Fully vaccinated visitors from the United States can enter Ukraine without restrictions.

This page covers COVID-19 related travel restrictions only. For other travel restrictions, please check the guidance from your local authorities.

All foreign nationals and temporary residence permit holders in Ukraine, regardless of age, are required to have an insurance policy issued by an insurance company registered in Ukraine. The insurance must cover COVID-19 treatment and it should be valid until the duration of their stay in the country. Ukrainian citizens or a person with a permanent residence permit may not provide an insurance policy.

All foreign citizens, holders of a temporary residence permit and stateless persons need to present one of the following documents when entering the country:

1. Certificate of vaccination with vaccines approved by WHO;

2. Negative PCR test or rapid test taken 72 hours prior to schedule of departure to Ukraine; or

3. Certificate of recovery from COVID-19.

As of 28 February 2022, Ukraine has closed its borders to its aggressors except for its citizens.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated visitors from the United States must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken within 72 hours for RT-PCR (NAAT) and 72 hours for Antigen (quick-test) before departing to Ukraine.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions
Children who are 12 years old and below are not required to present a negative COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Unvaccinated visitors from the United States will need to quarantine for 1 days upon entering Ukraine.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to quarantine.

Unvaccinated travelers need to perform a PCR test within 72 hours after arriving in Ukraine. Travelers presenting a negative result of RT-PCR test do not need to quarantine. Otherwise, they will need to quarantine for 10 days.
Foreigners and stateless persons who enter Ukraine for the purpose of transit and have documents confirming their departure within 48 hours are exempt from self-isolation and, accordingly, installing the Vdoma application and undergoing testing in Ukraine.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travelers returning from Ukraine must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken within 1 day for RT-PCR (NAAT) and 1 day for Antigen (quick-test) before departure to the United States.

Details and exceptions
Effective:December 6th, 2021: A COVID-19 negative test result taken within 1 day before departure must be presented to the airline before boarding your flight. This applies to ALL incoming air travelers, regardless of vaccination status or nationality.
Children under the age of 2 are exempt from test requirements as well as travelers who have both valid proof or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 90 days and a letter from a valid healthcare authority who has stated that they are cleared for travel. Refer to the CDC Website for more details.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Ukraine are not required to quarantine upon entering the United States.

Details and exceptions
Foreign nationals (non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. immigrants) who are not fully vaccinated and are permitted to travel to the US by air by meeting certain vaccine exemptions are required to self quarantine for 7 days, unless they have a valid COVID-19 recovery document.
Travelers should also follow state and local requirements and recommendations after travel.
