Most visitors from the United States need to provide a negative COVID-19 test result and/or quarantine to enter Equatorial Guinea.

Border status

Quarantine and testing is at cost of passengers arriving and leaving. The fees for the PCR test is 50.000 XAF for EG nationals and 110.000 XAF for all other nationals.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type
Visitors from the United States must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 48 hours before departing to Equatorial Guinea.
Exceptions

Travelers arriving without a valid and negative PCR test, will be sent to mandatory government quarantine and undergo COVID-19 testing at their own cost.  If they are sent to a mandatory quarantine hotel, as soon as they are able to, they should email malaboconsular@state.gov with their contact details, name, and date of birth.

Visitors from the United States will need to quarantine for 5 days upon entering Equatorial Guinea.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type
Travelers returning from Equatorial Guinea must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to the United States.
Exceptions

Children under the age of 2 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.

Travelers with proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days prior to boarding. Proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel.

Quarantine requirements
Visitors returning from Equatorial Guinea will need to quarantine for 7 days upon entering the United States.
Exceptions

Travelers who did not get tested, are advised to stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.​
