For restrictions that apply to vaccinated visitors, please check the official guidelines from Finland for the types of accepted and permitted COVID-19 vaccinations, requirements on proof of vaccination certificates, vaccination validity period, and persons and/or groups that may be exempt from vaccination restrictions.
Permitted travelers are granted entry to Finland if they are able to present :
1. a certificate of a complete and valid vaccination series;
2. a recovery certificate alongside a proof of at least 1 approved vaccine dose taken;
3. or an EU digital COVID certificate proving one's recovery from covid-19 within 6 months
All the above-mentioned requirements apply to persons born in 2006 or earlier.
Entry restrictions do not apply to Finnish citizens or permanent residents, travelers from the EU/Schengen region, green-list countries, and travelers who wish to enter the country for essential reasons. Please note that the travel purpose will be assessed on a case-by-case basis based on the information gathered during border check. Regardless from which country or area, all travelers arriving in Finland are still bound by the obligations stated in the Communicable Diseases Act.
Permitted travelers are recommended to login to the Finentry Web Services before travel.
Unvaccinated visitors from the United States must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken within 72 hours for RT-PCR (NAAT) and 72 hours for Antigen (quick-test) before departing to Finland.
Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.
Visitors from the United States are not required to quarantine after entering Finland.
Travelers returning from Finland must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken within 1 day for RT-PCR (NAAT) and 1 day for Antigen (quick-test) before departure to the United States.
Visitors returning from Finland are not required to quarantine upon entering the United States.
