Most visitors from the United States need to provide a negative COVID-19 test result and/or quarantine to enter Lebanon.

Border status

Travelers, except military personnel, diplomats, members of international organizations, UNIFIL and members of the Lebanese National Social Security Fund or staff cooperative, must have an insurance policy for their whole stay in Lebanon, which will cover in full the costs of medical treatment in case they test positive for coronavirus. Alternatively, the policy can be obtained at the insurance counters upon arrival at Rafik Hariri International Airport-Beirut.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type
Visitors from the United States must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 96 hours before departing to Lebanon.
Exceptions

Exceptions apply to:

    Travelers under the age of 12
    Travelers who have proof of full COVID-19 vaccination more than 15 days prior to arrival
    Travelers with proof of testing positive for COVID-19 more than 15 days prior to arrival

Quarantine requirements
Visitors from the United States will need to quarantine for 3 days upon entering Lebanon.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type
Travelers returning from Lebanon must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to the United States.
Exceptions

Children under the age of 2 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.

Travelers with proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days prior to boarding. Proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel.

Quarantine requirements
Visitors returning from Lebanon will need to quarantine for 7 days upon entering the United States.
Exceptions

Travelers who did not get tested, are advised to stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.​
