own air conditioner for the one day when it was hot.
clean comfortable room and pleasant atmosphere. Excellent location no lift
The location, covenient for stations and west end and spotlessly clean..Very friendly and helpful staff. We missed having a lift
Location and setting of the Hotel was very nice. I'm afraid I had a problem at breakfast time. I arrived to the dining room at 09h01. I misunderstood that breakfast finished at 09h00 and thought I had until 09h30. Waitress told me that breakfast was finished. I thought it was unfair that one minute past nine there was nothing available to eat. At about 09h05 several staff came in to clean off the tables, while there were still people eating, making everyone hurry up to finish. I did not like this and feel everyone was made to feel uncomfortable.
The location is convenient for St Pancras, British Museum, and Tube. The room and bathroom were warm (almost too warm) and comfortable. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order.
Great Customer Service and wonderful location for the price.
Clean room, great, quiet location and yet very close to St Pancras.
shower very poor, breakfast cup of tea undrinkable
Decent room, good breakfast, late bar.
Location is excellent and if you are lucky enogh to not meet Osphaldo (duty manager) you can have a good stay I have arrived late night after long travel to Premier Inn - London Euston 1 Dukes Road – I had a reservation done by bookings.com web page. Duty Manager (Osphaldo) was very strict and almost impolite. Hotel had no information form booking.com system with my additional room requirements. Also it appeared afterwards that Duty Manager was unable to issue an invoice other than default system receipt. My company data could not be located on the receipt. This means for me that I might not be reimbursed for my stay in Premier Inn Hotel. Duty Manager did want at all to helpful to solve problem of invoice/receipt. He even said “You are not the first and not the last person that have these kind of problems”.
just the price of parking
We were very happy that there was a room where we could store our baggage once we had checked out, so that we didn't have to carry it around with us whilst we were sight-seeing. Breakfast was very good despite the fact that we hadn't previously booked one. The reception area could be more warm and welcoming , with a bigger reception desk and more staff on duty.
Ease of payment and book-in, restaurant on site, helpful staff, safe environment. I likes everything.
Easy to get to
Baggage storage was very useful. Staff helpful and breakfast good. Very noisy on Friday night, party at pub opposite!
Close to euston anf kings cross. Nice breakfast. The staff were not sure how to deal with any sort of non-classical complaint. The smiles suddenly disappear and the tone changes.somehow the warmth seemed so artificial and short lived. You learn to just check in and go to your room and avoid any discussion and accept things. The idea of being locked out of your room with your luggage in it by cancelling your eletronic key as a subliminal message to alert you to pay your new night without any call or message to you is so weird and so un-british like.
clean, comfortable, friendly staff, nice breakfast, overall good price/quality ratio
The staff were extremely helpful with travel information etc and even though busy always smiled and very courteous The restaurant was too small for breakfast time with all the people staying in the hotel wanting to be up and out at the same time
The bathroom. My room was far too hot and stuffy. I needed a good night's sleep in advance of a meeting the next day and I woke up every two hours because it was so hot. At one point it was 25.5 degrees C. I tried adjusting the air conditioning and at 2am called down to reception for help and they sent up a fan. The window would only open a crack and that let in all the traffic noise rather than cooled down the room. The coolest it got was 23.5 degrees C. I was very disappointed as I'd expected a comfortable environment.
The service from very friendly staff was excellent, room fittings comfortable and spacious. Room service and food excellent. Good breakfast. Hotel very convenient location. Room was on ground floor facing onto the hotel restaurant so no outside aspect. Made room feel very claustrophobic. Room was extremely hot and subsequently air conditioning needed to be on which was noisy.Resulted in poor sleep.
close to St Pancras International & conference venue (BMA); relaxing and lovely dining room; laid back bar street noise bedroom on ground floor (room 95)
staff pleasant bedroom tiny, far too cramped for 2 people & didn't have fridge & safe as advertised on web site, hair dryer not working
Not enough TV chanels, Noisy room from street, very expensive internet
Clean hotel, fresh smelling, lovely balcony Very small room, not particularly good value for money, other similar hotels in area priced lower
the staff was very helpful in providing assistance and directions for getting around the city and getting transportation set up for our convenience the furnace made a loud noise when it was coming on and made it difficult to get a good night sleep
Nothing We were informed on check in that we had been "upgraded". We were put into a smoking room, even though our booking stipulated a non smoking room. The reason we booked the hotel was to have a good nights sleep after a long flight. We did get any sleep as we could hardly sleep frojm tghe smell of smoke in the room. It was a complete waste of money.
Our room was quiet and we had free bottles of water. 1.Bath was dangerous - no handle to get in and out by. 2.My friend was adressed as a man when going in for dinner on Sat night. On telling the young lady member of staff her error (my friend was actually a woman)she just giggled. We decided not to complain on this occasion.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly The bed did not appear to be a standard double bed
The location was only 2 minutes walk to the tube station and linked to many of the site seeing stations. We were on the bottom floor and we were woken by the people in the room above, walking about early in the mornings, each day.
I found the hotel easy to find and the staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and was very well organised and staff were very attentive. I would definately use this hotel again. The only problem was they had taken £162 from my account and I expected to get the amount of my bill. They said it would go back into my account within the week which I was'nt happy about. Why can't they just take it of your bill why should they hold it. We had been in London four days and as you can understand had spent a lot of money having shopped in Harrods so therefore really did'nt like that. Did'nt like the part that they did'nt take deposit from my bill. Other than that the hotel was fine so I think that needs to be addressed.
Location next to kings cross is great. Breakfast is ok. Wifi was just about working.
The continental breakfast and the chef were terrific. The receptionist was snide and nasty. When we asked him for a wake-up call so that we could get to our flight (6 hours later) he handed us an alarm clock and said he set it for us. He did not mention that the alarm clock was broken. Lucky that we got up without the assistance of a wakeup call.
It was in an excellent location, was clean, and staff were nice.
Convenient central location. For London standards the price is o.k. Room has a fridge. The breakfast room was overcrowded at peak times and generally poorly ventilated. There is a 3% charge on credit cards.
Central and near Kings cross, hotel staff friendly Room in the cellar, without any other sight but a wall outside.
All staff seemed happy and willing to help. Due to lack of double glazing in room (which was on the road) it was quite noisy
great location great staff hard to find the first time be sure to print a map
Host was very nice, hotel was pleasant, free internet access was very useful. Room was clean and well-supplied. Room was very, very small, with a bed pushed up against the wall and no room to move around. Traffic noise was very loud. I got little sleep.
Staff was friendly and make me feel relax during my stay. And the whole place was so clean including my room. Before booking the place, I have compared with many places on the same price range. This one has got the best review and I was not disappointed. By the way, the search on google map will show that the hotel was Torrington place but it's actually on Gower Street. It's just at the corner from where the search take you so don't worry you won't get lost. I recommen you use street view and that will show you exactly where it is. -
Man who checked me in Rushed out the hotel 20 minutes prior to leaving. Not being told the wifi password
Very clean and tidy.Staff very helpful and efficient None
A real treat, nice and clean, furnished very well, the staff were friendly and helpful. The downstairs lounge was a really nice place to sit, given that the room I had was a little small (fine for 1 night). A great example of how a budget hotel can be done really well. The room could not really be classified as a double room. It is a single room with a 4'6" bed pushed into a small space. You couldn't have had 2 adults with suitcases standing up at the same time in that room.
The hotel gives good value for your money. It is clean, well-maintained and has free Wi-fi. The staff is very friendly, courteous, professional and accommodating. The room and bathroom are quite small.
Very friendly and easy going, like staying in a country B&B but in the city, loved it.
Wireless internet was not working during stay - one of the main reasons for booking this hotel.
Efficient, convenient and spotlessly clean. Remarkably value for Central London. I particularly liked the free internet access in the lounge.
Location and staff were fantastic.
The location is excellent for us (near the British Museum, U of London, Kings Cross, Euston, and St. Pancras stations. Rooms are comfortable, lighting is good, TV is good, we like the bar, it is near good food shops and walking distance to most other things we want to see or do. The breakfast is boring -- hasn't changed since the 1970s. Also, it is a good idea to use the hotel safe for money or valuables as the staff is large and ever-changing. We were robbed several years ago by one of the cleaning staff .But the positive features outweigh that one instance. In some rooms there are design issues with the bathroom - we had a faucet that shot water on the floor because it was too far from the sink. But given London prices, we still feel the Tavistock is a good deal.
Location Staff not very friendly or helpful (with the exception of the greeter at breakfast) Strange taps in the room that were reminiscent of those in a hospital so you couldn't wash your face in the sink without stabbing out your eyes Rooms looked very old and tired, in need of renovation The hotel itself was very hot and the rooms were hotter. We asked for a fan but it didn't help much The shower head was located at my thigh height. I am 6ft 4ins tall; but that's ridiculous... Very small and slow elevators No Internet connection in the rooms and the Internet connection in the reception area wasn't that good Did I say the staff were not very friendly
The staff, reception, and housecleaning were all very good, and my room was cleaned well. Excellent location. If you need to do anything with the University of London, it is a wonderful location and value, and there is free continental breakfast or a more traditional English breakfast for more money. Train (underground) goes straight to Russell Square from Heathrow and the hotel is a couple of blocks from that station. It's so conveniently located, and there are plenty of little markets and places to eat if you need water, snacks, an adapter, etc. Very tourist friendly location. I had an allergic reaction to their sheets and/or bed. I fear it was bed bugs because I did see a small seed like dark brown casing, but it could also be the detergent in the sheets, or dust. I had hives for three of the four nights I was there and only while in the bed. They changed my room immediately once I told them, but it persisted. I was fine and without hives while not in the room, but woke up with them everyday. It made me nervous about staying there again. It seems I had an allergic reaction to bed bugs and/or their sheets, and they didn't seem surprised when I called down about it, but I got a new room right away. Service was good otherwise.
The location is amazing, 5-10 min walk fro st pancras intl and 5 min away from the underground. No toiletries (only soap, so BYO everything), continental breakfast is basically bread rolls, toast, tea and coffee, cornflakes and jam.
close to london centre and tube station lack of parking, close to hospital
The convenient location - this made all of the difficulties and disappointments worthwhile (just about) The very small room, the shower that doesn't spray, the television that doesn't work - and the rather unpleasant smell in corridors and dining room.
The proximity to Euston Station. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast was convenient and no-fuss
The breakfast was good and plenty of it with very efficient staff on hand. The space in the bedroom and ensuite was a bit tight.
Very convienient location, easy acces by tube, good breakfast small room
friendly staff rooms were smaller than picture might indicate
the breakfast is perfect. the cleanlesss of our room was ok. room was so small.
bar staff very good plus reception to much road noise from police and ambulances
Although very small the room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. For the price paid the room was tiny. The traffic noise from outside was incredibly loud. The main reception of the hotel was shabby and the glass front doors had been smashed and were held together with tape.
Excellent service, general cleanliness, convenient location, good selection at breakfast and very competitively priced Bed was rather too hard for our liking, and rooms are very small.
Closeness to Kings Cross underground, help yourself full English Breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Best London budget hotel we've stayed in No, although our sash window would not stay open very wide but we proped it open with a trainer shoe until we went out so no problem.
The breakfast was cold (instead of having a warm cooked breakfast). The room smelt of sick, the TV remote control was broken and the window would not stay open (i wanted some fresh air).
Excellent Locatiom - not perfect - but clean and comfortable - if you want a bigger room, lifts etc then pay 3 times the price.
value for money beds could be more comfotable
good breakfast and warm during a cold spell in the weather breakfast times of 7-9 at the weekend
The location was excellent, being so close to the underground and main line stations. The lack of toiletries, e.g soap and shower gel etc
Close to Kingscross, cosy room and polite staff No bathroom heating.
Cosr & convenience No fitted central heating in room and none at all in bathroom.
Absolutely nothing. The room was dirty, cramped. The bed was hardly a double bed and most uncomfortable Please see above. Most disappointing hotel. The hotel has met the criteria of providing shower, wash basin was in bedroom, toilet/shower room cramped. Could not fit suitcases through door! Staff apart from checkin were not very friendly. We did not bother having breakfast. Not suitable room for couple.
Great breakfast and friendly service. Newly decorated and very clean. Highly recommend.
Friendly staff who aimed to help. Didn't quite yet know the neighborhood. They need a list of locations, like the Waterstone's on Gower, a decent Indian restaurant nearby, etc. No suggestion of help taking suitcases up three flights. My aching back!
Central location, friendly staff and clean room.
Shower tube is too short and fixed under ceiling, flexible hose is better. No lift.
Very friendly staff. No lifts. 3rd floor with heavy luggage is not the easiest thing to accomplish.
Overall cleanliness. Friendly, very helpful, hard-working staff. Breakfast in with price. Air con. None!
The staff were helpful and courteous. I had just had the card with the pin number stolen and they were very helpful about how I should pay. it is a small thing but I had to leave by 6.30 to catch my train but breakfast was not available til quite a long time after that.
First class well appointed hotel will use again
Steep access to third floor
It had working wifi, and the breakfast + breakfast room were good (especially compared to the hotel I stayed on my previous trip)
The staff were very friendly, but the room was very disappointing. The bathroom was small, the shower very small.
Breakfast was pretty good, staff were friendly. Room was tiny!
Hotel staff, nice breakfast not changeing the sheets
Free wireless, good breakfast, friendly staff, next door to great pub that serves food all day. Excellent position, opposite Euston, 10 min walk to Camden, 15 mins walk to Oxford Street. Thin walls. You can hear everything going on next door and above you - and I mean everything! Tiny shower. I'm 6 foot 4 and the shower head is only 5 foot 6 high and it cant be adjusted.
Breakfast, great location, friendly staff, thé and coffee in the room, clean towls every day. squeaky floor, next to no ventilation in the bathroom
breakfast was good and staff very efficient creaking floorboards from above and ours. bed most uncomfortable and no room to move about when there are two of you.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very basic for the price
Location Squeaky floorboards were disturbing
staff are very friendly
Nice breakfast room very small room
Clean, comfortable, staff attentive. The TV was in a world of its own, the remote was scrambled and no instructions to sort it out.
None. The quality of this hotel was awful.
The breakfast was good The noise from traffic outside. Hotel was on a main road.
great location, nice breakfast, helpful staff, ensuite rooms very noisy (room facing Gower Street), windows not well sealed, carpet and drapes seem a bit dirty.
Staff were friendly and breakfast was very good. Stair carpet was rather worn
Location, breakfast, friendly staff, wireless internet Room was ridiculously small. Pathetic, really, given the price (average of 80 pounds per night). Good only if staying for a couple of days. The water pump/pipes are amazingly noisy. Every time you or your neighbour use the bathroom a disturbing sound comes from the bowels of the hotel. Finally, the walls are so thin that you can hear coughing, sneezing and yawning from the rooms next door.
Location, location, location. Location was great. Staff were very friendly. As a single woman traveller, I felt very safe at this property. Great breakfast. Single room was very small but functional and clean.
warm ok room small bed dining room far too small had to wait for breakfast and although breakfast small ok but 1 day only had 1\2 a sausage
lovely staff room was a nice size. the room was supposed to be a double when infact it was 2 single beds pushed together that kept moving apart during the night.
Ease of booking in. Occasional noise from people going to breakfast.
Hotel Cavendish is typical for the line of hotels of this type in this part of London. Smallish rooms, small bathrooms, no elevator, breakfast served downstairs. Exactly what you'd expect if you had stayed in this type of hotel before. Staff was nice and friendly, but... But you also get what you pay for. This hotel's price was lower than the surrounding hotels and it was appropriate. Clean and nice, but not very well maintained. Our room had curtains missing half of their hooks, the breakfast was served with instant coffee in a french press. Nothing bad, but not a bit elegant. So appropriate value for the money. Because of this I would happily stay here again, but don't expect the Savoy.
very convenient located , very clean breakfast and internet connection; very small room , old fashioned
Location was excellent, and friendly welcome on arrival. Bathroom fascilities poor, limited to shower/toilet in one which is not convenient for several guests to share, also not pleasant to use after other guests due to wet floor and damp towels.
The staff was great after Booking.com misled me into understanding the room had facilities which was down the corridor, small and no heating The room was clean and the beds comfortable. I was in the basement and could hear the underground training running below me.
Clean, good location, breakfast included, tv in room, sink in room, shared bathroom was very clean Noisy group of kids was there for two nights, and the spring- mounted doors kept slamming as they went in and out of each others' rooms at 1:00am
The George is a real find. Great location, decent facilities, and excellent value for money. I would definitely stay there again. Nothing.
The location is very good.
good location for what i needed close to train and tube was cheap rate and was only for one night. Staff i dealt with was only the one a young reception girl. She was very friendly and helpfull no complaints about her at all. shared shower and toilet was very unpleasent. Clean but horrible flaking paint on walls and celings. Was my first experiance of shared facilities and wont be doing that again. Hotel was to be honest what i was expecting and i was more than happy with my overall stay. Bedroom was clean bit out dated but very ok for my one night stay. I would say if you wanted a cheap hotel in an easy to get to location from train or tube is is not a bad option.
Location, staff, price considering it's in Bloomsbury London, very nice view to Cartwright gardens Old building in need of refurbishing, especially the floors which are uneven. the bathroom is cold in winter mornings/nights
I was pleased with my stay at The George. The "Full English Breakfast" was excellent, with high quality food and juices, and quite filling. The location is quite good, along a fairly quiet street in Bloomsbury.
Favorite location of the hotel: Good connection to the train, underground, busses and good neighbourhood. Good personnel. Breakfast could be more diversified and with fresh goods. Overdue investments in sanitary and furniture.
